Sound effects missing after 2.0 update?

Anyone else notice their sound effects (click, etc.) went missing after the 2.0 update? (and yes, "both" is checked under settings). Just wondered if this is universal or if something went haywire with mine...

unfortunately i lost all my info on my touch when doing this, but I can dedicate some time tonight to resetting my wallpaper, my mail settings, etc.
i think the 'DFU' in these instructions means device firmware upgrade...found this on another forum where people complaining of same problem...
1. Hold both the home and power buttons until the device turns off
2. EXACTLY one second after the iPod turns off, release the sleep/wake button, holding the home button still ( the apple logo SHOULD NOT BE ON ).
3. In about 20 seconds, you will see your iPod appear in iTunes, but the screen on your iPod will still be off. You are now in DFU mode.
4. RELEASE the home button as soon as your iPod appears iTunes. If you fail to do so, your iPod will simply go back into recovery mode.
yo Apple - please roll out some info on this 'known issue'; While $9.95 isn't a budget-breaker, if you have to figure out how to make that $9.95 work on your Apple device like it appears some of us are, it speaks to posting something in Support about it - thanks!

    If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

  • Contacts numbers missing after IOS 5 update.

    Contacts missing after IOS 5 update.  I turned off my phone and turned it back on but only my email contacts were there not my numbers.  I updated it on my PC.

    Ok. So after too much of a fight with the iPhone, here is what i think got back the contacts on my phone.
    Step 1: Setting -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> iCloud : Switch off everything.
    Step 2: Go back to main setting page.
    Step 3: Make sure you see "Inactive" under iCloud.
    Step 4: Hit the home button
    Step 5: Close iTunes and start it back up.
    Step 6: Unplug your iPhone from the computer and plug it back in.
    Step 4,5,6 is to make sure you are starting a new session.
    Step 7: Sync iTunes.
    Step 8: Check your contacts. They should have come back up
    Step 9: Setting -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> iCloud : Switch on everything.
    Choose the option "merge" when you get it.

    I just did the update to 10.1 and my iLife and Final Cut X sound effects dissapared from the program.
    I found them in my Finder but they dont' show in the browser in FInal Cut X.

  • Linked Smart Objects missing after last CC update?

    I had an update come across CC for Photoshop & Dreamweaver yesterday. After applying the update I'm finding that linked smart objects are missing from my File>Place menu. Anyone else having this issue? I had them before & now they are gone. CC shows me as having no updates available. Just checked Photoshop & it's showing I'm back at 14.0.

    Sounds like the updater failed and you are running 14.0.0 again.
    Uninstall and reinstall.

  • Settings screen missing after 10.1 update

    After 10.1 update my settings screen is missing.  When I try to open settings anywhere from device it trys to open and quits immediately.
    How can revert back to 10.0 now??
    Also my phone is heating up and battery is draining fast when screen is on.

  • No sound on videos after the last update before iOS 5

    Hi people,
    Iam having the same problem as many iphone 4 users...when iam shooting video there is no sound unless i put on the earphones...the difference is that it used to shoot videos with sound normaly but after i updated to iOS 4.3.5 it stopped recording sound...i have videos with sound that i shot and its kind of wierd....i thought it was the update and i waited until the next one...which came iOS 5 but there is bug fix or something and i that some people refer to this as a hardware problem and not software so i would like to know if anyone has a clue about and any possible solution.

    Advice you gave me sorted the problem transiently, but now I have sound on all programs, which is good! But now my user interface sounds (i.e. emptying trash) don't play! It's not that big of a problem but just slightly annoying!
    I don't fancy spending another £5 on the phone to the useless shower of s* at apple technical support.

    Hey guys, I have a logo animation that I created in AE. Now, should I export that .ae file and add sound effects in Premiere, or just add them using AE? Which would be more efficient/better?

    Yes, I'm done editing everything in AE. I was just wondering, would it be easier to add audio directly into AE or should I use Premiere to do it?

  • Sound Effects missing...

    About a week ago I was checking out the sound effects Garage Band offers and was saving favorites for a upcoming video I'm making. I go into garage band a few days ago and all the loops and such are still there. But when I search gun shot, scary, water, etc nothing comes up. When about a week ago I had about 5 come up for each. Can anyone help me out? How do I get these sounds back? and why did they get deleted? Thanks so much!

    Make sure you are installing the Soundtrack Pro files, which should contain the sound effects. The media that came with the old Soundtrack (non-pro) did not have the sound effects.
    Most of the files are in the "SoundIdeas" folder of the Soundtrack Pro loops.
    (/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple Loops for Soundtrack Pro/)
    Does that folder exist on your machine?

