Sound Receiver Stopped working after iOS7 on iPhone5
I have been using iPhone 5. After installtion of iOS 7 my receiver stopped working. I can use bluetooth, speaker and headphone. But i cannot use phone receiver. I started working for a day after iOS7.0.2 for a day after that it stopped working one more time. I took it to Apple store; they replaced my receiver but still does not work. According to them it's out of warranty as i purchased the phone on first day when i went on sale and it's more than year. Anyone has any clue. The replacement cost is $269.
Any idea???
My daughter has the same problem. The speakers work but not the sound receiver. Going to call apple tomorrow.

For your iCloud backup, you may have an app that is preventing the backup from succeeding. If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again. If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails. If you turned iCloud backup off and try to sync to create a backup on your computer and got a "waiting for sync to start" error, it may be caused by a corrupt backup on your computer. You could try deleting your last backup by opeing iTunes and going to Preferences>Devices, clicking on your last backup and clicking Delete Backup. Then try again. -

My PC is a Compaq CQ58, and this same thing happened before over a year ago, I simply system restored it, but I don't want to have to do that again.Hi
Go to device manager and uninstall the sound driver then restart the unit and check if sound is back.
Try to update the Sound and Bios from HP website.

My Zii Sound D5 stopped working after one year
Hi there,
After one year of enjoying my beloved Zii Sound D5 it stopped working with any apparent reason. It just does not switch on.
I dont have any technical knowledge but after reading a few messages in the forum my guess is that the problem is related to a power spike.
Can anyone help?

Sound suddenly stopped working after reboot
I just got KDEmod installed and working. Sound was working in it before I rebooted, to get ntfs-3g and hal working so I could mount my Win7 partition. When I got back into KDE, I was notified that "The audio playback device *** does not work. Falling back to ." I googled around all day, but couldn't find the cure for this. Before the reboot, I installed hal and dbus through pacman, and added them to my DAEMONS=
I'm thinking it has something to do with hal or dbus somehow, is there anyway I can undo what I did? Or is there anyone else who had/is having this problem that could help?Same issue here after upgrading from KDE 4.2 to KDE 4.3.
Whenever a system sound has to be played, I have this notification:
"The audio playback device does not work Intel ICH6 with STAC9750,51 (Intel ICH6). Falling back to default."
Then it does fall back to default device and correctly plays the sound.
However, when I run JuK, after displaying this same notification, I have no sound, or rather, I rarely have sound (sometimes it takes a couple of seconds to start to play, more often it does not start at all).
I don't know if it's related, but video stopped working as well after migrating to KDE 4.3: Dragon Player just hangs when I try to open a video file ?
And yes, my user belongs to audio group, and video... -
App password stopped working after IOS7 update
iPhone: 3rd party app purchased via iTunes App Store. "My Disk" worked great, until I did the IOS7 update, then the password stopped working.
Creator, "Weihe Mo" will not answer emails or FaceBook IM's. I'm at my wit's end. Is there any way to break through a password for an App?So the password for the app is no longer letting you into the App? You were right to contact the app developer for support, because it is a non-Apple applicaiton. Apple has nothing to do with the app or being able to make it work. Keep hounding the developer for support, that is your only avenue of approach for this.

Internet share stopped working after IOS7(iPhone)
Hey. Before i updated my iPhone4 to IOS7.0.2 it could easily use internet share to both my laptops. but now, i can only use to one of them.
Well.. if i'm lucky. i can for 3 minutes on the other. then it jumps off again. for like.. hours.. then it can be on 3 minutes again.
When i use "failuresearch" on my laptop it comes up with different things.
That i should try turn it off, that i should check if it's the right password, that i just can't connect and some other reasons.
I've tryed for weeks to make it work somehow now.. i and don't know what to do.
Hope any of you can help me!

Thanks for the question, and great troubleshooting. Based on the information you have provided, it sounds like there may be some debris in your headphone jack - as the phone seems to think that something is plugged in.
iPhone: No sound or distorted sound from speaker

1. Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
2. Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
3. If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
4. Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.

T410 - Sound card stopped working after Lenovo System Update
hi all!
yesterday I performed a system update trough the ThinkVantage System Update 3, I chose a complete update (even the BIOS).
After the update, the sound card is not working anymore: everything in the control panel looks fine, volume is up and all's connected, but no sound is coming out, with the exception of the skype system sound when starting/quitting the application...
No system restore is possible (it looks disabled by our IT dept), updated the drivers via windows update, but no help.
Any clue?

