Soundblaster Live! 1024 and the Gameport under

Hello, everyone.
After a fresh install of my Win98SE system (the system hard disk had a failure), I did everything to correctly install my SB Li've! 024 (by the way, why isn't it listed on the Homepage ?). It works. No problem.
A few days ago I began pulling out my old DOS games (have a rather "retro phase" currently ) and I've noticed that they cannot detect the joystick that's connected on the sound-card's gameport.
I mean the real, pure DOS, not the socalled "DOS-Mode". You can reach that pure DOS when you start Win98SE and choose in the starting menu (I've always turned it on) the option "prompt only" (I guess that this is the correct translation since I use a German Win98SE).
I've been browsing around in the ocumentation, but I cannot find anything.
All documentation I've found this far relates to Win problems (in conjunction with the gameport), but not towards plain DOS.
I've wondered if there are switches / jumpers on the soundcard's board which I should use for that (I've noticed there are jumpers there), but the documentation doesn't tell anything about the board's layout.
So, I'm puzzled : Why is this that DOS-based gmes cannot detect the joystick connected to the soundcard's gameport ? (Under Win98SE itself there is no problem at all.) I have no answer.
So I thought maybe someone here has a clue for me ?

P.S. : Specs : The joystick is a Saitek Cyborg 3D (plain old version, possibly the first one), a Gigabyte Mainboard (GA-7IXE) also containing an USB function (enabled).

Did you set the speaker setting to 4/4. speaker setup? Try also using these newer CD installation.

When I upgraded to 4 the print icon dissapeared and the print button under the "file" drop down does not funcion. I have

try this:
remove the driver in system preferences > Print
select the printer then click the minus button
right click in the white background of the printer column > reset printing system
reinstall the driver
then repair permissions in applications > utility > disk utility

Conflict with SoundBlaster Live! and Asus A8V Deluxe onboard au

Hi,
I have just upgraded my motherboard to an Asus A8V Deluxe. On my old board, I used to use two sound devices at once. One was the onboard sound and the other was a PCI Sound Blaster Li've card.
On the new board, I have the Realtek onboard sound enabled in BIOS. This works fine on its own, but when I put the Sound Blaster Li've in, Windows no longer displays the Realtek in the device manager. Instead I just get the Sound Blaster. So its like the motherboard doesnt like two cards at once.
I would like to get the onboard sound working as I use it most days for internet telephony through a headset while my PCI card is used for music / games etc through the loudspeakers.

<i have that mobo in my other pc and i could never get the onboard sound to work with the augy2 zs at all. it would never show up in device manager when ever i had the augy2 installed. i did talk to a ASUS tech and they told me that you cant run the onboard with a sound card at all. it is automatically disabled vie mobo. some how? he realy didnt go into details about it. but yeah i ended using 2 sound cards on that pc the augy2 zs and a li've 5. 24 bit so i could have my teamspeak usin the 5. and everything else used the augy2. and even now with this new pc i built i cant use the onbaord sound with a sound card. even tho i could use it for a bit tho. it would ened up crashing an the blue screen of death would also happen when i did. so i to now use a usb headset that is for playstation2 since it has its own sound device built in it. but sorry for no good news for ya tho. but other then that , that mobo is a good one tho, the A8V deluxe.

Live recordings and the click between tracks

Dear users,
I'm a very fresh user and i wanted to know if there is a way around the stops between tracks on live recordings.
I realy don't like the sound of that everytime a new number comes along.
I have done it by way of ripping and using itunes....they all have the same result between the tracks.
Somebody told me that i should learn to live with it?
Every tip is welcome!

I know that i'm not the worlds best pc user...but i have done everything what i could think of.
Put a cd in > open itunes > and wait for the things to come.
Then i have the option to import the cd witch i do.
Before and during this i can not use this button...it stay's grey....also when i import a file from my folders its the same story...this button wont work.
I updated the itunes....and still the same.
Buttons i can not use under the " Advanced " tab:
Convert
Get cd track names
Submit cd track names
Join cd tracks
Convert ID3 tags
I have worked by the notes you've given me....and still no result.
I'm sory that i can not see/solve this problem the way that somebody else will see and solve it.
At my side the button stay's grey....

