Sound not working after sleep

When i connect my headphones and once my macbook pro goes to sleep, Its not giving me sound back. Even after unplugging my head phones, it is still showing head phones as my out put.
Does anyone has a solution for this issue? [it is working fine after a reboot]

Delete the sleep file using a command in "Terminal".
In terminal, type the following command...
sudo rm /private/var/vm/sleepimage
You will be prompted to enter your computer password. *Note you password will be hidden* hit enter when done.
Put computer to sleep and wake to see if problem still occurs.

    Sound stops working after resuming my Mbp. Reseting PRam solves this issue but its tempory. I have to restart my system everytime this issue occurs.
    I have one more issue regarding sound, which might be just another bug.
    When I plug my headphone, sound doesnt switch to head phone and I cant switch manually too from system preferences. To fix this issue, I have to close the lid and wait for a while for system to sleep and resume system. after resuming, Os starts detecting my headphone. strange!

    For those of you reading this just thought that I would update you.  After spending 90 minutes on the phone and resetting/restoring the phone twice, with two different level of tech support they have deemed this a hardware issue now.  This phone worked perfectly fine before the ios 6.1.2 update that was done yesterday.  Worked fine, played music, took calls, did all the sounds, then updated and now nothing!
    Our family has 4 iphones, several ipods and 2 ipads.  I am now left with a phone just out of warranty (by 2 mo) and no choice but to pay the $200 to apple to get another phone.  Apparently this is a steal because a new 4s costs $600.! lol.  I am greatly disappointed.  I have been given the corporate phone number and assured that there would be someone in customer service to talk to, but there was not, no surprise to me.  Anyone else have any suggestions?

  • HP SimplePass Reader Does not Work after Sleep

    I have only had my laptop for a week - the fingerprint reader stopped working 2 days after I bought it. I have tried everything: removing and re-installing various drivers and software, stopping and starting Credentials Manager, unchecking the box that allows the computer to turn the reader off to save power, etc.
    I have gotten it to the point where it functions when the computer is logged in, but not after sleep. It works once if you restart the computer, but after waking it from sleep it does not initialize. (no light or anything) However, if you "lock" the desktop from the start menu, the reader will log it in again. (without closing the lid or putting it to sleep)

  • Safari will not work after sleep mode

    After going into sleep mode safari will not work. Firefox works fine, mail is fine. Happened after upgrade  to O S x .  Browser is Safari 8.  How do I fix this?

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
    Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
    While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
    Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
    After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
    *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
    Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
    Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • F3507g GPS not working after sleep/resume Windows 7

    Under Windows 7 on ThinkPads with the F3507g Mobile Broadband Connection, there have been two long-standing problems:
    (a) after sleep/resume, the F3507g (Wireless WAN) disappears from the Fn+F5 menu;
    (b) after sleep/resume, ThinkVantage GPS does not work (forever displays Fix Type: N/A).
    By searching these forums, you can find past threads about these problems, none with a reproducible resolution.
    I am pleased to say that the latest driver update for the F3507g (v6.1.10.5  7UW708WW) appears to ameliorate problem (a) in that the F3507g Wireless WAN eventually re-appears in the Fn+F5 menu if you give it a few tens of seconds after a resume.  This update is available from:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-73681
    However, the non-working GPS after sleep/resume is still not solved.  Even though the "Wireless WAN" card is present and shown powered-on in the Fn+F5 menu, ThinkVantage GPS (2.60) is stuck on Fix Type: N/A, and the Windows 7 Weather gadget does not automatically discover the location.  Both applications work fine after a full Windows restart, but not after a sleep/resume.
    I have, however, discovered a work-around which restores GPS operation without a full restart:
    Open Device Manager;
    Expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers";
    Right-click "F3507g Mobile Broadband Device" and select "Disable";
    Wait for the system to settle down again;
    Right-click "F3507g Mobile Broadband Device" and select "Enable";
    Wait for the system to settle down again.
    Now you can press Start in ThinkVantage GPS, and Fix Type will quickly change from "N/A" to "No Fix", and then onward to satellite discovery.  And after a few false starts, the Windows 7 Weather gadget will discover the location.
    The fact that this work-around restores GPS operation indicates that the underlying fault is a driver software issue.
    The above symtoms and work-around have been verified on both a ThinkPad X301 and a ThinkPad T400s.  Neither have ThinkVantage Access Connections installed.  The X301, when previously running under Vista with the previous generation of drivers, did not display these symptoms: the symptoms appeared with the upgrade to Windows 7.

    Actually mine works fine after applying all the updates available on T400 w/ Windows 7 Pro 64bit. I can sleep/shutdown as much as I want and the GPS works.
    By the way, you have to goto your bios to reset your settings to default by pressing F9. Maybe you should try this and see if that solves your problem.
    The only GPS related issue that is not fixed is the issue of dual booting into linux. I dual boot into linux, and when that happens the GPS problem re-occurs once I log back into windows. The only way for me to fix the problem again at that point, is if I go back into the bios and hit F9 again, then re-enter windows.
    If I were to stay in a windows environment indefiniately, there is no problem. The problem is once I enter Linux, the problem in windows will occur again (maybe the powerstate settings by the linux kernal messes up the settings on the card).

