Sound level goes to z

Sound level goes to zero after short period of time such as (5) minutes. I reinstalled drivers for the sound card, which is a pci6. Does anyone have any idea what can be turning off my sound? If I reboot then my sound will work for a very short time.
I click on sound icon in systray and move the sound bar up to bring on the sound and suddenly I can watch the bar go back down to no sound level and then must reboot 4 sound again.
I removed hidserv and was able to turn my sound back on again. I am not sure if hidserv actually is the problem and also I believe it may be part of my spyware (spybot). I had spybot for a very long time and never had sound troubles b4. If hidserv can be the problem then what can I do to resolve this issue. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Actually I solved this issue a while ago, and forgot I'd even posted the question on here as no-one responded till now.
Try this- I think this is what I did:
Go to Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences > Audio
You will see two files:
com.apple.audio.DeviceSettings.plist
com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist
Move them to the trash. Now open Sound Preferences and move it to the volume you want. Close Preferences, and Restart your computer. The files will be re-created and the bug will be no more.

Having trouble with iPhone 5 sound level changing.

When I touch the edges of the side of my iPhone 5, the phone vibrates and the sound level goes to zero. I have to press the sound level button to change it back to whatever setting I had it at in the first place. Any suggestions to solve or is this normal?

Camera is not functioning
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tapping Settings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Third-party cases can interfere with the autofocus/exposure feature and the flash (iPhone 4 only); try removing the case if you have image-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center. Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. After recording begins, you cannot readjust focus until you stop recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll. Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.

HT5517 How can I adjust sound level when streaming radio from my Apple TV through Airplay speakers?

I have a 2nd Gen Apple TV with an airport express set up as airplay speakers. I can stream the new radio through using the Airplay speakers pretty well. The problem is that once I've got it going, I cannot adjust the sound level without laboriously backing out of the radio menu, going back to the top level menu then drilling down into the Airplay settings to raise or lower the speaker's sound level.
Is there an easier way to do this?

go to system preferences > Sound > Output. then change the output from "built-in" to HDMI.

How do I get a descent sound level and quality when exporting out of Logic ??

Hi guys,
I know this topic's been discussed many times before but I still can't fix my problem
I'm going crazy right now. It's been weeks I've been working on beats on Logic and I think they now sound pretty cool.
So I'm trying to export them out of Logic on mp3,or wav, or aiff but everytime it comes out very low. So when I'm applying different tips (limiter, adaptative limiter and different things I found on the internet... ) the sound level is a bit higher but still the quality is not as good as it is on Logic
So here's my questions : first, is it possible to get the exact same quality as the one you have when listening into logic ?
then how to get the best quality with a normal sound level so when you listening to the mp3 or wave or aiff on itunes just after a normal song you don't have to turn the sound up

Playing with loopback: sound level doubled.

I've already bought Mainstage (version 2.2) and the loopback plugin is great! I've just one issue: when I record using loopback there are 2 signals in the output so the volume is higher, but when the loopback is playing there's only 1 output and so the sound level is lower.
This is my situation:
In one channel strip there's EVP88
In another auxiliary channel strip there's the loopback plugin assigned to the Bus1.
In the first channel strip I put a send to the bus1 in which there's the loopback. The "send level" is 0.0. The channel strip levels are all on 0 dB.
The problem is that doing in this way the level of the evp88 is doubled when it pass through the loopback.
Because in the Output I have the evp88 (at -6dB for example), then the sound goes through the bus1 in which there's the loopback channel strip who sends again the sound to the output (again at -6dB).
So the result is that when I play something during recording on loopback the sound I hear is for example at 0dB (because in the output there are 2 signals). When i stop playing and the loopback is playing the recorder track, the sound is less than 0dB (Because there's only the signal from the loopback).
How can i solve this issue?

Setting sound level on Mac

I have been trying to set the sound level on a Mac.
But even though I set the sound level to 1 - the Mac sound
bar always goes to 70% of the total volume.
There is no way to set the sound level to anything lower than
70%

try this - paste into your messge window and hit return after
each line:
_sound.soundLevel = 7
put _sound.soundLevel
_sound.soundLevel = 2
put _sound.soundLevel
you should see:
-- 2
-- 7
if you use 'beep' after each setting you should hear it
change too.

Display waveform or sound levels

I have audio that I am going to put into a movie. I need software that will make the sound levels into a quicktime movie so I display something visually as the audio is playing. Any ideas will be appreciated. Can Motion 2 do this?

