Sound imported but not audible

Imported quick time .mov file including audio - want to edit video
but can't hear audio. If send to iDVD - sound is there. When play .mov file in QuickTime - sound is there. Sound file is visible in
iMovie - just not audible. Any suggestions? Please advise. Running out of ideas.

Thought we had it licked Sue but NO. The next problem I encountered was when I put the "themes" on and clicked to burn the IDVD it said there weren't any clips, meanwhile they were sitting on the screen. I finllaly called Apple got someone who really didn't understan Imovie at all I think. Called back again after trying a few things on my own and was told that I probably had some corruption and to do a reinstall. Did that now it comes up telling me about 15 different plugins are missing. I'm in worse shape than before. Have no idea where the plugin are found. Gonna call Apple again when I have some time. In the meantime I just won't be able to edit.

Iphone cacert root certificate imported but not verified

Hi,
When I import the cacert.org root certificates to iphone 6.1.3 the profile shows as imported but "not verified" - anyone else had the same issue / found a solution?
I have tried direectly importing rom the cacert/org website and also installing via the apple configuration utility.

What I used command is as following

Imported Audio CD, two songs imported but not included on album with rest of songs

I just bought an Audio CD "Red River Blue", Artist Blake Shelton. I imported the CD into my iTunes library.
The CD has 11 songs on it. All 11 songs were imported into my iTunes library. Two of the songs had additional artists listed on the credits.
Track 7 Blake Shelton with Martina McBride and Track 11 Blake Selton with Miranda Lambert.
These two songs were imported into my library but not included in the Album. They were labeled with their correct track number and the album was missing a song for track 7 and track 11. There was no cover artwork associated with those songs.
When I moved the album to a playlist these two songs were not included.
This is clearly an error in the current iTunes!
Back before iTunes had the new visual format and new user interface I did not have this problem.
I have reviewed all the preferences for iTunes but can not find any that would seem to control this behavior. I can not conceive that importing a cd should work this way.
I tried to find a way to correct this situation and found that if you did get info on all 11 songs you could force them to be included on one album.
The resulting album did not show track 7 in the correct order and the two tracks were still missing the cover artwork.
I believe that in one of the iTunes updates that required a library conversion all my albums that had this situation were converted wrong so they broke apart songs from their albums.

ITunes adds duplicate songs when importing but not making copies in the iTunes Media folder?

This is an irregular problem and does not happen at every new import, but every now & again iTunes is creating duplicate files entries for the same song when I import my music folder.
Now I know many people post a similar problem, but before we start can I state that both the 'Keep iTunes Media folder organized AND "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library are turned off, and always have been.
Right clicking on duplicates of a particular song proves that iTunes is not copying the file into it's own media folder and adding that to the library.
All listed entries for a particular song iTunes direct you to the same file in the same location in the finder.
I am currently just having to delete the duplicates everytime it makes them, although this is VERY time consuming!
Any ideas on what is causing it or what will fix the problem would be great!

Nevermind...I figured out my issue. The problem is that I'm an idiot.
When dragging my folders in, they not only had MP3 files, but a M3U file as well. iTunes was importing the M3U playlist, then the MP3s...that's how I was getting my dups.

'Preview unavailable' on LR4 import, but not in LR3!

I get 'preview unavailable for this file' when attempting to import files from my Panasonic Lumix DMC LX3 - even though the same images show up fine on import preview for Lightroom 3!??
I have Lightroom 3 AND 4 on my machine at the minute, running OSX Lion on Mac, and if I have the same card in the same card reader - I see soem unimported file previews with 3, but not with 4!
What the hell - older version seems to work better than the new one!!
Any ideas / tips / suggestions much appreciated...

Sorry, no reply yet, although some people seem to be trying the LR4 beta to try and circumvent the same issue...

D750 raw files are noisy on import - but not in DXO - or NX or even OnOne. So I'm having to import into NX then export at tiff files. Cost me sizable disk space and time.

poor imports on D750 raw files.. at iso 800 and above can't even use them.. however if I import into NX then export as tiff it works fine.

If you feel the D610 was doing ok in the same situation where the D750 was not, then upload and post both a D750 and a D610 NEF—taken under comparable conditions if possible.
Nikon software NX will export things with whatever NR the camera was set to. DxO probably tries to optimnize both Sharpening and Noise-reduction, whereas Lightroom will process things in whatever way the Adobe defaults are set to, regardless of what the camera settings for NR were.
Is it possible you have different default Sharpen settings, or at least the Sharpen Mask increased, for the D610 but not for the D750? The Mask slider will prevent relatively smooth areas with only noise as the detail from being sharpened.

