Sound level are drastic different

I use Apple tv2 with digital audio to my amplifier and digital audio to the amplifier from the Motorola pvr. Each has a different amplifier input; the difference in the level of sound is ear shattering. The apple tv2 being a lot louder than the pvr.
Any ideas welcome.
GH

in my opinion the issue is that your PVR has a very low sound ouput.
my PVR and appletv have no real difference in audio output thru my amp.

  • Audio Levels are completely different when exported from Premiere to Audition?

    Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I've adjusted the audio gain and volume levels on an interview I'm editing and it sounds pretty darn good in Premiere Pro. I exported the sequence to Audacity to do some hiss removal but quickly realized everything is different. The volume levels are way to high on lots of my clips? Why is this? I cannot really work with it in this current state because it would mean re-doing lots of work I've already done in Premiere. Any one got any ideas?
    All the best
    Kevin

Also, in the sequence the Edit in Audition option is greyed out? I can't round trip and work through the clips individually? Is there something I need to switch on or something?

  • Sound levels are not accurate

Ok, so I added my video to the dvd and then in the main menu i added a music track but the music trac s blaring and then when the video plays the sound from that is much quieter. How do i bring down the levels for the music track i have just added to the dvd menu.
Can I do in garage band or something? I gave it a go but i obviously didn't do it right.
If someone could help me make the levels actually "level" then that would be great.
    Thanks

Try removimg any audio from the menu.
Delete those audio files from the assets
    Save your project
    Close DVDSP
Trash the old high level original audio file (ok, keep a copy in aother location with a new name first!!!!)
Delete the PAR folder that DVDSP created in your hard drive
    Empty the trash
    Reopen DVDSP and your project
    Import the lowered audio background
    Place it in the menu
    Did you get the idea?
    Hope that helps !

  • Sound Levels Are Off

    Hello eveyone.
I just purchased a 4th gen iPod Shuffle. I put a bunch of songs on it, and started listening to them. At first it seemed great, then I got to a song where I couldn't even hardly hear the singing. It was all music. Some songs sound great, but others sound horrible. They only do this on this iPod. Any ideas, or do I have a bad iPod?
    Thanks.

also in addition I brought it into Premiere Pro CC and Pro Tools and in Pro Tools the audio was spot on, in Premiere it was 3db off and in FCPX it was 6db off.  Is anyone else having this problem?

  • Audio Levels Are Different within program

For some reason when I am editing a multi-track project I seem to get three different levels as I go along.  When I am editing a single file the levels come out as one thing.  When I get the levels good, usually around -4 or so I play them back on the multi-track editor and I'm well up and over 0 into the red.  On top of that when I import back into the Final Cut all the levels are completely different wiht some being low and some behing higher than in Soundtrack Pro.  All level adjustments made in Final Cut were cleared out so any project I bring in doesn't have any level variations.
    Thanks!!

  • SOUND LEVEL LAG on Sony´s bluetooth headsets (SBH 20)

"""SOUND LEVEL LAG? - Sony's bluetooth headset""" first two positions of sound level are silent (same), next two rise level by one (but both positions have same sound level), next two again rise level by one (but both are the same) and i can continue this way till maximum sound level. Shouldn't have every position different soind level???   there´s a thread on google+: https://plus.google.com/102109235167947874965/posts/hY9mxUL5uL1

with connected headset have problem with every app which creates sound. even in safe mode. this is reply of one of user in walkman/music beta test on google+: This is an issue with the Bluetooth stack in Android. It has been present since the Android 4.4 update I think. Maybe even 4.3. For example the SBH-20 only has 7 volume steps in total (I think). To request smaller volume steps would be out of the scope of the Walkman app. My solution was to purchase a Bluetooth headset that actually has more steps in volume. Btw since now i have not found yout how to mark people in posts. can u please give me a quick manual? thx

  • Nokia N95 8G Bluetooth sound levels

I am hoping someone out there can help me with a small problem with my bluetooth headset and phone.
I have a Jabra BT250 headset which i used to have paired with my old N73 and the sound levels on it were very good but now having it paired with my N95 8G the sound levels are not great. I have turned up the volume on the phone and headset to maximum but it still does not produce good enough sound.
I used to have to turn down the volume using my old N73 but now i am wondering how i can turn it up.

