Sound on my 60 gig ipod video goes out when I play videos only

It works fine on songs but when I play a video the sound stops at like 30 secs into the video. It does that on any video I play also it does it when I hook it up to my TV. I reset my Ipod and it still does it. Any help guys thanks

The sound rate may not be correct.
Also, did you make or download these videos from other sources (not iTunes) and convert them for iPod?

Try:

That's normal. A network drive won't mount by itself. You may want to add the drive to your login items and/or the login items of your boy's account.

Is that a USB drive? How have you defined access to that drive in AirPort Utility? If you set it to "Secure Shared Disks" "With accounts", you'll have to add his account.

JBL Sound Stage (I) and 60GB iPod Video

Bought the original JBL Sound Stage to use with my iPod 3G. Now have a 60GB iPod Video. Can't seem to order an adaptor for this new iPod from JBL (their website order form replies, "You don't need an additional adaptor, use one provided in the box.")
My new iPod is .55 thick. I do have several other adaptors for the JBL - - I believe one of the adaptors is for the 20GB 'color' iPod and the 20 GB 4G iPod, both .57 thick (just a bit thicker.) Would this adaptor be OK to use?

Will answer my own question, here (is that the ultimate in hubris, or what?!) - - got in touch with JBL, and they do recommend using the 20GB / 40GB 'color' adaptor for the new iPod 60GB 'video.'
If you have a 30GB video iPod, however, contact JBL and they will send you an adaptor / instructions for same. . . .

Virus Tranfer w/30 gig ipod Video

I have read previous posts and i just want some clarity.
I have a 30 gig ipod vid and i was wondering if i put music pics or vids on it from an infected computer can i transfer them to another computer. I read it is possible if you are transfering stuff to the second computer as if the ipod were a removable disk, but what if i only use the 2nd computer to load my ipod (tranfer only to the ipod) via itunes? Also if i used other software to transfer my music, vids, or pics, to the second computer could i tranfer a virus then? I ask cuz at an internet cafe i burned a cd with vids n music. I scanned them before doing so and upon inserting it to a friends computer before transfering the vids n stuff i scanned it and viruses appeared. I knew the cafe had some virus that always inserted an exe into the folders i stored my files in, so i was careful, and thankfully so! If it is possible, then before doing any transferring to or from my friends computer can i safely attach my ipod via usb to my friends computer and scan it incase, without putting my friends computer at risk? Question is long and drawn out, but i dont wanna ask more questions, you know? Thanks a mill in advance.

i would imagine that if the virus was attached to music/vid/pic, then yes, there is a very good possibility that you could transfer the virus to the computer. your best bet would be just saving it to disc(cd/HDD/flash), virus scan/clean and then uploading to ipod. good luck!

Ipod video only logo after power on

I've already done all tests in test mode (center button+<<), all tests are ok. But when I power on my Ipod 5,5G, I see only logo of Apple. I can't connect Ipod to PC, iTunes can't detect it.

I own an Apple iPod since march 2007. Some days ago
I found a problem that looks like some sort of memory
leak on the iPod embedded operating system. Without
access to the operating system source code and the
right debugging tools I cannot provide good feedback,
think. A short outline of the problem is this one:
Description of the problem: my iPod is set to repeat
a single audio file by default. After turning on the
iPod, there is a file in the "Now Playing" main menu
item. If we listen to this audio file we would
expect it being loaded from the HDD and continuously
played on the iPod. No more HDD I/O transactions
should be required. But the iPod is continuosly
reading information from the HDD (HDD transactions
are easy to observe when the iPod is on our hands).
To be more precise, we can note the heads moving
each few seconds.
Problems of this behaviour: (1) a short battery life
(under normal conditions, the iPod battery should
last more than seven hours). (2) the HDD heads are
not parked, so there is a real risk of the HDD being
damaged if the iPod gets hit.
Workaround: stop playing that audio file, choose
another one, stop playing it, and listen again to the
first one. Now, the HDD will read the file only one
time.
It would be nice if this problem is fixed in a future
firmware release.
What is the best method to manage this issue? I would like to contact with Apple's technical support staff. However, on Apple's support URL it seems that they expect problems with broken iPods (i.e., fixing/replacing damaged units), not feedback on problems like this one. Is there a way to open a problem report with Apple?
As I said, this is the only problem I see with this unit. No need to replace or ask for support on this iPod. I just want the firmware to be fixed, no other problems with this superb Apple product. Of course, this unit is running the latest firmware.

