Soundblaster Connect and Windows Media Pla

I am delighted with Creatives Soundblaster Connect, but here's my problem. I can Rip, Burn, and record from Cassette tapes as normal on Creative,?all tunes etc are?duplicated on Windows media Player. whilst I can Play and Burn tunes OK on Creative, I suffer a -2 sec "Hiccup" when listening and burning CDs on Windows Media Player, has anyone had this problem? or perhaps can suggest a cure, or does Mr Gates, dislike Creative!! Can someone help. The "Hiccup" occurs during the last 20 sec of each track..Cheers...Hamfist

no. it doesn't. I have just bought one and tried the same thing. The spec says it plays mp3 320kbit files.

  • Creative and Windows Media Pla

Hi- I'm looking in to getting a MP3 player soon and am currently on bouncing between the iPod 20GB, Creative Zen touch or Zen Micro- I'm mainly concerned with battery life and the sturdiness of the player (and the radio feature on the creatives sounds great too)
My question is regarding using Windows Media Player with the Creative Zens.. I read somewhere that it is compatible with these players, does anyone use this program with your mp3 player? I really like WMP (so much more than iTunes) and would prefer to use that to the other programs Creative offers with its players.

  • No Player Detected for my Zen V Plus, and I don't have Windows Media Pla

I don't get it, I went to uninstall Windows Media Player , since that is what every one says is the reason my computer isn't recognizing the Zen V Plus, but I don't even have it on my computer. What else can I do? I am not so PC friendly I have to admit, I work on a IMAC at work and just barely tolerate the PC that we have at home. Any suggestions before make a trip to the Apple store and pic up an IMac and IPod?

I bought my daughter the Zen V Plus for her birthday because we were getting tired of the Sony Walkman mp3 player only playing their format (atrac3). It made it hard to get music off the net that was mp3 format. It does not convert well. Anyway, we followed the install directions to the letter. It took all day (over 5 hours) to get this set up and music INTO it.
Turns out, while Windows Media Player transfers music to the player just fine, the Creative Media Source is junk. It does NOT recognize the player so you can not transfer music to the player. The Sync Mangager just wants to add EVERY song in your computer to the player and the Creative Media Explorer doesn't know what to do. I have used Sony Connect, iTunes and Windows Media player. All require program to transfer music. Why does this tiny player need so many programs? Why not one GOOD one to organize, burn, sync? It's like non of these programs can talk to the other one. To use the Media Explorer we had to re-create a playlist we already had in the MediaSource program. Also, I miss the easy - 2 - 3 of the Sony/iTunes/Windows Media Player.
MediaSource requires like 5 steps to organize the music list the way you want it (by song, artist etc). Other programs you just click on the column title and it organizes it just like that.
?I have decided for our own sanity (lost of profanity and tears just trying to get music into the player today) that we would just use Windows Media Player 0 from now on. My only complaint about using Windows Media Payer 0 to organize and transfer music is that I don't know how to make it tell me what is already in the player when I want to add/delete or change the music around.
?Does anyone know what program has to remain on our computer to run the Zen V Plus? Can I remove the dead MediaSource? Will the player still charge without it's?

Ok this is for all of you that have Windows Media Player (WMP ) and can't get your album art to be displayed.
    Go here
Support (You will see this near the top of your screen in the orange bar)
    2 Software AutoUpdate
3 Accept (this will only work I you player is connected tour computer)
4 You will now be told what device you have connected on your computer
5 Check Update (this may take a couple of minute even with broadband)
    And Download this
[size="">5. Creative Media Explorer Update for Creative ZEN Vision:M? (4.49 MB)?? 29 Nov 06????? Download Now[/b]
[size="">This update resolves compatibility issues between Creative Media Explorer or Creative MediaSource? Player/Organizer, and Windows Media? Player (WMP). For more details, read the rest of this web release note.
This update has rectified the problem for me If these steps do not work for you try looking for the download direct by doing the following
Support (You will see this near the top of your screen in the orange bar)
2 Downloads (Follow the steps to select the product YOU have)
3 Select YOUR Language and YOUR Operating System, leave file types set to All
    4 Click Go
    5 Download Patch
I have the latest Firmware installed (found it easiest to do using the Software AutoUpdate section of the website) even installed with WMP on my pc.
Also I updated my creative media explorer, which allowed me to convert more video files from the same place. I found this really usefull.
I have?NOT had the problem of my player not being recognised when connected to my pc and unfortunately I do not know how to solve that problem, sorry, hope some one else can help you with that.

