  • How can I stop notifications for calendar events in a shared calendar?

I have a shared iCal calendar in iCloud. I share it with my wife, so she can see my work schedule. It is a bit annoying though that her iPhone keeps doing all my reminders and notifications for calendar events. I want her to able to see and edit my calendar but she'd like very much not to have her phone buzzing all the time.

    Andrei1,
So are you saying that if I, rather than assigning a uint to the column and row number for each tile, just assigned a string to each one in the form "#_#" then I could actually just assign the "adjacent" array directly to it instead of using a generic object to hold those values? In this case, my click event would simply check the indexes, one at a time, of all tiles currently stored in my "selectArr" array against the column/row string in the currently selected tile. Am I correct so far? If I am then let's say that "selectArr" is currently holding five tile coordinates (the user has clicked on five adjacent tiles thus far) and a sixth one is being evaluated now:
    Current "selectArr" values:
           1_0
           1_1, 2_1, 3_1
                  2_2
    New tile clicked:
           1_0
           1_1, 2_1, 3_1
                  2_2
                  2_3
    Coordinate search:
           1_-1
    0_0, 1_0, 2_0, 3_0
    0_1, 1_1, 2_1, 3_1, 4_1
           1_2, 2_2, 3_2
                  2_3
Essentially what is happening here is that the new tile is checking all four coordinates/indexes belonging to each of the five tiles stored in the "selectArr" array as it tries to find a match for one of its own (which it does for the tile at coordinate 2_2). Thus the new tile at coordinate 2_3 would be marked as valid and added to the "selectArr" array as we wait for the next tile to be clicked and validated. Is this correct?

Thanks a lot for help me!!!!

I have a nearly identical problem with my Ipad 3. Mine is the left channel. I've yet to find help, but have found a number of other posts on this and other forums discussing the issue. People have tried restore, reset etc. Also, cleaning the ports with compressed air or cotton swabs. It appears to be a software issue, but no one is sure.
Along with the original poster, I'd appreciate any help.
As far as the 'level 6' poster, if you're going to be rude, please don't bother. Hope it was just a bad day.

  • Why can't I get sound notification for my email anymore?

I am no longer able to get sound notification for send or receive email nor can I get sound notification for incoming phone calls.  What happened and is there a correction?

Before doing anything else, is your ringer switch in silent mode?  I'd try toggling the switch a few times to make sure it's working.  The phone should vibrate when you move the switch from on to silent.  If it doesn't then the switch may be broken.
Next make sure the volume for notifications is not off.  Check the Sound settings for this.  Changing the volume there should also cause your (phone) ringtone to play.  If it doesn't then there is something very wrong.
The only other thing I can suggest if the above doesn't help is doing a hard reset of the phone.  Hold power and home buttons down until screen goes dark and Apple icon appears, then let go.
If that doesn't work, then the only other thing you can try is doing a Backup and then a Restore in iTunes.  If that doesn't work, then there's a hardware problem.

  • How can I set repeating sound notifications for voicemails received?

Is there a way to set a sound notification for voicemail received?  Having to constantly pick up the phone to see if there is a VM message is
annoying.  My old dumb phone had a repeating sound for VM messages received.
Can this also be done for calendar entries, as a reminder?
    TIA,
    Chris

Not sure what phone you have but you might check your Sound settings and see if there is a setting for that but if not you might Look in the Google Play Store for Apps that ring or Vibrate a notification for your Voice Mail..
Actually I found this you might give it a look:  Click on the Link

  • Sound notification for SMS

How can I set a sound notification for SMS? Thanks!

For SMS, you are limited to the six default choices unless Apple changes that.
You can submit feedback to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.

Check the Mute switch, which is on the left side of the phone above the volume buttons.

  • Lost sound notification for incoming facetime

I recently lost the incoming sound that notifies me of a FaceTime call. I have checked all settings and cannot find anything I have changed.

    Hey there Mackenzie4.5,
It sounds like you are not getting the sound notification for your FaceTime calls that are coming in. I would check this setting in the Notifications section specifically to verify there is a sound setup to notify you:
About Notifications on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Go to Settings > Notifications to verify that the app supports notifications. If notifications do not appear in the Notification Center, make sure that the Notification Center setting for the app is enabled.
Make sure you’re signed in to your Apple ID.
If you’ve recently installed an app or restored a backup, open the app to start getting notifications.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • Stamina Mode: LED Notification for Calendar Events

Is there any application I should add to the Stamina Mode exceptions list in order to get LED notfications for calendar events? I have already added the respective calendar application to the list so sound notifications are provided but the LED will still not flash.
I have stumbled upon a relevant thread (http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-SP/Xperia-SP-Notification-LED-and-STAMINA-Mode/m-p/326146/highl... but it is from the middle of 2013 and the information provided therein might thus be outdated.
    Hints/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    nvx
    EDIT (2015-03-11):
I just noticed that -- even if Stamina Mode is turned off -- the notification LED lights up only after waking the phone up. Is this by design?  I mean, the whole purpose of a notification LED is to, well, notify the user about events that they have missed while the phone was locked / in sleep mode...

Stamina mode has been designed to turn the LED notifications off, as an effort to save as much power as possible. However, in products from Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1 Compact and later, the LED illuminates when there is an incoming call or message when STAMINA mode is on.
I tested here and it works like you say, the LED doesn't flash for calendar reminders even when Stamina is off. I will forward that as feedback but it may perhaps work if you download another calendar application as long as Stamina is off.

  • Notification for reconciliation events.