HT4534 I installed facetime on my computer in May 2011. It worked great at first,but now the volume goes out when I am on calls.What can I do to stop this from happening? Its not my speakers,I have used Skype and Google+ and the volume never goes out.

The volume on my facetime goes out very frequently. I can hear the person just fine, but they can not hear me. I have checked my app store to see if there have been any updates to the version of facetime that I bought in May 2011 and it's not. Is there anything that I can do to fix this problem?
By the way it is not my speakers. I have used Google+ and Skype, and they both work just fine and the volume does not go out.

Thanks, it seems that it doesn't like to play games, which is a bit of a bummer as i bought this specifically because it was capable of doing that. To be fair, it is capable... I just need to get used to a sound like sitting by a washing machine on spin cycle... Wish they would make people aware of this in the Apple Store, its very misleading and not at all desireable.

Audio drops out when listening to audio only of a video

Hi guys, some advice please.
I've converted one of my music DVDs to play on my ipod - ripped to my hard drive then converted with Videora ipod converter.
The files play fine in i-tunes and the videos play fine on my i-pod too.
However, when I play the audio track only [driving in the car] I get dropouts in the audio which appear to be in the same place each time. There's no similar dropout when playing the video as mentioned.
I don't get this, anyone have any bright ideas?

Actually, they're not dropouts as such but pauses in the audio.

Why does the App Store on my iPod kick me out when I try to search for an app?

The App Store on my iPod touch keeps kicking me out when I try to search for an app or when I go to genius. I updated to ios6 today and this hasn't happened before. What can I do?

I have the same problem on my iPod Touch 4 (IOS6). My iPhone 4S (IOS6) works fine. But the App Store crashes when I hit the Genius bar in App Store. Apparently other folks are having this same problem. I've rebooted, but that doesn't help.

Screen goes out when cover opened

I have a white Macbook. When I open the cover the screen goes out unless it is held at a certain angle.

It's one of four things and the liklihood in this order:
1) Inverter Cable
2) Inverter
3) Screen
4) Logic Boarad
If you're Macbooks under warranty take it to an Apple Certified Technician (Apple Store) and have them take a look at it. If not, and you can't afford to repair it, you're welcome to take a gander at repairing those parts. If you have the time, and can figure it out, try opening up the chasis reconnecting to cables to the monitor, as on some laptops they're taped on and eventually come lose.
This will likely void any active warranty.

60 gig ipod video, unable to view photos

No problem downloading photos from selected folder useing ipod options/photo. However when I select a folder of pictures from the ipod the thumbnails are blank, and when I select a photo and try to view it the ipod freezes, gets noticably warmer,there is a great deal of hard drive noise, and a reset is needed.
I haven't tried any videos yet, but mp3 files play just fine.
Any help would be appreciated.

Think I might of resolved the issue. Used ipod updater to errase and restore settings to my ipod, and used a new folder of photos and a resinc seems to have fixed it. I am going to add more jpgs and see if itunes will convert them for my ipod has well.

Cover For 80 Gig Ipod Video

the universal dock by removing the adapter. You do
not need to remove the iPod from the iSkin!
Which version did you buy? That have various models. Having one that actually allows you to use the dock without removing it, is what I've been looking for. But I can't tell which one it is looking on their web site. Can you point it out?

30 gig iPod video freezes

I've had this iPod since they first came out. What it's doing to my now is while playing a song, it just freezes. It won't play any more, it won't let me go back and forth in my menus, it won't fast forward, and most importantly, it won't let me reset! I have to unplug the charger and wait until the battery dies before plugging it back in and letting it come to life once more only to freeze again in an unknown amount of time. The only thing I can do once it freezes is if I touch the scroll wheel and the screen wasn't lit, the screen lights up and remains lit until the iPod battery dies. It does this without any movement at all and I'm using a dock connector plug for audio and charging simultaneously.

How about a reformat of the iPod using *Disk Utility*? This article provides instructions on how to do just that.
