Sound not working on 3000 n200 windows 7 ultimate 64 bit

Hi
MY Sound is not working on 3000 n200, I have  windows 7 ultimate 64 bit installed newly, and have all drivers downloaded.
Strange thing is the sound works for windows and for soundcard test applications, yet wont work for media player, vlc, or anything on the internet like youtube or music sites.
Getting realy annoying at this stage as Ive tried many things, all to no avail.
It doesnt specify what soundcard, it just said: " High definition audio"
Any help Please.  Maybe its another driver I need for windows 7 compatibility.
Any additional details you require, I will suply ASAP
Thanks
Darran

I encountered a similar issue on my 3000 Y410 laptop that I just upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit.  I ended up downloading the drivers from the RealTek site directly.  Go to the RealTek downloads page (RealTek Downloads) and click on the "High Definition Audio Codecs (Software)" link.  You'll get to (after a page with a checkbox for an agreement) page for "Software: Drivers and Utilities" --- download the "Vista, Windows7 Driver(32/64 bits) Driver only (Executable file)" and run that, then try your sound again (may require a reboot).
Hope this helps...

  • IMac 20" Aluminium sound not working through headphones on Windows 7 32bit

Okay, so here's my problem. I have Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit and after installing boot camp and all the updates and stuff my audio didn't work. So, I went to realtek and downloaded the driver that people said to. When I installed it normally, it didn't help at all, and when I installed it in compatibility mode with Vista sp2, the audio works only on the speakers on my iMac. My headphone jack does nothing, even when there is something plugged into it the sound still comes out of the iMac speakers. Although through the tray icon, the iMac can seem to tell when something gets plugged in or gets unplugged. So that's my problem and if anyone can help me I would be very grateful.

Unfortunately it's a common problems on the 2008's Imac 20. Here is another discussion about it http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10379761 Looks thata the problem is a bug in bootcamp 3.0....the only way to solve it it's waiting that Apple will fix it with a patch or revert back to Vista.

    Hello,

    I posted previously:

After I`ve followed David`s  steps my computer`s sound started working again. But it didn`t last. The sound stopped working just one day after.
I did the procedure again, and it worked. But just for a few hours.
The second time I reinstalled the IDT codec I noticed at the device manager that there is no conflict at the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC.
Instead, the conflict appear in another item of the sound, video and game controllers topic: high definition audio device.
Is there another codec I should reinstall?
    Could anyone help me?

  • Re: NB200-134 - FN key not working after upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate

My FN keys of NB200-134 is not working after upgrading from Windows 7 starter to Windows 7 ultimate. I tried installing every drivers found on Toshiba website for my lappy but still it does not work.
    Help please

    Hi asalamk,
The FN keys are controlled by Value Added Package and Flash Cards Support Utility. I think you have forgotten to install these tools
You should check the Toshiba page again and download both tools. Start with installation of Value Added Package then restart your notebook. After this install Flash Cards Support Utility. Once again restart and all FN keys should work properly now.

  • Sound not working in windows vista using bootcamp

    hello everyone,

    any suggestions? thanks

    Hey Manuel,
I myself had the same issue, no sound and nothing indicating a problem. Insert your apple disc and click repair, reinstalls all the drivers, this fixed it for me, although I had several other drivers fail some weeks later, so started from scratch and been good for a month or so

  • Tecra M10 - Sound not working on Windows XP SP3

TECRA M10 Sound not working with Win XP SP3
    1. Drivers are installed from the toshiba web site.
    2. Chipset drivers and sound drivers were reinstalled no luck,
    3. Not Muted FN+Esc
    4. Device Manger All drivers ok

    Hi
If I understand you right all devices listed properly in device manager and you dont have yellow exclamation marks?!
Normally for high definition sound cards you need two patches from Microsoft:
    KB835221 and KB888111.
Normally these patches are integrated in SP3 but this only works if you install the sound driver after SP3. So if you have an older version of XP without SP3 you must update to SP3 first and then install the display driver.
So in your case you should remove the current sound driver and restart the notebook. Then use CCleaner to clean the registry and system folders. Restart the notebook again. Then download and install the newest sound driver from the Realtek Hompage.
    Bye

  • AUDIODG.EXE hogging 80-100% of CPU and sound not working in Vista . . .