Soundblaster Live Value and Windows

I have been previously running Soundblaster Li've Value on an Windows ME computer without any problems. I have now upgraded to Windows XP, could you please advise what files I require to run Soundblaster Li've Value on Windows XP including the application file. Are any files required from the original Soundblaster CD. I would appreciate your advise. kevsim

SoundBlaster Live Crackling and Popp

I've tested different things but still don't know what I'm doing wrong, I got a refurbished external Soundblaster li've card from ebay and I'm trying to record music in realtime but not sure what to do. I have a brand new toshiba satellite laptop with dou centina processors (.6X2) and 52 MB ram, how do i mess with the settings for latency or bios and stuff like that, i read the article about X-Fi but and understand the stuff posted but don't have any direction to go, just an idea.....is it the memory card's fault or my computer or the usb bandwidth or what?

Live communicator and the newer lyncs software for it ?

I am wondering I have a small business and don't have the means to setup a windows server os or lync server software.
So I am setting my employees up with the lyncs client office software or the older live communicator software for some of my older machines.
I am wondering how I can do my meetings thru Microsoft or a trusted third party website.

Soundblaster Live (Dell) and Windows 98 SE dont wo

Hi:
Have a SB li've (value?) (CT4780) from a Dell PC, circa 2000. The Dell machine died so I removed the SB li've card and Installed it in my Asus MB P3B machine running windows 98 SE. Dnloaded the drivers for SB Li've Value from the Creative USA site and installed them....No sound...from any source. Checked the web..supposedly there are some problems with this card and usable drivers from Creative. Can anybody point me toward the right set of drivers that will make this card work with W 98SE?

Those are the upgrade drivers. I need the original drivers that came on the CD.
When I try to install the upgrade drivers, the installation correctly completes, but after restarting device manager just shows failure on the card with a message about drivers not being installed.

Live update and Audio

Can anyone tell me, how come the sound disappear everytime I run Live Update, and the only way to restore it is re-boot the computer?

I have had a similar problem with onboard AC-97 audio on KT4V-L. Every time I install a program or update my virus software(or update anything else) there is no sound. Insted of rebooting, just aujust the windows volume up and then down and sound will return, at least for me. ?(
No clue as how to solve tho, or I would have by now.

HT1711 I bought an album and the "album only" is malfunctioning. Is it possible to just get that track fixed?

I bought the Mutemath Armistice (Live) album and the only song that messed up, is Burden, which is an album only track. I was wondering if there was some way to fix the track so I can be a happy customer. Thanks.

X99S GAMING 9 AC and the Avermedia Encoder

I have heard that the Hardware encoders that avermedia uses in its products produces lower quality the the X264 codec used by xsplit. meaning more Pixelation and blurriness during high movement games when live streaming to Twitch. Ive seen a few streams and i found this was the case.. I am interested in your motherboard but wondering whats going to differentiate your avermedia h264 encoding for live streaming and the same encoding chip in my AM Livegamer hd card.
Is the MSI encoding software x264 like xsplits encoder or H264 which has a traditionally inferior quality to x264 done by the cpu.

Damages of any kind cause by the user is not under warranty unless you have Apple Care + (plus).
You might need to send your iPhone to a friend who lives in New Jersey for an Out of Warranty replacement. (Not free)

SoundBlaster Live! 24 and Vista - Deteriorating Sound Qual

I've recently upgraded to Vista Business, and my system informs me that except for the drivers for an ancient scanner all is working properly.
When playing music (using a Creative SB Li've 24bit card with the most recent driver installed), all starts off well (in fact playback is better than under XP Pro) but the sound quality starts to deteriorate badly, especially when I open a browser. Quite often the browser itself seems to freeze.
I have 3Gb RAM, with a 3.60Ghz P4 processor.
Task Manager tells me that often I am running at 00% of CPU capacity, though the problem seems to occur at lower usage too.
I've checked everything I know to check but just can't seem to get to the root of the problem. Can anyone suggest anything I should be looking at?

Sadly no real progress.
I simply pulled the Soundblaster Live 24 out of the computer and am using the onboard sound instead which at least for me Arch recognized just fine.
I haven't been able to get any suggestions for why the Soundblaster was not working, but I am going to try another sound card a friend lent me and see what happens.
