I didn't notice a problem with the sound.
- Did you check the Sound pane in System Preferences, if everything is OK ?
- Which Mac do you use ?
- You can also try to reset the PRAM : http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11243 (do it twice to be sure)

I am trying to set my MTU to 900 in order to play video games on my computer (this has been a known fix for many who have university network) but lion made it so you can't set your MTU to lower than 1280, or at least not easily.
If you don't know what i'm talking about, under network in system preferences, if you click on ethernet (or wifi) and go to the hardware tab, change it to manual, u will see mtu on the bottom with a (1280-1500).

Yes, tried all those things.
After going back and forth with Verizon's "tier 2" technical support over the last 2 days, a chat session with Nokia, no call-backs-as-promised by your technicians, then having them reinstall the phone's software -that didn't fix the problem. So they are sending me a re-manufactured replacement phone. But not a NEW ONE, because I didn't realize the problem within 14 days. You see at first, I just figured the phone had lousy volume, until I was previewing ringtones when setting the alarm clock. The phone is about one and a half months old. I have expressed my desire that a NEW phone be sent, but NO says Verizon.
I've spent enough time, in good faith, Verizon would solve this matter, but in the process of their re-installing the software they've screwed up Backup Assistant.

When i put external speakers to my g72 there's sound but it's lower than if they weren't plugged in

This question is for a HP G72 laptop running Windows 7. When I plugged speakers into the headphone port the sound coming through is actually lower than when no speakers are used? What's the fix!

I see that you're having an issue with the sound when you plug in speakers.
Try this Document and follow the steps toward the bottom starting with the section " select desired speakers or sound device".

Low volume/sound output...

After applying the updates (iTunes(6.02) & OS X (10.4.4)) the volume on my iMac seems to be a lot lower than it was before. I now have to turn the volume up more than half way to get the same output I used to get when the volume was only turned up a quarter of the way.
Has anyone got any ideas please???
Things I have checked/tried so far:
* Reset PRAM
* Checked output volume in applications (mainly iTunes - also turned off sound check which is working by increasing the volume but that doesn't help because it was on before all the updates and the volume was louder)
* I'm running my own speakers via the headphones socket, checked the connection which is fine
* Checked the volume on the external speakers which has always been near Max
* As a last resort I have tried repairing permissions etc but the volume is still LOW
Really appreciate any input.

I'm having the same problem. I, also, recently downloaded the updates for iTunes (6.02) and OS X (10.4.4). I just downloaded music from itunes music store, and really noticed the problem when playing music on my ipod mini and over airTunes. I, also, checked the preferences in iTunes. I'm planning on calling Apple for ideas. If I learn of something I'll list it here.

Notification Sounds are low

Over all the sound on the z3 is good. It's loud when turn up the volume on music and videos but for some reason the notifications tone is lower than when I select it to preview. I did check the audio settings and made sure the notification Sounds are at max. The clear audio etc. And it's seems like it's just a few notches to low. Anyone notice this.
If you are in the sound settings and are previewing the tones I can tell they are much louder but when I choose one and save it as my tone it's lower in volume.

SB Recon3Di -- all sounds pitched low, sound cuts out occasionally

I can't find a **** lick of information about the Recon3Di anywhere, so here we are. It's all in the title. Every sound from startup onwards (through both speakers and headphones) is a note lower than it used to be, and for years now it's been going mute without warning, which I can only fix by restarting. I didn't do anything in particular before the pitch issue, and I don't even remember when the sound first started dropping out.
All I can think to do is uninstall and reinstall audio drivers, but that hasn't gotten me anywhere. What is going on, how do I fix it, why is this sound card so obscure?
Specs: M17xR4 Alienware, Win7, 64 bit.

Music-sound on iphone is worse than sound on mac-book

Is this problem only with my iphone?
the music played with headphones on iphone is worse than i listen to the same music with headphones on my macbook.
the music does not live on my iphone, the sound is hard and flat. (equalizer does not do anything, there is no difference)
on the macbook the sound is fantastic, very clear, perfect base etc...

The sound quality on my iPhone is pretty poor. Before people tell me to buy new headphones, here are the tests I ran to rule out other variables.
Used my Shure SE210 headphones to listen to an iTunes store bought song (Leather so Soft by Lil Wayne) on my iPhone. With EQ off/on and sound check off/on (so basically all options tried) the low frequencies sound like on a blown out speaker.
To make sure it wasn't the headphone plug I tried the built in speakers. Same result.
To rule out the head phones (even though the previous test kinda did that already) I tried my Philips'. Same problem.
To compare, I listened to the same song with the same 2 pairs of head phones and the built in speakers on my macbook pro. Sounds fine.
Long story short, I came to the same conclusion as timgeers, the sound quality of my iPhone blows when listening to bass. Any ideas?

I have an iPad 2 and external speakers work, but JACK for headset doesn't produce sound. If I wiggle, twist or adjust it, the earphones make a crackly and very low grade sound. Ideas?

No aud. or sound when using wired headphones. If I constantly play with input jack it will produce a low sound or a regular sound but it's not of any quality worth listening. I have owned this iPad for over three years. It was purchased new.
Happenings since 2013:
Broke screen due to fall on floor 9-2013
Screen replaced by techs on 10-2013
Upon getting back iPad after being repaired discovered no WiFi on 11-2013
Sent back to techs to repair issues with WiFi on 11-2013
Received unit back on 12-21-13. I only checked WiFi. Unit remained unused for a few weeks.
Used unit during Xmas season on average 12 hours a day but have not yet discovered or even tried a pair of headsets until after Xmas.
Does work on screen and internal wifi antenna effect output sound on headphones?
Can this be easily repaired, possibly without taking off the cover? Does it have an update conflict? Is is a Settings issue?
Please help with any ideas or suggestions.

This happened to me exactly! What I did was I went into Audio MIDI and clicked on Bose Soundlink tab. You'll see 3 bars; master, 1 & 2. Max out all the bars and that should fix the problem. Hope that works for you.

I am having the same issue here... just upgraded my 5s to 7.1.1 (never jailbroken - factory unlocked) and then boom... NO Service!!! Searching ... that's it. currently using Smart Telecom Sim... at first it was working for me... after 6-7 hours, it started the No Service issue. I cannot send a text or make a call...
