Sound effects display box

Every time I turn on my ipod there is a display thats for the volume that says sound effects, I have to turn the volume down to get it to go away. It also turn to the loudest setting when I plug speakers into it. Is there a setting I can change to correct this?

What you could do is change that Rollover Caption to a
standard caption. Well, sort of. Unfortunately there is no magickal
way of changing from one type of object and transmogrifying to a
different type of object. So you would need to delete the rollover
caption. Then insert a standard Text Caption and configure it as
you have the rollover. The trick here is that you would stage the
Click Box object so that it paused the slide at a particular spot.
Perhaps at half a second in. Then stage the invisible Caption with
the audio to begin at perhaps 0.6 or 0.7 seconds in. Configure the
Click Box to simply Continue (That's the default setting anyway).
The end result should be that the slide pauses, then after
your user clicks the Click Box, they hear the audio.

I have been Working on something where i need to disable the "play user interface sound effects" check box ( Under System preferences under sound panel ) for few seconds and then enable the same programically without any user interface appearing on the screen. I know something related using the Applescript however there is a user interface appearing there which doesn't serve the purpose please help with some solution.If you could provide the exact location of the plist file which holds this information then that could help as well.

I too have been working with the sounds ( Which i think is relates to @mit's query ) in an application and the problem is that when ever that application moves something to trash there is a sound which comes the sound of "throwing things in the trash". This is very annoying and i want to do something so that I can suppress that sound atleast for the time this application is on. Now is there some way where I can do this Programically . It would even be fine if I could turn off the user interface sounds completely for sometime and then bring them back on.

I want to point out that the last time I posted this, the discussion was completely blank. This is a repost and hopefully it won't be blank this time
In my most recent short movie, I decided that I would focus a lot more on sound than I normally do, so bought a microphone, a recorder and a boom pole etc. I also decided to implement more sound effects (Bear in mind that I'm 16, not a professional).

Note that at about 0:10 seconds in, you can hear an alarm ringing, but also a sort of 'thump' sound (It's actually the sound of a vault opening/closing). You couldn't hear it normally, so I turned the bass up on it to 17dB. When playing it back in the timeline, it sounds perfectly fine, but when I export the video, much like the attached one, it's muffled and you can't hear the alarm or anything else.
Unfortunately I didn't have time to try and fix it, also that scene takes a while to export so I couldn't quite do any trial and error.
Now however, I'm going to enter the video into a small competition, so I thought I'd try and fix it...because it does sound terrible/unprofessional.
Any suggestions? Remember, it sounds perfect (In my opinion) when playing it back in the timeline. I'm using Premiere Pro CS5.5 on an 11,2 (October 2010) iMac running Mac OSX Snow Leopard 10.6.8, it's also being exported to a G-Drive FireWire 800 hard drive, not a RAID, perhaps that could be a problem?

That's one of the problems, people kept saying "Oh, this line's too long..." and shortnening it, and like Jim said "If you can't fire people, you're at their mercy" so I can't exactly deduct pay or anything...because they're not being paid

And tried using the original MP3. It still didn't sound good.
I then tried exporting the sound on its own, with the bass, then imported it, but it still didn't sound as good.
I asked my friend (Who happens to also have the surname 'Curtis') and he said "just sounds to me like you have it so loud that it's clipping" and suggested that I "multitrack" it, basically layer several of them on top of each other, but that didn't work either.
He decided to add the bass in and fix the 'clipping'. It sounded good, but once imported, you could barely hear it, so I thought I'd try putting the bass up to 17dB like before...had the same problem. It seems to only sound nice/fitting with the 17dB bass...am I just going to have to turn it down and live with it?

My sound effects aren't working, how do I get them to work again?

On my iPad my sounds effects aren't working and it's on loud. I've been into music but it won't let me change the volume. It's just dark grey and won't let me touch it. Also the volume control on the side when I put it onto loud the sound effect pops up in the grey box but doesn't let me change the volume there either... I've also been through the settings and cannot find anything or anywhere where it will let me change the volume manually or invade it had been turned off by accident. I can't listen to music or hear when it goes off!!!
PLEASE HELP!

Is it still paired to a bluetooth device?

Sound effects not working

Suddenly my iPad 3 with Retina display isn't playing sound effects in many apps. Music and videos playback audio fine. Sound effects in the Settings app work fine.
I can change the sound effect for sending Mail through the Settings app and hear what it should sound like, but when I send mail through the Mail app, I hear nothing. Some 3rd party apps sound fine, while others are now missing sound effects.

This might be caused by account settings.
If you have multiple accounts on your Mac sometimes when you do a fast
userswitch settings of the previous account don't update. If the previous user
had the volume muted in his settings, the account switch might not reset
this to the settings you set in your account. Now an os update or big server
maintenance, account cleaning session can cause these issues as well.
Try to log in to the account you used previously, make sure that sound
settings are ok, When sound is working now it's ok for your other account.

