Soundblaster Audigy SE first sound really loud, then rest are quiet

no matter which system sound I set as the first one the system plays back after starting the computer, it's REALLY LOUD, then the rest of the sounds are quiet. How do I get ALL the system sounds to be the same volume?

I'm completely confused. The iMac is hot? It's cool? I don't think we know yet it's a G5.
Anyway, if it's an iMac G5, for the fans try an SMU reset.

If it's not an iMac G5, Google "SMU Reset" for your model.

  • I have burned a CD and the first 1/2 of the songs sound fine but the rest are not clear

I have burned a CD and the first 1/2 of the songs sound fine but the rest are not clear, they have a skipping sound to them.  I have erased teh CD-RW and tried again and it was somewhat better but the last few songs did the same thing.

    Jennann,
First of all, it is better to use CD-Rs than CD-RWs, as the latter often give problems when used for audio CDs.
The problem you describe -- bad audio on the later tracks of an audio CD -- can almost always be corrected by doing the burn at a much lower burn speed. Use 2x.
The burn speed is selected in the dialog box that comes up when you request the burn.  It defaults to "Maximum Possible," but there is a dropdown to select a lower value.

  • My sound gets really loud then soft - what do I do to fix this?

My sound when playing music or videos on all systems (itunes, youtube, internet) fluctuates while the sound is in play. It will be really soft then suddenly change to very loud wihtout me changing any sound - back and forth constantly. I have speakers plugged into my laptop but it also happens when its just the normal speakers in the computer. I havent changed any settings for sound. What do I do?

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

  • Sometimes the sound goes louder then quieter and crackles a little on my computer

So when I had tech support, I talked to them and they had me remove the drivers through device manager and then it reinstalled by itself when I restarted and it helped for a week or so. But it wasn't a long term solution.  Also, another issue I have is on some videos (somewhat rate), it won't play sound unless I go into playback devices in the sound menu and then click on "configure" for "speakers/headphones" and change it from 5.1 surround (which I don't have) to quadraphonic, hit next and uncheck the "surround speakers." Not sure why it always goes back to 5.1. I have two speakers and a subwoofer from logitech.  I have an HP Envy H9-1400t . 3.5GHz i7, 16gigs ram, beats audio on the mtoherboard. All updates installed on Windows 8.1 including the ones through the HP app.

By the way, the stuttering sounds kinda like a helicopter or something and it is continous and it goes on a regular rate unless I turn the sound way back up then the rate changes and it kinda makes the sound so dull and annoying
this is too bad cuz I paid much money in this machine because the speakers kick ass and now I cant party with it

  • Soundblaster Audigy Platinum - no sound / PC loc

I'v got a very annoying problem:
When upgrading my GFs PC with a new Mainboard (Gigabyte, NForce2 based) and a new processor, the machine started to freeze after a few minutes of playing games. Used Games were Rome: Total War and Counter Strike:Source.
First I blamed Windows (which is usually not the worst thing) and cleanly reinstall XP Pro with Servicepack 2.
    The Problem persisted.
I tried the old Mainboard, the old CPU, the old Ram Modules, another graphicscard, a different Harddisk and even a new Power Supply - of course in any possible combination.
(It took whole Eastern to do this, since I always made a fresh clean Windows installation each time I changed core components such as the Mainboard)
There was something strange: I accidently turned the switch of the powerline of, when Windows was about to restart after the Audigy Webupdate (Main Driver component of the Soundcard). SINCE THEN the Soundcard is SILENT !!!
The Driver recognizes it, the Mixer and the AUDIO HQ work, the Front Panel is also recognized.
I blamed Windows again and did once more a clean reinstallation - but the Soundcard stayd silent.
I removed the Card and SURPRISE - with the onBoard Soundchip (Some Realtek) enabled, the PC runs stable and I have sound (even if the Quality is not realy good).
    My Questions to you all:
Has anybody ever had a problem like that ?
Has someone any idea how to find out if the card is damaged or not ?

