Soundblast XFI with DTT3

Hi everyone. Well, I'm hoping I can enlist your help here to get me up and going. Here is my scenario:?. Using Windows Vista 32-bit2. I have the standard Soundblaster XFI card that Dell puts in the XPS machines (I believe it is an ExtremeMusic if I had to guess)3. Cambridge Soundworks DTT3500 speaker system4. Using a SoundBlaster Digital I/O Module between the sound card and the speakers with a digital optical audio cable5. Im using the beta vista driver dated 28 Dec6. I have four lights on my speakers lit up:
Fourpoint5. DIN<
Optical<
Line In<
Digital in<
I am getting no sound at all. Can someone throw me some help?
Much appreciated!
Scott

Hmmm, Sorry it didn't work for ya, Have you tried headphones plugged into the port next to Digital DIN, See if you have any sound at all?**bleep** fine speakers these DTT3500 but they sure are a biaaatch to get working, Almost too complicated with all the features, I had a lot of issues in XP also with these, Always had to set them up in?windows sound settings or change speaker modes in order to get sound from ALL speakers in some games. Hopefully Creative will release some updated drivers soon for us Vista users.Cheers,Macca

• XFI with ddts-100 combinat

I just don't clearly know below item:
- In case I use XFI with progamer G-500, do I need DDTS-00 decoder?
Maybe I'm wrong, but I think no need, because XFI will decode DD and DTS for G-500.
If not, why?
- In case I use XFI with Logitech Z-5500, do I need DDTS-00 decoder?
Maybe I'm wrong, but I think no need, because Z-5500 built-in decoderwill decode DD and DTS by itself.
If not, why?
Could you describe in detail for me?
THanks

i have the xfi xtreame music and the g500 get great 5. sound on movies and games.dont need anyting else hope this hel

• SoundBlaster Live with W2

I upgraded my Win 98 system to Win 2000. My 6+ year-old SoundBlaster Li've isn't being recognized correctly.
What patches/drivers do I need to load and how, to get it all working properly?

Dave4Cal,
Here is what you will need to do:
) Go to the support/downloads section of this website and select sound blaster, Li've, Li've Platinum from the 3 box setup. Then select Win2K from the OS box.
2) On the next page there will be application updates along with the Li'veDrvUniPack. Here is what you need to download:
Creative PlayCenter 3</LI>
Sound Blaster Li've! - Creative Recorder (English)</LI>
Creative PlayCenter Download for Creative Sound Blaster Li've!....</LI>
Sound Blaster Li've! Li'veDrvUni-Pack (if you deleted it)</LI>
3) Cleansweep the card out following these directions: http://us.creative.com/support/kb/ar...asp?l=2&sid=72
4) Disable any Antivirus software on your system after the final reboot.
5) Install the card from the CD. Do a minimal install including only the card, playcenter, and the programs that you use. Leave the taskbar (or launcher) out of the install.
6) Reboot and when it comes back up run the Li'veDrvUni-Pack (make sure AV is still disabled throughout the remaining steps).
7) Reboot if needed and then run the Creative Playcenter 3 file, followed by the larger more recent version.
8) Install the Creative Recorder. You should now be setup correctly and can reenable your antivirus.

• Audio Trouble: SoundBlaster Audigy with ABIT AS8 motherboa

Having trouble getting audio to work on my new ABIT AS8 motherboard. No mixer device detected. No audio devices detected.Creative SoundBllaster Audigy Card and Software/drivers are installed.Have uninstalled ABIT's Realtech '97, etc. hardware from system, but still no sound. When uninstalled, message appears saying 3D.dll program from ABIT uGuru audio driver is needed. Have uninstalled and re-installed SoundBlaster Audigy software/drivers, but still no go. Get message saying detects previous sound driver which can interfere with audio function during installation, even when ABIT Realtech '97 audio software/drivers are supposedly uninstalled. No other sound drivers or software is on my system.Seems that Multimedia Audio driver has to be the uGuru, AS8 audio driver!
Want to use my SounBlaster software on my system...Any help will be much appreciated!<!-- / message -->

Thanks for the reply.
I've got everything working after an MS service pack 2 update.
Still have a question mark by multimedia device controller in the device manager, though...
Do I still need to disable the on board sound divice in the system bios?
Will this help out with the multimedia device controller issue?
thanks a bunch!!

