Sound on music apps

sound not working on some apps does anyone knwo why

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

  • IOS 6.1.2 downloaded. lost sound on music app

Can anyone direct me on how to get my sound back? I've rebooted, checked muting toggles, rebooted again. No success. This happened after I downloaded the upgrade. How can I fix or re download or go back to the earlier iOS rev?

You can not revert to an earlier IOS.  Besides, your issue is extremely rare.
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • [SOLVED] No sound on music apps with pulseaudio

Hi. I just installed pulseaudio on my arch in order to get a higher volume out of my laptop. My DE is gnome, and totem seems to work perfectly with pulse, but neither banshee nor rhythmbox seem too like it. Banshee gets very unresponsive when trying to play a song, and never even shows the slider moving forward, or make any sound at all. Rhythmbox has a similar issue, but without the unresponsiveness...
I'm not very sure how to debug this issue, To install pulse I followed the instructions from the arch wiki, including the configuration for gstreamer: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pul … #GStreamer
    Cheers!

Debugging would normally start with opening pavucontrol. What probably happened is that pulseaudio did not get control of your sound card, maybe some app plays sound before pulse starts. Or maybe totem itself grabs your sound card.

when i purchase ringtones and they download directly to the music app on iphone, how can I move them to SOUNDS in SETTINGS so I can assign to various functions please?

You would have to create the ringtones.
Google will find several way to do this.
You cannot buy ready made ringtones from your computer.

  • I lost the sound for all apps. Music plays fine but apps do not have sound?

How do I recover the sound in the apps, music plays fine on the iPad, but apps now have no sound.

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

  • Playing my music and sounds in the Music app in iOS5

I've loaded sounds and music that I've made onto my iPad via iTunes and they have played in the Music app quite happily in iOS4.
Now that I've updated to iOS5, only songs I've purchased in the iTunes store play, those sounds and music I have made will not play.
Is there a setting I should be aware of that will enable them to play?
It's annoying because it means I cannot use my iPad to play my sound work to directors...

It would help if you said exactly what steps you took to get your music from your old computer to your new one. Also where your music was located i.e. was it all in the iTunes Music folder or was it in other folders in My Music - this tends happen if you saved music outside iTunes.
The exclamation marks mean that iTunes can't find the tracks.
Note that one thing that can go wrong is that your account name is not exactly the same as it was on the old computer.
The default loction for iTunes music files is:
    c:\Documents and Settings\<youracountname>\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music.
You can see that the accountname is part of the location.

  • Why isn't there any music in my music app but sound is good everywhere else?

I able to go hear sound on my iPad except when i go into my music. Is there something i have to adjust in my settings? very frustrating!

If there are music tracks in the Music app but your can't hear them, then make sure that you haven't set the volume limit for the app at the minimum : Settings > Music > Volume Limit

  • TS3274 Getting sound for music, but not for game apps.  Checked settings and sound is on.  Any suggestions.

My volume controls work and getting sound for music but not for game apps.  I did check settings and sound is turned on under notifications and in the app.  Any help would be appreciated

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via control centre : swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and it's the right-most of the 5 icons in the middle of it (if the icon is white then it's 'on', tap it to turn it grey and 'off'). The function that isn't controlled via the side switch is controlled via control centre instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085

  • Hi, my brand new iphone 4 will not play music through my music app but it will play videos through youtube and will play the sounds throught my games and will play text tones and facetime ect. what is wrong?

hi, my brand new iphone 4 will not play music through my music app but it will play videos through youtube and will play the sounds throught my games and will play text tones and facetime ect. what is wrong?

At least I'm not the only one with the issue. I was looking it up so see if others had the same problem and found a bunch of posts about it. I'm assuming it's not the phone then, it's the software. Should I bring it to the Apple Store? Replacing the phone seems stupid, because the phone isn't really the problem. It's the software! Maybe the iOS 5.0.2 will fix it???  I don't really want to wait though, it's a pain. If a lot of people have this issue it should get Apple's attention. They need to do something to fix it, ASAP!

  • No sound from the 'Music' app after upgrading to iOS 5

After upgrading to iOS 5 I went to play music in the new 'Music' App. However, no sound came from the iphone (3gS) athough the songs continued to play. Has anyone encountered this issue and how have you resolved it. I thank you for responding to my question.

