Sound in video not in sync

I just recently purchased Lenogo DVD to Ipod coversion software, and it converted the videos BUT the sound is faster than the movie. IS there any way to fix this problem? Also, sometimes the video jumps and a little choppy. Any suggestions?

apologies if I happen to ask something already treated elsewhere (I searched and didn't find)!
I'm having the following problem with my 3rd gen Nano: in movies longer than around 20-25 min sound and image progressively get out of sync. The sound runs ahead of the picture - after around 45 min the shift can be several seconds. The video is encoded with EyeTV (the "iPod best" setting) in H.264 at 640x480, 25fps, around 1.6 Mbps. This should - according to the nano specs - be fine.
Has anyone else come across this?
Does anyone know of a fix?

OS/CPU/RAM/GPU/vRAM ... version of PrPro ... and other programs or plugi-ins/3rd-party apps involved ... footage type/codec/wrapper ... such things would be very useful.

Itunes does not play video properly - sound or video out of sync

About 6 months ago, all of a sudden my itunes for windows starts to play my movies or tv shows improperly. Video is frozen while the sound plays. Or the exact reverse happens. Apple showed me to uninstall fully and reinstall Itunes, which worked once. Couple of months later the same happens again. I tried again a proper uninstall and reinstall but to no avail.
I have been using Itunes for windows for the last 4 years and nothing ever went wrong like this. Now the only way to see my video is to sync to my iphone.
Anyone have this problem? I've read about the codex issues that can cause problems. I tried some of the fixes and nothing works.
Even says that the firewall or virus programs can interfere - I'm surprised if that would be a cause.
I have a recent laptop with windows 7 premium, 64bit. When I bought it about 1.5 years ago I had no problem with Itunes.

You synced the sd version to the ipods?
You can report the issue to itunes. They should resolve within a day.

Nokia 6131 video not in sync with sound

After a year of working just fine, my Nokia 6131 video picture is not in sync with the sound when I play it back on the phone or when I download it to my pc to view.
At first the problem was only when I played it back on the phone, but was fine on the pc. Now it's distorted on both.
The video picture seems to be on fast forward but the sound runs smoothly. My video's are always less than five mins long.
Please can anyone help me to resolve this frustrating problem?

hey KatieGirl, i too had the same problem with my old nokia 6288. have you tried turning off your phone and restarting it, this usually helps in alleviating choppy video playback. if this is still resulting in **bleep** playback on your phone and pc, then i would suggest searching for a software update via Nokia Software Updater, if there is no update, then i would suggest re-flashing your phone with the same version firmware again. p.s. remember to backup all your data before flashing your phone with firmware.
failing all this, then i would suggest taking your phone to your nearest Nokia Care Centre or authorised service repair centre, as there may be a fault with your phone hardware itself.

I've been having some difficulties with audio and video being in sync with FCP 7. The video is from a blackberry playbook and I have converted it to prores 422LT using MPEG Streamclip. It plays fine on quicktime, but once it goes into fcp, the audio is delayed by half a second. I've also used compressor to convert it with the same result. Here are the specs for the converted file.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Can it be so that Your - Start-Up (boot) (Mac OS) Hard Disk is going full - I never go less than 25GB free space on this one. Others do not count.
Can it be so that Your FC pref. file got corrupted - trash it (when FC is not up and running) and see if it plays OK now

Hello. No matter what I do, Soundtrack Pro's audio and video are not in sync. Audio always comes a slight bit later which makes working in STP really hard. I run STP with a Decklink Extreme, for both audio and video. Any tips?

well i had the same post. kinda. but yeah it is totally limited as a film scoring app, who would have thought. there isn't any way to offset the sync.
Logic would be your best bet, or Pro Tools with DV kit.

5G iPod Audio and Video not in Sync

I bought an iPod 30 GB a couple of days before. I was trying to download a movie to it which is in MP4 format. The original movie was in AVI format and I used Videora iPod converter to convert AVI -> MP4, but when I try to view the movie in my iPod the Audio and Video are not in Sync at al. The audio is way ahead of the video. Please someone let me know how to fix this problem. I turned off Equalizer and all other fancy settings in the iPod but it still didn't help.

some encoders have this problem occasionally. I've seen it very frequently in ffmpex when the source is avi. not sure what you're using, but so I'd suggest you try a different software. I'm getting very good results out of handbrake or 42.