• Which SoundBlaster works with Win

Hi there.
At first: Sorry for m bad english .
I got a problem: I want to make some music with my MIDI-Keyboard and my DJ-Set, but i only have an old Computer (400MHz P2, 320MB Ram, Voodoo 5 5500 ;D, but the biggest problem: Win98!).
So here's my question: Which Soundblaster-Card woks with Win98 and doesn't cost more than 30?
greetings from Germany..

also looks like the audigy2 zs should work as well with win98se
I don't think so. There are a lot of problems with EAX when using wdm driver. You have to lower the hardware acceleration for Audigy2 ZS which means no EAX.
I heard that the vxd driver should run better under win98se.

• Soundblaster XFI XtremeGamer PCI Awkward Sound

Hi there,
i?ve got a high pitched noise problem with my Soundblaster. Almost every restart (95%) from my pc I got the same noise its like itching in hell. The windows logon sound (and every other Sound) sounds like 500 rats at the same time its annoying and i cant find the solution.
My System:
ICD E8400?
4096MB MDT DDR-2 800
Gigabyte P35-DQ 6
2 x 8800 GTS 640MB SLI
be Quiet Dark Power 550 W
I installed the drivers from the included Driver CD then after two month I first had these probs with the high pitched noise occured almost after every System restart. Then I deinstalled the Creative Drivers rebooted and installed the new drivers again. After a new reboot everthing was fine but after the next reboot the same problem with the sound. After a while and still the same problem I installed a new OS Windows XP 64 Bit and installed the newest Creative drivers still the same probs when i reboot the system. I am getting crazy with this.
First I am no PC noob so I am aware what i did so far to solve the problem (e.g. switched the PCI- Slots, deactivated Onboard Sound and and and....). This cant be I mean I didnt pay almost 70 ? for nothing I mean though I could use the onboard Sound but I play CSS EPS @ ESL so I need to rely on my hardware 00 percent. Maybe you can help me fix this prob fast or I have to make an RMA ( the Soundblaster is 5 month old now^^).
Sincerly yours,
Trp82

Try swapping PCI slots of your Wireless card. If your sound card is PCIX you can only move it to a x, x4 x8 or x6 slot. The wireless card can be moved to any other PCI slot.

• Soundblaster XFI surround 5.1 usb problem in Mac OS Lion.

It worked perfectly in snow leopard, but in Lion 2 of my right side speakers are not working. Even using the MIDI Utilities software the right side speaker can't detect correctly. What is the solution? I can't enjoy surround songs using my card and speaker

There are many cards build with the Via EnvyHD codec/chip for instance, among which high quality Terratec ones, which have SAP without any HDMI output.
Check the Via site if you don't trust me (and the Terratec one).
SAP does NOT require HDMI. You are talking about apples and oranges here, you don't even know what SAP is. Please, let knowledgeable people post instead of trying to sound smart when you know nothing.
EDIT: Oh, and not to mention... even if those are "motherboard codecs", as you say... they are still SAP certified by Cyberlink and can output full HD sound without downsampling, and they do NOT require an HDMI output. So now maybe you will let people who know what they are talking about post instead of posting your ignorant nonsense.
Haha, he gets mad when he gets schooled.
Don't get angry at me, it's not my fault if you don't know the difference between onboard audio and a sound card.
It's PAP (protected audio path), not SAP. SAP is secondary audio programming, something entirely different.
PAP doesn't require HDMI, but I've yet to see a sound card that supports PAP but doesn't feature an HDMI output (so my point about needing a sound card with HDMI still stands). If you had read my earlier edit of post #2 you would see that I've already addressed the motherboard/HDMI issue.
List these sound cards you speak of, I still don't see any specific models listed.

