Sounds like the micro switch inside the output jack that switches the audio from internal to external is stuck on external. Try plugging a set of buds, headphones or digital Toslink adapter in and out a few times to see if it will unstick the micro switch. You also might try jiggling a tooth pick around inside the audio output jack to see if that unsticks it? If not then you'll need to make an appointment at your Local Apple Store or Apple Service Provider and have the jack serviced.

Ipod is not showing in the devices section of Itunes

I have a 2010 Mac Pro with a 1TB HHD. I just installed and formatted a Samsung 840 Pro SSD. I want to install a clean copy of Mavericks to the SSD and have the computer boot up to it. How do I install Mavericks to the SSD? Also, the Samsung SSD does not show up as an option in Start up in system preferences. Please help!
What OS do you want to install? If you bought your MP early enough, it may have shipped with actual install discs, and you could use those. If it shipped with Lion or newer, you will have to follow one of the procedures mentioned by Niel.
You can get Mavericks from the App Store. Before you run the installer, copy (copy, not move) the whole "Install Mavericks" download to a backup location so that you can install it again if necessary. The installer in the Applications Folder will be deleted after installation is complete, so a copy is needed. -
Movies not showing in the iphone section
Hello i have a win xp with the latest version of ITune and a Iphone latest update
My problem is that i have movies that are showing and playing in Itune in MPEG-4 but when i go to my iphone/video tab i see NO movies anywhere. The list is blank.
The rest is syncing fine!

So normally when i download a ringtone it goes straight to tones, but this time it is in music. What should i do?
Yeah everything is gone for good. The apps won't be a problem. You can just redownload them. For the music find a program that copies the music from the iphone to the computer. Then add the files to itunes ans sync.

My internal speakers are not showing up in output preferences
Head phones work fine. As soon as I unplug the head phones the sound icon goes from black to greyed out. The port works fine because if it was stuck it would not go from black to greyed out every time I plug and unplug the headphones. So the sensor is working and letting me know when the head phones are plugged in so please don't suggest a jammed port as an option. If it was stuck the icon would stay on constantly. When I look under system preferences>sound>output I only have headphones and Apple TV as an option. The internal speakers have disappeared from the list. When I reboot the macbook I get the familiar sound of the start up so I know the speakers work. I believe the problem started when we got Apple TV AirPlay but it could be a coincidence. Also I have been looking through the forums dating back to 2006 and have not found any thing that works. Thanks for any new information.

On Flash bashed chat rooms such as Stickam and Tinychat, my camera doesn't respond but when I right click>settings >Camera the drop down box only shows one option (Built-in iSight) when it usually shows three (Built in iSight, USB Class Video and Something else that slips my mind right now.)

I bought a new Iphone and I was unable to update with my iTunes because they wouldn't let me leave the store with out checking the camera and speakers. I had to start the phone. I tried connecting to iTunes when I got home but it's not showing in the devices. Please help me.

"Extended" is not showing in the slash screen of PS Cs6
Recently i had downloaded trail version of PS Cs6 extended..!!

The About screen is the same. No 3D menu, but if you go to "menus" properties, #D is under Panel Menus like it should be available.
During download is was also confusing, because in one place it just said CS6 the other it said extended.

Finder option not showing all the options
Hi, the finder option in MAC shows "mobile partner" when plugged on to internet...it does not show other options like folder, documents, drives etc. Can anyone please tell me how to access these drives and folders through finder when the internet is ON.

Hi guys,
All music is syncing across from my purchased items to my phone... However, some are missing from the 'purchased' playlist and I can only come across them when scrolling through the 'Artist' or 'Song' menu. I then have to manually add them back to my purchased playlist.
Is there any way to stop this?
I want all my 'purchased' songs in that playlist and then have all of my other music from CDs in their individual ones (which works fine).
This happens for about 5/6 every time and it's a nightmare trying to work out which ones are missing so to speak unless I stumble upon then.
So basically, the songs ARE on the phone but not showing in the playlist, just to make that clear.
Many thanks in advance...This sounds very similar to an issue that I experienced. There was a phantom 6G assigned to movies even when no movies were on my iPad. I could make the phantom 6G come and go by checking/unchecking the "Sync Movies" box in iTunes.
First, try a system reset. It probably won't fix your problem but it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
There is one other thing that you can try but I don't want to describe it unless the above doesn't help. -
My iPod shuffle ( 1st or 2nd generation) will not recharge and does not show when the doc is connected to my MacBook Pro. I'm running the latest updated version of iTunes.

I currently have a mini server (OSX10.8.5, server 2.2.2) that I am using Time Machine to back up 4 external drives that are connected to the server via firewire 800. I would like to use Time Machine to back up to a windows network SMB drive. I can see the drive on my desktop but it will not show in the time machine window to be able to select it for use.
Can this be done
Thanks for any and all helpThe supported targets for Time Machine backups are local (direct-connected) disks, and network targets include Time Capsule, a disk hanging off the current-generation AirPort (though not earlier AirPort devices), and OS X Server systems.
The Time Machine storage is based on the HFS+ file system, so I would not expect TM to work with SMB file services.
While there are hacks to allow Time Machine to access network drives, I would not consider those to be reliable. Skim the forum and the 'net for related details, and for previous discussions of setting this up and the related issues that can arise.
Remember to test the recovery with whatever you decide to use; whole point of backups is the ability to restore the data, after all.
