Sound still too loud

Over a year ago the sound in the flash player was way too loud on 100%.
Now it's still too loud. On 50% volume it seems to be normal.
But this only appears, when the system volume isn't set to 100% (when I'm using headphones without a volume control).

A few questions:
What version of Flash Player are you using?  (Right click on Flash content.  It will be displayed at the bottom of the context menu)
What browser and version are you using?
What operating system and version are you using?
What sound card and driver version are you using?
Can you give me a link to a site that reproduces the problem, or is it all Flash content that you encounter?
Do you see the same volume problem on both HTML5 and Flash videos, like in the examples below?

The sound is max and can't be adjusted!
Good would be also to adjust music volume on phone separately from the skype volume.

  • Background sound is too loud

my macbook pro, early 20011, the background sound is too loud with or without headphones, i cannot hear the speech well. any ideas?

I also found the mic input poor.  End result was to disable onboard and put my Xonar DGX back in.  Also Xonar volume @ 50% seems to bee the same as the Realtek 100% volume.
I'll be perfectly honest with you.....
On both my laptop (MSI GT70) and my desktop (MSI Z97 SLI) I have an Asus Xonar based sound card....it's just flat out better.
Personally, I don't care for the included software with the on-board sound solutions (software based creative crap is...crap...), and the sound that it makes for digital connections (COAX/optical) really isn't as good.
But again, that's just my opinion. I believe that the on-board sound should work though, and it might actually be a problem with the board. I would say at the very least, contact MSI and maybe consider an RMA to see if you can get it resolved, just so you have a fully working board to start with.

  • Lowest volume still too loud

I frequently listen to my iPod nano while doing other things. However, the lowest volume setting is still too loud for background music. Can that setting be changed?
    iPod Nano   Windows XP

Just to clarify...is it just the background that is too loud, or is it the whole volume output. I mean, is the background taking over the song, or is the volume simply not going low enough?
If the background is taking over the song, check the Equalizer in the Settings. Turn it to the Off setting. If that doesn't work, Restore the iPod.
Actually, for both problems try a Restore (after the EQ thing).
I hope this helps and post back!

  • When I burn a slideshow from wondershare fantashow the music is to loud even when I play it on the tv and turn the tv down the music burned on the dvd is still too loud and has a vibrating sound like too much volume.

Hello does anybody know about wondershare fantashow for mac? when I burn a slide show to a dvd the music is too loud. then when i play it on my tv and turn my tv volume down the music on the dvd is still vibrating too loud. How do I adjust that in fatashow before I burn it to dvd? thank you

Hadn't heard of it before today!
There are many ways to produce slide shows using iPhoto, iMovie or iDVD and some limit the number of photos you can use (iDVD has a 99 chapter (slide) limitation).
If what you want is what I want, namely to be able to use high resolution photos (even 300 dpi tiff files), to pan and zoom individual photos, use a variety of transitions, to add and edit music or commentary, place text exactly where you want it, and to end up with a DVD that looks good on both your Mac and a TV - in other words end up with and end result that does not look like an old fashioned slide show from a projector - you may be interested in how I do it. You don't have to do it my way, but the following may be food for thought!
Firstly you need proper software to assemble the photos, decide on the duration of each, the transitions you want to use, and how to pan and zoom individual photos where required, and add proper titles. For this I use Photo to Movie. You can read about what it can do on their website:
    http://www.lqgraphics.com/software/phototomovie.php
(Other users here use the alternative FotoMagico:  http://www.boinx.com/fotomagico/homevspro/ which you may prefer - I have no experience with it.)
Neither of these are freeware, but are worth the investment if you are going to do a lot of slide shows. Read about them in detail, then decide which one you feel is best suited to your needs.
Once you have timed and arranged and manipulated the photos to your liking in Photo to Movie, it exports the file to iMovie  as a DV stream. You can add music in Photo to Movie, but I prefer doing this in iMovie where it is easier to edit. You can now further edit the slide show in iMovie just as you would a movie, including adding other video clips, then send it to iDVD 7, or Toast,  for burning.
You will be pleasantly surprised at how professional the results can be!
To simply create a slide show in iDVD 7 onwards from images in iPhoto or stored in other places on your hard disk or a connected server, look here:

  • Sound plays too loud

Sounds embedded in flash movies play too load. The Windows
gain settings in Master Volume and Wave have to be adjusted all the
way down and even then some sounds are distorted (as if they are
being played too loud) even though the sound is low volume.
It is as if a gain setting is getting set too high by
    default.
This happens on some XP SP2 computers but not other XP SP2
    computers.
Might be sound card related. It happens on nVidia nForce2
    MCP-T (latest version of driver).
I tried embedding wav instead of mp3. I get the same effect
but at least the wav sound doesn't distort so badly that it can't
be fixed by turning down the master volume.
Please let me know if I need to post more information about
    the problem.

You can reduce the "Wave" Volume to half or below to leave the master volume the same level, that will solve the Volume problem.
    http://www.cisco.com/image/gif/paws/23502/VMOAudioSettings-1.gif
For the scroll sensitive: you can also reduce this in the system preferences, but its is still not the same feel like in OSX.
Thats how I kind of solved these issues.

  • Sound Input Too Loud... suggestions, please?

