SoundBlaster X-FI XtremeGamer Fatality Pro & Windows Vista 64 Drive

Just wondering what the current driver is for my video card ( SoundBlaster X-FI Xtreme Gamer Fatality Pro). I downloaded the following driver (Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Pack .04.0078) and I'm not sure it is the correct driver. I've searched the forums and see that everyone is talking about the recently pulled driver (SBXF_PCDVT_LB_2_5_0003.exe). Would this be the driver I should be using for my sound card If not, what is the correct driver I should be using for my sound card Is there a current driver for my sound card I noticed that this driver is available as well (Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi XtremeMusic, Platinum, Fatalty and Elite Pro with Open AL support 2.09.0007). Just trying to clear up some confusion and not mess up my recently formatted computer with the newly installed Windows Vista 64. I'm hoping someone can help clear things up for me. Thanks for the replies.

I'm not sure what all is included in the Audio Pack but the 2.5.0002 or .0003 drivers are technically the correct ones. (You may only be able to get .0002 since the other one was pulled). However, you'll find that a majority of users are completely unable to run Vista with an X-Fi card at all.
The easiest way to get the latest driver/software is to go here: http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/ and select the card you own.
Good luck, but don't hold your breathe...

  • Cloning Windows Vista Hard Drive

    I have a Mac Pro.
I have Windows Vista installed on a separate internal hard drive.
I want to make a bootable clone of this Windows Vista hard drive onto another separate internal hard drive.
Is there a program or utility that allows this.
I have tried Norotn Ghost and it is not "reliable".
    Thanks

You can try Winclone by downloading it from [HERE|http://www.twocanoes.com/winclone>. Please do a search on Winclone in the forums so that you get a full idea about it.

  • How do I get Vista to go back to the Windows' Vista generic driver after an Extigy upgrade fiasco

Hello all. First, I'm glad to have the opportunity to be a part of this group. I didn't know it even existed, but here I am...so, let me know what you think.
I am a new Windows Vista Ultimate OS owner, and thus far, I'm absolutely thrilled with the advances in video render and compression speeds. However, one of the auto-update features tried to update my Extigy driver, the one that apparently loaded with the original install of Windows Vista, and the update didn't work...go figure. So, now there is no way to use the system restore as it doesn't recognize that there was a change, and I can't get the Extigy to make a peep.
How do I go bakc to the Windows Vista generic driver so I can listem to my voice overs agan? Thanks so much folks... Michael

Go to the device manager, and select the extigy, then properties, then in the driver tab, the 3rd button down

  • Creative X-FI Elite Pro + Windows Vista = Audiodg.exe 60%+ CPU Please He

    Hi,
I got a problem with the Audiodg.exe process, problem is that sometimes it uses from 5% cpu and jumps to 50% and more and when playing this makes everything choppy and even cause mouse lagg..
As fast as i tab down the game the process drops to 5-0 and if I tab in again it jumps and holds on for several sekunds/minutes and then everything works fine and some minutes later it starts again.
This Hapends when playing all sort of games but mostly hapends in Counter Strike Source, and Windows Media Player, when watching films or listening to music but when doing that it gets worse and making the sound to lagg or slowdown etc.
Any idea got all the latest drivers exept for bios becouse Asus bios are unstable, and i cannot switch audio drivers becouse i got 4gb of ram and only the latest creative drivers work with 4gb...
    Hope you understand everything

I didnt have this issue before to, it just starded after my reformat when i noticed that my cpus where on 100% in a game and then noticed that it was a process called Audiodg.exe that eats everything.
Im running software from my Creative Vista CD + updates from Creative Site, (and the 10006. driver from this site.) and no no codec packs installed yet. nothing this is a clean install only standard programs running installed only nod32 creative software and defrag software. and i used this before when i didnt have this problem only new is the drivers that i NEED becouse i use now 4gbs of ram and, this is the only hardware change from format, i had 2gb then now i got 4gb and i downloaded the latest driver, maybe its is the problem, but i need this driver.
Im 100% its the drivers because i've seen many other issues like this with other Audio companies that fixed it with a driver update, exept Creative "wow thats some news" i've allready talked at Technet on Vista 64 forums and person told me that it a driver issue.
Another proof is that if i run windows doing nothing Audiodg.exe uses constantly 0-4% of my CPU, if i start a mp3 its jumps to 6-8% if i turn of Cmss3d in Creative Console it drops instantly to 0% and stays there all the time, so its something with the drivers. running open al software only limits the audiodg to some point, but when running (Teamspeak) with Direct Sound, and (Counter StrikeSource) with Open Al /Alchemy) the Audiodg flips and starting to use 50% sometimes, and it hapends sometimes when i dont use teamspeak, so its Driver problem.
I phoned Creative and they told me on the support that they have no idea and telling the same story = Reainstall drivers etc..

