Soundblaster Audigy and Windows

I've just installed Windows XP on a new hard dri've. I'm running an older computer with a 700mhz Celeron processor with an Audigy soundcard. On Windows ME it worked fine, but since upgrading, sounds work fine, but when I try playing music of any kind it locks my machine up so bad I have to shut it down manually. I've tried reinstalling Windows and the soundcard drivers, and nothing works. Is there a known issue with the Audigy and Windows XP?
I'm greatful for anything you can tell me, I'm at a loss.

I have a soundblaster Audigy SL? and use ventrillo for gaming. I tried headphones... I even physically unplugged my speakers from my soundcard and I still get game noise on vent? which of course dri'ves my friends crazy with the "feedback"? I *think* you have WhatUHear as the record device. Open up the Creative Control Panel (volume) and the far right option with the word Rec as the heading may have WhatUHear under it. You can click a drop down arrow and chose Microphone. Also, in Control Panel go to Sounds and Audio Devices, Audio Tab and click volume for Sound Recording. Make sure the tick is in the Microphone column.

Soundblaster Connect and Windows Media Pla

I am delighted with Creatives Soundblaster Connect, but here's my problem. I can Rip, Burn, and record from Cassette tapes as normal on Creative,?all tunes etc are?duplicated on Windows media Player. whilst I can Play and Burn tunes OK on Creative, I suffer a -2 sec "Hiccup" when listening and burning CDs on Windows Media Player, has anyone had this problem? or perhaps can suggest a cure, or does Mr Gates, dislike Creative!! Surround Mixer for Audigy and Windows 7?

I've just installed Windows 7 and I see that the old XP Surround Mixer is no longer working.
I know that?Windows has a sound?mixer, but it is?really annoying and incomplete.
Is there a functional Creative Surround Mixer that I can use with Windows 7?

I would like answers to your question also. Since re-installing, & losing surround mixer, I have sacrificed?most functions with regards to 5./7. sound. As you say, Window's own software is sub-standard when using the card. I love the Audigy2 ZS Platinum and want to get it up and running to its full glorious potential.
?PLEASE PLEASE CREATIVE?PROVIDE US WINDOWS 7 USERS WITH A NEW UPDATED?VERSION OR A VIABLE ALTERNATIVE.

:How to install The Soundblaster Audigy SE in Windows 7 RC?Y Two days ago I bought a Soundblaster Audigy SE-retail soundcard. I have a dual boot PC with Windows XP-SP3 and Windows 7 RC. The installation of the soundcard?in Windows XP was easy, no problems, good sound.
But how to install in Windows 7 RC ?
I have the installation and applications CD with XP and Vista drivers and I have the driver-download from Creative.com SB24PCDRV LB 0 - 04 - 0090.
Windows 7 tells me "No device for audio output is installed". Windows automaticly?installed a driver, but that doesn't work. (code 39). The driver download from?creative does not install new drivers and when I try it manually Windows tells me "The best driver is already installed"
When I uninstall?the driver that Windows installed and try to install the downloaded?creative driver for Windows 7, the driver will not install, and Windows message is something like "?no audio device is installed on this computer"
What to do ? A computer without sound is nothing...

I have used the pack on four different systems with AUDIGY LS and SE cards that I bought cheaply (all four on Ebay for $40). The package has worked under XP, Vista, and Windows 7 very well.
I have friends that play Left4Dead and they have been immensely pleased when playing the games in their flats with or without headphones, as compared to their old "onboard RE--t-k" sound.
The package also works well on a Gateway or HP machine when disabling onboard audio first then installing the Audigy and installing drivers and apps for the first time. Gi've up on using your old CDs, you will only run into a mountain of trouble trying to "Auto-Update" all that with the newest patches.

A question on 1.5, Soundblaster and Windows 7 64 bit!

I have been running Audition 1.5 for many happy years on XP, along with a Soundblaster Audigy 2 Sound card. I have recently joined the 21st century, and moved to windows 7 64bit. I have used the same soundcard, uploaded the latest drivers, and loaded Audition on the PC (and was very surprised it worked!!!). It plays OK, I can load files OK, and edit OK. I can't record a thing tho'. I have tried the same with Creative wave, and Audacity, and still nothing will record. I have tried with different settings, but have got no futher. Any ideas about settings? Do I need a new sound card, if so, what would you recommend?
Any comments would be most welcome.

I cannot connect to ASA at all, by using certificate authentication. I'm using smartcard reader with Active Client x64 (6.2.0.138) software for smartcard reader. When I try to connect to ASA for the first time from PC it just says: "no valid certificates found for authentication" and offers username/password because that is my default authentication. Then I connect with username/password and I connect successfully and I download client profile. Next time I try to connect, it prompts me for choosing certificate but it doesn't offer smartcard PIN entry and it also says "no valid certificates found for authentication" and prompts username/password.