I posted this on a Microsoft Answers Forum but none of the techs or people reading have been able to help so far.  I'm dying to get to the bottom of this:
    Here is my computer:
    MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum
    AMD Athlon 64 3000+
    2GB RAM
    XFX GEFORCE 6600 GT 128MB DDR3 DUAL DVI & TV OUT (PCI-E)
    200GB WD SATA HDD
500GB WD HDD in external enclosure via USB2
NEC ND-3520A 16X DVD±RW Dual Layer DVD Burner
    LG CD Burner
I've been using Vista Home Premium successfully for some time.  Recently, not too long after I did a clean wipe of my OS, my audio would stop working.  The way it would happen is that everything would work fine until I started iTunes or another audio application and when I would hit play, things would lock up.
Upon inspection of my system resources, I'm noticing that the audio platform for Vista, via the audiodg.exe, is using close to 100% of my CPU resources, even when the computer is making no sound at all.
I've had a Sound Blaster Live! card in my computer for some time but I was not using it; I use the Realtek AC'97 audio drivers that are on my motherboard instead.  I thought that the conflict may be the computer wanting to recognize my Sound Blaster, so I took it out of my computer but the problem seems to be worse.
Are there any BIOS setting that need to be adjusted for my sound to start working again?
I'm very reliant on the audio processing power of my computer (I'm in the radio industry, part-time) and this is a huge drag on my productivity.
Any tips would be much appreciated.
    REPLY #1:
Thank you for using Microsoft Answers forum.  I suggest going to the manufacture of your sound card and download the latest drivers and install them.
    MY RESPONSE:
Good suggestion.  The problem is this:
I am running on-board audio.  I have an MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum motherboard which runs "Realtek ALC Series AC97 Audio Driver" and there is no version for Vista. They have a version for Windows 2K/XP and one for Windows XP 64bit.
Should I use on of those and if not, then what?
    UPDATE (from me):
I took a chance and found a Realtek AC'97 driver for Vista.
    http://drivers.softpedia.com/progDownload/Realtek-AC-97-Audio-Codec-Driver-Vista-6183-Beta-Download-18114.html
I went to install it and the install hung.  So, I closed one of the install windows and then the InstallShield app continued like it was working.  So, I hit "Restart my computer".  Well, the reboot hung too.  So, I reset the PC manually.
When the computer came back up, the sound worked.  Hard to tell if this will fix it for good but it's promising.  Chaotic.  Unpredictable.  Annoying.
    REPLY #2:
Before you tried updating drivers, did you try rebooting 1st?
I'm just trying to determine if rebooting your system is what resolved the issue - thank you
    UPDATE II (from me):
My computer is behaving the same way it was before.  AUDIODG.EXE taking up 80-100% of my CPU and the sound not working.
    Any other ideas?

Small update: Despite my intelligence, good looks and vast experience I use Google sometimes. To my surprise this file turns out to be a Windows one. Here is someone who is much happier, and since it is some way in my line of thinking I'll quote it, but you might take my previous advice as well:
    http://forums.techarena.in/windows-vista-performance/1012315.htm
"- Open up msconfig.exe > Manage startup programs.
    - Disable ALL Realtek entries
    - Close msconfig.exe
    - Right-click on the speaker icon > Audio devices > Speakers (properties)
    - Go to the enhancements tab
    - Check the box to disable all audio enhancements
    - Close the menu
    - Right-click on the speaker icon > Recording devices
    - Disable all your microphones (yeah..., the actual problem seems to come
    from voice inputs rendering..)
    - Close the menu
    - Restart your computer"

    ValentinT, welcome to the forum.
There are no drivers available for Windows 8.  I suggest checking in the Control Panel/Sound/Recording to assure that your microphone is selected.  It seems that the Sound is one area that gets changed when updating to Win 8.1.  At least, this is what happened to me.

  • 5.1 sound not working

I have a X-Fi fatalty titanium champion series sound card with logitech z5500 5. speakers running vista x64 sp. I cannot fully utilize the 5. speakers for some reason. I have updated to the latest drivers, selected 5. speakers from both windows and the creative console launcher but then i get some butchered sound from only the front left and right speakers. I know the other speakers work bc if i only use 2. then i get the sound but it lacks the entire 5. stereo effects. Please [email protected]

    Re: 5. sound not working?
    cedricganon wrote:
Ive tried all those options but nothing. Device manager also says it is Creative SB X-fi. whats also suspicious is that if i use the sound card built into the motherboard, i get the same problem.
When testing the speakers i only have sound from the front left and right speakers. the others are silent. thats through both the vista tester and Creative tester
If that's the case I strongly suggest you test the speaker's connections out, probably on a separate PC if possible!

  • Sound not working on some progr

I have had Soundblaster Audigy 2 for several years on an XP system. All of a sudden sound will not work on MP3 players, Windows sounds, and things such as youtube videos. My sound works fine however on the games I have installed.
In the control panel under Sounds and Audio Devices it says "No audio device." I have uninstalled the driver and reinstalled but it didnt help.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via control centre : swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and it's the right-most of the 5 icons in the middle of it (if the icon is white then it's 'on', tap it to turn it grey and 'off'). The function that isn't on the side switch is set via control centre instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085