    Hi Guys,
I have post eariler on another forum and I have the same problem, I have tried all the things listed here and nothing was perminant in fixing this painful iphone hating problem.... and failed.  You probably have the problem when you use youtube or your music external speaker that there is no volume bar and no sound.   I have had the same problem But I need to happily say that I now have the fix!!!!  This worked for me and I fixed it by myself so you don't need to go to apple or service centre or anything.
Ok I like so many of you here truly believed this was as IO5 issue as it only dropped the sound on the speakers once that IO5 update came along.  I tried a bunch of reset, reboots, home clicks, lock and unlocks, to fix this and all failed.  some worked for an hour but then failed.  hours of my life that I will never get back.   but since I have learnt this is not a IO5 problem but a hardware issue! ...  and in paticualar is has to do with your bottom connection.  Your phone is thinking it is docked all the time.
To fix the no sound problem what you need is...
    1.  a torch
    2.  a tooth brush
    3.  methalated spirits
    4. a butter knife
    Step 1.
get your torch and shine it down the bottom connection plate to see what kind of dust, sand, hair or anything you have stuck in there.   all that need to be removed!  everything!  it might look clean but still thats ok go to step 2.
    step 2.
Turn on your music app and put the speakers on!  If your phone is like mine it should not work.  you most probably don't even have the volume display to turn it on but its ok, just do it! and it should still play with no sound.   its important you try and run the speakers as this will show you that it is a hardware problem.
    step 3.
Dip your tooth brush into some methated sprits.   then at your sink tap the exess metho out of your brush as you just want the brushes to be slightly damp, not soaking wet and then scrub the bottom connetiors on your iphone.  work the brush back and forward in a way that scoops the dirt out of the phone, not just pushing it side to side.
(As you bushing you should notice the volume bar come back on or off as you scub.   This happened to me and that is how I realised I was on the right track to fixing this problem as I was doing something external that was actually controling when the volume display came on or off.   but once I cleaned it this still didn't fix the problem...)
    Step 4.
Use the back side of a butter knife (not the sharp side) to gently slide over the connectors on the iphone.  Do this gently as you are only pushing down on the tiny metal contect bars and you should notice the volume display come on again.  slide it back and forward.  Now the area of interest is about 2/3 along the connection plate to the right.   This is the area that has the infomation sent when your iphone thinks its docked.
This has worked for me and I have not had a problem since I did this 2 weeks ago.   I have since learnt that the new IOS 5 has activated a different part of the bottom conectors.  if you have been using dodgy connectors or unapproved apple cables (as I was)  any damage or hair and dirt on the terminal this is effecting it.  Try it.   just remember if you can do something external to your phone then there lies the problem.
Hope this works for your phone as it did for mine.
    Cheers

  • In my iPhone 5s clock alarm sounds i have songs that i didn't sync to my iPhone but are purchased songs from years ago. if i accidentally select them it will end up on my phone in the music app. just annoying how.

so i tried to resotre my iphone from new such and such. but then i go to my clock and then alarm, sounbds pick a song. theres all these songs that i didnt sync from my mac. theyre songs from years and years ago, a few CPUs back, songs that i dont even have on my mac. anyways how do i get rid of them or change a setting as to not see them?

    Hi Gregg,
Have you tried resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, see if your Music app is behaving normally.
    Cheers,

  • In apple music app the music sound lower then in all the other apps. What can I do to change that?

Two weeks ago they where still the same volume, no volume limit activated.
    Thanks

The only other things that I can think of to the are to reboot the iPad or quit the music app completely and restart the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
To quit the music app completely - Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • Music App Stops Playing

I'm having an issue with the music app on my Iphone 5 (version 7.0.4) and my brand new Ipad mini (not sure what version). It plays the first few songs fine and then randomly stops, the play button is still an arrow (it's not paused, my head phones haven't come unplugged). The progress bar (thing that shows how much time is left on a song) stops moving as well. I can skip to the next song but it won't start playing either. Even when the music does play, sometimes my Ipad states that its playing the song I've selected but it is actually playing another song... If I restart either device, the app will work for a few minutes and start doing the same thing again. The first time my phone did this, I looked at all the obvious fixes (such as headphones, pausing, low battery, etc.) and couldn't come up with a solution so I unplugged my headphones and went to bed and about 10 minutes later was woken up by my music playing right where it left off. I have no idea why this is happening as I've had my phone for almost two years now, I haven't done any updates for 6 months or so and my Ipad is brand new, I literally bought it last week (really regretting now buying that store warranty). Anyone have any suggestions?

It's back!!!!!! The problem went away for a few days now same issue. It only happens when I am listening to sound files on the headphones - sudden pause then restart in the middle of playing the sound file, this happens with different music/podcase apps. No issue with bluetooth streaming or speaker phone. So it appears there is a software bug with Lollipop update - never had this problem with KitKat. Factory reset does not fix it. I wish there was a way to revert the phone back to KitKat. Hoping the new Lollipop update would fix this.