Audigy SB and Windows 2003 Ser

I just installed Windows 2003 Server on my PC and the Soundblaster Audigy (Model SB0090) is not recognized by the OS. I can not locate drivers for Windows 2003 on Creative's website. Do these drivers exist or can I use other drivers?

Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum and Acid Pr

Hello. I am using an Emachines with 3.3GHz Celeron and .5G RAM and Windows XP SP2. I am trying to record with Acid Pro 6 at 24bit and 44.khz (seems to work with the default audio device - Microsoft Sound Mapper or something like that) but I do not get the I/O options that I have with?the Audigy. I went to Options - Preferences then clicked on the Audio device tab and I tried to switch the audio device?to Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS and I get a message saying that this device does not support that bitrate or sample rate. The only time it will let me switch to Soundblaster Audigy is if I first change to 24bit and 96khz. The problem with this rate is that?it consumes hard dri've space rapidly. Can the Audigy 2 ZS support a 24/44. rate? I am still trying all kinds of troubleshooting. I'm also researching on the Acid Pro forum for info. Any feedback will be appreciated. Thank you. Jeremiah

Yes I have had a driver problem so i went to the download section of this site and picked up a driver program for my soundcard yet it doesn't work. When i do uninstall my soundcard (i need to uninstall current driver to install new driver)and i restart my comp after removing the old one i get sound, but i notice i don't get very good sound, not as good as my old before it stoped working. But then after i install new one it just doesn't work!
Please help me if you know about drivers!!!!

As I said before, the goal is to try to get sound to play out of both the headset and the speakers attached to the rear of the soundcard simuntaneously.
The headset is plugged into one of those devices in the front that is in a 5 & /4" bay that has the individual knobs for adjusting volume for the headset and outbound levels for the microphone.
The speakers are plugged into the back of the soundcard and do not play any sound in any of the sockets, starting from the firewire port and counting 3 over.
Any suggestions? I? thought it might have something to do with the setting of the speakers from control panel - > Sounds and Audio Devices -> Advanced and picking the right choice there. No luck however. Same for the Creative Speaker Settings as well.
I'm at wits end and I'd be very thankful to whoever can resolve this for me. =)

Symptom = i listen to music and when i open any random picture/program the music hiccup/hangs for a milisecond.

I have just purchased the Audigy 5 Rx and windows 7 64 will not install this sound card , I can find in the device manager the Multimedia Audio controller card but when I try to install the drivers windows returns an error in installing them is there a trick or something I am missing , I have tried since Dec 30 with no luck even took the card out and put it back in , I am using a PCIe slot

Look on your CD for a "drivers" folder and then the WDM. You can browse to this in device manager and manually install your drivers by finding your AUDIGY 5, double clicking, then choose update driver, and then browse my computer for driver software. After installing, reboot. Retest the card. I have done this several times over the years when "setup.exe" on the CD wont work.

Audigy 2 Value and Windows 7 64bit driver don't work

my first Audigy SE before Audigy 2 Value (SB0400) worked perfect on Windows 7 64bit
with Audigy 2 Value SB0400 i tried 3 drivers , including the beta from the creative support , original and daniel_k driver and after reboot the windows hangs at LOGO and stays there.

Re: SB Audigy 2 ZS and Windows 7 - Full Package driver?T While Creative has written new drivers and some applications for Windows 7/Vista for the Audigy, they have not re-written or updated all of the original applications on the CD. This card is very old now. What Daniel K. did was take all of the applications or most of them, and tweaked them to properly install and include themselves in the registry on operating systems other than Windows XP. If the application you want is not included in his package, then you can try downloading the official Creative version and install it on your system in "compatibility mode" by right clicking the file, and choosing properties, and then the compatibility tab and choosing "Windows XP service pack 2 or 3" and it may or may not function.

Microphone , Audigy Se and Windows 7 64bit

*Microphone , Audigy Se and Windows 7 64bit's I have wasted several hours today trying to resolve this issue upto and including trawling the internet for a solution and completely removing and reinstalling drivers from disc and updating twice. Ultimately I downloaded an update from WIndows - Absolutely nothing, nada works!
I have the Mic Jack for my headphones plugged into the blue line in port - tried and tested on my system card (which works) but I consistently get Line--in Currently Unavailablke for this port suggesting that Creative are totally out to lunch on this one.
I have right-clicked and set levels, tried setting it as default, etc, etc, etc... nothing.
Has anyone succesfully got their mic to work uunder Win 7 64bit's
- Love how it says on the box that Vista nad WIn 7 are supported,,,? guess the partially bit was omitted!
I loathe wondows on any given day of the week but my Mac is currently down so I have no choice but to use this, my wifes machine... NOthiong but lost time whereas if I were on the mac I would be using that time producti'vely, with working software too I might add!
Hope someone has a fix for this because this machine is just one reboot away from going out the frogging window!!!

Are you using this driver? Are you getting no sound from your microphone or is nothing being recorded?
Please go to Control Panel, Sound make sure that the Microphone option is set as default and that the mic levels are adjusted accordingly, not mute.