Try (free) Quicktime Broadcaster and see if it improves the sync. Is it out of sync from the first second or after a long period of time?

Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there, some things will change it for their own use, then not set it back.

No sound playing videos - not finding answer

Hi, any help would be greatly appreciated.
A few months ago movies played in QT stopped having sound - the video is fine, but there is no audio. I got an error message that told me I was missing a third-party component for QT, and directed to a site that had about ten, without any hint as to which one of them I needed.
After looking through the discussion threads, I downloaded VLC, thinking it might help, but I'm not sure. I tried ctrl-clicking on the movie to "Open this link", but it is inactive. Do I have to download the movies to get them to play in VLC? Does anyone have any suggestions as to which third-party component I'm missing?

I just visited Salon (first time) and had no trouble with the first QT .mov file I found:

The page does have some errors (no closing embed tag) and the .mov file uses 48kHz audio (too high for Web use).
But it is AAC audio and worked just fine on my Mac mini.
I suspect some third party software conflict. You can test by visiting the Site while logged in as a different user.

Imported Video not in sync with sound. Video in slow motion...

I am fairly new to Premiere and I wanted to spend some time playing around with it. When I import my videos, the playback is out of sync. The sound is normal but the video is in slow motion so it doesnt sync together. Am I missing something? Using Premiere Pro CS4 and filmed it on a Sony Xacti with MPEG4 AVC sequence.

Glad that you got some material to practice with. That was your goal here.
Now, file conversions from compressed source material will usually not yield great quality. Unfortunately, the conversion process, unlike what some would love to believe, does not restore quality to the compressed material. It only changes some of the characteristics, but imporved quality is not one of them. Also, depending on the actual conversion program used, the quality can suffer even more. This is a fact of life in Video.
Now, when you go to get your camera, there are many great threads on many camera makes and models already posted. If you cannot find info on your considerations, post to get recommendations, based on your budget and what you wish to use the camera for. I'm not positive, but I think that the new Equipment sub-forum would be a good place to ask. Previous posts will not be there yet, but will be in the general forum. Many, but obviously not all, cameras have been discussed in length, and their pluses and minuses have been debated.

6085 video issue -- Video not in sync with sound

I have a Nokia 6085. Not the best phone, I know, but it's cheap. Anyway, I can convert video files to compatible MP4 or 3GP just fine. My phone will play them just fine, up to a point. After about a minute, the video starts lagging behind the sound more and more. I've done some research on this forum, but not come up with a single straight answer. I cannot use SmartMovie or other players, as the Nokia 6085 runs in the J2ME environment. I've tried to update my phone, but Nokia's software says there are no updates for my phone. I've used files I've converted myself using various bitrates, codecs, etc. I've found in various places on this forum. I've used videos converted by others that apparently work on their devices. No difference. Any idea on how I can fix this? Thanks in advance.

All right. After much experimentation with SUPER and some researching through Google, I managed to fix my issue. Everyone else who had this issue merely said, "Issue fixed." I'll post my results in case anyone else has this issue:

Sound and Video not sync

Hi I do have a Brand New Samsung PN51F5300 not smart TV hook it to a MC572LL/A Apple TV box, When I turn TV and Apple box after 30-40 minutes video is not syncronize with audio, video is faster, I've called Samsung and sent me a software update (thumb drive) on the mail and I have already updated and problem still remains I have tried hook the TV with another cable systems ( Comcast and Road runner) and and have not had any problems, I've tried to lower the resolution on the Apple TV box but th eonly option I do have is 720p, Tv is fine what can I do to resolve this issue, please help!!!!

I have the same tv and an Apple TV 3 (I dont recall if it is the original or Rev.A) and I get an audio lag through in-tv speakers. I use one HDMI cable for audio and video. I seem to notice it throughout and not just after 30 minutes. I can't figure out a work around. Although, I did purchase a home theater system so I will be using an AVR for audio soon.
