SoundBlaster Drivers From Windows Upd

During installing updates from Windows Update today it has installed the driver for my SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS. I supose these drivers are the fully certified drivers from Microsoft that we all were awaiting for. To Which version correspond this drivers? I cannot try these at this moment cause I?m out but when I?m at home I will post feedback.

So what I have installed?
These are the details from the update history window (The text is extracted from the screenshot with OneNote):

  • Windows 7 x64 can't read/install any printer drivers from Windows Server 2003 x64 (AMD64 folder and HP Deskjet 855c)

I read the thread Widows 7 printer
HP deskjet 855c driver about possible installation of HP855c drivers onto Windows 7 x64 from "Windows Server 2003 x64" CD but I didn't have enough luck to succeed with doing it on my laptop. That thread appears to be dead now
as it is marked "Answered", so I'm asking for help here. I have Toshiba Satellite P500 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (http://i55.tinypic.com/2zgth6v.jpg).
Let me tell you first that I don't have access to Windows Server 2003 x64 or XP Pro 64 CD's. However I did some research online, which eventually forced me to learn about the "file sharing". After extensive search I was able to get the copies
of AMD64 folders from Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x64 with SP2 and
XP Pro 64. The reason that I went also after XP Pro was because I thought that the extra wording "R2 Standard x64 with SP2" in description of "Windows Server 2003" did not reflect the exact name provided by poster
Alan. I couldn't find just "Windows Server 2003 x64" (does it matter?).
Anyway, I followed first the drill with running "printui /s /t2" and disabling UAC, and then in both cases I was able to locate the
NTPRINT.INF file (http://oi51.tinypic.com/9qwvt2.jpg - this image is from XP Pro AMD64 folder) but each time when I
attempted to install the driver, I got the same message stating:
"The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software drive for your device. If the folder contains the driver, make sure it's designed to work with Windows for x64-based systems." (http://oi53.tinypic.com/27yveiw.jpg)
    Why aren't there x64 drivers?
During several installation attempts I had the printer connected to or disconnected from my laptop. It didn't make any difference. I must add that for this purpose I had to use different cable than the original one designated only for the
Parallel port in my old desktop with Windows XP. My new laptop with Windows 7 x64 came only with 3 USB ports (plus 1 HDMI and 1 Serial). Because of that situation I bought in advance a new printer cable called “USB to 36-pin Parallel Port Adapter
Cable” (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003A8I75E). I'm not sure, if it will work until I can install the printer.
Besides, nobody talked about this issue yet. I was also playing with the port choices in "Add printer" step; changing from default LPT1 to USB001 with the same negative results.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I was very hopeful after reading positive "case closed" notes there.
Can anyone help me here, maybe by making the necessary files available for download? I'm willing to pay for such assistance or make a donation, if necessary. Seriously. Judging by the large number of views of the original
thread, one could assume that there is a potential demand for such service. It would be more human to pay few bucks for a few driver files than $900 for the whole Windows Server 2003 x64 CD, no? Can Microsoft accomodate me/us, please? :)

P.S. I was advised to come for help here from
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/windows-7-x64-cant-readinstall-any-printer-drivers/4e7d06e1-33a5-4597-be70-4fdc087a63a7?msgId=9a045994-0d31-4d40-b17d-dba372393ee4

I have my HP 855c/driver working on Win 7 Ultimate x64. I used the 'printui /s' procedure and 4 files described above with some minor changes.
I pulled WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB914961-SP2-x64-ENU.exe down from the Microsoft website. Running the file causes the exe to unpack into a temp folder at the root drive. A 'Setup Error' message box is displayed once the file is run. I left this
message box up until I copied ntprint.inf, ntprint.cat, and sp2.cab from the temp folder.
I copied driver.cab from a Windows XP Pro disc. I also needed amd64\stdnames.gpd which was already in my Windows 7 c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 folder.
I created a folder with the 5 files (ntprint.inf, ntprint.cat, sp2.cab, driver.cab, and amd64\stdnames.gpd). This is my 'Have Disc' folder.
I followed the 'printui /s' instructions, first changing the permissions mentioned above and then installing the driver. Next I followed the instructions to add a printer from Control Panel 'Devices and Printers' - 'Add Printer', choosing to 'use an existing
driver' when installing the HP 855c.
I used a slightly different ntprint.inf, size 1570418. The readable contents of ntprint.inf is as follows. Notice the line 'CatalogFile=ntprint.cat' is not included. I tried using the 1570468 version of ntprint.inf; when I did I received an incompatibility
message (probably the same one mentioned above).

