Sound glitches

iv been experiencing problems with my sound in winxp pro. it happens whenever i try and install some software or run a scan in the background (nothing very intensive) and run winamp in the foreground to pass the time. what happens is that the music gets dragged out, slowed down. it never happens if im copyin or pasting some huge file just when installations are carried out.
i thought the problem was from my sound drivers but i got the lastest ones installed now, and the problem is still there. dont have the original msi motherboard cd with me. really pissing me off cause my ol p3 never gave me this sort of sht. neone with a similar prob??? im using onboard sound btw.....
if anyone has the link to the lastest sound drivers it'd be a help too, maybe mine are *ed up. thanks !
my specs are:
3400+,
1GB 400mhz Kingston,
400W PSU,
MSI K8T NEO FIS2R,

i have a dv7 6165us and i have the sound glitch at least 3 times an hour it glitches for 2 seconds and interupts music video and games lagging.Ive talked to hp and ive done everything possible listed.
    DRIVERS
    REINSTALL SYSYTEM
    TURN OFF DRIVEGUARD
TEST ISSUE WITH AC ADAPTER UNPLUGGED
    UPDATE BIOS
    HARD RESET SYSTEM
Ive tried everything and that annoying little glitch or pop or whatever is still there.the system is for my son for college so i dont have time to send it back to HP.does anyone and or HP have any suggestions.
By the way HP you are very quiet on these forums rarely interjecting with support.Whats the problem if youve solved this problem for only one person your system of support should be set up to pass these fixes on to other customers.Im not holding my breath for an answer but who knows maybe theres a HP tech who takes pride in there work thatll see this.
And if it is a known motherboard issue there should have been a recall and i never should have been sold a faulty machine.

    You're very welcome.
You do have a point, and I agree wholeheartedly.
I'm sure folks have brought this up in the past, but I don't know why HP doesn't provide some official presence on these forums.
Sometimes some of the HP employee forum members will do things like get driver pages added for models with no support pages, but I have rarely if ever, seen where an HP volunteer forum member takes a techinical issue and "runs it up the flagpole," as it were.
Have you tried this driver (6.10.6365.0 (11 Nov 2011)?
It's a newer version of the one on your notebook's support and driver page.

  • Sound glitch? file -LOST S2E1 "Man of Science, Man of Faith"

regarding the "Man of Science, Man of Faith" episode, (season 2 episode 1) the movie file purchased through the iTunes Music/Video store...
at around 9:48 into the episode, does one else hear that sound glitch? it's pretty much obvious. just wondering if it's just a problem with my file...
perhaps i need to download it again, maybe?
    thanks everyone.
    jp

A few people have reported this problem, and we are still tracking it down.
Meanbwhile, a new feature of iTunes 6.0 is resumable downloads. So you can cancel the download and retry later and iTunes will pick up where it left off. Try quitting iTunes which will stop the download, restarting your computer, and then do Check For Purchases in the Advanced menu in iTunes.

  • IOS 5 sound glitches on iPhone 3GS

Since I've upgraded to iOS 5 on my iPhone 3GS, I've been having some sound glitches whene listening to music.
Sometimes, when the song starts, I get a glitch (some kind 1 sec skip) which is really annoying. Are the notifications hard to process?
I don't have anything running on the phone persay. No bluetooth, mail checks every 15 minutes but doesn't seem to be checking when this happens.
What I find weird is, that it didn't do that before. I even tried rebooting the device, I started a song and the glitch came right back.
Something came to my attention, can the artwork of that song be tobig so the iPhone has a hard time loading a particular long?
If you experience samthing please post, if you have an answer please post alos.
    Thank you!

Yes I have the same issue. Just noticed it. It seems to happen with me after I have paused the track and the phone has locked it's self and then I go to restart the track and I get this glitch within the first 10-15secs of playback.
Pretty annoying and sure it did not do this before upgrading to iOS 5.