    Hi,
I have the same problem - bought a bluetooth headset so I can use the GPS function on my motorbike but as soon as you activate the GPS the headset is disconnected.
I've managed one work-around so far - I've told the GPS software to use my external bluetooth GPS receiver and not the internal one. Now the headset works.
It's not what I'd call satisfactory but it works. Would love to use the internal gps receiver tho.
    Any suggestions?

  • I Need to Even out the Sound Level from Tune to tune

This is the problem I'm facing ....
After recording a number of tunes ... and then burning them in iTunes ... I'll find that the ouput level changes from tune to tune.
For example ... one tune's overall sound level is too low compared to the next one.
When I'm mixing I of course try to have the master output as high as possible without clipping.
I have been using Fission to normalize each tune individually ... but
Is there a way to even out the levels from tune to tune. Of course i have "Sound Check" marked in iTunes preferences.
Here is a strange but true story ...
Someone took one of my disks with this problem .... went to a Sony store where they copied it ...
and the sound levels are more even I swear. Is there some sort of software in cd copiers that can do this?
    Thanks ......

Here are a couple of articles that give a useful overview of Mastering:
    Preparing Your Music For Mastering

Other than that, the Normalizing you're doing is the easiest way to even out the relative levels.

  • Alsamixer does not remember sound levels

    Good afternoon,
I have a recurring problem concerning alsamixer. Everytime my machine starts up, the ALSA sound levels are adjusted back to the level they had before, even if I changed them while running. As the Front Microphone Booster is running on 100%, I get a weird distorted sound when having my speakers turned on while booting - it starts to appear when I have successfully looged into KDEmod.
ALSA is amongst the daemons array in the rc.conf, and I have tried to change the levels and used alsactl store as root. It did not work out as well.
Has anyone an idea, how I get my ALSA to store the levels, towards avoiding the painful distortion on every reboot?
    Regards,
    cg

I had similar behaviour what you describe start a few weeks ago. I have turned off system sound via the contol_Centre->Sound&Multimedia->System_Notifications->player_settings->no_audio_output. However after the most recent pacman -Syu yesterday I have noticed that under Kmixer if I now have "four channel mode" an mic switch on I no longer get the demented screeming that also seemed to be a symtom of what you described above, when I increased my volume past half way. I also  now have alsa daemon dissabled in rc.conf, other sound e.g skype works fine. There was a kernel update as  part of my system upgrade yesterday and I was wondering if this may have helped things, have you updated recently.
also note the kdemod updates as of yesterday

  • USB Recording Audio Interface levels are visible but no sound.

I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2 In/2 Out USB Recording Audio Interface hooked up to my iMac via USB cable.
On the System Preserences Sound Page, the computer recognizes the device and levels are visible.
But there is no sound coming out of my internal speakers/headphones.
I tried recording some music and it recorded fine and played back fine, I'm just unable to monitor the sound as it's coming in.
I've also tried a completely different device with the same outcome.

No, you have every business being here as any help is greatly appreciated.
When you say "core audio" what are you referring to?
Ok, here's what I see in the system preferences->sound window:
Output is set to Internal Speakers
Input is set to my device, the Scarlett 2i2 USB
When I play sound thru the device I can see levels where it says 'Input level'.
Now here's the MIDI setup->audio devices window:
Input is set to Scralett 2i2 USB (hightlighted in the left window with a microphone icon next to it).
just below that it reads 2 in/ 2 out
Output is set to Built-In Output (hightlighted in the left window with a dual smling face box icon and a speaker icon next to it).
just below that it reads 0 in/ 2 out
On the right is the Ch/Volume/Value/dB/Mute wondow
Master volume slider is in Light Grey and un-slidable
1 and 2 are Dark Grey and slidable.
That's pretty much it, sound comes in fine yet no sound from interal speakers.
Now I feel a crying spell coming on. Excuse me. Weep weep weep........

