Sound vs. NetStream: mp3 and m4A - can they both be played the same way?

I have an audio player that works just fine with mp3's.
now my client wants it to accept m4a files also.
I see that they are handled differently, using the netstream class.
But mp3's can't be handled this way.(or can they)
Is there a method that will work for both?
or do I have to program for each, and detect what file type is to be played?
Also, whatis the easiest way to get the equivilent of sound.position for a streaming m4a?

There were previous issues I've had with latency using NS to play MP3. For example my videos would sometimes become slightly desynced, especially over a long duration. This may have been resolved in the latest FPs but I tend to target the lowest version necessary.
The Sound class was designed specifically to use mp3s more efficiently as well as access information NetStream can't. If I were you I'd do a simple file extension detection and use Sound for MP3 and NetStream for M4A separately. The difference between them is a short handful of code that can easily be wrapped by a class with a similar implementation so you can re-use it.

If you get/use WiFi only you can get on the web, get mail,text,and use icloud without a new account with ATT; but when out of Wifi coverage you would need an upgraded (ie extra $ ) data account with your phone (ATT in your case) provider.

Two airport devices wired to netgear router - can they both work on the same network?

I have a Virgin Superhub 2 cable router. I would like to extend the wireless around the house using existing cables and have an Airport Express (v2) upstairs and an AirPort Extreme (v4) downstairs.
Both would be connected individually to the netgear based router. When setting up the second airport device, can I asked it it extend the existing apple network I would have set up or must it be a different one. If it will extend, will it be wireless extend or wired as in both apple devices are wired to the same netgear router.

But when I connect my ipod mini to my i tunes(on the same computer) ...it(only) just updates my mini but after that if i wanna make changes to the playlist on my mini or delete anything...I can't. I do not see where to enter IP addresses in the Open VPN setup. Also, how can I set it up so that I can choose different servers in the same way as I can currently choose them with my VPN app but for PPTP?

I think I have it working on my iPhone 5. But, I do not see how I can control the exit point that I would like for the VPN. Are all the exit points shown in the VPN setting now going to work with Open VPN, or do they remain PPTP? If I am reading correctly, they look like they remain PPTP. If I cannot control the exit point for open VPN, which exit point is the default in the profile you provided me?I note that Open VPN Connect does not work with any of the new 64 bit devices like the iPhone 5S, the iPad Air, and the new iPad MIni. Is there any chance that you guys will come up with an update for your app so that open VPN can be made to work on all iOS devices? That would be nice, particularly if the Open VPN Connect app does not give me a choice of exit points.Thanks,

Just a quick note to tell you that Open VPN has updated their app so that it is compatible with 64 bit ARM devices like the iPhone 5S, the iPad Air, and the iPad Mini Retina.That does not resolve the problem of how to easily choose among the various possibilities for the exit server. We need to find an easy way to choose.

I recommend you try to adjust to 29 and see if you can't make it work for you before you downgrade to a less secure and soon outdated version of Firefox.

Thanks for the swift reply, I have been looking online and a loose plug seems to be somewhat of an issue with many, I hope mine is actually a problem and not what others are experiencing. It's taken me this long to even reach out for the simple fact I HATE being a complainer but this is just horrible.

Mail: do not have the same account loaded onto the two devices.
Photos: go into Settings->Photos & Camera->and turn off photo stream.
everything else, sign out of the Apple ID on the device you dont want to be visible.

The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is ituens purchases. The ipod is not a backup device.
Copy everything from the old computer or your backup copy of your old computer, to the new one.

I have posted this many, many times here. See if this helps you understand how this process works with regard to system sounds and screen rotation lock.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center if you are running iOS 7. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you are running iOS 5 or iOS 6, the system sound control is in the task bar at the bottom. Double tap the home button and swipe all the way to the right in the task bar to get to the speaker icon on the left side. Tap on that and the sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.

I am wanting to purchase an iPad for myself and kids but I am wondering if they need to be setup under a different Apple account or just one. What about my iPhone that is under that account? So how many devices can be linked to an account before it is maxed out?

I'm not sure what the total limit is (or if there is one), but two iPads and one iPhone is no problem - you only need one account and you can have the same apps on all three devices if you want without any issues (I have an iPad, iPhone and iPod without problems). There was a thread a few weeks ago about a newspaper app (though it could have been a magazine), where the issue could only be downloaded to one device, but that is the only time I've heard about that limit.

I currently have one input but need to run two loops. I cannot get the two while loops to run so that they both pick up the same data, they are both picking up alternate samples. How can I get them to both pick up all of the values?

The system I am trying to create calculates a number of values based on an input. I need to make the calculations and display the values for an entire production run and for each hour. The only way I know to do this is to create two while loops, one looking at all the values that are received and one looking only at the values for hour long periods.
Any help would be great.

Why do you think that you have to have two loops to accomplish this task? Why not use one loop and accumulate the same data into two data sets based on the two sets of criteria?
