Sound has static when dongle is connected.
Whenever I connect my dongle the sound contains a lot of static and sometimes even videos slow down. This problem persists even when I wear a headset. I am unable to watch any videos online. However when I remove my dongle the sound becomes normal and their
is no problem. This doesn't happen when I connect other USB devices.
Please can someone provide a solution?

Browser sound not working when webcam is connected
Hi,
The other day I got a USB logitech webcam and I was able to get it working on my arch Linux. However, I'm having problems with the sound. When I plug in my webcam to my computer, there won't be any problem if my computer was already running, but if I plug in my USB webcam before starting my computer, the sound for browsers won't work at all. I thought it was Flash related issue, but I noticed that Chromium cannot play html5 videos, either. On the other hand, Amarok and other applications have no problem with the sound.
My other issue is with the volume manager. My keyboard has a button for adjusting the volume, but if my webcam is connected, it won't be able to adjust the volume for my speakers. When I try to use this button, the picture for volume adjustment shows up with an empty bar.
I think there's a conflict between my PCI sound card and the microphone of my USB webcam. Any idea how to resolve this issue?
ThanksIt's not the browser issue. It's an issue with the order of the cards.
Sometimes The webcam goes as HW0 and the system try to use that rather than your sound card.
Quickest fix:
Edit /etc/modprobe.d/sound.conf
Add:
alias snd-card-0 snd-whatso-ever
alias sound-slot-0 snd-whatso-ever
Where snd-whatso-ever is your... sound card.
To find it use:
ls -l /sys/module/snd/holders

Recently, I think after the most recent kernel upgrade, VLC has had audio static in all the videos I play. These same video files will not have the static if they are played with MPlayer. Running VLC from the terminal shows no errors. Any suggestions on how to fix this, or any others with a similar problem?

The volume is acting weird when I play music or videos, ie pandora and youtube...and any other app as we'll.
If the above doesn't work, try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings will be reset. -

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I have an Airport Express connected via optical toslink to a dac/amp in turn connected to speakers. When using iTunes I get message "no speakers connected to Airport Express" and audio sound has drop outs.
Ok, if you are connecting the AirPort Express Base Station (AX) to the existing wireless network, then the DSL in the next room is most likely a combination DSL modem and wireless router. Thanks for clarifying that for me.
Although they may only be separated by a single wall, the building material used in that wall may be enough to prevent the AX from receving a "good" signal from the DSL router.
Since I don't know what computing equipment you have available, please check out this AirPort User Tip: AirPort - Optimal Base Station Placement to see if you can get some SNR measurements at the location of your AX. To do this properly, you will want to power-off the AX and only get these measurements for the DSL router. -
When i tried updating my iphone 4 to the latest IOS version 7.1.1 it was updating until the end of the update where it had an icon which said connect to itunes. When i try connecting to itunes on my laptop it still doesnt program, by the way my itunes has the latest updae. Why is this? How can i fix it?

It sounds like you had been updating the phone and now it is in recovery mode. Take a look at this info first:
If you started your device in recovery mode by mistake, restart it to exit recovery mode. Or you can just wait—after 15 minutes the device will exit recovery mode by itself.

Output sound distortion when USB Mic Connected
Hi everyone,
Really appreciate anyone’s help on this sound distortion problem.
I have been using the new 2014 iMac 27' for last 8 Months, bought Brand New, and recently updated to Yosemite. Everything worked fine including recording, until this update.
I'm using Blue Yeti USB Mic for recording, and few days after the update I was trying to record in GarageBand and the output sound (via headphone connected to USB MIc) started to distort and then suddenly dropped the bitrate/ sound and I could only hear some clicks. I reinstalled the GargeBand, still its the same distortion happens. The sound gets back to normal, only for few seconds, after I unplug the USB cable from the Mic device. And I tried changing the bit rate and again sounds starts to drop after few sec. This happens only when I connect the Blue Yeti USB Mic and sound output from the Mic itself. Same thing happens with iTunes as well. Output sound from Internal mic and speakers are working fine as normal.
I tried connecting the USB Mic to my Windows laptop and its working fine with the Cubase 5 without any problem. So the problem is with the output sound, when external Mic connected.
I don’t know the solution for this. Have checked on every single blog/ thread, sill couldn’t find the answer I’m looking for, to fix this.
It would be great if you have any kind of a solution for the same.