I have a bunch of movies, and seasons downloaded onto my Mac Pro, and I just recently installed Lion.
Now I cannot watch any of my movies, or seasons..
Im wondering if it has a lot to do with the previous software I was using isn't compatible with Lion..

ThanksSo, I spent about an hour on the phone to Apple Support (there is no Apple Store here in Hong Kong yet!).
I was asked to delete a system file, and restart, Check my HDD in recovery mode, and boot up in Safe mode - all to no avail!!!
I then got very worried when the technician started saying something like "Do you have all of your files backed up somewhere???"
I have a LaCie Wireless Space, which has not been updated to provide Time Machine bakups again! Old ATF problems, so until the time that I get this sorted, no, I will not erase my HDD!!!
Anyone with this problem who has had it fixed?

Common problem.
Check the headphone port - if you can see a red light, the port is still live, cutting off the internal speakers.
The cause is a little leaf switch that is pushed over by the jack when you insert it. Sometimes these stick.
Try inserting and removing a jack a few (dozen) times.
If that doesn't free it you may attempt to tease it with a slim non-conducting tool (like a toothpick). Ensure the Mac is not only shut down, but unplugged if you try this.
And be careful; the leaf is fragile and it's an expensive bit to get to and replace, in fact on some models it's directly on the logic board. -
I have a 2012 17 inch MBP, and regularly pair it with a Jambox bluetooth speaker for music. After pairing it, sound frequently stops working in Flash - Youtube videos and the like. Only restarting seems to do the trick. What's disabling the sound, and is there a way to re-enable it without the hassle of restarting?

After removing adware, and do a safe boot of Safari and remove extensions, then reset cache history etc. You need to do a boot into Recovery Mode and run Disk Repair from there. Also boot the system in Safe Mode.
On startup it sounds like you have a problem with the directory which would also account for long startups and checking the directory. Along with or instead of DU Repair Disk you can use Single User Mode and fsck -fy to try to fix the directory but in some cases that may not be enough.
Backups from before you got this adware and problems helps and should always be ready and able to restore a system from known good backups or system restore image.
4GB of RAM may have been fine originally but "Early 2011" is now 5 years and 4 OS version changes. You can upgrade the memory and while at it consider a nice SSD internal drive which will help as well. Take a look and see what prices and options there are from http://www.macsales.com for your 2011 MacBook Pro.

Pavilion g6 sound stops working after a while
Over the past week the sound in my laptop has begun to stop working after a while of the laptop being on. It works initially but after a while when I check it doesn't work anymore. The mute button does not mute work, the volume increse and decreases on the screen but it does not affect the absense of sound. Please Help.
System Details: HP Pavilion g6, Windows 8HI. I'm having the same problem. This has been happening for some time now. I can play anything with sound and then it suddenly goes and I can't use the mute/on/off or work out what's happening. Is it a fault?

WIFI stopped working after I woke the computer up, now says connected to the network but not the internet, all other coputers and devices connected still with no problems, have pinged IP address from router and got the message "4 packets sent none received"... Help
I have tried network diagnostics which doesnt help... The only other ting is, when I woke the computer up it said tat another device was using my IP... My wife had plugged her phone into the computer to charge etc but even when i turn wifi off on the phone there is no change... also in settings on the phone the IP address is different...The answer to your question is - neither!
Your PC should to configured to obtain an IP address automatically, and to obtain DNS server IP addresses automatically, from the Airport Express. This is the way Windows (and Macs for that matter) are configued by default, and that is the way most people have their computers set up. If you manually configured your PC's IP address to be the same as your wife's Mac, it certainly explains why your PC is not able to access the internet. -

From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy/paste: /Library/Preferences
Click Go then move the com.apple.soundpref.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash. -
Iphone 4S sound issue - sound stops working after a few minutes
The sound on my iphone 4S stops working after a couple of minutes, including both the headphones and the loudspeaker. If I unplug the headphones and replug them in, the sound starts to work again, but only for a few minutes until it conks out again. How can I fix this problem?

The only additonal troubleshooting options after powering the iPhone off and on, an iPhone reset, and resetting network settings on the iPhone is restoring the iPhone with iTunes from the iPhone's backup and/or restoring with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup.
If no change after restoring as a new iPhone or not from the backup - the same when connected to any wi-fi network besides your own as well as not being able to maintain internet access when connected to your carrier's cellular network, the iPhone has a hardware problem.