I have configured the task in the Design console for receiving the email notification for the recon events (insert and update) for xellerate User process form.
The steps that I followed are:
In the Design Console add the email notification information in the Reconciliation Insert Received (or Reconciliation Update Received) process task for Xellerate User:
    a. Open Process Management - Process Definition and query for "Xellerate User"
    b. Double-click on the box to the left of the task "Reconciliation Insert Received" (or "Reconciliation Update Received").
    c. In the pop-up window, click on the Assignment tab and configure to use the default rule, target type User, and set the "User" column to the login of the user who should receive the email notifications.
    d. Click on the Notification tab and check the "Assignee" checkbox, set the status to "C" for Completed, and then set the Email column to the email template to send.
I have setup the Email Server IT Resource as well as the email Ids.Still I am not receiving any emails for the events.
Am i doing something wrong in the design console configuration?
    Any help is appreciated.Thanks

In Assignment tab - As you have configured assignment of this user to some user, you can configure email as follow
Scroll right - provide email template name under "Email Name", click on check box "Send Email"
    Run PurgeCache.sh after these changes.

  • Sound Notifications for Missed Calls and Text Messages

Aside from the very small green light in the upper right corner (Bionic) - is there a way to get audio notifications for missed calls and texts?  I'm missing a lot of calls and texts because I'm not checking the screen constantly.  Thanks!

I am not sure about the Bionic phone specifically but I am pretty sure there should be notification sounds.
My phone, the Droid 2 global has ringtons, and notification sounds separately.
Have you tried looking in the sound settings?

  • Fixed my sound issues in KDE (no sound except for system events)

First, I'd like to say that I am by no means an expert and what I have below represents nearly a week of installing/reinstalling arch and trying various things to get my sound working correctly in KDE. In fact, yesterday I decided that I was just going to use mint because, even though I don't like it, at least the sound worked for me. I did decide to give it one more try this morning and finally was successful.
My system has an AMD A8-3850 processor, which I never would have bought if I had known all of the compatibility issues I would end up having with it. My problem was that I would hear event sounds in KDE (such as the start up sound) but I would get no sound within my browsers and flash and probably elsewhere. Also, even though I was hearing the system sounds, kmix showed my volume at 0% and that my device was muted. Trying to select the device in kmix didn't accomplish anything at all. Because of this, I had a feeling that the problem was that my sound was defaulting to my HDMI sound, which turned out to be right.
I'll try to be as brief as I can about the process I followed.
The first thing I did was get asoundconf from the AUR. I was then able to set my non-HDMI sound card as the default.
    johnr@bitstorm ~ % asoundconf list
    Names of available sound cards:
    Generic
    Generic_1
    johnr@bitstorm ~ % asoundconf set-default-card Generic_1
    johnr@bitstorm ~ %
From that point, I installed PulseAudio and worked my way through the PulseAudio page on the arch wiki. After which, I was able to bring up the PulseAudio Volume Control (pvaucontrol) and turn off my HDMI sound all together.
Still, my sound did not work, though. After some searching I came to this page: http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Softwar … ktops/KDE/ which basically said that my kmix wasn't compiled with with pulse audio support. After a search for kmix on the AUR, I came to this package: kdemultimedia-kmix-git
After installing that, I reboot and all is right with the world... or at least my sound in KDE.
So that's it. I am sorry if this is poorly written, I do not write things like this very often. I was so happy, though, that I was actually able to fix it and I did want to share since I imagine that I am not the only one to have this problem.

    Hi @shayanaijaz
    Thank you for your reply.
Here is a link to HP Notebook PCs - No Sound from the Speakers (Windows 7).  You can skip any steps you have previously done.
If after installing the original drivers from the recovery manager you still have an issue with the sound, I suggest you do a recovery back to factory.
HP PCs - Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 7)
During the recovery you will see an option to backup your personal files to prevent data loss.
HP PCs - Restoring Files that were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows 7)
You could also test the audio card just to rule that possibility out.
HP Notebook PCs - Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 7, Vista)
My last suggestion is to contact HP support for assistance.

  • My 5s is stuck on one sound notification for mail.

My iPhone 5S will not let me change the sound settings for ring tone/text tone/new mail/etc.  When I go to Settings--Sounds and make choices, they show on the screen, but the old/original sounds are still what the phone emits when in use.  I did update to 8 (or whatever it's called) and things don't work like they used to.  But these sound notifications are my basic problem.  Any suggestions?  Thanks, Ron

Try inserting and removing the headphone jack seven or eight times.

  • CUPC 8.6 (and older) - Sound Notification for Chat to wrong source

This issue originally came up in CUPC 8.5(6), but as I logged in to report it, I saw 8.6(1) was just released - I have confirmed the same issue still exists in 8.6 as well.
A user asked me how to get sounds to notify her when someone sent her a Chat message in CUPC.  She has two sound devices - a normal set of speakers, and a Jabra USB-based headset for communications.  When a chat would come in, she could not hear anything on her speakers, even with the volume turned up, the sounds enabled in CUPC, etc.
After a bit of experimentation, it appears the sound for Chat notifications goes to the "Speakers" audio device, and not the "Ringtone" audio device.
To me, this seems counterintuitive, since an IM alert sound is the Chat equivilant to a Ringtone - it's a notification that you have an incoming communication.  The sound is not audible unless you have your headset on, assuming it is a different device from your speakers.
I'd like to request that in the next update for CUPC, the Audio Alerts for Chat be set to use the Ringtone audio output, and not the Speaker audio output.  (Or, if needed, an option to choose which one is used be made available.)
    Thank you!
    -Geoffrey

    Hey Geoffrey,
I suggest that you open a TAC case so that we can verify this with our Dev Team. Once you open a case, I can work with you on this one.
