Sound loss after transferring video

i had all of my itunes music and videos on an ibook (G4 running OS 10.4.X) i just transferred all of it over to my new XP PC (and it took FOREVER.) now that I have my videos (purchased from the itunes store) on my pc, they will play - but with no audio! all my songs play fine, just the videos from the itunes store. any help would be appreciated!

I'm getting the same problems as well. I just bought a music video from iTunes (I'm using Windows XP) and the playback has no sound at all. I preview a music video from the iTunes store (30 second playback as usual) and there's no sound on those either. And of course, yes, the volume is turned up full blast.
I've tried to adjust settings as Apple has suggested (updating drivers, sound acceleration, etc) to no avail.
All my music plays fine, I can hear all of those!

  • TV @nywhere Video OK, But sound loss after 40 sec (solved)

I Have a Problem With my TV @nywhere Master
The Video I OK at all time But after a 40 - 60 sec I am Loosing the sound,
Is there someone that can help me!!!???

I have come across many reports of this problem on the Internet, and all of them relate the solutions second and third hand. Has anybody seen an official knowledge base article from Microsoft or Symantec dealing with this issue? I have scanned both sites and no mention. Since this problem affects multiple TV Tuner cards, I would have expected, some official statement somewhere.
I have heard various reports that this is a Microsoft Messenger problem, an Norton Antivirus problem, a Norton Antivirus 2003 problem, a Norton Antivirus 2003 without a certain patch apllied problem, a Windows XP / Messenger / Antivirus problem, and it all depends on who is pointing fingers at who.
The explanation has been that whether Messenger is active or not, at some point Norton Antivirus starts messenger, and subsequently interprets the Tuner video stream as a virus, at the same time Messenger starts chewing all the CPU cycles, and audio takes a dive.
So what does that mean. If I have a high speed processor, I can compensate for the cycles and not experience the symptoms. Or maybe because I'm using Norton Antivirus 2004, it's not an issue. Or maybe I have a certain mysterious patch applied.
Would I be satisfied with either MS or Symantec suggesting turning off Messenger scanning, or turning off Messenger. No way! For those who use Messenger as a means of communication, that should not be considered a long term solution. At the same time, turning off Messenger virus scanning is not a reasonable long term solution. Rather than opening my PC to the risk of a virus, I might ditch the whole lot of them including the TV Tuner, if that was the case.
There is a responsibility for MS and Symantec to give a reasonable explanation / analysis of the problem and offer a long term solution, whether that is a fix or upgrade, whatever, something that their customer can use as a frame of reference to decide whether or not they want to go that route or ditch the lot. Pressure should be maintained on them to provide an official response to this problem.
I would start with Symantec. What? You can't tell the difference between a video data stream coming from a TV tuner and a virus. Give me a break. Your just too busy coming out with the next version of Norton Antivirus to fix your existing code. That's were the money is.
As a hot fix, turning off Norton Antivirus Messenger scanning is certainly the fastest and from reports, many have eliminated their symptoms this way. Eliminating Messenger is another story. You can't get rid of the sucker, without sacrificing your first born.
Again, does anyone have a link to first hand, from the horses mouth, information re this problem?

  • DVD Sound Quality After Transferring to iPod

I have finally been able to transfer a previously owned DVD to my 30gb iPod and the picture quality is great! However, the sound quality is not up to par. The audio (but not the video) to the DVD when playing on iTunes and the iPod is "skipping." I used the following programs to transfer the DVDs to iTunes:
    DVD Decrypter
    Digiters DVD to iPod Converter.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to clean up the sound quality? Any suggestions on good, easy-to-use software for ripping and converting?
    THANKS!!!

OK, so I went back and listened again to the tracks in iTunes, and it turns out that for some reason even though I thought I checked the "use error correction" box on my home computer's iTunes, error correction wasn't turned on after all. I noticed because I did hear the distortion on the playback of one song when played from iTunes. I am in the process of re-importing a couple of cd's with error correction turned on, and I am pretty sure this is the problem. I re-imported the one song I noticed it on originally and it got rid of it. I listened to one of the cd's back this morning in iTunes and didn't notice the distortion, but apparently it was there and I just missed it. So, chalk this one up to user error/self pwnt, haha!

  • Total Sound Loss After Update

My computer is completely silent after the most recent update (and was working immediately prior to it). I can't get sound out of Firefox, iTunes or even various games on my computer.
Not sure what specs I need to provide. If someone could let me know I'll be right on it.

Hi, after reviewing your screenshot, there are some Flash files for IE that are missing and also for FF.
Download the Uninstaller to your Desktop:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Then download the Flash Player Installer for Internet Explorer to your Desktop:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
Then download the Flash Player Installer for Firefox to your Desktop:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe
After you have done that, be sure to follow the instructions on the Uninstaller. Use the Administrator account, disable any apps that use Flash, check the system tray for messenger service, etc. Set the Security via Internet Option to Medium for the Internet Zone.
Close all browsers, Run the Installer from the Desktop. When finished, Reboot(restart) your computer. When fully Rebooted, Reboot again( to clear old files) Then Run the Installer for IE and when finished, Run the Installer for Firefox.
When finished, Reboot the computer Once.
    Test each browser here:
    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
Check a few websites to see if Flash Player is now working properly with each browser.
Let me know, if you have any questions.