I initially asked about this last Summer, but I'm still having problems, so I thought I'd try again.
I'm trying to transfer some tapes onto CD-R before they're gone, and I'm having trouble with the volume of the inputs.
I'm using a standard RCA out (from the back of the DAT deck) to mini in (on the Apple) - but the input is too loud. Not terribly - but enough to distort the music on loud passages.
I've gone into the sound preferences, and tried adjusting the input volume there, but even with the slider all the way down I'm still hearing sound (which doesn't seem right). I've gone into the midi settings window as well, and the input levels are all the way down there - again, too loud. I've tried using the Griffin iMic USB... same thing.
The ONLY solution I've found is to take the output from the tape recorder and run it into a preamp, then take the output of the preamp and send it to the computer. This works fine, but I'd rather not add this other piece of equipment to the chain if I don't have to. I can go with this solution - but I have a feeling that people out there are plugging tape decks into the Apple all the time without problem, and I'd love to know why my situation is somehow different.

Weird. I just did this-> opened sound prefs, selected input, selected line in, and lowered the levels. It works. Lowest level is silence.
Don't know why you are different. Are you selecting "line in"?

  • Installed 12072 - phone still too loud

Just installed the latest firmware and still have the problem of the volume settings between 6-30 being too loud. In fact there seems little difference between 6 and 30.
I thought this update was supposed to fix this? Or is there another volume bug this was supposed to fix?

Those are just check boxes as far as I can tell.  Ticking or unticking does not seem to influence the volume of the speaker when on calls.  It is just the volume through the external speaker while on calls that is too loud.  All other media is controlled satisfactorily.

  • Commercials Still TOO Loud

On December 13, 2012, the The Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act became fully implemented and television stations and cable providers are required to keep the volume of commercials at a level consistent with programming.  I have not noticed any change in the volume of the commercials over regular programming. I still have to either mute the commercials or lower the volume until the TV program I am watching returns and then I have to turn the volume back up so I can hear the dialogue.
If you still have to turn down the volume when commercials come on, take action. CALM gives stations and providers a bit of leeway in handling complaints. According to the new standards, one phone call or email isn't enough to warrant an investigation, although patterns of them will demand review.  Failure to meet these new modulation standards could result in fines.
The FCC is soliciting viewer auditing during the transition. To report loud commercials, call 888-225-5322 with information such as time and date of the commercial, description of the ad, plus station or network.
Information also can be mailed to the Federal Communications Commission, Consumer & Government Complaints Division, 445 12th Street SW, Washington, DC 20554.
Complain to Verizon and contact the FCC.

  • Help - K8N Neo4 SLI - sound inputs TOO LOUD! (SoundBlaster Live!)

I have two sources for Line In sound; XM Radio and  Leadtek TV Tuner Card.  In both cases, the sound going from the card is so loud it is distorted even at only 1% of volume on the Soublaster Mixer.  This happens whether I plug them into my Line In or Microphone inputs.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can "Tone Down" the signal, so I can turn the sliders up to at least a few percent without it distorting?
Thanks for looking - thanks even more if you respond.

    Hi there,
You probably have activate some enhancements in the mixer like 'Mic Boost' or 'Digital Input' those are found in the right side of the mixer they are tick boxes.
    Untick them...
Sorrryyyy.....the above is for the ALC 850 chip not for the Creative one....so I'm in the dark, but try to uninstall the drivers and install them again maybe it works.
    BTW keep us posted....
    Be well....

  • Power on or startup sound way too loud

When I turn on the computer, the startup chord, or tone, or chime, or whatever one calls that noise, is very loud. It is always loud, regardless of what volume I had been listening to music at shut down. It comes through the internal speakers only, and not the external speakers. It is loud regardless of at what level the tone notification volume is set. It's loud loud loud.
How does one adjust the volume of the start up sound?

You can take control of the startup chime with the Startup Sound preference pane.
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/48992
    Also, do a PRAM reset after installing the pref pane;
    Reset the PRAM
    • (Re)start the computer
    • Immediately press & hold the CommandOption+PR keys
    • Wait for two startup chimes
    • Release the keys and allow the computer to boot.

  • My Volume Limit restriction won't work.. It's still too loud, what am I doing wrong?

As the header says... I've followed what the manual says, but I still can't get the volume to get any lower.. My daughter have played music on it, and it sounds like the speakers are gone soon... So I really want  the volume limit to work, before the entire iPod touch is broken...
Can Anyone please help me ASAP?

    A. The Volume Limit setting lets you change the maximum output of your iPod’s headphone jack. The actual sound pressure level that you experience depends on several factors: the music you’re listening to, how it was recorded and encoded, the type of earbuds or headphones you use, and their placement in your ears.
    Above from:
    here
Note it does not effect the internal speaker

  • Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 Volume is still too loud at 0%

    Hi,
I got the Lifechat LX-3000, and when I move the volume slider down in the volume controls, it gets quieter, but when I get to 0% I still hear sound, and I cannot make it get any quieter than it gets at that point. If I click mute, the sound goes off, but
I want to be able to use the headphones at a lower volume than what it is at 0%. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

    Hi,
Firstly, please test the issue using another headphone.
If that one works fine, based on my research, please download and install the
driver and see how it works.
If issue persists, it is recommended to contact
    Microsoft Hardware Support for help.
    Hope this helps.

  • The sound is too loud!

I don't know whether it is because my volume down button doesn't work. When I press it, there is no green light blinking and the volume does not change at all. It is so loud that even somebody near me can hear clearly what I'm listening to.
Anyone had experience like this and where else besides the volume button can I adjust the volume, for example, the i-Tunes? Thx in advance for the reply!

There are volume adjustments in iTunes that follow to your shuffle [get info on selected song], however, you either have a physical hardware problem, or you inadvertently put the shuffle in "hold" mode. Press and hold "play" for at least three seconds. The shuffle will either toggle on or off of "hold" mode.
    Hope this helps.
