Sound server cannot work in a zone
Sound server in Global zone works fine, however I tried to enable it in a zone, it just simply didn't work.
1. Execute "gnome-sound-properties" in a term.
2. On the general tab, select "Enable sound server startup", "Sound for events"
3. On the "Sound Events" tab, test event's sound by clicking "Play" button, but without sound.
4. After rebooting, the problem was still here.
Please help.

My system information.

You are allowed to change an OEM-licensed product to KMS client if Software Assurance (SA) is purchased within 90 days after purchasing the OEM product. It only applies to Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, though.

DNS server cannot be created because the authoritative parent zone
I am working in 2008r2sp1. I tried adding DNS Server and DHCP Roles first. Then under DNS Forward Lookup Zones I added "mysite.com" as a New Zone.
Also I searched my computer for a "NTDS" folder and the only on I found was "C:\Windows\inf\NTDS".
A delegation for this DNS server cannot be created because the authoritative parent zone cannot be found or it does not run Windows DNS server. If you are integrating with an existing DNS infrastructure, you should manually create a delegation to this DNS server in the parent zone to ensure reliable name resolution from outside the domain "artisdextri.com". Otherwise, no action is required.
The folder C:\Windows\inf\NTDS> is not valid. Specify a valid path, including drive letter. For example: C:\NTDS.

They are either locked to a carrier who may at some stage offer unlocking
or sold direct to a user by Apple (from their own Stores or online .)

Bind 9 DNS Server chroot cannot work on Solaris 10 u6 and u7
My Old verion "Solaris 10 x86 Generic_Patch_118844-30" can be run "Bind 9 DNS Server" in chroot mode.
And this is no any problem.
I have been try to use "Bind 9 DNS Server" in Solairs 10 x86 u6 or u7.
The result is not any problem.
But when I turn it run in the chroot mode. the "Bind 9 DNS Server" cannot run.
I have been manuelly run the named:-
/usr/sbin/named -c /etc/named.conf -t /chroot/dns -u named -f -g

Look like the bind 9 runing in the chroot mode after that cannot find /dev/poll
Even I use Bind 9 version 9.6.0, the result is same.
So, I don't sure the problem are the Bind 9 or Solaris 10 u6/u7
I try to continous install New verion Bind 9 in my old version Solaris 10.
THE Result is NO ANY PROBLEM in old version Solaris 10.

It cannot work for my Windows Server 2008 SP system.
I executed it with option "/verbose:<logfile>" but the log file was hard for me to analyze and no information related to the log file analysis in Google :(

After updating my iPhone 4s to iOS 6.1, Verification Failed: "An SSL error has occurred and a secure connection to the server cannot be made." My wifi connection works; the icon is present at the top left. But Internet apps won't connect, be it Safari, App Store or Facebook & instagram. Push notifications also work so posts from Facebook and Instagram still pop-up. Does any one have any ideas? Thanks.

for those who know a little about jack low latency audio sound server, I have a big problem : it works like crap.
I get a ton of xrun errors running the jack server, even if I do nothing. The sound is sometimes saturated and it's quite impossible to play a sound file fluently.
I launch jack via qjackctl with some quite simple parameters. Been trying to change values but nothing changes.
I just don't understand : the sound card is doing well for a common use with alsa (playing mp3 & video files). I have disabled the kde sound system to save performance.
Note that I use jack successfully with an other computer (a desktop one) with a built in simple sound card and it works great out of the box.
Here with the G1, which is way much powerful, jack is just unusable.

I cannot connect to a server at work
I cannot connect to a specific server at work. Ex: 192.168.1.2 . it tells me that it all the data on the server cannot be opened error code-36
192.168.1.2 is a so-called private IP address in a private address block, and there are many thousands of hosts on the Internet with that particular IP address.
You'll need the public IP address associated with your work network, and quite probably also the access credentials and related details necessary to connect into the target server via a VPN.
If you do use a VPN, you'll need to have your local network in a different subnet than 192.168.1.0/24 — that's an address outside of the 192.168.1.0 to 192.168.1.255 address range — or the VPN connection won't work correctly.
Check with whomever is running the work network for details on how to connect into the network. If that's you, we'll need to know if you're using OS X Server (this forum) or some other operating system, as well as some general details of the firewall involved, and you'll need to check the network configuration or with the ISP to determine the IP address associated with your work network. I'd also recommend getting the office network out of the 192.168.1.0/24 subnet, as that's just going to cause problems for folks connecting via VPN. -

OP should first go through the wiki page of ALSA to ensure that his ALSA setup is working correctly. There aren't many sound setups that do not work under ALSA. If OP is relying on another sound setup then he should follow the appropriate wiki and tell us so.
@otto88: It would also help if you would try to explain what your intentions were. I'm assuming you merely want to have sound working and not configure some fancy setup. In that case you should just stick to a basic setup and follow the wiki step by step (don't skip any line and if you don't understand something, you figure that out or you ask people, don't just ignore it).
For instance I don't even have those /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and /etc/modprobe.d/snd-hda-intel.conf even though I have 2 sound devices, while you seem to only have 1 sound device

So your /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf in that case is totally unnecessary, let alone that you don't even have the snd_mia module loaded so why do you even configure alsa to load it at index 1. You aren't supposed to simply copy and paste the configurations from the wiki. Those configurations are merely there to give you an idea on how to make your own configuration.
When you have ensured that your sound is been set up correctly then you can start with the most basic mplayer configuration. You keep the /etc/mplayer/example.cong configuration file totally commented out (like you have atm) and your ~/.mplayer/config should only contain

Cannot save configuration for zone files
I'm migrating from 10.3 to 10.4.9. The 10.4.9 system is on a new hard drive so it is a fresh install. I have no problem setting up the BIND config manually from the command line but I like to use Server Admin to start and stop the server. When I noticed I was having problems resolving my servers domain/subdomains, I used Server Admin to take a look at what was going on.
The problem I seem to be encountering is that Server Admin shows that the zones exist but it does not display any of the zone data in the window to the right of the zone list. I did a quick check on the zone files and found them to be configured correctly. When I tried to edit and then save the configuration using the Server Admin GUI I receive an error telling me that the zone had no name and that the configuration could not be saved.
Just to test things out a little bit, I dragged the DNS configuration file from the 10.3 config from the Server Admin Applition, rebooted the system back into 10.4, and dropped that configuration back onto the application window. After this process I can see the zone data in the right hand window but when I click the save button I receive the same error.
My only reference for 10.4 is the Apple Training Series: Mac OS X Server Essentials which describes the Server Admin GUI for the DNS functions and the associated files in a manner that I am familiar with but which are significantly different then what is actually appearing in the Server Admin application for 10.4.9.
Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong?

XServe G4 Mac OS X (10.4.8)Unfortunately, there are a number of flaws with the Server Admin DNS tool that absolutely require you to modify the files manual. For instance, you cannot properly set up MX records is the zone you are working on is NOT responsible for the mail server. In other words, you can't set up MX records. Also, the name server text fields are bugged in a way that makes it extremely difficult to add more then one name server. The tool is useless until these problems are fixed.
Basically, as you said, I used the dns tool to set up the files, then edited them manually in order to get them into a functional state. I just have to make sure that I don't ever use the tool to edit the configuration as it will blow away any changes that were made manually.
FYI The Server Admin web tool for Apache is also just as annoying, deleting data that has been added manually.