  • Skip Obtaining drivers from Windows Update using MDT 2012

Does anyone know how to disable windows from obtaining drivers online after MDT is done imaging, the reason why I ask is that after the image is done, it takes forever for a dell keyboard to install drivers because windows is searching online. I would like
to turn that setting off using MDT 2012 if possible.
    Thanks,
    Bobby

Dynamic update only works when you are upgrading from an existing OS, and it only downloads critical drivers; network, video, audio, and mass storage. It wouldnt help in a bare metal build and probably wouldnt have anything to do with plug and play detecting
    a keyboard.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee126093(WS.10).aspx
Our online driver search hasnt worked in a while, since they began configuring our browser with a .PAC file pushed down via GPO. WinHTTP can't pick up settings from the PAC file, and we can't hard code the settings into the OS, because there are
a number of different proxies depending on where in the world you are.
I actually hard code proxy and WinHTTP settings while I build the reference image and then remove them, just so I can do automatic updates. It's amazing how much more work "security" causes sometimes.

  • Laserjet CP2025 share issue (64-bit drivers from Windows Server 2003 32-bit).

    Hi,
We are migrating our Desktops from XP 32-bit to Windows 7 64-Bit and I'm trying to update all of our printer drivers on our Print Server (Windows server 2003 32 Bit).
I am adding the new drivers by opening up each printers properties on the print server, going to Sharing and then add new driver and directing it to the relevant folder for the 64-bit drivers for the printer.
Every printer (HP, Panasonic, Brother) has worked so far, except for the HP Laserjet CP2025. The Net Express installer doesn't work. Nor do the Universal Printing Drivers (PLC 6). Does anyone know a way around this?
    Thank you.

Can anyone help with this? I'm in a difficult position with this. Any help would be appreciated.

  • I have to delete all Apple drivers from Windows 7 every time I connect via USB

    Hi,
Every time I connect to itunes via USB cable on my Windows & Laptop, the iphone DOE'S NOT SHOW UP IN MY COMPUTER. It shows up in iTunes and syncs ok, but I cannot access my photos from the phone in 'My Computer' !
As a consequence, I have to uninstal both the MTU driver (or Apple iPhone driver) from "Portable Devices" and the "Apple MObile Device USB Driver" from the USB Contollers tan from within "Device Manager". I then immediately scan the comuter for changes and everything works again and my iphone is listed in "my Computer" again. Eveything is fully functional at this stage.
HOWEVER, as soon as take the phone off the |USB cable and try to reconnect the iphone again to the PC, the very same thing happens again and I have to go through ther same procedure all over again!
I have never had these problems before updating my iphone and itunes the last few times, not sure exctly when the problem started, but it was at least a couple of updates ago!
Another thing I noticed since the one from last ios update for the iphone 4, is that my phone mutes itself at random times and I have to restart or respring the device to get sound back!
Not related to the previous problem, but I thought i'd mention it
Since the last ios update a few days ago, it hasn't muted itselld yet but as I have not read anywhere anout anyone experiencing the same problem, I am not too hopeful that it has been fixed!
If anyone can help with a more permanent solution to the USB problem, I would be very grateful.
By the way, I have changed USB cables, restarted iphone and laptop several times, completely removed iteuns and reinstalled it as per the instructions on the itunes site, made ure everything is updated to the very latetest firmware and software, in short, I have tried EVERYTHING, so please don't state the obvious in your replies, I have pretty much tried everything before coming onto this forum.
    Many thanks in advance,

Sorry, just to confirm, I DID NOT ACTUALLY ANSWER MY OWN QUESTION!
I replied to the previous message from my iphone and I managed to hit the link to "This has answered my question" by accident!
I AM STILL LOOKING FOR A RESOLUTION TO MY ORIGINAL PROBLEM. CAN SOMEONE ALSO NIW TELL ME HOW TO GET RID OF THE GREEN TEXT TGAT SAYS TGAT MY QUESTION IS ANSWERED? That is a pain! It should at least ask you to confirm that your question is actually answered and you didn't hit it by mistake, like I did!

  • HT1414 ipod shuffle drivers from windows? Not showing in explorer

I have an old shuffle 2nd generation. when i plug it in it says that it is syncing do not remove. right after that it says it is all done but nothing cjhanges.
I checked to see if it shows up in the explorer window but it is not there. when i plug it in it shows for a brief second and then disappears. any ideas?

