Sound recorder/converter for .au format

I am using jdk1.1 and it seems it only likes .au format for sound files.
I couldn't use Sound Forge; saving was disabled. And I got some others in shareware.com. But they were hopeless as well. Most just didn't work.
Is there any reliable shareware app out there I can use to convert from .wav to .au or just simply record .au files?

Excuse me, the url has changed:

Yes! I got it, recorded .au format and played it in my java applet. Great thanks. I should have posted this earlier. would have saved my afternoon.

  • Recording converter for microsoft office live meeting: the sound is lost after a minute

I have a recording of a WebEx Live Meeting (ReplayMeeting.htm and all directories below) that I want to convert using the Recording Converter.
I have a problem with the sound: after a minute or so the sound is lost from the converted .wmv file.
When I play back the original, the sound is present all of the time.
When I look at the original files in the directory of the recording I see that the original video file is in one part, the original sound files are split into smaller files.
What can I do about that?

    Hello,
Can you try recording the meeting on another computer with Windows integrated codecs installed and see if the issue persists.
    Thanks,
    Simon

  • There is no sound in converted for iPod movies

The problem is, and so I can't hear any sound after converting from any movie format to the iPod format using iTunes. Moreover, the new file has a .m4v type, and, as I understand, this type can't carry any sound(correct me if I'm wrong) like the simple .m4a and the combined mp4. Just want to know the decision

Try using MPEG Streamclip to convert the videos; more information on this issue is available in this article.

  • Best .dvd converter for 2015 formats

Need to converter family movies with .dvd extension to currently used formats.

If you have an Apple computer, you can get a software called "Video Converter Ultimate" from the Apps store. It works well. It is available for both Windows and Mac. It is a free download.

  • Is there a converter for Audiobook format (.m4b)?

I'm a newbie to forum and to Ipod.
I found the answer to putting my videos on the IPOD 60GB Video with the Videora Converter, thanks to the readers on this discussion board. Thank you.
I am also sorry to learn that Apple has a unique file format for Audiobooks. I can download Audiobooks from our local library for free, but they not in Apple's format (.m4b) or Audible.com's website format (.aa)
Does anyone know if I can find a converter to convert the audiobook files like I learned to convert my video files to the specific requirements to play on the Ipod?
    Thanks in advance.....

I've had very good results following the instructions here. It seems to me that they should work equally well for Windows as for Macs. The instructions look more complicated than they are, and this solution is free. HTH.

  • No sound after converting to ipod format with quicktime

quicktime plays the unconverted file with sound just fine. after converting the video is fine but no sound. any help?

QT will not export sound from mpeg-1 or mpeg-2 files. Check you video before converting to see what the format really is. Open the video in the Player and use MovieInfo in the Window menu to check the format.
This freeware may help if they are mpeg files:

    Hi ,
Im using the Vertical fomat file for loading source data into forge process, the below is the sample record of it.

But when i run the baseline update entire file is considered as single record, though I specified the Row , Column and Record delimiters as \n, ^, eor respectively. Enabled required data and filter empty properties check boxes
Any one has clue ? why is it behaving like this. I have a manipulator component after the record adapter in my pipeline, that will add an additional colum with constant value? is it causing the poblem?
    Configurations are as below.

  • ForA1354477: problem with realtek sound driver download for windows 7

I recently did a clean install of windows 7 enterprise and I lost the option on the sound recording page for stereo mix.  I found a driver update on the toshiba website for my machines realtek sound driver for windows 7 so I tried it and it worked (sort of).  Now I have the stereo mix option set as default but I also cannot make any changes in the sound recording page (the tabs are nor functioning and my cursor spins it's little processing circle when it is over the page).  I can't even close the page without using the option from the task bar and sometimes that fails so I have to use the task manager to close the page.  Anyone else have this problem?

These two drivers should work for your Windows 7. Although they carry the same version and date, they are different files with different sizes. Try them both.

  • What is the URL for Windows Sound Recorder and is I compatible with podcast

I have recorded a podcast on Sound Recorder on Windows XP and i want to know how i can find the URL and if it is Podcast compatible. It is a wave audio file. Can you guys please, please help me!!!????
    W4065 Emachines   Windows XP

A recording you made in Windows Sound Recorder, until you do something else with it, is NOT on the Internet and has no URL at all.
.Wav files are not suitable for direct use as podcast episodes as they tend to be uncompressed which makes them shockingly huge to download. You'll want to convert it to mp3 format to make it sensible for sharing.
You'll then need to either upload it to a managed podcasting service, or post it on your own blog, or any of the other normal ways of doing the "podcasting" step of podcasting. There's plenty of howtos and walkthroughs on various ways of doing this.

  • How can I record an audio sound and convert it to a ringtone?

How can I record an audio sound and convert it to a ringtone?

Record your voice using iPhone (for ringtone only 35 secs or under are valid), sync iPhone with iTunes.
In iTunes the recorded voice is listed under Music as some_numbers.m4a.
Right click on the item and choose Create AAC version.
Drag the converted voice onto the desktop.
Delete the voice copy in iTunes. (important step)
On desktop, rename the some_number.m4a to something_more_intelligent.m4r
Drag it back to iTunes and you will find it under Tones.
Now select it (for sync) and connect your iPhone, do a sync.
If everything works out, it will be in Settings > Sounds > Ringtone.
Now choose a contact you want to assign this ringtone, tap Edit and add the ringtone.
    Hope this helps.

  • Converting record albums to digital format and importing to iTunes

I'm trying to convert record albums to digital format using a USB turntable and import the tracks to iTunes.  I have upgraded to the latest versions of software for the turntable and iTunes (10.5), but keep getting a message "unable to export to iTunes."  When iTunes opens up, it indicates that it is converting a temp file (e.g., temp6) rather than the individual tracks.
Confession:  I did something really dumb that may well have contributed to my problem.  The first time I started using the turntable, I recorded the album side; typed in the artist, album, and names of individual tracks; and clicked on the button to begin the export to iTunes.  When the iTunes windows opened up, things seemed to be working well.  I could see the individual tracks listed as they were being converted.  Then, a popup screen came up asking if I wanted to upgrade to the latest version of iTunes (I didn't have the 10.5 version at the time).  I temporarily lost control of my body (and mind) and clicked on yes.  This halted the conversion in process and I have never been able to get things working again, despite uninstalling and then reinstalling both the turntable software and iTunes software (including iTunes, Quicktime, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour, and Apple Application Support).
I would really appreciate some help with this!

Do not use the "export to..." feature.  Let the conversion program create a file in an iTunes compatible format (such as WAV, AAC, or MP3) and then add that file to iTunes.

  • No sound when convert video for iPod Touch

I have videos that I recorded with my digital camera and when I "convert for iPod" the resulting video has no sound in iTunes or when I put it on my iPod.
Any ideas to what is wrong?

The file you are converting is muxed(audio and video are one track).
Quicktime is used by iTunes to do the conversions and quicktime does not like muxed files-so you get only video. Another possibility is that the audio is a weird codec that quicktime does not recognize.
Use a different transcoder-such as mpeg streamclip recommended above. I use it, it works very well. It has iPod presets.