  • Sound loss after close lid C870-17G

    Hello,
    I have a problem with my Toshiba C870-17G .
Almost every time when it goes in stand by or i close the lid and reopen it the sound will not work anymore , also usb ports are useless and if i try to shutdown or restart he remains stuck in Shuting Down forever.
I have on it W7 64 bit, all drivers are up to date .
There is anyone who knows what can i do to solve the problem?

That doesn't appear to be a US model, and this is the forums for Toshiba USA. You may want to contact Toshiba in your region. If it's a European model, you could check the Toshiba Europe forums.

  • Transfering videos from Iphone 4 to laptop, the video is rotateed 90 degrees

After transferring videos from Iphone to laptop, Why would the video be rotated 90 degrees?

IIRC, the iPhone is configured that "normal orientation" for video recording is horizontal with the home button on the right.  If you are holding it in a different orientation, then that would be encoded in the EXIF data on the recirded video file.  Now if that file is edited and that EXIF data is removed or altered, then you could see what you are seeing.  It is also possible that the player yo uare playing the videos back in does not properly support the EXIF data embedded in the videos, which would have the same results.  When I record video on my iPhone 5, the playback on my Mac works properly.

    View Solution.

    Hi:
You go into the BIOS, select the Advanced Options menu.
Go to the device configuration menu and there will be an onboard audio setting.
It will be set to Disabled.  Change the setting to Enabled.  Save the setting there by hitting the F10 key, and again when you exit the BIOS.
After you reboot, you will have the onboard audio back.

  • How to delete photos and videos from iphone after transferring them to iCould?

    iPhone 4S
    iOS- 8.1.1
After transferring photos and videos from my iphone to icloud, how to delete photos and videos from my iPhone 4S

Thanks to both of you for your replies.
For some reason, the Camera & Scanner Wizard has started to detect the phone now. Maybe it will stop again in the future, but for now it's OK.
I do have iTunes installed, and the iPhone's still not appearing in Windows Explorer. I might reinstall if the problem recurs.
Yep, it's an official Apple cable, but it's a bit old. I got it with my iPod a few years back. Maybe i should start using that as the charger cable, and the new cable i got with my iPhone for syncing?
    Thanks again for your replies.

  • Video player in iPod 60Gig. Sound stops after a while playing large clips

I have been converting DVDs and large video clips into iPod MPEG 4 format for the iPod with the Xilisoft DVD to iPod Converter 4. This softwrae works just great and the files plays well on my PC with Quick Time player as well as others. When loaded to the iPod they all start OK but the sound disapears after a while. If I fast-forward or backward then it works for a while again.
I do not see this behaviour with short clips (3-5 minutes)
As far as I can see this is related to the MPEG4 player in the iPod. Anyone have a similar problem or some resolution to it.

    Nope,
But I just discovered that that it is actually not only the sound that stops working but rather the whole video that has a "hick-up" and then when it continues the sound is gone. If I fastforward/rewind then it seem like the player rocovers and play the stream correctly again.
What are the Mp4 clip prefs you have used when converting?
I am planning to try some other settings when converting to see if that makes any difference but I doubt it will help. I think we will have to wait for a "better" i.e. working Video Player for the iPod ...

Sorry you are having problems. First of all try Fifrefox's safemode.

Next step, if safe mode did not work.
<u>First: Try a clean install, (you have had a none standard version installed previously)</u><br /> that involves deleting the program files. Then if necessary try troubleshooting by creating and using a clean empty Firefox profile.

    <u>Second: try a New Profile</u>
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager#Creating_a_new_profile
    * this will be an additional profile, it is still worth backing up any existing or currently working profile on a regular basis
**[[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]]
    * Until you are absolutely confident about the repercussions I suggest
** always use an empty folder when creating a new profile
** never delete or rename profiles, just disable or remove shortcuts
** after creating a new test profile open it and check for any addons or plugins that may be have been included by default

  • Sound loss when moving Final Cut Pro X project to Quicktime.

This is a 33 minute football highlight film with music, live sound, radio calls, title screens and transitions.  The video is HD and transfers flawlessly, but the sound stops after 90 secomds amd never returns.  Not sure what I am doing wrong.  Have made 35 player highlight videos without an issue, but they are about 10-12 minutes long each.  So, I cut the video to 20 minites to trial a shorter version, and the sound cuts out at the same spot.
The video pkays back perfectly in Final Cut Pro X.  Sent it to compressor directly, and aftr 17 hours, I got a "fail" message.
Can someone help me?  This video is scheduled to be shown at a banquet on Friday night, and I can't show it if I can't get it to a bluray disc
    Thanks

Last week I lost my audio shortly into the video.
It disappeared around the point of the first transition.
After deleting that transition and re-exporting the audio survived to what had been the second transition and so on.
After deleting all the transitions the audio was perfect.
I then put back the transitions and magically the video exported with no audio loss.
At the time someone else seemed to have the same problem so it may be some bug or glitch.
My solution was to delete all transitions and replace.