Hi: I would like to add to this and was wondering if you had any suggestions. I have itunes installed in my main laptop but all of a sudden for a last few weeks my ipod is not recognised either in My Computer drive (I am using Windows) or in my itunes. I am using an original Apple cable. Initially I thought it was a problem with my cable or USB head but when I insert my ipod into my other laptop or home PC or work PC the device is recognised, just not being recognised in the actual laptop in which my itunes is installed. I have reinstalled itunes, tried different USB drives - still wont work and this has happened quite recently. All these years I was using the exact same laptop and ipod to download and sync music and it worked fine with no problems at all

  • HP PSC 1100 drivers for Windows 7

Are there already HP PSC 1100 drivers for Windows 7?
I cannot use the scanner with my new Windows 7 machine.
    Thanks!

The PSC 1100 drivers should be pre-installed on Win 7 itself. If just plugging in the printer doesnt work, then go to the Devices window, click on Add A Printer, and when you come to the drivers window, click on Windows update to get the latest drivers from Windows update. This is a legacy product, so HP most likely wont release software and drivers separately.

  • Install optional driver updates from Windows Update for IdeaPad Yoga 13?

Windows Update on IdeaPad Yoga 13 - Windows 8.1 (64-bit) suggests two optional updates:
Conexant - Audio Device - Conexant SmartAudio HD
    10.01.2014
    Intel Corporation - Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.3 - Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
Intel Corporation Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.3 software update released in May, 2014
    04.06.2014
Should I install those updates or should I keep the original drivers?
The original drivers from Lenovo "Drivers and software" section (http://support.lenovo.com/de_DE/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS032590) seem to be older/outdated:
Conexant Audio Driver for 64-bit Windows
    8.65.3.53 10/22/2013
Integrated Graphics Driver for 64-bit Windows
    Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
    9.17.10.2843 10/23/2012
Intel Video Driver for 64-bit Windows
    10.18.10.3282 10/22/2013

Windows Update has now another update for "Intel Corporation Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1" and still no updates on the Lenovo site.
So I tried the the drivers from Windows Update and it seems that every thing is still working fine.

  • How to install bootcamp drivers on Windows 8?

    Hello,
Today I decided to install Windows 8 onto my Mac Pro running 10.8.5 in order to play games on Steam.  I started BootCamp assistant and made a 65GB partition for Windows 8, and when I tried to install Windows I unchecked the top box (not sure what it said now).  Now I have a Windows computer, I CANNOT get back to OS X.  The Mac Pro will not boot into OS X, it just goes straight to Windows every time.  I've read that there should be some place in Windows to switch back, but I cannot find it.  I tried holding down the option key upon boot up at the gray screen, it still goes straight to Windows.  I tried holding command R at the boot up screen, it goes straight to Windows.  HELP!!  I picked the 60.5GB partition to install on, could it have somehow erased my OS X partition?  Is there a way to install bootcamp drivers from Windows?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jared

[Enable Bluetooth functionality after a clean installation of Windows 8|http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2C03FI0001R04.htm]
If a clean installation of Windows 8 has been performed, Bluetooth is not present and does not work on your notebook. It is necessary to install two driver components manually to activate the Bluetooth functionality.
    - Toshiba System Driver
    - If your notebook is equipped with an Atheros or Realtek WLAN card with Bluetooth, you have to download the Atheros or Realtek Bluetooth Filter Driver
    - If your notebook is equipped with an INTEL WLAN card with Bluetooth, you don't need to download any filter driver

  • Windows Update installs older Canon MG4100 drivers in Windows 8/8.1

When I turn on the MG4120 printer and the printer is already setup for wireless and I have WSD enabled, Windows 8 or 8.1 automatically installs older Canon MG4100 drivers from Windows update.  The same thing happens if I connect the USB printer before installing the Canon software from the website and the same issue also happen in wireless mode.  The version that gets installed by Windows Update is the same version listed in the catalog at http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=mg4100.
    Windows 8,Windows 8.1 Drivers,Windows Vista  Drivers (Printers)  8/16/2011  2.50.2.70
    Windows 7  Drivers (Printers)  3/13/2012  18.0.2.31
Canon, can you please submit the newer printer driver to microsoft Windows Update?

    Hi KeithWeisshar,
WSD drivers are supplied and supported by Microsoft.  The version numbers and dates are not comparable to the numbers and dates for our drivers.  While WSD will provide you with basic printing capability and some features, to get the most from your printer, I recommend using the drivers found on our website.

