Sound Remover - use external input source?

I'm wondering if Sound Remover can use an input sound file to analyze and then remove sound from the main file?
I have file A (vocal mic with drum bleed) and file B (drums). I'd like to remove or minimize the drums in the vocal mic. Seems ideal to use the drum mix file to analyze and remove drums from the vocal mic.
I'll try the old school time-align, eq match, inverse mix method and see what I get, but it would be so cool if there was some Audition magic to help.

If the two files are of the same sample rate and channel count, you can capture the sound model from one file and apply the effect to the other. You can also save the profile selection to disk and load it from within the Sound Remover effect.

I am experiencing some weird behavior while using External Subtitles, e.g. Playing an AVI file with PS3MediaServer works fine but playing the very same AVI file with external subtitles gives me the video with subtitles and no sound.
My Server configuration is as follows :

Having the same problem. I'm watching all of my movies without subs now, because transcoding kills the 5.1 audio (no problems with 2 channel audio). A workaround is posted in the comments of the pms-svn package.
I will post the URL to this thread to another thread with probably the same problem (mplayer/x264). I have not yet seen a real solution to this, and I'm not really familiar with the bugzilla's from both projects.

Another workaround might be to trick pms into using ffmpeg or vlc rather than mencoder. I'm also streaming to a ps3 - I didn't try it, but it could be as easy as temporarily changing settings inside the profile for a ps3-client.

UCCX 10 CUIC Custom Report (using external data source)

Hi.
We have a customer where we are storing information in an external data source. We would like to built a report and import that report into their UCCX CUIC System in order for the customer to have the new report along side with the UCCX built-in reports. We need to add the external data source to CUIC but I'm not sure if the strip CUIC version of UCCX can allow that. Is that possible?
I know that with CUIC Premium we can add third party data sources into the CUIC. The Premium CUIC NFR allows that and we can create the report but for it to work in UCCX we need to add the external data source to CUIC.
What are my options? If any?

Hi Jose,
You can basically build custom reports on a standalone CUIC server and import them to the CUIC on UCCX.
But I am not sure if this datasource is continuously polling information from the DB and giving it to the report and if this is possible.

Starting and stopping timer using external inputs interfaced with labview

hello,
I have trouble finding how to start and stop the timer using external voltage or current pulse. we are interfacing a circuit to labview. so for that we need to count the time it takes between the two external voltages. We have to keep on comparing the voltages to some reference voltage. And when the external voltage crosses the reference voltage we have to start the timer and again we have to stop the timer using tha same logic. We need it for time calculation between the triggers.

No sound when using HDMI input to TV

I connect Mac Book to HDMI input on TV with a mini DVI to DVI cable, to DVI to HDMI cable. Good picture through iDVD but no sound.

Yeah. It kind of *****! But it is true, HDMI does not transmit sound, just video. Which it does well I must say.
What I did is I have surround sound and I plugged a cord that has male connectors on both sides and I plugged it into my amp on one side and my mcbook on the other, so now I can get sound onto my surround sound and also get the video images on my HDTV. =) If you have a surround sound system with an amp, I would recomend doing this. Its easiest.

How to Transform using multiple input sources to one target

Hello - I'm trying to figure out a way in which I can map retrieved values from more than one table (defined via db adapter links) into a single target flat file (defined via file adapter). I can establish a 1-1 transformation process fine, but when I define a second transformation activity for another table I get an error when I try to run the BPEL process. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can try next? Thanks for helping out the rookie!
P.S. I'm running SOA Suite 10.1.3.1 with Jdeveloper 10.1.3.1 and connecting to an MS-SQL Server database

you are getting several variables with values from the db adapters.
you want to put these variables to the variable, which is the input for the file adapter (this procedure is called the assignment).
you want to do this assignment with transformations.
you have to ways to solve that:
use the assign, which is much less comfortable.
or
ask for a feature enhancement via metalink that a transformation support more than one input...

HP dv6 - no sound when using external mic

Hi everyone
when plugging in an external device to the external mic jack, I get no sound from the speakers/ or headphones as I am recording!
It does still record though.
How can I get sound through my speakers as I am recording?
Also to get it to record in stereo, I have to plug into the external mic jack only halfway. if I plug in all the way I get only mono output!
Any suggestions on these issues?

Hi everyone,
I'm an EE engineer student and just have an idea for my final project, in which i will build a device (maybe a smart gloves) that i can track the motion of my fingers or my arm. This device can know when i pinch my fingers or wave my hand, etc...
So the question is, how can i build a mac app that can take the input through COM port (output of my device) and use it as commands from my trackpad (hand gestures) or from my keypad (e.g. CMD key and '+' for zoom in).
And.. the bad thing is I know nothing about MAC OS developing. I sincerely hope someone can show me an easy and specific way so I can build this app.