Video importing, but not audio

Hello-
When importing files into final cut, the audio on some of the footage does not import. anybody know why? the file types m-peg from my sony handycam. they play with audio on the VLC player but not in final cut.

There are a few versions of MPEG, yours most likely have multiplexed audio.
Working with any kind of MPEG based material in FCP is a terrible hassle. It needs to be transcoded to an editing codec such as those listed in FCP's Easy Setup menu.
So.... where do your files come from, a camera? Tell us the manufacturer and model.
Someplace else? Please specify so that we can advise on the best way to proceed.
It would also be useful to know which version of Final Cut Pro, QuickTime and Mac OS X you are using.

Sound works but not when playing music

When i turn on my computer it makes the start up sound. But when i try to play music out of itunes or off the internet, the sound wont work. I know its on, but no sound is coming from the speakers. i have an hp G71

Photos are appearing in Last Import but not in Last 12 months

When I import photos from my camera into iPhoto they appear under "Events" and "Last Import" but no under Last 12 months. Is there a way to correct this?

What are the dates of the photos? Last "n" months is a list of photos taken in the last "n" months irrespective of when they were mported. Typically your question is due to incorrect camera dates

Audio imports, but not video

Haven't ran into this prob before, so seems strange that it's happening now. When I attempt to import video into FCE, it all looks like it's going fine. I see the video, click capture, then press "escape" when I'm done with the import. Problem is the imported file is only audio. I've looked at the imported file(s) in finder and opened in QuickTime. Sure enough, just sound. No video.
I've edited about 10 projects this year using FCE with all of this same equipment, but have never had this problem.
I've made several attempts at troubleshooting this afternoon, but problem still not solved.
Because I was curious, I attempted to import the same video into iMovie 06 (again, using all of the same equipment). No prob. Video successfully imported with audio.
I even followed one thread's suggestion and got rid of some QT files in Receipts folder, then reinstalled QT. Did not solve problem.
I've unplugged everything, then restarted computer (twice). But that hasn't worked.
I've looked at Sequence settings to confirm that video's accounted for, and everything appears to be in order.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate reading them. I suspect I've overlooked something simple.
I should probably point out that I have not performed any recent upgrades to my OS.

Thanks so much. Trashing preferences worked. Wasn't sure what that meant, but googled it and found a helpful page. Just now succeeded at importing a video clip. As a slight aside, thumbnails now appear in browser, whereas text did previously. And borders/letterbox in viewer now appear gray instead of black. I realize these must be simple settings and I will hunt them down.
Thank you so much. After reading your initial reply, I'd suspected I was going to have to do a reinstall (not terribly difficult, as I've done it once before).

When I plug in my ipod touch the sound works but not the video

I got this app for my kids and I want to play it on my tv the sound works not the video. But when I put the same app on my iphone 4s it works fine on my tv using same cord etc I don't know if there is something I need to do to my ipod to make it work.

The 4G iPod TV (video) out only works with apps that support TV out. The Video app is one such app. The iPhone 4S (and later iPhones, the 5G iPod and iPad 2 and later) on the other hand can mirror the iPod's screen for TV out.

Why are there problems getting notification alerts and sounds in ipadv3. My settings are set exactly like my iPad 1 and all alerts and sounds appear but not on new iPad. Very frustrating. I have rebooted and reset several times. Hate to have to make A

Do you have system sounds muted? Check the button above your volume control on the right hand side of the iPad. If, when you change the button you see mute on your screen, you'll restore system sounds. If you see lock orientation, you can restore system sounds by double tapping your home button to bring up the task bar (most recently used apps). With your finger swipe those apps all the way to the right to reveal a mute icon on the left. Touch that icon and you'll restore system sounds.
Let us know if that was the issue.

Photos imported but not written to disk

Strange Problem - normally I import from my CF card, copy as DNG as write out to an external USB drive.
Lightroom normally creates a folder on the USB drive and the DNG files are there.
For some reason the photos are in the catalog, BUT..... not found as a folder on my disk.
Running OSX Yosemite, LR5 - all up to date - what is happening???

Yes this folder is hidden by default. But I thing you can get to it by going to the "Go" menu item then select Go To Folder and type in that name alone with the path. So it would look something like this ExternalDriveName/.fseventsd. But I just tried that on the Macintosh HD partition and all it shows in that folder, greyed out, with a - (Minus) sign with it, lower right hand corner of the Folder icon.
If you still have those images on your memory card I suggest you Copy those images to your external drive in a folder of your choosing/liking and then in LR try importing them again from the folder you placed them in.

OIM Event handler resistered and Imported but not working