  • Help needed upgrading from Windows 8 to XP for Conexant Sound Driver

I upgraded from Windows 8 to XP and got everything else working except for the sound. I have scoured the internet and tried many versions of drivers from windows 7 ones to XP ones with no success. I tried older driver´s version as well.  After a reboot there is no sound device loaded in the control panel for sound. I have a C845D-SP4327SL  model laptop. Does anyone have any process to make this work that is proven? Thanks

hi. if you want to that your sound device was in control panel after a reboot , here is only one solution for that, all you have to do is upgrade first  hdaudio bus controler. Driver must be copied first from computer with Vista os. if your xp is 32bit you have to copy this driver from any Vista x32 if  your xp is 64 bit then Vista must be x64 as well.  driver for forced upgrade through device menager you will find in any vista os  Windows--> System32-->DriverStore-->FileRepository-->hdaudbus.inf9689af2f
once copied that file from any computer equiped with Windows Vista , copy it on your desktop, next step go to the device menager  and find in system device tab 2 entries UUA High definition audio and update both by forced update. You have to point exactly where is located your driver copied from vista. after this update your sound device will be in the control panel and device manager always and permanent.
I had the same problem with my xp instaled on satelite p500 and only this solution solved my problem with disappearing sound device after reboot.
ps. if this solution help you please tell us about it.

    ****Disclaimer*****
HP doesn't recommend the installation of Windows 7 on a consumer computer shipped with Windows 8, nor will it support the installation of Windows 7. HP may not provide Windows 7 drivers and suitable drivers may not be available for the hardware in the computer. Also, Windows 7 may not support some of the hardware or software features designed for the computer.
Make sure you create your HP Recovery Discs or USB Flash Recovery media before modifying or changing ANYTHING.
    You will need to DISABLE "Secure Boot" and ENABLE "Legacy Support" in the "BIOS Secure Boot cofiguration" on the settings page shown below, before you can attempt to install Windows 7;
Additionally, as the hard drive is most likely partitioned as GPT, you will have to boot the computer using the "UEFI - CD/DVD drive" or "UEFI - USB Flash drive" options in the "F9" boot menu. If "UEFI - CD/DVD drive",  "UEFI - USB Flash drive" or something to that effect doesn't exist in the boot menu, please post a screen shot and/or descibe the listed boot options.
I suggest using Windows 7 SP1 for the best intallation experience. If you need Windows SP1, please see "How to Install Windows 7 Without the Disc" to download and create your own Windows 7 SP1 disc. If the DVD refuses to boot as UEFI, you may need to use a USB Flash drive (may require DISABLING "Fast Boot" in the BIOS) as the installation media. Please download the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to create a Windows 7 SP1 USB Flash drive. Please note that some computers may not recognize a valid UEFI enabled USB Flash drive if it is formated as NTFS and may require a FAT32 formatted USB Flash drive. You should be able to make a FAT32 formatted Windows 7 installation USB Flash drive using Rufus, UNetbootin, Universal USB Installer, or WiNToBootic. I like Rufus, as it has options for "GPT partition scheme for UEFI computer" and "FAT32".
    If you still have missing or unknown devices after installing the drivers, please post the Windows Device Manager's "Hardware Ids" (just the string of text will do) for those devices as shown in the example below;

  • Unable to access the internet on windows xp using bootcamp. I installed the bootcamp drivers ( from snow leopard) but it still doesn't work. I have parallels 6 also installed and IT works fine. I am missing a rtl network adapter-thanksr

    Hi
I have a new 21 inch imac oct 2011 version. I installed bootcamp and windows xp on my machine and i also installed parallels 6.
Paralleles works great and i can open any program with it. But bootcamp also works EXCEPT it refuses to give me access to the internet. I installed the bootcamp drivers from my snow leopard disk, it did not make a difference. All the drivers installed but still no internet. I then installed the bootcamp drivers from the gray mac osx disk (#1) but it stopped installing with an error number ( 2753) and it said that the package was damaged.
I have tried everything; i opened each disk and trieed installing the files separately. Nothing.
What i see missing in my devices screen in XP is the network adapter.
I have a router (dlink-dr615) and it is connected by ethernet to my imac. I wonder if THIS might have anything to do with the problem. Any guidance would be much appreciated.
    Thank you

I'd recommend reposting in the Boot Camp forum, that is where the Boot Camp and Windows gurus hang out.
    Good luck.