To configure the Windows Time Service on first forest root domain controller
Log on to the domain controller.
Type the following command to display the time difference between the local computer and a target computer, and then press ENTER:
w32tm /stripchart /computer:target/samples:1/dataonly
Where target specifies the DNS name or IP address of the NTP server that you are comparing the local computer's time against, such as time.windows.com and 1 specifies the number of time samples that will be returned from the target computer. In this example, only one sample will be returned to test basic NTP communication.
Open UDP port 123 for outgoing traffic if needed.
Open UDP port 123 (or a different port you have selected) for incoming NTP traffic.
Type the following command to configure the PDC emulator and then press ENTER:
w32tm /config /manualpeerlist:peers /syncfromflags:manual /reliable:yes /update
Peers specifies the list of DNS names and/or IP addresses of the NTP time source that the PDC emulator synchronizes from. For example, you can specify time.windows.com. When specifying multiple peers, use a space as the delimiter and enclose them in quotation marks.

Input source disappears after restart or log out. How to fix it?

I use two input sources: U.S. and Russian-PC. But recently the Russian-PC started to disappear everytime I restart the iMac or just log out and log in back. Instead of Russian-PC there is Russian which is inconvinient to use. So I always have to open language and text preferences unchek Russian, check Russian-PC.
I have tried to change language preferences on root user but it did not help.
Does somebody know how to fix it?

Well Bababooey if you're comparing yourself to a Apple Genius Bar then you should already know my answer, your snarky remark get a snarky reply. Why would I go to a salesperson to fix my computer problem when I can go directly go to the source itself. I used to sell Apple computers over 8 years ago and was apple certified before the Genius bar existed. If I am to go about fixing an issue I can't fix on my own I will go to the source itself meaning Apple's programmers and developers - being UI UX Developer myself I know they should have QA'd all platforms and troubleshooted any arising issues.
This was also the first time in the 20 years I've been using a Mac that I even attempted to go on this forum which i thought would put me in connection with a certified Apple representative. This turned out to be a complete waste of time just being a public forum with no Apple employee involved. I was hoping to find a quick fix but in turn I was only frustrated with stupid responses such as yours that were in no way an answer to my original question.
BTW I fixed the issue on my own and without your help or Apples help. I'm glad if all forums point here regarding this issue because I now have the answer. The answer I was looking for from someone earlier was as simple as this {Download Maverick and reinstall the platform - it will take an hour to do but afterward 10.9.2 was installed and my computer is now able to shutdown and restart without having to do a hard boot.} No more software update bar at top and no problems with my drive which I told both you and Grant - I know my computer better than you and I've probably been using them longer than you.
So again Babowa you were so wrong...... and I am right.
Again anyone having the same problem, I suggest reinstalling Maverick and you'll be suprised 10.9.2 will work fine.

Web Analyzer - ability to access external data sources?

Documentation on help.sap.com for the 2004s Web Analyzer notes it can render queries, query views, infoproviders, and <b>external data sources</b> for ad-hoc analysis in the standardized reporting template.
Can anyone clarify exactly what constitutes external data? To my knowledge, I didn't think it was possible to report on something outside of the BI instance (let's say an Oracle table on another server, for example).

in the Web Analyzer you can use external OLAP data sources(ODBO or XMLA) . Relational data sources are not supported in NW2004s.
You can set this up in the portal system landscape.

Depending on the data source different capabilities are supported, so that some options are only available when you are using the BI OLAP Processor and won't be supported when using external data sources.

BAM external data source

We have around 400k records on which we want to build reports and in our initial approach we are planning to store the data in external tables and use external data source. For POC we created external tables and data source with around 55k records and some basic reports which used sum to group the data. For some reason this report won't load and we don't see any exceptions in the logs. In database session we can see the query it's executing and when we run the same query from sql plus, it returns data within less than 1sec. So we are unsure what the issue could be.
We are looking for some pointers on what should we look for and how we can resolve this issue. Also if there is any way to specify jdbc connection pool properties.

BAM is not for reporting purpose. It is ONLY for dashboard purpose. BAM itself has few over heads. So the response is not only dependent on query execution.
Try creating only updating list with no conditions. Check if it is working. then go for complex reports with conditions.

The input source option is set to "Use one input source in all documents" and some common shortcut becomes the shortcut to change the input source. I don't see any specific action that causes this -- I'll just wonder why my app isn't hiding, look up, and see the layout changing.
I'll even go far out of my way to change the keyboard shortcut (in the keyboard area) to something really convoluted like command-option-shift-D and then turn the "select previous input source" command off.
