    Dear,
I recently bought a MacBook Pro i7. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate through Boot Camp. But after installing i am faceing few problems as listed below:
    1: *Automatic Time change*
When i am in windows 7 and i switch to Mac OS X the time of my Mac OS X automaticly changes every time and i have to adjust the time every time i switch from Windows 7 to Mac OS X. This problem is when i change my operatinf system from Win to Mac.
    2: *Sound Mute*
Whenever i log into Windows 7 i always fine the sound to be mute and i always have to unmute the sound from the button.
3: *MacBook trys to read something before Windows 7 starts booting*
Whenever i start windows 7, before the windows 7 booting screen, there is a black screen with a gray underscore (_) which blinks for a minute or two. And after that the booting of windows 7 starts. That (_) makes me wait a lot before booting into windows 7.
Please help me regarding these problems of mine. I even called the Apple care but they dint have any solution to it.
    Waiting for your reply.

Neways im rely getting so ****** off that after buying such an expensive product, it cant give me complete satisfaction, I feel that apple should first make their current products perfect and then go on launching some other products. Apple shoudent lie to sell it products that windows is compatible with MacBook. I went to a authorised service center Unicorn Infosolutions Pvt Ltd situated in Mumbai,Maharashtra,India. Even they said that all these three problems cant be resolved. This is rely bad, i never thought that apple is like this!!!! i always was a fan of apple n used to always pro-vogue people to buy its products. But now i dont think so. Neways if buy chance there is some other methord or way than please tell me.

  • Excessively large "Sound Mute" Notice on Toshiba 32RL900A

Having owned the 32RL900A for a couple of years, I have become disenchanted with the large size and placement of the "Sound Mute" caption on screen.
Whilst it is possible to turn the volume down so that it is inaudible and no notice is visible, this is not the most convenient method of getting rid of the message, as we use the mute control most of the time, using optical digital out to an external speaker system and an infra red transmitter and headphones, thus the need to mute the sound, as other sound sources are in use at the same time, and "mute" is a more convenient method of silencing the TV.
It occurred to me that a firmware change could alter the said "notice", it obscures messages on the screen and we find it annoying in size and placement

Thank you for your response, Francesco_1, one can always live in hope that SOMEONE in the firmware section, or the design section, whichever section is responsible for programming the TV display features, comes up with a more reasonable "notification symbol", as it is not needed to be anywhere near the size it is, because when any of the recording devices are muted and displaying THEIR notification symbol on screen, they are nowhere near the size or shape of the TV "Notification", but they do let the user know the device is muted, but then, the use of "mute" on a device feeding signal into the TV defeats the purpose, as then NOBODY can hear the sound from the TV, when they wish to do so.
I am not so sure about the firmware being in control of the on-screen messages, because when our 32RL900A was first installed, the user manual stated that the "Record" button on the remote control was "Not used on this model", but after a firmware upgrade, in the setup menu there appeared the field "Recording Setup", which enabled all the necessary features, and these features have been in use ever since, much to our delight!

  • No sound mute button greyed out?

no sound mute button is greyed out have restared and shut down computer several times

    Is OS X Mavericks uptodate?
If it is not updated, use App store to update OS X.
If this does not help, try this.
Go step by step and test.
    1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
        Highlight  Internal Speakers / Headphones
Make sure that Mute is not enabled.
2.Plug in and  remove the headphone.
If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.
    3. Reset PRAM.  http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405
    4. Reset SMC.     http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
        Choose the method for:
"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
    5. Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup
        Audio Devices window
        Side Bar
        Click the Built-in Output.
Under Mute any of the boxes checked? If so, uncheck it.

  • Drive sound when waking from sleep?

Hi, I am getting a short 2-3 second drive sound when I wake my MBP from sleep. It sounds like it is checking to see if there is a disc in the drive or something. Also might be described as the sound when your first put a disc into the drive(but maybe shorter). Is this normal? And also if it is normal is there a way to stop it from making the noise because I actually find it annoying me, I wake my computer from sleep a lot throughout the day. My friends MBP who bought his just a few months before mine does not make a sound when waking from sleep. Thanks.

They all do. All of them. Yours. Mine. Your friend's. Old PowerBooks. Brand new MBPs. Everything in between.
My friends MBP who bought his just a few months before mine does not make a sound when waking from sleep.
Maybe his optical drive is broken?
Or, more likely, it's not waking up from sleep at all - Energy Saver settings can be used to set the display to sleep before the MBP sleeps - a key press will "wake" the display, but the MBP itself was not asleep, thus no noise from the drive when it the display is reactivated.

Same here on an older iMac since Lion. Thanks for the uncheck wake for network access tip though, it doesn't do it either in that case, I will leave it that way.

  • The sound mute button doesn't work on my HP pavilion dv6

The finger button on the pavilion dv6 doesn't work for the sound mute button.  I'm not sure if a setting has been disabled or not. Anyone have any ideas on how to restore it ?

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48501-49000/sp48668.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, restart the notebook and let Windows fully load.  Open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if the mute button now functions correctly

  • Why do the Iphone sounds mute when voice recording?

Why do the Iphone sounds mute when voice recording?

Thanks for the response!  I use Display Record with various sound/video themes and would like to include them in my presentations.  For what it's worth, I will make a suggestion to Apple, to make the muting of sounds, during recording a user preference/setting.

