Sound in only one ear?

I mainly use my logitech headsets (G35 & G930 Both 7.1 Gaming headsets) to listen to audio from my computer. Any audio coming from firefox such as a youtube video for example, The sound only outputs into one ear, My right ear more specifically. It's bothering me a lot. This problem doesn't exist for me in google chrome, IE, or even opera. The sound otherwise works perfectly outside of firefox. The way to somewhat fix the problem is to enable 7.1 on my headset. But depending on the audio im listening to it can make it sound "Not right". Is there a way i can fix it so the audio gets outputted into both ears properly?

  • Youtube , sound in only one ear?

Why does my logitech G430 only have sound in one ear (right) and very very low sound in (left)
I have reinstalled and checked every setting. tried the same thing with google browser and on that one i have SOUND in BOTH? so whats wrong with Firefox?

'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * Open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
    Report back with the results.

  • Sound in only one ear of headset

I get sound out of only one speaker of my headset.  (I have two headsets; same problem with both.  Yesterday I went into the control panel and reset the audio to the default setting.  That worked yesterday.  But when the same problem reappeared today, again I went back to the control panel and clicked on the reset-to-the-default setting, but this time nothing happened.  Any ideas? Thanks.

Just clean the pop-port on your phone and the contacts on the headset.
Use a cotton tip with a few drops of isopropyl alcohol on it but be careful not to bend the contacts on the headset.

  • IPOD Classic 30GB Sound in only one ear-Not a headphone issue! Help...

    Hi,
I have the classic IPOD and have had it for 13 months. Go figure, warrantee is now up. Anyhow, the sound in one ear just stopped working. I thought it was the headphones but it's not. I can not find any settings in the menu for the balance on it.
    Any have this happen?
    Tara

Disregard the other 2 users. One sounds like an idiot and the other told you its unfixable when, it is in fact, fixable.
You simply need a replacement headphone jack. The problem is one of the contacts in your headphone jack (the metal that touches the plug on your headphones) got bent/damaged/etc. Replacing the headphone jack should do the trick.
If you want a DIY project, these jacks are about $15-25 including shipping on eBay. Heres an example of what you need (note this is not my auction):

You can probably get it sent somewhere for servicing as well. You also have various options of trading it in or selling it, etc.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
EDIT: By the way, your iPod is a 5th Generation iPod (a.k.a. iPod with video)

  • Headphones only provide sound out of one ear phone

Hi, I've got a 17" flat panel iMac running 10.4.2. I recently purchased a pair of good (Grado SR80) headphones for general use. When I plug them in to the Mac's headphone port, I get sound out of one ear phone only. Nothing out of the other. The supplied Apple speakers work fine, however, with sound from both speakers. Any idea how I can get the phones to play normally? I'm really disappointed. The headphone port couldn't possibly be monoaural could it? Or so underpowered it won't power a pair of phones?
    robert

I only have one pair! The speakers work perfectly on my small JVC mini stereo set (which only has 10W of power). The speakers are plugged into the little speaker port on the iMac (I think the Apple iMac speaker jack is non-standard). The headphones were plugged into the headphone jack. I checked the Audio control panel. The settings are fine.

  • My Ipod is 5-6 years old.  Suddenly, I'm getting audio through only one ear bud.  Is this a common occurrence?  And does this just mean I need to replace them?

My Ipod touch is 5-6 years old.  Suddenly, I'm receiving audio through only one ear bud.   Is this a common occurrence?  And does this just mean I need to replace them?

It's fairly common for headphones after extensive use (5+ years).  If you have another set of headphones (any type with same connector), try it with the iPod to determine if the fault is on the headphones or on the iPod.  Or you can try the same headphones with another device, to see if they are working fine or you get the same audio problem.

  • Does anyone have the problem of only one ear plug working on the life case for iPhone?

I have a life case for my iPhone...when I add my earphones to it, only one ear phone works...?

What troubleshooting steps have you taken?
    Try these:
    - Quit the App by opening multi-tasking bar, and swiping the App upward to make it disappear.  (For iOS 6, holding down the icon for the App for about 3-5 seconds, and then tap the red circle with the white minus sign.)
    - Relaunch the App and try again.
    - Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    - Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
    - Reset All Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings)
    - Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)
    - Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137  For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.

  • Can only hear sound out of one ear in iPod 30gb

My nephew can only hear sound from one ear of his headphones.
    1) he's not becoming deaf and we've tried multiple pairs of headphones that give the SAME result.
    2) the volume settings are correct, so its not that.
What are the options here? Is there a known fix? If its a hardware issue, can Apple do anything (free under warranty or repair with charge)?
    Thank you for your help!

  • Line-in sound from only one chan

    Hi,
I have a problem with my new Audigy 2 ZS gamer card. I use my PC as a second TV and have the sound from the satellite box fed into the line-in jack; however, only the right channel comes through. The microphone jack works fine for both channels but the sound quality is not as good. I borrowed an identical card from a friend for testing and I get the same problem with hers - except with hers the left channel plays. Playback from pre-recorded sources is fine. The problem does not seem to be with the hardware and re-installing the drivers has not helped. Any thoughts?Message Edited by Jasperdog on -23-2004 07:05 PM

    hi all,
just found this thread whilst looking for a solution of my problem : got an audigy ls and tried to record from a (analog) camcorder that i hooked to my tv card. the camcorder has two stereo cable/out but the audigy only one line in, hence i bought a (stereo) adapter to plug in these two lines and convert them to one. result is that i got sound on the right channel only, just like jasperdog. same prob comes up when i link my vcr to the audigy, best to my knowledge the vcr is mono. worked out well with my previous soundblaster li've! did not really get the point with the stereo adapter plug, do they sell these things for mono also ? any chance to change some settings in the driver ?
    any suggestions ?
    thanks in advance !
Its hard to know why this is happening, but my guess would be, your adapter could be in mono. How many black stripes are there? One or two?
The Line-In is should be Stereo, I see no reason why Creative would want to switch to Mono for this card when their older SB Li've is stereo.
Just to make sure, when you meant two stereo cable out, did you meant the White and Red RCA cable?

  • I have tried loads of headphones and on them all i have the same problem only one ear i can get sound out of can this be fixed?

Has anyone else had this problem?
My ipod has been working perfectly for years and all of a sudden i have gone through three sets of headphones at least in the last month, i have discovered that it is a problem with where the headphones go......no idea what the name of it is so can anybody please help me dont really want to get a new ipod as this is perfect bar this one thing....thanks

Try to play it on a iPod Docking station, if it is okay, then you need to clean the iPod earphone jack hole, with paper clip, entwined with wool soaked in a small amount of alcohol.
Or just blow a jet of compressed air into the hole, if you got those camera kit with a rubber air pump.
If it is still one sided, on the iPod dock, then, does the same song, play normally on the iTunes?
    Have a nice day!