Motion can't do this that I'm aware of, but you could use an iTunes visualizer to generate visuals to go along with your audio, then capture it as a movie using Snapz Pro and import that into Motion. A bunch of cool visualizers are here:

Can't set sound levels at startup

Hi All,
I've gone through the ALSA sound guide on Arch in some detail. I have sound working on my computer.
However, it starts muted at 0% everytime I boot up... despite using alsamixer to set the levels and saving the config with alsactl store and adding alsa to my rc.conf daemons.
On boot up I see the ALSA sound levels marked as [DONE]
Any ideas what's going wrong?

Sound keeps going out, have to either reboot or stop and start services.
just bought it, Win7 Professional, all updates, uninstalled IDT High Def audio software, sound works, but at a low level, not getting the boost it should have with the IDT software.

Let's try something simple first.
Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select 'Playback Devices'.
Left click the default device once to highlight it ( it's usually 'speakers & headphones' ) then click the Properties button.
Click the Enhancements tab and put a tick in the box next to 'Loudness Equalization'.
Click Apply to save the change and then click OK in all remaining windows

HP Pavillion 15-p046na sound level on playback

Hi,
I've recently bought an HP Pavillion 15 laptop with AMD/Realtek HD audio hardware and Beats Audio.
Windows 8.1operating system. It's brand new out of the box with no updates made.
When I playback mp3 music via Windows Media Player, the volume is getting boosted during quiet parts. This is especially noticeable on tracks which fade out, the sound level gets progressively higher as the song fades out, like it's trying to maintain a constant playback volume. This creates a lot of background noise on music recorded from vinyl, for example.
I've checked it isn't the recording, by transferring the same mp3 file to another device and playing it there - the song plays back exactly as recorded, no problem.
I can't find any options in the audio devices (or beats audio) which might control this behaviour. Is there an equaliser somewhere in the system?
p.s. it behaves the same even with Beats Audio disabled.
p.p.s it behaves the same with internal speakers, headphones and external speakers.

Welcome to the HP Forums.
It appears that you're having issues with audio playback. I will try to assist you on this.
As you mention not dong any updates yet, start with those. Complete all Windows updates, then use the HP Support Assistant to make sure all drivers are updated.
From there, read over this document:
No Sound from Speakers (Windows 8)
You have checked a few things from it already, just go over to see if there is anything else.
You can also try these steps (not sure if they will work for this issue, but have for other audio issues)
Open Windows Control Panel > Sound > Under Playback tab, double click on Speakers to open Properties > Go to Advanced tab > From the dropdown, select the highest quality stereo output. By default its on the second lowest setting which is DVD quality > Apply and close.
If that doesn't help, try this:
Move from the Playback tab to the Recording tab. Double click on Stereo Mix to open the properties and repeat the steps done earlier. Go to Advanced tab, select highest quality from the drop down > Apply and close.

Sound Level

I have connected my Apple TV to seperate speakers. (Speakers from Bang & Olufson with buildt-in amplifiers, Beosound 4000). Im using my Iphone as remote control. Dont have TV connected, am only interested in sound.
But the output sound level from the Apple TV is way to high. Cant turn the volume down enough. It goes from OFF og loud, just with one step on the volume bar on the remote.
Is there a fix to this problem ?
And please, a fix that does not involve buying other speakers.

Are you connected via analogue cables or optical?
'one step' on which remote, the B&O remote?
I would not expect AppleTV to output on analogue at a higher level than any standard line level device - you're not connected to a high sensitivity input on the B&O such as a phono or mic input are you?
Far better to have the AppleTV output it's music at a standard level and to control the volume on teh B&O unit in my opinion.
AppleTV only recently had volume control for music using the white remote up/down arrows - seems to work ok but I had my reservations about it reducing sound quality in the past.

IPod app sound level in multitasking is very low, is there a solution

I have a Pioneer stereo in my car with iPod connect cable. When I plug in my iPad and play songs from it with the iPod app it works as it should and I can hear the songs in the car speakers.
BUT, when I turn on my GPS App, CoPilot, the iPod app goes in the background and continue palying songs but in with a very low volume, van barely hear it. The CoPilot directions voice is loud and clear.
Is there a way to keep the sound level in the iPod app even if it is in the background?

Firstly, try going into ipod and turning up that volume, without using the hardware buttons.
If that just also increases the sound of the CoPilot directions, try changing the settings of the CoPilot app.

How do you equalize the sound levels of your music

The newests ITunes interface doesn't show any way to manage your music. I want to equalize the sound levels on my libarary. How do I do it?

You should see it in part of the description once the divice is connected to the computer through a usb cable. Or you could look at the number by going on setting on your ipod touch then go to general then from there go on about scroll down until you see serial number and ther it is.

Sound levels varying

I'm making a montage out of a number of unrelated clips. But each one has its own sound level, so the volume goes up and down with each clip. I'm trying to adjust them to a general level manually, and finding no success. Any ideas?

There is a Normalization feature that may help you. You can find details in iMovie Help.