• SoundBlaster XFi Titanium Fatal1ty Popping Sounds

Okay...obviously this isn't a new problem... I've seen tons of complaints about it. Anyhow, I've started getting popping sounds randomly, through analog and digital. Is there ANY fix for this? I was thinking it might be my wireless card (which is three slots down from the sound card, and has an external?antennae. Any ideas? I never got this on my XtremeMusic. I have:
Intel Core 2 Duo e8400
Geforce GTX 285
DFI Lanparty DK P35
Wireless N PCI Adaptor
Xfi Titanium Fatalty PCIe
3 Hard dri've/bluray dri've, yadayada yada...
Latest Creative driver
Windows 7 64
4GB DDR2 RAM

Try swapping PCI slots of your Wireless card. If your sound card is PCIX you can only move it to a x, x4 x8 or x6 slot. The wireless card can be moved to any other PCI slot.

• Soundblaster xfi audio-no entertainment mo

Hello i just bought the Soundblaster x-fi extreme audio and installed it.it works properly (so does the software) but i cannot find the Creative Console Launcher. There is no possibility to acess it (like it is said in the manual) over the start menu as the entry "Creative Console Launcher" is missing.
I also can not find the .exe in the install folder.
Is my card deli'vered without that mode or could there have been ocurred errors in the installation (which runs without error notifications)?
Or is it the fact that I have no Service Packs installed?
Thanks for your help

i mean Creative shouldn't just repackaged the old AudigySE under X-FI series just because it redesign the software/driver used...well, they can named it as 'AudigyVista' if they want to let people know it's support under Vista....just named it as X-Fi XtremeAudio' is just a big misleading, can considered as cheating also....and the introduce of XtremeAudio also expose the ugly truth that the so called 'X-FI =Xtreme Fidelity' function such as Csytalizer is just the cheap effect emulated by the software and not the function that processed by the chip at all...

• New version of soundblaster xfi xtrememu

comes with heatsink and additional power supply. This addition power supply cause temperature to raise up. what are improvements, compare this new version to the older version?
thanks

How is it stupid? Who mentioned overclocking? Anyone with a clue knows that if you pump more volts through silicon it can clock higher. This is the same for chips that come off the line that may be unstable at creatives reference 400mhz, but add more voltage and away they work at 400mhz. Tell me how thats stupid? Obviously you know nothing about silicon, transistor junction leakage, nor electronics.
And please tell me how higher thermal has anything to do with chip yield? The originals never got hot at all so how could that be it's
Nobody in the public will really know unless they pop the sinks off and compare numbers and measure the input core voltages on a sinked and unsinked card.Message Edited by spikestabber on 09-03-2006 05:8 AM

• Soundblaster live, with live drive inst

Can anyone tell me where to find updated drivers for the sb li've platinum for win xp.
I cant get this card or li've dri've to work even with the install disk that came with the dri've.

in the update (or autoupdate by IE) section of this site afcourse.
http://www.creative.com/support/downloads/ (select region + hardware)
p.s. weird that it won't install a fresh install cd..
Maybe hardware conflict with pci-sharing(try to put soundcard in free not shared pci-slot.
Worst case scenario(but works 00&#37; mostly)=reinstall windows totally with all the hardware(that you want) inside/installed.Message Edited by www_96KHz_tk on -6-2005 08:40 AM

• No soundblaster midi with x-fi extreme audio pc

I know this version of x-fi isnt based on the same chipset, all i need to know is does it support using the sound fonts and sf bank manager? The software is on the cd but i get no choice to install it so all i get is the generic midi sound from windows. I'm using vista 64.

Yeah, you probably have been ripped off. I trust that in your forum search you stumbled upon this one: . If not, read it, it explains everything.
The Xtreme Audio is the only "fake" X-Fi in the series, and I don't know why someone would seriously consider buying it (I was considering it too once, but then I saw that forum, and saw that an Audigy 4/Audigy 2 was much better specified, for almost no difference in price).
Is it a true X-Fi? Surely not.
Is it a relabelled Audigy 2 SE/Value? None knows for sure, however there is indirect evidence like the physical similarity, and the similarity of the drivers.
I would like to know what's under that "X-Fi" sticker...if you weren't returning it I'd ask you to take a look :-)
There is a , but it's hard to understand what that chip is...

I only hear crackling and plops at higher volume.
System is: Asus Striker 2 Extreme Nforce790i ultra, intel q9450 core 2 quad, 4gigs dualchannel ram
Any advise? No setting in the console solves the problem.. Everything connected as recommended.

I seem to remember many having NForce and Creative issues.
I did not however.