  • No Sound, No Audio after QuickTime & Safari Update

    I am stumped. Ran repair permission prior to an install of the new quick time and Safari. Ran it after. Checked my very limited "sound" preferences, volume is up. And not evidently a hardware issue since I have two drives and the original one where I very seldom venture, the sound works fine if I change my start up disc and revisit the ancient world of 10.3.6.
    I may or may not have reset the PRAM (but with no audio, there are no chimes). My main disc is running 10.3.9 with all recent security updates. And sound disappeared after getting the new Safari and Quick Time updates.
    Obviously, Quick Time is the most likely culprit. But-- how do I uninstall it? If that is the answer? Or is there some other fix? I haven't checked the Tiger posts. Perhaps this isn't a 10.3.9 issue alone. Anyone know?

  • Glow effect missing after reinstall

    I had to reinstall Final Cut Pro 7 and now the Glow effect is missing. None of the other effects seem to be gone. Can anybody help me fix this problem?

    So I found the plug-in in the Motion folder, but after copying and pasting it into the Final Cut Pro System Support folder's Plug-in folder, it still won't show up in Final Cut Pro. Can anybody help me with this?

  • MSVCR80.dll file missing (after latest iTunes update).  Unable to reinstall iTunes either.  Fixes?

    After installing the latest iTunes update, I am unable to open iTunes (The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer).  Plugging in my iDevices won't prompt iTunes to open, either (they are viewed only as mass storage devices).  I attempted to reinstall iTunes, but recieved an error message that said I had insufficient rights to install (I am an administrator).  Is anyone else having similar problems?  Is there a way to fix it that won't include uninstalling the current version of iTunes?  Don't want to lose all my files!  Thanks for a rapid response, Community.  I appreciate all the help I can get.

  • Contacts missing after IOS 5 update

    I updated my Iphone 4 to the ios 5.  Everthing is there except my contacts.  I checks settings /iCloud and contacts is checked.  I think if I uncheck, my contacts will return?  not sure.  I am afraid to sync again, because I don't want to backup iphone with missing contacts overwriting my last backup etc.
    How can I get my contacts back and sync with the Cloud?

  • Sound became scratchy after a Realtek update

    I used Realtek sound drivers since I bought the laptop, Satellite A500-13F (Vista 32), and now after an update to 6.0.1.6029 sound became different and raspy. First I noticed this with voices when I was listening to a talk show on an online talk radio. Before the sound was always perfect without any issue, I'm listening to this online radio all the time and I know when the sound isn't okay. I tried rolling back to a previous driver but the sound didn't work anymore after a restart, so I updated again to this version and I tried using an equalizer to reduce the scratchy sound but it doesn't help much. Is there anything else I can do? I searched and someone had a similiar issue, they had 5.1 turned on instead of stereo. Where could I check which one is turned on? I don't see anything in Realtek HD Audio Manager. Or is it the HD causing this? Since I got this laptop it was strange that the sound driver is HD if it's just a laptop with two speakers.

  • Sound is missing after start-up, disable/re-enable of the audio device required

    Hi,
    I have a MSI K8N Diamond with onboard Creative Live 24! sound.
    Since last weeks I have a strange problem with the sound; when I start-up the PC after some hours of inactivity, I have no sound at all. I tried to see what's happening or to find a workaround and I discovered that I can get the sound back by disabling the audio device from the control panel, restarting the PC and then re-enabling the device.
    To explain the phrase "I have no sound" I can say the following: when I go to the control panel and open "Sounds and Audio devices", everything seems OK. But when I try to test for example the sound that will be used for the "Asterisk" (or whatever else), the small back triangle next to the sound name turns to a black square (normal) AND REMAINS BLACK SQUARE FOR EVER... (while normally it should turn again into a triangle within some seconds).
    I re-installed XP and all the updates from Microsoft, but the problem is still there. I checked the "event viewer" but there is nothing relevant. I also tested both the original drivers from my CD and the newer ones from the MSI site.
    Do you think this could be a hardware problem? An IRQ conflict probably? (I've seen that Creative uses the same IRQ with Sil3132). Any other ideas?

    So you reckon it to be a hardware issue... 
    OK, I'll open the case in the afternoon and have a good look inside. It's true that recently I did some work (added memory, changed a HD) so probably it deserves some time to see again if everything is in tact inside.