  • XtremeGamer Fatality Pro - Mic skipping/chopping prob

    Hi,
Recently purchased the X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatalty Pro and I'm having a weird issue with the mic. Occasionally the microphone will begin to skip or chop, giving my voice a weird effect. It's usually resolved by changing modes back and forth or doing some random stuff in the sound mixer, although I haven't really found any solid solution. It will come back randomly after a few minutes, or several hours.
I tried the latest drivers, as well as the base drivers included with the cd, and both have the issue. Onboard sound is turned off. Using XP 64. Any ideas?

hi i getting same problem but iam on vista 64 u found out a fixx?

  • X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatality Pro Series & WIN 7 - help !

As mentioned in the subject of this post, I have a Fatality Pro Series Xfi Xgamer PCI card. Everything seems to be working fine in WIN7-64bit except..... I cannot seem to locate a version of the THX Console Launcher. Granted, there isn't much I cannot set through the Audio Control Panel that came with the driver pack but I cannot seem to find any way to get to the equalizer settings that you would normally be able to set thru the THX control panel.
I have been tempted to just download the vista64 version of it but I am not sure if that would work or not,
OH and I am also looking for a WIN7-64 compatible version of the Alchemy application for re-enabling EAX support in older games.
Any ideas, suggestions, links to downloads?

  • Windows Vista Audio Driver Problem

My Windows Vista Drivers that I got for my MacBook Pro from the installation disk have bad audio drivers. The sound on the speakers is too low, and the microphone won't even work. When I talk into the microphone while under Sound Properties in the Recording tab, it shows that the microphone is picking up sound. However, in Ventrilo, and Windows Sound Recorder, there is no sound from my microphone.
I'm using Bootcamp 2.1. When will this problem be fixed? Will Apple release a new bootcamp version to fix this problem?? This is very important to me.
If anyone has fixed this problem, please tell me how you did it.
BTW, the audio device is called "Cirrus Logic CS4206A (AB75)"

    Welcome. Make yourself at home.

  • How do I move my library from Windows Vista hard drive that is now in an external box to a Windows 8 PC?

My old PC operating with Windows Vista failed to reboot, ironically but only coincidentally right after I installed the latest Itunes update a few weeks ago.  It would not get past the DOS screen but getting that far I was at least able to conduct a diagnostics.  The result was Hard Drive failure "BIOS-HD."  I have a new PC with Windows 8 and have installed Itunes there as well.  I removed the Hard Drive from the old computer and placed it in an external drive box.  Fortunately, I can access everything on that drive including Itunes.  How do I move my Itunes Library from my old hard drive in the external box and connected to my new PC, to the hard drive in the new PC?  I see all sorts of instructions on line but none for the specific circumstance of the old hard drive in an external box and moving to a new PC with newer operating system (Windows 8).  Thanks

Aside from checking here, I also Googled for an answer.  Then I faced the problem on the Internet where stuff stays there forever and so I see solutions for previous and maybe obsolete versions of Itunes.  I have no way of knowing if the seemingly sound advice was solved in later versions of Itunes.  In one case there is a great YouTube video with a guy from Circuit City (now out of business).  I found an extensive explanation that made my head explode with all the detail but I did understand enough to see that the solution they precribed has you go onto your new computer and make sure you rename your new hard drive to match the name of the hard drive from your old computer.  That way Itunes on the new computer will be able to find it okay.  These instructions also tell you to downlaod Itunes software on the new computer first and then move two different folders (I think one has the extension of .itl); one folder with the library and the other has the metadata--to the new computer.  Then to confuse things I have seen instructions that also say to just move the files and they don't address the issue with the file names like turringtest said.  Most discouraging is that all of the instructions I have talked about, explain what to do without ever addressing my specific situation where the old hard rive used to reside in an old computer and has an Vistas Operating System that apparently failed and caused me to get a new computer in the first place (I guess I could have loaded a new operating system but not sure if that would have wiped out my extensive files...also irrelevant to the discussion }:) Sorry).  Thanks for your attempt to help.  I appreciate it much.

