Sound Probl

There is something wrong with the sound port(?) on my Zen Micro, at first I thought it was my headphones but I've tryed 4 different headphones and it always happens.
If the bit that plugs into the sound port geta pushed forward or back the sound becomes quiet and sounds distant so you need to push the headphone bit left or right to fix the sound.
Is there anyway I can fix this or do I need to take My MP3 to a shop that fixes them?

Sounds like the headphone jack problem unfortunately. You're best to contact Creative Support.

Ok So let me give you the specs on my computer first,?Windows xp home editionAbit IN9 32 MAX Mobo2 Gigs corsair xms ram2 8800ultra sli gpusLogitech?z-5300 SpeakersSound blaster audigy 2 zs platinum sound card2 Samsung 500 gig HD?I dont believe that my problem is the same as is in the crackling sound thread. So here is my dilema. Up untill about 4 days ago everything was working fine with my sound system. I have the Logitech speakershooked up to my audigy 2 zs along with my xbox 360 in the optical in on the front plate. So like i said about 4 days ago i started playing a movie on my computer and i have the ac3 codec installed on my computer with comunity codec pack and i know that you could say that those 2 things could be my problem i know enough to know that that probably isnt. So when i played the movie and when to the ac3 codec and turned on dolby decoding so that i would decode it to all my speakers everything worked fine. Then when i turned on spdif decoding my center speaker?started to crackle so i figured it was just becuase i was useing spdif and dolby decoding at the same time. so i turned that off and then went to go play my xbox 360 in which i have pluged into the optical in part on the front plate. Everything had always worked fine for that i have dolby digital decodeing on for the audigy. So i started to play a game i realized that i center speaker was crackling on there too. So i started to realize that no matter what i did the center speaker was crackling. I even changed out the center and sub stereo jack on the card for the front left and right and then they started to crackle in that spot. So i dont know what the hell is going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated i was thinking of restoring my computer but i dont know whether that is necessary. I also dont want to have to go out and by the x-fi elite pro tomarrow unless I absolutely have to.Message Edited by TasteOfChaos on 0-0-20080:02 PM

I am brand new to this message system but I am so desperate for help I thought I would try it. After reading lots of comments I find that my problem may be more the rule than the exception. I have an Audigy @ Platinum card and all I ever get from it is crackling and popping. I have been around and around with Creative support but nothing they tell me results in a fix. I am so disgusted at this point that I am ready to just trash the whole thing. I have gone through the BIOS and checked so many settings its a shame. Still crackling and popping. I NEED SPECIFIC ANSWERS FROM SOMEBODY...not just the generic flip the wingle wangle to port xyz and move this to that. here has got to be an answer to this maddening problem. The other thing is that now I can't get my MIDI keyboard to play back. I must have turned something off in the set up process but now I have no idea what to do.
If anyone has any solid answers for me PLEASE come forward with them before I kill someone!

  • Odd surround sound probl

To my knowledge I have a 5. surround sound Logitech sound system. I have a green, orange and black jack plugs on the Logitech system to go into my sound card, and in that card I have a green, orange, black, blue and white jack plug receivers (lack of a better work) I am unable to toggle the center and sub woofer volumes from the Creative software that I have, namely Audigy Advanced MB. I thought it was a problem with the orange socket, so I did a test. I put all the plugs in their sockets Green with green, orange with orange and black with black: The Front left controls the front and rear left and sub woofer Front center does nothing Front left controls front left, rear left and sub woofer Rear left and right and the subwoofer do nothing. Is this a problem with the sound card or Creatives software? Or is it a problem with the actual speaker system its self? EDIT: Oddly, All the speakers can be independently controlled via the windows speaker volume in the volume control although all the sliders seem to have an effect on the subwoofer. I know, that all seems so confusing, and it is. Does anyone have any idea whats up?

Hi this might sound stupid, but have you set your sound card to 5.. I dont have a X-fi, so cant comment on where the option?is, but id assume it would be under some speeker settings. Regards?Pabs

I also have a set of old Cambrige Soundworks 4. speakers which, when plugged in sound normal, but I havent really tested rear output.
My understanding is that, when set to headphones, all sounds should be sent to L or R channels, am I right or wrong? Would getting some splitters from somwhere and running all 3 jacks into solve my problem?
I kinda feel the problem lies somewhere between the game interface and the SB drivers, but Im not having luck with this problem on any Valve boards.

  • System Crash by Audigy 2 ZS ...... (Critical Display & Sound Probl

    Hi All,
I have Creative Audigy 2 ZS and T7700 Speaker system. And i am currently running Windows XP Professional OS.
I have problem while running media source application, the system crashes after few minutes of operation. Earlier the system used to hang very rarely while running media source application. But it has become very frequent now. The system displays gets hang and it show noisy screen and the speaker output also chances to noise. Then i have no other option other than to turn off the system power and reboot the system again
I have tried after removing Audigy sound card from the system and the system worked fine for whole day with out any problems.
I am using intel motherboard D865GVCHZ. I have updated the system BIOS and latest drivers for the motherboard, but that was of no use.
Please help me to resolve this issue
    Thanks

    Thanks for you immediate response.
I have not removed the software & drivers installed for the audigy. But i tried after removing the Hardware (Audigy Sound Card) from the system.
I have installed all the drivers which comes along with the installation CD of audigy sound card.
After removing the audigy sound card from the system. I tested playing some movie file over windows media player and that work fine, although there was no sound as i had removed the sound card from the system. I used the system for running all complex softwares like WINDVD, WINAMP etc. as well as other development tools to find if the problem is due to motherboard or due to some other drivers. But i didnt find any problem in the system at all.
    Thanks

  • Creative Recorder Sound Probl

I have been using Creative Labs since 2003, and I was always able to record music from the internet, just using the recorder and setting it to Stereo Mix. About a month ago, something happened, and when I bring up the recorder, the volume seems to come on immediately to about half way!? So, I recorded a small test file, and when I played it back, it was a constant feedback sound, which prohibits me from hearing anything. I am at a loss. I reinstalled Soundblaster and it still does not work. I have disconnected all input devices and it still gives me that dronic static sound. Anyone had this problem before!?