  • Windows 7 Update caused sound glitch

    Hello
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on a Dell Inspiron 1545.
I recently encountered an issue with my computer where there was some sort of memory leak that was causing constant freeze ups. Also, the sound on on any sort of media (iTunes, Netflix, youtube, etc.) would glitch every 30 seconds or so. By that I mean it
would sound as if the computer was lagging, but it was not always happening at the same times the computer freezing was.
After some research I determined that a Dell wireless driver was causing the memory leak, so I uninstalled it and the computer was no longer freezing up. However, the sound issue was still occuring. After a few days of great frustration, I decided to just
reformat my computer. The sound was working fine after the reformat, but then I installed all of the Windows updates and it is glitchy again.
I'm not sure what update did it as there were so many, but I uninstalled the service pack 1, but it didnt change anything, so I reinstalled it.
I have determined that it is a software issue and not hardware as if I plug headphones in I still get the glitch and when I did a Linux live boot, the sound worked fine.
I have run these tools, but they have found nothing:
    Windows Memory Diagnostic
    Windows performance troubleshooter
    Windows audio troubleshooter
    System File Check
    MalwareBytes, Microsoft Security Essentials, Avira
I have also installed every and any driver I can find, but nothing has changed.
I am not sure what caused the initial problem before I reinstalled Windows as I hadn't downloaded anything or installed any new programs in at least 2 weeks. I've had the laptop for over a year and had no issues with it. This may sound crazy, but on the
day of the initial memory issues, there were high levels of Aurora activity due to a large solar flare; I have heard that the electromagnetic interference can screw with technology, but that seems a little farfetched to me.
If anyone has even the slightest idea what it could be, please let me know. I have been trying to fix this for almost a month now.
    Thank you,
    Jesse Ferland

    Hi,
Regarding the issue, I would like to recommend you checking the issue in Safe Mode and let me know whether this issue occurs in Safe Mode.
Since you said this problem occurs after installing Windows Updates. I suggest you restore your machine to an earlier point then check the issue again.
Also you could contact your manufacture to check your sound card.
    Hope that helps

  • Sound glitch in portion of audio in timeline

I've recently been having a strange glitch in the audio portion of my FCE projects. Unfortunately, I didn't discover it until after DVDs had been burned.
This has happened when I have a timeline with nested sequences. When I scroll the playhead to the section of the timeline where the problem is, I can hear a loud popping/hum/static-y sound. The closest I could compare it to would be plugging and electric guitar into an ungrounded amp.
If I go within the sequence to play on the timeline within the sequence, I either get the same thing or it plays without a problem.
When I get to the part of the timeline where the problem is and play it within the timeline, it repeats a section of the audio from earlier in the timeline along with the audio that is matched with the correct video. It will play 1-2 seconds repeatedly.
I worked my way back to the anamorphized versions, the exported versions to the original timeline. I'm not sure if the problem happens upon export, since I don't usually listen to the outputted quicktime movies before I add them into iDVD.
Any ideas or has anyone else know how to resolve this?
    Thanks in advance

I was having the same issue. I thought my MAC had a hardware issue - When I would even try to lower or raise the volume using the F11 and F12 keys that popping sound would be there - It does sound like plugging in a line level mic with that popping sound. I did the Audio mixdown render prior to Exporting as a Quicktime format and it works. I did not have to do that when I had my old G4 Powerbook, but now I have to to this one extra step. Not sure if this is a fix that can be worked out in the future - Im still using Final Cut 3.5 - maybe there is a fix in a later version.
Final thoughts: Do a audio mixdown and your good to go.
    Cheers.

  • Internet videos - video and sound glitch. Flash player issue

    Hello,
Please watch the video which demonstrates what exactly is the issue because it's hard to explain:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVJm5ArYOh4
As you can see it's not the usual "green screen" issue i was trying to resolve. The video just interrupts and starts glitching by skipping it in big parts and making weird sounds.
It happens on Youtube, Vimeo etc.
I tried to reinstall flash player couple of times and used a different browser
Please help, it's second time im posting this =(

First can you check if same contents play fine with HTML5 but not with Flash Player? If you can't find HTML5 movie, please refer to this help doc:

  • Sound glitches after upgrading from win 2000 to win

    Hello!
I have this sound card since 2 years and never had any problems... but since I've upgraded from windows 2000 to windows xp, there's a lot of glitches in the sound coming from the card (it happens with all softwares I use). I'm using a sound blaster audigy 2 nx (latest drivers) on a P4 2GHz with 52 Mb Ram. Thanks in advance!

What version of the Oracle ODBC driver are you using? 8.01 is not a driver version-- it should be something like 8.1.7.x.y (assuming you're using one of the 8.1.7 Oracle ODBC drivers).
Since Oracle desupported the 8.1.7 database almost a year ago, do you have the option of upgrading the Oracle client to a supported release (probably 9.2 in your case)?
Unfortunately, I don't know what your particular problem is, but I have certainly seen problems mixing the latest and greatest versions of applications with older versions of the Oracle client.