  • On a MacBook Pro - windows on external drive?

    Hi Everyone,
I'm new to Macs. Looking to buy a MacBook Pro 17 inch, and I am wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to load windows on an extermal disk, firewire 800 or E-sata off an express 34 card?
If this isn't possible, can OS X be loaded on external drives?
I'd rather load windows on external drive than OS X.
    Thanks,
    Chris

You'll need to repair or replace your SuperDrive as that is the only way Windows can be installed (downloading is what you do with files on the Internet). And it must be the built-in SuperDrive. The external one Apple sells for the MacBook Air and 2012 iMac will not work.

  • Installing windows vista load driver problem

I am trying to load Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 32. I follow the bootcamp assistant instructions. I select "Disk 0 Partition 3 BOOTCAMP" as instructed but the "Next" button will not function. I can tab or select between drives, Refresh and Load Driver but cannot get to Next. The Bootcamp instructions say to load drivers after Windows is installed but I can't get Windows installed?? What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Bill

Found my own problem. Had to click on drive options advanced and format. That still didn't work because the disk was too small. Increased disk size and successfully completed install.

  • Can not turn on wireless after Windows vista install driver issue?

    Hi all,
Not sure if this is the right place for the post, if not I apologies in advance.
I have a Compaq Presario C700 (C730EM) on which the hard drive died on me, I brought a new one and installed Windows vista premium from disk (not a backup / recovery disk).
All seems fine however I can not turn on the wireless, the C700 has a wireless button on the top left hard side (which has a red LED when not on). Normally you push this and it turns on (turns LED Blue) but nothing!
I have commented wired and updated windows etc. and have tired to find wireless driver which I guess I’m missing? Not sure if it’s wireless driver missing or a keyboard driver?
After installing a few drivers which I thought where right no joy!
    Can anyone help?
    Cheers

  • Windows Vista Bootcamp Driver Problems

    Hello,
I have installed Windows Vista 32bit through Bootcamp, and the installation went through fine. I inserted my iMac "Mac OS X Install DVD" that came with my imac i bought in august. I tryed to run the program, but it said it was only availible for Windows 7. I could not acsess the internet through Wifi on Windows.
Could anyone give me instructions on how i can get the Windows Vista Drivers without the disk? the drivers, that bootcamp prompts me to install onto a usb, are also for windows 7 only. (ive already tryed this)
    Thanks!

    The hatter,
While running Vista, I navigate to Bootcamp setup.exe (my 10.6.6 disc is in the drive), it quits mid-launch and tells me Windows 7 is required. But Bootcamp user's manual says Vista is ok.
I'm using an 21.5" iMac with 10.6.8. I installed Windows Vista Home Basic 32 bit via bootcamp assistant. Vista is running fine but i can't surf the net. Error msgs say "network adaptor not found." Other forums lead me to believe it is a matter of bootcamp installing the proper drivers so vista can recognize my network hardware. But I can't even run bootcamp in Vista from my snow leopard CD b/c it quits and requires Windows 7.
My firmware is up to date as I checked it manually. According to my boot rom version, I need firmware update 1.9. After downloading and launching, msg tells me it is not compatible with my system. Please advise.

I use Windows a lot more often than I do Mac and I have been trying for 8 months to get My headphones to work while in windows. Last week I finally had some success, next thing I know windows update and my headphones no longer work.

  • Windows Vista: Device driver was not successfully installed.

This is my first post and I apologize in advance if this topic has been brought up before.
The issue is a new one for me -- I've had no problems running my iPhone on Vista until recently when it stopped showing up in my Computer window. Confused, I checked iTunes to see if it was recognized and lo and behold -- no problems there. I plugged it into my Macbook and had no issues there at all, so it's not the phone itself. I did a little Google search and exhausted what I perceive to be at the very least the basic "fixes". I uninstalled the Apple iPhone drivers from Device Manager, unplugged the USB connection after ejecting via iTunes, and then proceeded to reboot. After the boot had completed - I plugged the iPhone back in -- it was picked up and the installation of the drivers began. I had my hopes up and figured it would work, but then I got the following error message: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/xthroughmyeyesx/Capture.jpg
The Apple Mobile Device USB Driver installed successfully without a hitch, the Digital Still Camera part... not so much. If anyone has possible fixes or any information behind this at all, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks already for your time.

I'm having exactly the same problem. I think there are some issues with Vista and Iphone. Please let us know if someone has a solution to this.