Well I figured it out. Turns out if you go to Sync(little down arrow)>DEVICE_NAME>Advanced Options>Quality if you leave it on automatic it will transfer wav files, but if you change it (I did without knowing) then the highest quality you're going to get is 92 WMA.

  • Sound Blaster Audigy 2: No sound in DVD or Windows Media Pla

Getting around in Windows XP I get all the sounds in the book, whether it's starting up or shutting down, critical "bongs", icon confirmation "clicking", all the sounds are there. Where I do not get sound is While attempting to watch a DVD or when I try to play any music file in Windows Media Player. The DVD video will play, there's just no sound, and with Media Player I get this error message:? "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device."? Again, all the other Windows sounds are there. Anybody have any experience with this one?

I have just installed my Sound Blaster card, and get all of the Windows sounds. I can even play music CDs and movie DVDs on different media players other than Windows Media Player. The sound is also fine when playing games. However, when I try to use Windows Media Player, the CD and DVD plays, but there is no sound. In fact, when Windows Media Player is up and running, there is no Windows sounds or even other sounds when playing games. As soon as I close Windows Media Player, there is sound. I analyzed the configuration settings for both the Sound Blaster card and Windows Media Player, but I cannot see any problems.
    Does anyone have a clue?

  • CoreCentre and Windows Media Player 9

I have a problem with CoreCentre and Windows Media Player 9.  When CoreCentre is running, the CD drive stops and starts when I am playing an audio CD with Media Player 9.  If I use any other Cd audio player (eg Creative Mediasource Player) it does not happen.  I like to use Windows Media Player 9 (I am probably one of the few) but do not wish to turn off CoreCentre.
Can you help me please.  I have asked MSI support staff with no luck and also Microsoft Support (They suggested I go into Safe Mode and see if it still happens - of course it doesn't - I am in Safe Mode! - nothing works!!!).
    I am running Windows XP Pro SP1 with 865Pe Neo2 board, 1GB DDR3200 RAM and Pentium 4 3.0 GHz.

Well first of all get out of "safe mode"...It's no fun in there ...No really, I can believe that you are not the only one that this happens to ...You have to understand that "CORE-CENTER" is a resource hog!!..As it  has to be in order to give you that critical info in "real-time"..So I take it that this prob. only happens when you are running the CD or DVD programs?...Do you have your DRAM Voltage set to 2.7 Volts?..As this always seems to help on these MO-BO'S (i865-i875)...And if that does'nt work why not just close down "CORE-CENTER?..Until you are finnished with you CD'S ..Sean REILLY875

  • Which Code of avi can play in QT Pro and Window Media Player?

Which Code of avi also can play in QT Pro and Window Media Player?

Nevermind ... not that simple apparently. I managed to get one of the avi's in the CS5 project created automatically when opening the original CS4 project to show the entire contents but can't replicate the behavior to another project using the same avi. Here are the media start, end, duration and video in, out duration values for the file. Viewing the avi in the source monitor I can see the full 16+ minutes. Odd disconnect between the 2 sets of values.
    Any idea would be great!

  • WRT54G and Windows Media Connection

I just bought an XBOX 360 w/the USB wireless networking adapter installed in it.  I've installed the wireless adapter and configured it and it has successfully connected to my WRT54G wireless router.  I then went to my laptop (this laptop is already configured for my wireless network) and installed Windows Media Connection so I could stream my MP3's to the XBOX 360.  While installing the Windows Media Connection software, the software attempts to locate the XBOX 360 console.  All of these attempts failed.  I have disabled Windows Firewall on my wireless interface on my laptop just so you know.  I began to research some of the potential problems that I'm having and I came across this:
The following table lists the specific information about Media Center Extender programs that you must know to configure some non-Microsoft firewalls:
    Program/File Name    Port                Direction
    Ehshell.exe                  TCP5555         Incoming
    Ehshell.exe                  UDP 7777        Incoming
    Mcrdsvc.exe                UDP3776         Incoming
    Svchost.exe                 UDP 1900       Incoming
    Svchost.exe                 TCP3390         Incoming
    Mcxnettw.exe               Random          Outgoing
    Mcrmgr.exe                  TCP3932        Outgoing
    Ehexthost.exe              Random          Outgoing
The actual link to this requirement is:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/911728
I'm a little confused as to how I implement these requirements on my WRT54G.  Please chime in and tell me what tab and sub-tab that I apply these changes.  I assume that I would implement these requirements in the "Applications and Gaming" section, but I'm not sure.
    Thanks so much,
    David