  • IPhone 5 Sound Glitch

My iphone has recently started having audio problems. If I'm listening to music and lock my phone then press the standby button, the sound will glitch up for a few seconds then continue playing. I can attach an audio clip if needed. Also, my phone sometimes freezes when I slide on a banner on the lockscreen and type in my password.

    Hi, PogoStick29.
I would recommend closing any open applications in multitasking and restarting the device.  If unfamiliar with multitasking, I have included a screenshot on how to process an application close.  Test the results after processing these steps.
If the issue persist, here is a resource that walks you through some troubleshooting steps.

  • OS X Sound Glitch In ALL Games! Help!

    Hello,
Recently all of my games suddenly stopped making sound! I don't know what is going on. A few nights ago I installed some DivX Codecs, and an AC3 sound codec, I thought maybe that has something to do with it but I'm not sure. This is in all of my games, such as Wolfenstien: ET and Knights of the Old Republic etc...
Any and all help will be much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I solved the problem by reading up a little bit on the crash and the solution is to open Audio Midi setup utility and to set the output to 44100 Hz

  • Sound glitches in .MOV files.

I hope that this is the right place for this question - if it's not, please feel free to point me in the right direction.
I've recently started having trouble playing .MOV files, both from my hard drive and web pages. The video works fine, but the sound pops and stutters. This occurs on a variety of players, namely the Quicktime player and Media Player Classic. Windows Media Player and Zoom Player refuse to play them at all.
In addition to this, Max Payne and Max Payne 2 have extremely garbled in-game speech, in much the same manner as .MOV files.
My sound card is a C-Media CM8338, with the latest drivers. Would getting a newer card help? How about reinstalling Windows? Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Hi thanks! I didn't think they could fix such problems, should have thought of this myself! sorry *Feel embarrassed now* lol I've reported all of the relevant vids, just hope they help me! Thanks again!

  • ITunes Runaway Sound Glitch?

I just bought a new 15" Powerbook G4, quickly loaded about 8GB of my music onto the computer and am now having a strange problem... Every once in a while the music will start skipping (playing the same short part of a song over and over) while increasing in volume quite a bit (I think this even happens when the computer's volume settings are already as high as they can go). I first thought that this was a problem with individual songs from their original recording but it sounds the same with each song even comparing between different albums and even does so with the sound from like a flash game or something (this has happened once while playing sound from the game and from iTunes and the game skipped just like the iTunes song did). I haven't seen this happen unless iTunes was on so I am thinking it is an iTunes problem.
    help!

I found out this was caused by my drive spinning up from a stand still.

  • Strange "Whooshing" Sound glitch from Premiere CS6, then horrible errors.

About 3 out of 4 times when I try to either play a clip in the timeline, or load an audio clip into the source veiwer, Premiere makes a soft "whoosh" or sighing sound, and completely locks up.  When this happens, ALL sound on my computer goes dead.  I can't play audio from any other program or source.  Usually, Premiere let's me start interacting with it again after 5-10 seconds, and sound generally comes back after 30-60 seconds, but the issue happens again as soon as I try to do anything with my project, and sometimes it requires a hard reset to fix.
This has made editing nearly impossible.  I've been editing video professionally for about 2.5 years, but I'm completely self taught and new to premiere, and I don't know if there's something small and basic I'm totally ignorant of that would fix this.
    I'm running  CS6 on a PC with...
    Windows 7 64 bit
    Phenom II X4 965
    Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Titanium
    8 gig RAM
    Plenty of hard drive space
    No other open programs
Radeon HD7950 (I know Premiere can't use it).

Sound Driver http://www.asio4all.com/ has fixed problems for other people... I have NOT used it, so you will have to search the forum for help
If that does not work, and your motherboard has integrated sound, remove your sound card and driver and test with the motherboard sound

  • HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC. Sound Glitch!

    Windows 7
    Serial number: {Private Information Removed}
    Product number: QC333PA#ABG
When I plug the charger into the notebook, the normal sound from the notebook (such as music, audio ect) disappears and instead I get this constant "tick" pulse every halfsecond untill the notebook is restarted WITHOUT the charge pluged in.
I recently went on a software purge and got rid of everything and anything which I thought could be the cause of such a strange bug and the "ticking" stoped for a day or two and it only came back?!
The "ticking" pulses are audio only, and can be heard either in headphones or from the speakers. But no other audio can be heard at the same time. At full volume there is only a loud constant "tick" pulse every half-second.
    So... any advice?
