Sound profiles in Z10

Can I have custom sound profiles in Z10.
For eg: I would like to have a Bedside mode profile where I can set ringer to a particular volume.

  • Sound Profiles - exceptions

On my old Blackberry I was able to edit ring tone profiles with exceptions.  For example, I could set it on 'Silent' at night but apply an exception that certain contacts would ring through.  That way, if my teens were out, they could call or text me but every other call/text/e-mail would be silent.
Is there a way to do this on the 8530 Curve?
    Thanks!

  • Sound Profile - Contact Alerts

RIM, I do like having the ability to set individual ringtones for my contact's phone numbers, but not a huge fan of the Tour having you select a specific ringtone for any messages received from that contact as well, this overrides the alert you have set for any emails or text messages in general.  I would prefer for contacts to only have a set ringtone for phone numbers, not messages.  I preferred the Sound Profile Options on my Pearl when a text message had the text message sound, or an email had an email sound as I set in my sound profile regardless of the contact.

I realize you don't have to set a custom ringtone for a contact.  My issue is I want to have a custom ringtone only for when they call me, but the way the Tour's Sound Profile is set up, you have to set a custom ringtone for both Phone Calls and Messages, you can't do just 1 or the other if you want to.

  • Automatically change sound profiles

I keep forgetting to turn my phone off silent mode when I leave work.  The bf is getting really irratated that never answer my phone.  Is there a way (either through the BB or an application) set my phone up to automatically change the sound profile change at a certain time of the day?  I have a curve 8530

What sound are you talking about?  If you want to use Find My iPhone (which is used for any ios device, like a touch), there is no sound that's part of the equation.

  • Missing basic feature: sound profiles

Less than a week ago, I became an iPhone owner.
At the moment, I'm stumbed because such a simple feature as "sound profiles" (which Nokia has since last decade) isn't available in our brand new iOS5 or App Store.
This is a formal request to Apple Engineers: either let developers create an application as such or create one for us. A good example for you to look at: Android app 'Setting Profiles Lite'.
I wonder if my 4s ever will see the day of light of such an app!

You are not addressing Apple here at all.
If you want Apple to read it then post to their feedback link:

  • Download different preset system sound profiles?

I just purchased my new laptop 2 days ago which came with the new Windows 8.1. I have spent several hours scouring the internet for sites that have sound profiles that have already been set to each event, so I don't have to spend the next 11 million years
    setting each one manually.
I am quite displeased with the lack of personalization features especially after how much I paid, which a lot of the cost was for this new-fangled OS. There is only one set of system sounds, and it is extremely quiet compared to the rest of the sounds such
as any playing music, Skype message/call alerts, etc. Even at full volume, I cannot hear the system sounds and that is annoying to me.  I want to hear when I click on anything or open a link, the familiar crisp and loud "tick" sound from Windows
    7, but it is missing.
I only want the sound profiles, I don't need a bunch of picture sets or other graphically related things, just the preset sound files that are ready to go as soon as you download them.  This shouldn't have been an issue with new aged technology like
this.  I personally think the interface customization options should be much greater, but there is only 12 or 14 factory wallpapers installed, and there is no diversity in the selections. I know its no big deal to download a high resolution wallpaper
from anywhere online, but after paying several hundred dollars for Windows 7 with a new skin on it, one would expect to at least be able to find one or two customization settings that suits their desires, but due to lack of any choices, I have not been able
to become comfortable with my new system.
If anybody has any information on where I might be able to find some sounds, that would be great.  Look forward to getting this figured out.
    Thanks,
    Steele

Did you download these songs from ITMS? or some other source?
Check the bit rate on the songs via itunes and see what it says. It will give you some information as to why the songs sound the way they do.

  • Suggestion: Manipulation of Sound Profiles within the BB Desktop Manager

How many times have you had to adjust, readjust, and/or set up a new or change a sound profile. It is kludge at best on ANY blackberry device. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to minipulate sound profiles with a click or a drop down on your desktop as well????? Sure would save me time... Just a suggestion
Maybe someone has made this recommendation before.... If so great! If not, let's hear it from the mass-BB-users out there - input??
    Thanks!

  • Why no sound profiles on 10?

    Rim - I want sound/notification profiles back
    What was wrong with
    Normal
    Loud
    Medium
    Silent
    Vibrate Only
    Phone Calls only

I want the ones like hitting "K" to toggle sound profile to silent. Although without sound profiles there's not much use for  a shortcut to it. True speed dialing, one-touch from the home screen is another thing I miss. Or launching an app with just a keystroke. Those are the things that made using a BlackBerry so darn efficient it was addictive.

  • Blackberry torch - lost all sound profiles

    Hello nikkib1,
    Welcome to the forums.
Try clearing your Sound Profiles database using the BlackBerry® Desktop Manager as shown here http://bbry.lv/HPDqUG Then test again.

  • How do you manage sound profiles?

Is there anyway to manage sound profiles? It seems like I have to manually turn each sound setting off if I don't want to be alerted at night. I still want rings to come through. Is there not a way to set up profiles so I can set all the sounds according to the profile?