Exactly which Audio Effects are you talking about?
Also, when one experiences GUI display issues (many of the Effects have animated settings panels), I always recommend that they go to the nVidia, or AMD/ATI Web site (depending on the mfgr. of their video card), download and install the very latest video driver. Even if that is not the solution to the display, it gets a common problem out of the way early.

Why are Vocal Lyric found loops under Sound Effects in Apple Loops

Was About to explore what Vocal lyrics are available in Apple Loops of Logic Pro when I realised that a lot are duplicated in Sound Effects filter as well as Vocals filter.
Also, some vocals Lyrics are only in Sound Effects.
Why aren't Vocal Lyric loops filed only under Vocals? After all, they are not what I would consider to be Sound Effects.

I think iWeb and iPhoto both use the iTunes Library as their default source for music. You could try going to iTunes, change the iTunes preference to NOT copy files (there's a check box in Preferences->Advanced/General) into the Library, or else have it import the aif files as mp3s (also in Advanced, click the Importing tab), then add the music files to iTunes.

How do i disable the sound effects of the firefox browser?

Firefox Version 3.6.15 for MAC OS X
My computer plays clicking sound effects when i scroll up and down a page and when i open new tabs/windows only within the Firefox program.
Is there a way to turn it off?

Mail 5.0: No Sound Effects

Hello!
Since installing Lion, Mail 5.0 keeps dropping it's sound effects.
They come back for a short while once I "repair disk permissions" (only works with Mail closed down).
All sound boxes are checked.
Anyone have a perminant fix?
If not, any idea if Apple knows of the issue... or is currently working on a fix?
How does one relay an issue like this to Apple? Is there a "bug report" link that I am missing?

Same problem here, I've tried everything, creating new account, re-installing... All the suggestions that the Geniuses from Apple gave me and they ended up telling me that this is a bug which they are aware and are working on it... I still find it so weird that it happens with some Macs but others are just fine.

We have configured our BW sytem to extract data from CRM. Various reports are displayed in CRM UI including queries using BEx WEb and Xcelsius dashboards. Xcelsius dashboards is pulling data from BW cube for CRM data. To present the dashboard in CRM UI we created a bEX web template as a copy of 0DASHBOARD_TEMPLATE. In the copied template specify the name of the xcelsius file. The copied web template can be configured using standard config options for CRM UI.

No sound effects in imovie

I have no sound effects or option to pick from my itunes while in imovie. I am not sure what is going on. The whole box is just gray. Any help would be great!

So, update, I have searched my computer, and apparently the original sounds from ilife sound effects is no longer on my mac... I'm not sure how they were removed, as I never deleted things, only added and moved. Now I have to find out where I can find just the ilife sound effects... maybe a download out there?

Ive done Add Automation, and Automatic Filter is now available on the "Add Automation". I've added points/dots to the curve during the section I need it, but this moves the filter up and down over that point AND from the very start of the song to the very end of the song.
Where does the point/dot need to be/set to at the Start of the song upto the point I want the filter to kick?
So there would be NO filter on the track from Bar 1 to end of Bar 9
Then, where does the point need to be/set to at the end of song from the end of the filtered section?
So there would be NO filter on the track from Bar 13 to end of the song?
So just to confirm I want
Bar 1 to end of Bar 9 - NO FILTER
Bar 10 to end of Bar 12 - Filter
Bar 13 to end of song - NO FILTER

When using side buttons, volumes says sound effects

Not sure what happened here. Is it a mistake by a 3 year old or a bug issue. Started about a month ago that when i open apps that have sound the volume goes mute, meaning sound and keyboard and lock too. Even when i close the app down and open say a video type app, there will be no sound. I will push the side buttons and the gray box that should say volume says sound effect. I have already done the reset with holding home and lock buttons, can't remeber how many times. I have also reset the iPad, i have synced it too. Please help

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. To solve some sound problems, just follow these simple steps
1. Go to Settings
2. Tap on General
3. Tap on Reset
4. Tap on Reset All Settings
What this effectively does is to reset some of your Settings to factory default. It’s not a complete removal of settings. It removes all of your preferences for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy. It doesn’t affect your data. All of your email accounts will remain intact, as well as any SMS text or iMessages.

Additional Sound Effects

Over time I have accumulated additional sound effects from various sources which I use in iMovie.
I keep theses sound effects here:
User>Library>iMovie>Sound Effects
Within the Sound Effects folder I have other folders to categorize the effects, Bells, Animals, Doors etc.
iMovie 5 recognized and would display these category folders.
iMovie 6 names all these category folders "iMovie HD Sound Effects". The individual effects are all still there, but not the individual category names.
I wonder if this is a bug or if there is something I should be doing that I'm not.