First, you must set static IP and DNS on your XBOX (IP address should be the same range on with the router, you can get the DNS from your working computer or on the status page of the router's web ui). Then all you need to do is forward the ports being used by XBOX to the router. Click Here on how to do port forwarding on the Router.

    Hi Ted
I deleted the file and reconnected my device and it quickly grew to 600kb. I'm not sure exactly what you need and there didn't seem to be anything interesting at the end of the log, but I did find the following lines which, from what I can, is from the point when WMP tried to establish a connection with the device and failed.

  • Zen VPlus recognized by Vista, but not by windows media pla

    Hello,
my zen VPlus is recognized by vista (in device manager it is in "Portable Devices") , I can also find it in Windows Explorer.
However, it doesn't show up in windows media player in the sync section; if I deconnect the zen and I reconnect it back, I can see the message "detected my zen" on the lower side of wmpl but I still get the picture "connect to a device" above.
Any idea ? The last firmware has been installed and I can directly copy files with Windows Explorer.

You need to install iTunes in order to install the necessary drivers.

No, iPods are NOT compatible with Windows Media Player. There are a variety of other third party programs that are compatible with an iPod, but I would not recommend using them for a number of reasons.

There are several different ways for handling multiple iPods with one computer. One option is to create an entirely new and separate iTunes library. The only downfall to this, is that you will have to manually choose which library to open upon opening iTunes each time. For more help and information regarding these methods, check out this Apple support document.

  • MuVo V200 - Need advice on how to play recorded files using Windows Media Pla

    Hi
    I bought a V200.
Transferred the recorded audios to my hard disk but can't get windows media player to play it. Error message of: codecs needed.
It was recorded as a WAV file.
    Please advise.
    Thanks.

Apparently you are committed to certain hardware.  There is no question that the SSD should be installed in the current HDD bay.  Should you choose to have a second HDD, it should be installed in place of the DVD drive.  Note that some early 2011 MBPs had SATAII connections to the DVD drive and some had SATAIII connections (presumably later production models).
I do not run Windows on my MBPs but I do know that parallels is a resource hog.  On that basis, I suspect that it should be installed on the SSD where you can take advantage of the faster processing.  The SSD will be electrically more efficient than than a HDD.  If you have concerns about battery run time, then do not install the HDD in place of the DVD drive.  I do not know if there are third party applications that allow user intervention for controlling a HDD in the DVD bay.  You might search for same.  If there is, then the argument of installing it there becomes a stronger one.
You will have to assess your own work flows to determine what impact it has on the configuration options.  Since I do not know them, I cannot comment on that.
    Ciao.

  • N73 and windows media player driver

    hi everyone,
im having a problem installing the windows media player driver off the disc for the n73 it installs everything else but fails to install that anyone know where i can down load a copy.?
    ive got:
    pc suite 6.83
    windows xp service pack 2
    windows media player 11
    cheers

I have the latest version of Windows Media Player 11. I have the same problem and will try to explain the steps in the best way I can.
I connect the N73 to the laptop using a cable
I select media player and press ok twice.
Found New Hardware box appears and tells me "Windows needs to install driver software for your N73.
I select the recommended option "Locate and install driver software"
After a few moments I am then asked to insert the CD that came with the N73. It doesn't work as it is an old CD with old drivers from last year.
I select I don't have CD option and I get "problems and reports caused by mobile phone" message etc.
I have tried installing the latest CA-52 driver but I cannot install since I have the latest PC Suite. Windows Media Player is also set up to automatically download licenses required to play and synchronised tracks.