Transport:Nope. The larger buffer didn't work. What did work was running a cord out of the 1/4-inch jack from the direct box to a 1/4-to-1/8-inch adapter and then into the mic/line-in jack on my computer. I set GarageBand to use the built-in line-in and had no static problems. It's a stopgap until this gets fixed.

Hi, recently purchased macbook 13", I have problem with sound when connect to my LG Smart tv with sound system. When i change sounds effect on my sound system also LG its all go quiet didn't have this problem with my laptop. Any advise ?
Some progess I see. To be honest, i would not waste your time with trying to connect using wireless.
You are likely to get poor connections and dropping out.
If its working using a cable, then there is no need to bother with giving me the network settings, bu see how it goes, because sometimes giving the TV a static IP address can give better results.
There is an example of a couple of powerline adapters on the diagram below. Just ignore the network switch unless you want to connect other devices which are near to the TV.

ipod problems
My ipod sounds as if it has interference when on docking station....3 other apple devices work with no such problems, i.e a nano. a classic and 2 separate iphones so the problem doesn't seem to be the docking station...I have been given 2 reolacement ipods and the sound persists....it is obviously the connection.....as before downloading any data on the new ipod I docked it and the noise was present ....mairiskye....- Is it a 4G iPod? That model sometimes mates poorly with dock because the configuration of the iPod by the dock connector is different that other devices. Thus, make sure it is fulld/seated in the dock.

Lost my Itouch month ago. Tried finding using find my iPhone app. It shows your device is off line. Will play sound or notify when online. Can I locate the position or location of my Itouch without connections to wifi or even if it's switched off or betters is total drained off

Sound drops off when using hdmi outport to connect computer to an AV reciever
Satellite M640,I5 2410 processor, windows 7HP. After about three minutes the sound drops off when connected to the av reciever through the hdmi outport. If I touch the trackpad the computer reconnects for another three minutes and then disconnects. If I touch the the trackpad about every two minutes the computer stays connected indefinetly. This problem does not occur if I use the computer to play an audio CD. Any fix suggestions.

try to repair your permission by open application folder > utilities > disk utility > repair permission.
It should fixed the unexpectedly quit for several applications.

Hi. I have an iPhone 4 with iOS7 and no data plan. When I am not connect to wifi I don't receive iMessages, but then when I do connect to wifi I get the messages telling me they were sent earlier. Is there any thing I can do to fix it? I don't remember how long this has been happening but it is very frustrating. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!!!
If you don't have a cellular data plan, then why are you expecting that you will have an active internet connection unless you are connected to wi-fi?
iMessages require either wi-fi or a cellular data connection. -
My sound has recently gone on my iphone4s, this only happens when I use my phone myself. The sound works when i receive a call or a message etc but I am unable to watch videos or play music, the sound also doesn't work on games. Please can anyone help with this issue or let me know how to fix it if experienced the same problem?
Remove all apps from multitasking bar. Double click Home button then tap and hold an icon and tap on little x on every app. Then reset. Hold down Home and Power button until Apple logo appears.

MacBook Air intermittently has issues connecting to websites when wireless shows connected to the internet. The pages show that I am offline, but I can ping Google DNS. Windows PC, iPhone and Android phone have no issue displaying the same web pages.How do I solve this issue?
Go step by step and test.
1. Power off the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait a while.
Plug it back to the wall. Power the router on. Wait until all the lights are lit properly. It will take a while.
Restart the computer.