Have you shut off all the input devices in the Creative mixer program. You didn't mention which sound card you had but on the Audigy that was around in about 2003, it would be the Creative Surround Mixer program; there should be an icon for it in your system tray.

  • Soundblaster live 24bit - sound probl

OK, so i have had my card for about a year now, but only just started using the machine that has the SBL24 to play games.
i have identified 2 problems so far:
. when playin tombraider legends, the sound is crackly, and poppy and very annoying!
    2. when using Teamspeak whilst gaming, the sound is crackly, stuttery, poppy and quite franckly Inaudible.
i upgraded to the latest drivers, but to no avail. my mobo is nforce3.
    thanks.

i guess creatives products are just cack then! all i have read on these forums is how people from a variety of different soundcards, experience this pop and crackle noise. but yet, no proper drivers fix for most! and the fix they suggest rarely seem to work. certainly not for me!
quite frankly, im rather anoyed that creative are being allowed to get away with this. i for one will NOT be buying anything in your range again.

  • Ubisoft game sound probl

    Aight, here's the deal:
I have all the newest drivers for my card (SB Audigy 2 ZS Plat) and the newest drivers for the games in question. The problem is that my Ubisoft games (Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six 3, Far Cry) have messed up sound. Some of the channels play, but others do not. I think this is a conspiracy brought on to me by the people of France. Undoubtedly it is a scheme <SPAN>aimed to bestow the most potent hypnotic mental handicap ever concei'ved by mankind on an unsuspecting American. See, by playing only a select number of tracks, a form of <SPAN>highly advanced subliminal messaging effecti'vely controls my thought processes, rendering me a slave to all that is France. I will fight this diabolical scheme until my last breath, but already I am noticing myself succumbing to its inevitable mental slavery.
    <SPAN><SPAN>
<SPAN><SPAN>All jokes aside, anybody have any idea as to what my problem is?
    <SPAN><SPAN>
    <SPAN><SPAN>Thanks,
    <SPAN><SPAN>Bunzofsteel

I've got the newest Catalyst drivers for my radeon and the latest bios for the intel mobo... I should mention (silly me) that this was not an issue before I bought a new HD and set up the old one as a slave... I don't see any way this could possibly be causing my problem... but after I did that is when I started having the problem. I downloaded the Prince of Persia 2 demo the other day (by Ubisoft) and I experienced the same problem. What the heck is the deal?!
I have tried software audio rendering, hardware audio rendering, Hardware w/EAX... all of the options. It is just curious to me how only Ubisoft games are giving me this grief. The funny part is they are not even "related" other than the fact that the are Ubisoft games... 2 FPS's, 2 3rd Persons...

  • Zen Micro, Sound proble

Well, My Micro is out of warrenty. Way out of warrenty. Ive had the problem for ages but havent found anyway of sorting it.
My player sounds like its underwater. Or the vocals wont be there. To cut a long story short. Im a tad p*ssed off. And Im thinking my MP3 player is cr*p. What can I do to fix it as my brothers and my Stepdads dont do this. Ive noticed that alot of people also have this problem? Is there a way of rebooting the player and that will fix it's Because there is no way I can afford to buy another MP3 player of any type. Let alone another Zen.
    Thanks.
    Dan.

I have the same problem with the headphone jack...and have read all the posts. Support says that this problem requires you to send it in and have $25 worth of labor and $00 worth of parts. So, you pay $20 for a problem that is clearly systemic. Do a search of "headphone jack" on the message board and it's clear this is all over the place. Yet the customer service representati've had NO idea that there was a message board OR that this was a continuing problem. I swear to god that I will make sure no one I know ever buys a Creative product again.

  • Company of Heros sound probl

Hello all, I'm hoping someone can help.
I was playing the Company of Heros Demo and after about 0 mins of gameplay there was a high pitched screech which crashed my PC. I gather this is an issue with some Audigy cards.
I have since tried different drivers and changed hardware acceleration settings etc.
This seems to have solved the problem with the screeching.
    HOWEVER:
Gameplay isn't smooth. It still has good FPS but doesn't look as it should.
When I disable the sound card, this solves the problem as the gamplay looks great and is very smooth with high FPS.
Obviously, playing a game without sound isn't ideal.
What am I doing wrong? What could I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks,
    Andy B

Read this thread. Same problem but I don't know if the 'solution' applies to you.

  • CS:S Speaker/Sound Probl

Since installing Vista (twice to get it working properly..) i've come across a few errors and managed to figure them out myself but this one just doesn't make any sense at all.
While playing Counterstrike Source in the settings i have '2 Speakers' selected if i then select '5. surround Sound' or any other setting and press ok i go back to my settings and again it's back to 2 Speakers.
It's making my sound jump alot so i can't really tell what im hearing.
    Can anyone help?

That's all down to how individual games handle it.
Try looking in the settings menu of the game in question.
There is no system-wide option to divert controller audio to HDMI output. There's only an option to contol its overall volume.
