Sound only with headphones

I have sound when I use headphones but when I unplug them, I lose sound and several apps tell me me i have no volume.  If I hit the home button twice the vloume bar comes up and it functions properly with headphones. As soon as I unplug the headphones the volume bar disappears.  Everything worked fine until I installed splashpoint. I have delted this app and stilll don't have sound.

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

If this did not solve the issue - restart or reset your iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • My ipad 3 does'nt sound only with headphones

my ipad 3 wifi doesn't sound only with the headphones it sound all aplications, my ipad have only 20 days of purchase

I am trying to understand your post but it is a bit difficult for me to interpret exactly what you are saying - and the point of confusion for me is where you seem to be saying that apps DO have sound. If that is true, that would rule out systems sounds being muted.
However - did you check to see if you have system sounds muted. You can flip the side switch and see if the sound returns or double tap the home button and swipe to the right in the task bar at the bottom and check the software switch all the way to the left.
If your iPad is less than 3 weeks old, I would make an appointment at an Apple Store Genius Bar and ask them to evaluate your iPad. Something is obviously wrong with it and if they cannot get the speakers to work properly, they will replace the device.

  • YouTube sounds stutter with headphones in iOS 7

In iOS 7 with my iPad 2, YouTube's sound is stuttering, sometimes completely missing. This only happens with headphones, the device speaker works fine. Also, most other web players work, so this only applies to YouTube. What can I do?

I wonder if you have the same issue I and others have.  For us, it always happens when resuming something using the button on the mic of the apple earbuds or earpods.  The audio will start, then stop after a fraction of a second.  Then once we press the resume button again we get stuttering.  Removing and reinserting the headphone jack will always fix it.  Does this sound like you?  If so, it's an apple issue that seems to be minor enough that it will never get fixed.  Has been around since at least the introduction of ios5 and reported on many versions of apple hardware.

  • I-Trigue 3300-no signal, no sound, only on headphones!!!!

    Hi!
Well i really hope, that someone has the same problem, 'cause i can't explain myself, why my system doesn't work anymore!!
Its a few weeks ago now since my I-Triuge 3300 System stepped out. It began with simple errors, always when i was chattin' on MSN, tones just disappeared, a few days later there was no more sound at all. Couldn't listen to music, couldn't play games with sound, nothing!!!!
I tried everything: plugged out every cable, checked the volume settings, drivers, system settings, acti've x and so on...nothing!! Finally i tried to plug my headphones in to the remote control box and look at this: there was sound!!!
So, what the heck is going on here?
I still got no Sound on my speaker system. That makes me so sad, i loved it, it worked perfectly! : (
Got no warranty anymore and i guess its not worth it to repair that thing...
maybe someone has a resolution for my problem
    thanx
    regards
    m

I also have this same problem, and came to this forum to post the issue, hoping to find a reolution.
Only mine didn't slowly stop working... it was working perfectly last night while watching movies, music, play games, xbox, etc., but today when I went to turn it on, there is no sound.
It's not the audio source, because I've tried my computer, xbox, xbox 360, mp3 player, none of them work, but with headphones they all work.
It's not the actuall 2 satelite speakers, because I plugged them into another 2.1 setup a friend of mine has, and they work perfectly.
Also, this is the wierd part, like he said, when i plug headphones into the volume control headphone jack, it works through the headphones, but the 2 speakers and sub won't output anything!
Is there any solution to this? I really don't want to have to buy an entire separate I-Trigue 3300 setup to get a working one... I really like the I-Trigue 3300 setup, so if this doesn't work out, I might have to just buy another... even though it's probably a small issue...
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Can I just ship my sub box into C.L. and have it returned working?
    Thanks,
    Danny (DannyDahl[at]gmail.com)

  • 4s no sound except with headphones....no tricks worked yet ??? anyone?

no sound atall unless headphones are inserted?

Clean iPhone charging port with clean dry toothbrush. See if better. If not, clean again with toothbrush and small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol. If still problem, faulty part could still be iPhone charging port with attached flex cable.

  • IPad Sound works only with Headphone.

My Ipad 3 sound is gone and it is only audible via headphone. I have reset the settings once but of no use.
Also I rebooted the iPad couple of times by holding down the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears, but this was also of no use.
Any help in this regard full be highly appreciated.
    Regards
    Abbas

    1. Double-click the Home button and swipe the Task Bar (at bottom) to the right. Check volume and mute settings.
    2. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple Logo
Note: Try the reset a few more times if necessary

  • My Pokerist app sound does not work, only with headphones....can anyone help me? Thank you

My Pokerist app sound does not work.  It will only work if I have head phones on.  All other sound works, songs, video etc.  I deleted the app, then installed again still no sound.  It is not the app because I also have a IPhone and the sound works on Pokerist.  If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.
    Thank you

Check out this link - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085.  There have been instances where settings have accidentally changed. Double click on the Home button, swipe all the way to the right to reveal the leftmost icon and alternate settings if necessary.

  • Click sound only in headphones?

Okay, I've looked for information about this on this and other forums and have found nothing addressing it. My brother has had a 4G iPod for a while now, and under Settings -> Clicker, it enables him to select from four options: Speakers, Headphones, Both, or None. My other brother just got a Nano and it gives him the same options. I have a 30 GB iPod Video and I would love to be able to have the click only play through the headphones. However, I only have two options for Clicker: On and Off. When I have it On, it appears to play through the speakers and the headphones.
So my question is twofold: 1. Why on earth would Apple take away the very handy ability to choose where you want the clicker to be heard? and 2. Is there anything I can do to get the clicker to only play through my headphones?
Any answer / speculation that anybody can give me would be very much appreciated, as I am baffled by this.

    Hi @thehannahbanana,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you are getting sound from your speakers even though your headphones are plugged in.  Firstly, please verify what the full product/model number is.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
It is possible that a driver needs to be updated, which the proper model number I can direct you to the correct page to find the drivers for your notebook.
Even though you are getting sound this may help as it covers many of the places you will often check with a sound problem. No Sound from the Speakers (Windows 8)
If that does not help fix it, then please post the product number, and then I can look for more specific pages for you.

  • Sound only from headphone port

When I play a song, the music comes through the headphone jack port. When I plug in my headphones to my ipod, I only get a little sound through them. Most of the sound comes from the jack port with or without the phones plugged in.
Is the connection bad in the port for the headphones? Is this a feature to have the music come through the port?
    Thanks.

Reset the iPod or restore. For instructions & other possible solutions read the iPod nano (5th generation) - User Guide.
