SoundBlaster 5.1 Digital doesn´t work READRET.EXE can not be fou
Hey everybody,
I tryed to install my SoundBlaster 5. Digital on my 2nd system to connect the PC with my amplifier, but it doesn?t work. When I restart after the installation I get an error message in WinXP. The file: READRET.exe was not found on your system...
I am not able to open SurMixer and some other applications. Also I?ve no sound.
On my first PC I was using the card for around 2 years without great problems.
The mainboard of the 2nd PC (Elitegroup K7S6A (SiS745)) is really old, but there is no difference between PCI-Slots.
Please help me!

I would suggest looking into a Thunderbolt to HDMI connector. In this case, you may be able to use the TV as an external monitor. For this option, please confirm through additional research. I have not tested it personally.
You can also use an Apple TV, which connects with HDMI. In this case, you can use Airplay Mirroring. Not all Macs support Airplay Mirroring, so you need to check first. I have a Mid-2011 27" iMac, and it supports Airplay Mirroring. I don't use it often because my TV is in another room, but I just tried it and it worked. I had to change my Apple ID and password in itunes. Now my icloud doesn't work and I can't update my apps on my iPhone. I have looked at suggestions on the community pages and apple suggestions but none of them are relevant to iOS 8.1.2
icloud just keeps bringing up my old email address & asking for my old password which doesn't exist anymore and when I try to sign out of icloud it wants my old password, when I tried to change my primary email back to the old one it wants me to verify it through an email address that doesn't exist. I understand that you updated your Apple Id and password but now you are being prompted for the old information in iCloud. You are on the right track by changing the Apple ID back to the previous email address temporarily so that you can sign out. You should not need to verify the email address. After you edit the Apple ID back to the old email address and then sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, edit the Apple ID back to the address you would currently like to use. There is no need to change the password again, only the email address, unless you prefer to update the password again.

Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Sign Out, then tap Sign Out to confirm. If you're using iOS 7 or earlier, tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap Keep on My [Device] or Delete from My [Device]. In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.

I'm not able to copy and paste files from my mac to hard disk and usb. I have tried dragging the items I want to copy to those devices but it won't work. I also have tried copying and pasting those files onto those devices too but that doesn't work too. Can any one help?

Thanks for you suggestion but it didn't work - are there other ways for solving this problem? Or is it because my files that I want to copy and paste onto my hard disk etc are too big? (However there is space on my hard disk and it works on a PC) -

i need to use an hp 6215 printer with my mac book pro. the driver installation disk doesn't work. where can i get a driver that will work?
With the Lion it is essentially unnecessary to resort to external driver disks. What's more, most of those disks are incompatible with the OS and should not be used. The system already carries a wide variety of printer description files (aka PPDs, which is what modern printing systems use as "drivers") for a lot of brands. And there was an HP printer update just two days ago.
Just checked in mine and did indeed find that the HP OfficeJet 6200 Series, with or without Fax, is covered with the latest update.
So just go thru the motions of creating a proper printer instance:
Make sure the Mac "sees" the printer on the network.
System Preferences / Print & Scan
Click on the + button on the left column
Select the appropriate type of printer, will use IP for the rest of this
Select HP Jetdirect - Socket, default for HP network printers
Type the IP address or look it up
Name the printer for easy identification on the print dialog
Let the Mac identify the printer model or manually choose the driver
Click Add.
Once the instance pops up in the list, can click on Options & Supplies for further config. -

It sounds like you were using your Wi-Fi network from your Airport base station and the connection cut out. You have reset the password on the device but the issue persists. I would try the 3 resets outlined in the following article in order to help resolve the issue. If it persists, is the Wi-Fi connection issue happening on more than one device or computer?

I imported videos from photo into iMovie when I set up iMovie (obvious mistake) and now iMovie doesn't work properly, nor can I move specific videos into a folder where I want them. How do I fix this? I even tried deleting iMovie, bought a new copy and installed it, but the folder "iPhoto Videos" is still there and I can't get new clips loaded to iMovie, especially where I want them. Please help.
The iPhoto Videos do occasionally have problems. I've seen a lot of people write messages to this Discussion group describing similar problems. The only thing that seems to get around this problem is to pull the video clips out of iPhoto then import them directly into iMovie. Once the troubles with iPhoto Videos starts, I haven't yet seen anyone write back with something that they did to fix it.
The most difficult part of doing this is the movies in iPhoto might be a little difficult to track down. But you can create a smart alum that does that for you. Go to iPhoto > File Menu > New Smart Album:
Set the first pulldown menu to keyword, second to contains, then in the last box type Movie with a capital 'M'. Then click OK. This smart album more or less does as search of the whole iPhoto Library and only displays items that match your search tearm of "Movie" exactly. In that smart album then you can find the original Movies you want to move out of iPhoto and into iMovie, <CTRL> click on the Movie clip, then choose Reveal in Finder. That will jump you out of iPhoto temporarily and into the iPhoto Library folder. From there you can move that movie file to the desktop. Move all the clips you want, once they're all collected up go to iMovie and go to the File Menu > Import Files. Then point it to the desktop where you moved your video clips.
This will put all those videos into an Event folder in iMovie and bypass iPhoto Videos altogether. -
