Sound quit on my game apps

I cannot hear the sound when I play my game apps.  The side volume button is all way up and the sound bar on the sound scale (when tapping the home button twicw) is in the middle.  What could be the cause?  I have the new iPad.

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

  • TS3274 Can not get my sound to work on games apps

Can anyone help. Cannot get any sound on my games apps, I think my son has had his hands on it again. It has happened once before but I can not remember how to switch it back on.
    PLEASE HELP
    THANKYOU
    MIKE

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

  • The sound on all my game apps is gone.  What can I do?

The sound or my game apps is suddenly gone. It seems to be working on other apps. It is not working for my keyboard either. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Someone said to make sure the side button is set to rotation and not mute in settings. I did and it was on mute. Don't know how this changed, but I was glad to fix it!

  • TS1702 I lost all sound in my game apps why?

I lost all sound on all my game apps why?

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
IDT Audio Installer - Windows 7.
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold  down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.
    Regards,

  • How do I get sound to work  for games...?

How do I get sound to work for game apps, when I have sound for other items on ipad2?

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085

You have your mute button on.  In Settings check to see if you have Lock Orientation checked or Mute checked on the right hand side.  If you have Mute checked, all you need to do is click the mute button above the volume control buttons on the upper right hand side of your iPad.  If you have Lock Orientation checked in settings, you double click your home button and the most recent apps will appear.  Swipe your finger to the right until the Mute icon appears on the left side.  Touch it and you will unmute system sounds.

  • Loss of sound in games apps

First let me say that I am an Apple/iPad newbie.
Without making any settings changes, all of a sudden I have lost all sound in my games apps. At first it was just partial sound that was lost, but now it's everything.
Read through some other discussions re: this issue, and checked the switch next to the volume button. Shows that sound is not muted.
I have a 4th gen iPad with iOS 6.1.3. This machine is only 2 months old so I am a bit disappointed since I was glad to be off Windows and its quirks. Please tell me there is an easy fix.
    Thanks.

I'm having trouble trying to get sound on my game apps, the volume on the phone is fine but the game apps have no sound and I cant hear alerts etc.
Can anyone advise me on what I can do to restore the sound. The Apps only have sound through my earphones.

Try switching the Ring / Slient switch on the side of the iPhone.
Some games will go into silent mode when you toggle that switch.
