The ringtones are working but all other sounds are not working please help

I had this problem on my iPod Touch 4g. Just press the home and sleep button. Wait and it will give an iTunes and cable logo. Now you can put in DFU mode (Hold Sleep and Home button 10 seconds and then release the power button kand keep pressing on the home button.) Now you will be able to restore it in iTunes.
If you didn't sell it in al this time

Until you have tried Maps, Music, etc. first hand, I wouldn't formulate negative opinions about them. And updates, if performed correctly, do not erase data.
I presume that last time you updated through iTunes. This time, update over Wi-Fi by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

  • Sounds 4s gone with 7.0.3

My iphone 4s after last update 7.0.3 sound only works for calls, all other phone sounds are gone, I can only listen with headphones or connected to a speaker, do not know what else to do.

I'm with Vodafone Germany too. But as the problem occurs with WiFi too it can't be carrier issue I guess.

So just to be clear on a few things:
Should partitioning the hard drive not work is it undoable?
Will this have any impact on doing a complete erase and reinstall and will that restore it back from the process?
Is there a limited amount of space that makes this process ineffective?
I have never had to do this sort of thing so I just want to be sure I don;t wind up in the dog house *)
    Thanks again

  • When I plug my iphone 4s into the usb in my car, text and notifications sounds are gone.

When I plug my iphone 4s into the usb in my car, text and notifications sounds are gone.  The phone only vibrates, no sound.  The ringer works fine, and the music plays through the stereo system just fine.  When I try to turn up the volume, the ringer shows on the screen, but it will not increase in volume.  When I unplug the usb, everything works fine.  I have tried different cords and different cars, all with the same result.  This only happens in the car, when hooked up to the usb in the house or to the computer, everything works fine.  When plugged into the car, the sound disappears.  Any ideas?

My guess is a loose connection.
I suspect you are correct.  I would suggest you bring it to a repair facility that may have better diagnostic tools, preferably an Apple store genius bar.
    Ciao.

  • Ny new apple computers sound is gone

my new apple computers sound is gone what can i do to get it back ?

Provided you haven't muted it (F10 key, can check in System Preferences /  Sound), and you have recently used headphones or any device that plugs into the jack, peek and see if there's a dot of light at the bottom.

  • Installed Lion now sound is gone

the sound is gone installed mountain lion last night help?

If you haven't already, I would open your Applications folder>System Preferences>Sound>click on the "Output" tab in the center>click on "Internal Speakers"> at the bottom of the window, slide the "Volume" slider all the way to the Right>and make sure that the "Mute" box is NOT checked.

  • Sound is gone for iTune videos that convert to iPod

I have a problem. I load movies into iTunes, and they work. But as soon as I convert them for iPod, the sound is gone. It's not just one file, its all of them. Something must be wrong with iTunes cause I know more than that should work.

    Parkram412,
You can always contact tech support: http://www.apple.com/support/contact/
Do any videos play correctly in iTunes? If there is a problem with iTunes playing all videos this article: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303706 may help
Videos that did not come from the iTunes store are going to be harder to troubleshoot because there are many ways the video's could have been created. Another article that has good information on video conversion for the iPod is: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302892

  • After getting my screen repaired at apple store, my sound has gone strange.

after getting my screen repaired at apple store, my sound has gone strange. Has anyone else had that problem? how could i fix it? Its harder to hear and it sounds strange.

    Hey Paul,
Sadly no, I don't think it will get resolved any time. Do you have the exact same issues?
Please let me know if you solve it. Did you contact Apple support? What did they say?
    THanks

  • App sounds are gone?

My app sounds are gone, music works but none of the others?

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085

  • IMac sound is gone, what shall I do???

I still have the start up sound, other than that the machine is completely quite.
The speaker sign at upper right is grey.
When I use keyboard shortcut to do volume adjustment, it shows a small disable sign at bottom like a strike through "O".
Checked system performance > Sound, found empty in output and input. seems the internal speaker is gone.
Tried to run GarageBand, shows error: "Selected Driver not Found. (-10202)".
I have tried restart a few times, but does not work.......
    Help................
    Help................

Hmmm, resetting the PRAM should have done it (and, if there is a "driver" file, it wouldn't be hardware).
Yes, you can install your entire system, but let's leave that as a last resort....
    Try one other thing:
Go to Users -> Library -> Preferences and delete the following file:
    com.apple.systempreferences.plist
    Restart computer.
Try it now. Note: You may have to set up any changes you've made in any of the Preference Panes.
If this does not work either, try this:
Go to Users -> Library -> Caches and move the following to the desktop:
    com.apple.preferencepanes.cache and
    com.apple.preferencepanes.searchindexcache
Restart computer. See if that does the trick (you can then delete them or put them back - either is fine).