  • Mic Mute Hotkey doesn't work, Sound Mute Button won't change its color [Windows 10]

    Hello everyone,
I recently did a clean install of Windows 10 x64 on my HP Probook 450 G1 (E9Y30EA), and after installing drivers I noticed when I turn off the sound, my Mute Button won't change its color to amber (or orange, yellow, whatever), as it did in Windows 8.1 and 7.Also, another thing that's not working at all is Microphone Mute Hotkey (fn + F8). It neither turns off the microphone, nor lights up its LED. I have the latest version of HP Hotkey Support driver installed (7.0.13.1), HP Quick Launch Buttons, HP Wireless Button, installed, .NET Frameworks 2.0 and 3.0 etc.. everything is up-to-date, but it's still not working as it should. Microphone muting just doesn't work at all, and pressing (sound) Mute Button does mute sound, but its light stays white, so I often don't know whether I had the sound on or off with the glance of an eye as I used to. On the other hand, HP Wireless Button works normally, and it changes its color to amber when I press it to turn on Airplane Mode. TL;DR: Microphone Mute Hotkey doesn't work; Sound Mute Button does work, but its LED doesn't work. Is there anything I can do to fix that, or is it just a problem with driver incompatibility that would be fixed in some of the next updates? Or is it something else, like Windows 10 issue or audio driver maybe?
    Thanks in advance, pajser92

    Hi,
First download the sound driver using the links below and save the installer to your Desktop.
    Audio Driver - Windows 7
    Audio Driver - Windows Vista
When the download has completed, right click the installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation - ignore any warnings you may see about this being an earlier version.  When the installation has completed, restart the notebook.

  • Startup sound mute

    Hi
I often turn on my Imac at night when the rest of my family sleeps.
I cant seem to be able to mute the "DIIING" startup sound, which is quite annoying in the middle of the night.
Please Apple...Make it possible to turn that thing of...
(i have tried muting before shutting down - no luck)
    /Jan Denmark

    My problem is the opposite!!
I WANT the beautiful startup chord, but it's not here on my second hand PB G4.
we initialised the disk before installing all my old stuff via CarbonCopy Cloner.
The original owner said he MAY have silenced the chime, but I'd have thought that would have been cancelled in the initialisation?

  • Cracking strange sound when comming from sleep

When comming from a sleep (not always, but when beeing longer in sleep) I hear (next to the superdrive sound that is normal) a sort of cracking 'strange' sound out of my left/center area just around where the fan is.
It's a sound like you plugin a radio with an headplug let's say. Seems to come out of the speakers, but i'm not sure about that.
Is it normal (didn't do this before, only noticed it now after a month)? Or can i add another point to the list when i'm calling applecare (i really have a very monday morning machine i guess,: cpu whine, display not ok, strage blinking numlock sometimes).
Did find some thinks that look alike:

Great description...! I thought it sounded a bit like the trashcan sound.
I have got the same thing which isn't exactly my biggest problem... I also have the situation, that my MB doen't go to sleep, unless I directly tell it to. I thought the sound was related to that problem, but as none of you have mentioned it...?
Also my MB cannot be started normally every now and again and I have to do a PRAM reset to get it running again.
This is my second MB, so I'm slowly running out of patience...
The first one had the RSS, by the way.

  • Unusual sound when waking from sleep

To start off I have a black MacBook that I bought around March of 2006. Never had this problem before so I am a little concerned.
Okay to the issue, I woke my Mac up around 1:40pm today but instead of the usual wake up noise I got something else. It's the regular noise only it sounds a bit slower and lasts a second or two longer then it normally does. I wait a bit then I put my Mac back to sleep. After waiting 2 or 3 minutes I woke my mac back up with the same results. It wakes up fine, but it emits that unusual sound when waking up. I don't know if this is related or not but before waking the first time I did notice that my Mac was a little warn where the powercord attaches even though it had been off since about 3pm the day before and was located in a relatively cool room.
I also noticed when I put my ear up to my Mac that there is a weird buzzing sort of sound. It is continuous, but can only be heard if I put my ear up to the keyboard.
I'm wondering if something went bad on my Mac, since I have had it for about 3 years now with no prior issues other then heat issues.
Any help would be much appreciated.

The usual wake up noise you refer to is the optical drive spinning so as to check to see if there is a disc inserted in it.
Your Macbook should not be at all warm anywhere if it had been off for a few hours as you said. It should be room temperature if it was indeed shut down. Are you certain it was shut down?
I don't have any solutions to your problem, but just stating a couple points.
If it continues to do this try booting up into another User Account. Create a new account for this purpose. If it works good in a new, clean user account then the problem is in your main account. If the problem still persists in the new account try an Archive and Install with the install DVDs. If this does not cure it then the problem may well be hardware, but not for certain. But, this is the non-destructive, non-evasive way to go to start with solving the problem.

  • Clicking sound after waking from sleep

My PBG4 makes a slow clicking sound (about 9 seconds apart) after I wake it up from sleep. Could this be my hard drive dieing a slow death?

    Could well be.
Open the system profiler. Click on ATA, select the disk name and under the info for the the disk see if it has passed its SMART status.
If not, it's giving you a warning before the inevitable.
Whatever you do back up your data now (copy your home folder to an external drive) or attempt to clone the HD with Carbon Copy Cloner.

  • Why does the sound mute on my 3rd gen iPad for no apparent reason?

The sound occasionally mutes and the only way it seems to bring it back is to power down and then power back up again.  Has anyone else experienced this and possibly knows why this happens?

It may be the wifi or your internet speed.
The newest iPad works best on a 5 ghz wifi.   If you have an older router and modem you may need to update your equipment.
