I just noticed that when I talk on skype, my friends can not hear me as clear. I went to sound setting on the mac and noticed that my voice was getting picked up to good regardless of chaning the setting. Has anyone got any idea??

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore. Has any of this been tried?
It is possible that dropping the device has caused the issue.... regardless, it's unlikely Apple would do a warranty exchange since there is obvious user damage.
If basic troubleshooting does not resolve the issue, take it to an Apple store for evaluation... if determined to be a hardware issue and you ask nicely, they may be able to assist you, but they may also only provide the option of an Out of Warranty replacement.

Sounds like your microphone might be busted. Test it by doing a voice memo. If this is the case you should take it to your service provider/carrier/nearest apple store to have it looked at.
Alternatively, try using headphones or a bluetooth headset. These are all steps to make sure it's not the mic that's damaged.

I'm sure you have checked, but make sure your mute button on the keyboard is not on , also check that you haven't touched the space bar during a call as that mutes it.

Recording takes place on a consolidated session, all audio tracks with no latency, which actually happens only it can't be heard.
Monitoring is very inconsistent and in fact doesn't work at all. Any help?

Correction: actually "thru AUX to REC channel" is not effective.
It's just that I can input monitor thru an extra AUX channel independently of the REC channel.
Sending the source to be recordered to aux and audio rec at same time.

hello ...my problem is not that serious..i installed my creative soundblaster card and bought a 5. logitech sound system..and installed the drivers and applications from cd?which was given with the soundcard..i can hear sounds from speakers..but when testing? the sound which describes the speaker "front left" "front right"...i cant hear any sound from center, subwoofer?, rear left and rear right speakers...i made my connections right..and installed drivers correctly.and from the control panel i set speakers to 5. and from creative software so.is it working in full capacity?what i have to do to hear sounds from speakers while testing

i just bought a logitech 5. sounds system myself the other day and purchased a Sound Blaster audigy SE card to go with it. now all the media i play on my PC comes out thru the front 2 speakers, the center RL and RR speakers only work when i run a test program to verify that they are plugged up. i am 00% sure i have everything set up correct, does this sound like the mdeia is set up for 5. or is it my setup?

Added song in QT mov, e-mailed it - family, friends can not hear music...?

Took a 16 second "little" movie off the Digital camera.
I was finally motivated to add some music to the silent clip (camera doesn't record sound), as I had never done it before in QT. Took about 5 minutes to figure out and it made the humble clip so much more fun (music matches the length of the clip).
But as I sent the "mov" file to family and friends via e-mail, many were having trouble w/ the file (just opening it) and those that could open it could not hear the music track.
How do I save, or format the movie file, so people on Macs and/or PC's can hear the soundtrack? As it appears, QT wants to find the exact sound file on THEIR computer --that doesn't cut it?

I spotted that in the original dialogue, and always saved it as that (as by default as by the other option didn't make sense! ;)) So that's not it?
Here's the e-mail response of a friend who's on a mac, which I assumes represents others who are not hearing the file or can't open it either:
"The movie won't play. It is asking for {song title here}.m4a file."

Why is the fan so loud that when i video chat my friends can't hear me?

The fan is so loud and my computer is slowing down it on mas os x snow leopard version 10.6.8

What model MacBook is this? Ihave a 2008 black Macbook that gets extremly loud when using flash sites or viewing videos. The Macbook is on SL.
I have a 2010 MacBook that the fans rarely spin up 100% and is extremely quiet when doing the same things that I do on the black MacBook. This MB is on Lion.
There may be nothing you can do but depending upon which model you have, you can take off the bottom cover and make sure the fans are clean and not blocked by dust.

TS1630 Does anyone else have a problem where you can't hear anything from your headphones when you plug them in and they play from the speakers? I checked the jack and there was nothing in it so I don't know what to do....

I tried to listen to my music from my headphones and when I plugged the headphones into the jack, and pressed play, the music came out through the speakers. I don't know why that happened but I've never been able to get sound through my headphones.

Ok so I am having this problem all over again, except this time plugging in/ unplugging the audio jack appears to be making no difference whatsoever. Is there a way of cleaning the audio jack as previously mentioned?

I have PAP2T and connected to my system XP, i can make a call but i can't hear the other party voice but they can hear my voice without any problem!

sounds to me like a RTP stream problem.
Check your NAT / port forwarding rules, make sure all ports :
5060, 5061, 16384-16482 are forwarded to your PAP2T on the NAT router.

When i make calls people can't hear me but i can hear them and when i switch ti loud speaker they can hear me! can anyone help??