From what I can tell the iPhone (ios 5x) does not have a feature equivalent to the Blackberry "Sound Profile".  Nor do I see an app that will provide this.
For example, on the Blackberry I could set a sound profile called "Loud" which would have the individual ringtones, vibrate and volume settings I want for when I'm in a noisy place.  I could have another setting called "Quiet" with the settings I want in a quiet place, a setting for "Silent" etc.  Then I  could simply select which Sound Profile I want to be in effect. Very useful, very convenient, very easy to use.
The iPhone has the ability to set global sound parameters (volume, alert sound, ring tone) BUT does not have the ability to save sets of global sound parameters for instant retrieval and use by the user. This is, in my view, a shortcoming.  Not a show-stopper, but a shortcoming.
Not to compare Blackberry devices to iPhones, but the "sound Profile" feature in the Blackberry is very useful and I wish Apple would provide ths feature and urge them to do so.

  • IPhone 4 Sound Profiles

Does anyone know if Apple has created an app for sound profiles yet for the iPhone 4?  My blackberry had that option and I really miss being able to turn off all sounds except texts at night.  It seems like such a simple app to create and I'm surprised I haven't been able to find it.

I'm with ya, Jen - I sure wish there was an app like this as well. It would be incredibly useful for a lot of people. I can only imagine that there's something about iOS' security model that makes an app like this difficult. I do know there are some out there for "jalbroken" phones that look great, but I have no desire to go down that path.

  • Sound Profiles

    Hello all,
I am very confused about what the following pertain to in changing volumes/ring tones:
-Browser (Web browser? If so, what's the sound for?)
    -Level 1 messages
    -Messenger- Alert
    -Messenger- New Message
-Tasks (is this for the calendar?)
Also, how do you change the alert ring for when you get a new voice mail?
    Thanks for your time....

    This is your PIN messages!
    Messenger - Alert
Continued conversation with a blackberry message person.  (this is the conversation and alerts when they write you back)
    Messenger- New Message
This is your blackberry messenger alert sound when a new person sends a message with a new conversation.
-Tasks (is this for the calendar?)
Yes this is for the calendar
I hope this helps some!!  I may have the message and alert message for blackberry backwards.  Not sure what the browser alert.
Have a good day and enjy the blackberry

  • BBM Profile Picture Z10

When I update my profile picture on BBM it changes on my phone, but it doesn't change so that my contacts see the same picture.?

Hi, I solved the problem. I did a security WIPE. I 1st did a backup via BlackBerry Link on my laptop.
    Now working just fine.

  • Purity pro wireless and sounds profiles on Lumia 9...

I am having an annoying issue with the Purity Pro.
The problem is when I am listening to music and using my phone. When a text comes in, it automatically reads it to me and interrupts music playback. Basically, using the phone and listening to music at the same is really annoying and almost impossible.
In the Bluetooth menu it shows that the headphones are connected to music, and voice.
I cannot find a solution, but think that maybe if I could only connect it to music, it might solve the issue. Is there a way to do this?
Or is there a way to toggle notifications on/off. I tried through the Purity Pro App but none of the options seems to do it.
    Thank you so much.

Hi there - in order to change the setting for your Lumia 920 reading your text messages to you when they come in - go to Settings>Speech and there are several options for "Read aloud incoming text messages" - I'd recommend OFF if you're finding that feature intrusive.
I hope that helps and you're able to enjoy your Lumia and the Purity Pro headphones!

  • Sound System/Profiles Clarification requested

    Hi all,
I am having difficulties with my sound profiles since a while, and after searching here and google I can't figure it out.
For the basic info, I am running archlinux 32bits on my desktop with three users set-up - with pulseaudio and alsa.
Trouble is that most of the time - and not all the time when I login (first user set-up and admin) my sound is muted, and sometimes my device is change. For my wife it is the same, and for my son who connect very rarely (at the moment) it is always muted and the device is always the wrong one.
I have tried to save alsa profile, also tried to deleted all the profile to set them up from fresh - but nothing fixed the issue for good.
I am stuck and do not know what to do or look into any more.
Any guidance or idea would be welcome.
    Thanks,

    Right,
After a bit of investigation - the trouble is coming because my speakers were plug on the Green at the rear panel (labelled front) - and the muted was happening when I had my Headphone plugged in on the top panel of my desktop.
Issue is that I want to have both available at the same time - and before few months I never had the issues.
Anyway, I now plugged my spekears on the black output on the rear panel - this is the "Surround" channel found via alsamixer. I unmuted it (via alsamiser) and run sudo alsactl store. But upon every reboot the #@*~# channel is still muted?!
Where am I getting it wrong??
    Update:
I have created a script to be executed when login - but the card changed number (ie HDA INTEL became 1 - and HDA NVIDIA became 0) so that didn't worked and yes I could write a script that check that number but quite honestly this is becoming rather stupid!
So I played with alsa service. And if I execute "sudo systemctl restart alsa-restore.service" the Surround" channel is unmuted and back at 100%!!
So why is this channel muted every time we reboot???