  • Soundblaster Audigy 2NX External Sound Card Fidelity Degradat

I get a muted, out of phase, tinny sound along with the music being played; sounds ok for a while then this happens regurlarly. Closing player & reopening stops the problem temporarily but recurs. I've uinstalled/reinstalled software & updated as well. Any suggestions?Message Edited by Vince8 on 0-22-2005 09:50 PM

You should insist to have the installation CD. There are several essential software in the CD which may not be avaibale for download. Alternati'vely, you may want to contact Creative technical support to get/buy the CD.

  • IPhone5 earbuds sound cuts out then wires are moved expecially near the mic, also have to jiggle wires to get left earbud sound on. . .

love the lighting fast speed & LTE!!!

My iPhone 5 earbuds is facing the same kind of issue.
It is kind of making a buzzing noise. Specially when I use the 3G Internet. It also seam that the earbuds is sometime making then simple stop. Some time it is working other time is not. I think we are kind of facing two problems. 1) The earbuds connection and 2) The wire or plug is grasping some interferences or signal that it should not get.

  • Soundblaster Audigy SE static and low volume problems...

Well, after failed attempts at getting my onboard ich5 chipset to work (which turned out to be Alsa 1.0.10 and 1.0.11 as 1.0.9 worked fine with it.) I decided to get a new soundcard. I purchased a Soundblaster Audigy SE.
The card is detected, there are no errors, and I can actually hear sounds coming from every application that plays audio. The only problem is, there's a loud static over these sounds which makes the sounds barely audible. Loud static, low sound. I've tried several different options in alsamixer but it doesn't help the static. By the way, the only options in alsamixer are for IEC. There are no "Master" or "PCM" sliders. (Not sure if this is what these cards do or not.)
Is there anyone out there that has this card and has been successful with it? I'm definitely having no luck with the sound thing lately. If anyone has any information or experiences with it, let me know please. I've googled around but really found nothing that helps as far adjustments and whatnot.
NOTE: I have read of success with this card in some other distributions.

maybe you can set it manually with amixer.
    amixer -h
    probably something like:
    amixer sset Master on
    amixer sset PCM on
    and to increase the volume:
    amixer sset Master 30
    amixer sset PCM 30
but it prolly don't work... Have you checked out the links at the bottom of: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/All … nd_at_once ?
Also i seem to be getting louder sound from the oss emulation kernel module for some reason... maybe you can up the audio in audacios or something for the oss sound and have it affect the whole system? that's just a shot in the dark..

  • Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 Zs help

Before I start rambling on about my problem here are my specs (BTW I'm not incredibly computer literate; my dad helped me install everything before I left for school):Cpu: Intel Duo Processor 2.66 GhzRAM: .5 GB DDR2Video Card: ATI Radeon 9600 (soon to be one of their newer models)OS: Windows XPSound Card: Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS?Ok so I was reinstalling everything after I had to format my computer. I get through installing my creative sound card and figure everything went great. I was playing my music when I had realized that I forgot to configure my sound card for them, as I was getting mono instead of stereo (was only playing out of left speakers). So I go into speaker setup and click on "calibrate speakers" or something like that. Anyway, the speaker calibrator says that It could not be ran for some reason (i forget). I figure that it wasn't working because I hadn't updated anything yet. I update, and I still get the same message. So I reinstalled the software and updated it again and now when I try to run ANY of my creative software related to the sound card (I.E. EAX console, Speaker Setup) it says that "The Audio device supported by this software is not detected. The Application will now shut down."? Now remember that I'm not great with computers, so my solution now will probably sound stupid. But anyways I figured that I had installed the wrong sound card software (it gives me three choices on the disc). I uninstall everything and choose another setting. I still got the same problem. So I try the third choice and I get the same problem. Any suggestions? I've tried all three choices and I still get the same problem.

    Hi
You may first need to patch the driver package by using ctcomp.exe to get std. drivers (eg. not Dell specific) installed to your Dell PC. Search this forum after ctcomp.exe --> there you'll find some instructions too.
You can also find a link to the latest drivers available (I personally use Audigy 4 drivers from november 2005 --> can be found from creative support pages) by searching this forum (I think the latest WHQL version is .~62 for the original version).