  • Bluetooth keyboard not working after sleep *windows8* FIX

    Its pretty simple actually.  It might not work for you, but let me know if it does.  Untill bootcamp drivers are updated, I found that disabling the Bluetooth Network adater under Networking And Sharing in the control panel will allow my Keyboard to function again after waking up.  If you find that your keyboard is still paired, but not responding when your Windows 8 install wakes up after sleep, this might fix the problem for now.
    If you have a notebook, I read on another forum that if you enable Bluetooth Collaboration under the device settings in Device Manager, you can fix this issue also.  Google for it if your interested.

    I've noticed on mine that if it is coming out of Ssafe Sleep (you can see the progress bar at the bottom of the screen if it is) then the keyboard does take a bit to active.
    This may not be your problem however just be sure you've been patient enough after waking.

  • Satellite M100 sound not working after installing Windows 7

    Everything else is working after this upgrade except the sound.  Have tried everything.  Any suggestions?
    Many Thanks.

    Hi,
    For me the case is clear: Windows 7 is not the market as yet and its not released as yet. So I think this is the problem.
    Anyway, have you tried to install the driver from the Toshiba website? There you can also find the Synaptics driver. Its for Vista but normally the drivers for Vista are also work in Windows 7. Its worth a try.
    http://www.csd.toshiba.com
    Have you tried the key combination FN+F9? So you can enable and disable the touchpad but I doubt that this works. Normally you need the Toshiba utility for this

  • Touchsmart 520-1047c Mouse and Keyboard will not work after sleep mode

    I have an issue which I need some help with. When my computer goes to sleep the wireless mouse and keyboard will not work unless I restart, however each one will wake the system up but will not operate after that. I have tried just making the display go to sleep, both go to sleep but that makes no difference same issue occurs. The only work around I have found is going into the power settings and turning the sleep mode off for booth the computer and display. This does not solve the problem it just masks it. New batteries, unplugged and replugged the dongle, updated the bios and all drivers. Don't know what else to try. Anybody know how to fix this? Thank you in advance for your help.

  • Sound not working after 10.9.4 Mavericks Update - HELP!

    My sound does not seem to be working following the latest update to Mavericks (10.9.4). I am running a 2012 Retina Macbook Pro. Sound does not work with speakers, headphones or built-in sounds. Before anyone asks, no its not on mute, I have checked the Audio Midi setup and Sound settings and everything is as they were prior to the update, so the sound should still be working.
    I have tried resetting the SMC and PRAM, no luck yet. Also tried re-installing the update but did not work.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    So I had the same problem; Actually other problems occurred after upgrade 10.9.2 (Thunderbolt related issues) and now after upgrading to 10.9.4 my internal sound disappeared.
    The solutions described above made it worse; Sorry sykosoft .. but your solutions is even dangerous ;
    I spend almost a Day finding out how to restore my internal audio devices ..
    So what I discovered, this is a software issue;
    Update on update on update without any clean install resulted in some filty .plist files
    com.apple.audio.DevicesSettings.plist
    com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist
    looking in those files  I discovered some settings pointing towards RabbitEars .. perhaps I tried it once in a previous life but now I do believe the upgrade took by incident the wrong 'device' as standard ..
    So I looked up and the only thing I could do was finding .kext and other related stuff .. only able to remove it commando wise = terminal
    after rebooting for the 722th time performing a SMC and PRAM for the 666th time the result was ... NO STANDARD devices detected
    THe only solution working is :
    A recovery install;
    https://www.apple.com/osx/recovery/
    In my case I encountered a problem; My recovery failed (reboot press and hold CMD+R, selecting install fresh OS X)
    I find out it was due to my FileVault encrypted HD; So first I uncrypted  (switched off FileVault) my HD, and even created a USB recovery disk (not needed)
    Tadaaaa 45 minutes later all problems solved, without loosing data or reinstalling all programs ..
    *feeling relieved* I thought sharing my pain and solution would save you hours finding out how to repair, hoping PRAM and SMC reset would solve it ..

  • Sound not working after booting

    First of all, I have tried to uninstall and then install again the drivers of the sound card for W8.1
    The sound does not work if I have switched off my laptop and then boot it. If I reboot it, the sound works. It's just when I have switched off it from Windows (maybe because W8 does not a complete switch off but a kind of hibernation).
    In the audio mixer of the tray the green bar which shows when it's playing sound works like it's working and if I plug some headphones on the jack port they work like a charm,
    Any idea of what's happening? I've just bought this laptop last week and I'm very happy with it apart from this thing

     From your models support page Download & Save the latest Audio driver.Go into Control Panel,Programs & Features- Uninstall IDT software.Restart the laptop. After Windows loads, install IDT audio using the downloaded file.