  • When instant streaming Netflix on my Macbook Pro, the sound is very very low even when sound controls are set at highest level.

When instant streaming Netflix on my Macbook Pro, the sound is very very low even when sound controls are set at highest level.  I do not have this problem when listening to TV or watching movies streamed from DishNetwork.  I contacted Netflix and they had me install a newer version of their software Silverlight... this did nothing to resolve the issue.  They were not familiar with the issue.

Well if your on 10.6.2, you need to software update to 10.6.8
Perhaps you need to adjust the Silverlight (Microsoft DRM video plug-in) sound level itself too
Run a check here to see if your current on your Silverlight (works for all browsers)
    https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
Use another browser like Firefox and see if it continues.
Try another video file. They all have their own sound levels too.

  • Different sound levels on same sound clip

    Hi everyone.
During a scene in a iMovie project I'm doing, there's a background song. I'd like to reduce the volume sound of the song just for a few seconds so a person that is talking can be heard.
When I change the sound mix between movie background sound and the song, it affects the whole song. Is there any way to change the sound levels of the same track for a few seconds?
    Thank you all.

It's counterintuitive, but iMovie '08 needs you to make the change to the clip you want to promote, not the clip you want to duck, which in this case is the video clip where the person is talking. Once you get the hang of that, it actually works really well.
First, if the talking is part of one big clip, select the piece of it that has the talking and choose Edit -> Split Clip.
Next, select the video clip you split out and click on the speaker button in the middle toolbar. A floating audio adjustments window pops up. In that window, you can select a box that says "Reduce the volume of other tracks to:". Check the box and adjust the slider under it accordingly.
Once that is done, iMovie will reduce the volume of the music track just for that part of your project. Hope this helps!

  • Sound Level and Quality in Macbook Pro 2.33

I recently bought a Macbook Pro 2.33 and I am disappointed with the sound level of the speakers which are not very loud at full volume and the the sound quality not as good as my old Compaq Presario. My old Compaq Presario is about 3 to 4 times louder than my MacBook Pro. Also the Compaq Presario uses JBL Pro speakers. I have not seen any info on Apples site with regard speaker types. I believe the forum needs to add a dedicated section to Audio in general. Yes, I know is a section for Logic and Garageband, but other users use different programs. Can any user please tell me about their audio experience with the MacBook Pro 2.33?

I don't think the audio is that bad. Maybe it's better on the 17" version. I know that it's louder and sounds more clear than my Toshiba Satellite. I also use external speakers when I really want to get good volume but I think my internal speakers do a good job. I will say that at half volume I get hardly any sound coming out at all though.

  • Sound level variations without any command

    Hello.
When using my iMac 24" 3,06 Ghz, the sound level always varies without any command.
It is very disturbing mostly because it is associated with the display of the sound level on the top of the screen.
    Can you help me?
    :-) Dominique

A little more background. I've now found that I can get my volume back by clicking the Device setting off of CoreAudio, and then selecting CoreAudio again. This lasts awhile then the sound drops out again. Also, I've tried different instruments in the EXPS 24, different Instrument/MIDI channels and still get the dropout prob. Even deleted the audio object in the environment and started over with a new one. All the other instruments in the track list are EXPS 24 and not affected

  • How do I get a descent sound level and quality when exporting out of Logic ??

    Hi guys,
I know this topic's been discussed many times before but I still can't fix my problem
I'm going crazy right now. It's been weeks I've been working on beats on Logic and I think they now sound pretty cool.
So I'm trying to export them out of Logic on mp3,or wav, or aiff but everytime it comes out very low. So when I'm applying different tips (limiter, adaptative limiter and different things I found on the internet... ) the sound level is a bit higher but still the quality is not as good as it is on Logic
So here's my questions : first, is it possible to get the exact same quality as the one you have when listening into logic ?
then how to get the best quality with a normal sound level  so when you listening to the mp3 or wave or aiff on itunes just after a normal song you don't have to turn the sound up
Thank you very much for you help !!
    Ben
