Soundblaster Zx with 2.1 Speakers

Cambridge Soundworks 2.1
I only hear crackling and plops at higher volume.
System is: Asus Striker 2 Extreme Nforce790i ultra, intel q9450 core 2 quad, 4gigs dualchannel ram
Any advise? No setting in the console solves the problem.. Everything connected as recommended.

I seem to remember many having NForce and Creative issues.
I did not however.

  • 5.1 sound in games with Creative Digital-Speakers and Audigy 2

    Hi!
I know that you can't have real 5. sound (only upmix) in games with Creative Digital-Speakers. Is it possible to connect, without the decoder box, the soundcard with the subwoofer (Line-Out -3)? I want to make the cable for LIN_OUT 3 by myself, but which of the 4 pins are for the subwoofer, center front or center rear (ground is clear)?

Go to Knowledge Base article SID3069 then expand the "7. Soundblaster Cards".
It is possible to have 5. digital sound in games if your Creative speaker system has a digital DIN connection.

My ipad2 is no longer working with my Keydex speakers..no volume.  I'm playing music from my free Pandora.

In addition to jmarton's comment. You need to go through the process of setting up the Console One mount directory where all your GroupWise MTA and POA files have been mounted for access by NCO. Unlike NCO on Windows, NCO on Linux has no idea about UNC paths. So you need to create the exepected set of mount points for NCO so it can access them. Without these, it will be as if you have no domains.... But if you have NO groupwise menu options, including Create New GW System, etc. That does point at the plugins as being the issue.
You can look in the About-->Plugins IIRC to see if they are showing up. You can start NCO with debugging to see if it struggles, and where. I believe the NCO startup options would be --debug --windowout [ --showhiddenobjects ] or some combination thereof.

  • Models with Built in Speakers

It seems that the only iPod with built in speakers is the iPod Touch. Is this correct?

If you want a speaker you either have to go for the iPod touch (all generations except the 1st gen) or the 5th generation iPod nano. (only the 5th gen includes a speaker - this model was sold from 2009 - 2010.)

  • Can I connect a monitor with built in speakers to my macbook air?

Can I connect a monitor with built-in speakers to my macbook air?  What would you suggest in the 22" - 24" size for everyday use?

If you say that there is built in speakers. Most probably the connection is HDMi. You will need an adapter to connect the MacBook Air to the monitor through HDMI, at the same time, the adapter needs to support video and AUDIO.

Do you mean a restore to factory settings?. If so did you set up as new or restore from back up afterwards?

  • Pavillion Laptop with Windows 7 - Speakers have stopped working but headphones do!

    Hello
I have a Pavilion dv6 Notebook, with an AMD A8-3500M APU and Radeon HD Graphics card.  It is a Windows 7 64 bit system and was purchased in october of 2011
The speakers on my laptop have suddenly stopped working, but external speakers continue to function.  I have tried the windows troubleshooter, resetting defaults on playback devices, and updating drivers both through the device manager and through HP Recovery manager.  I have tried uninstalling and re-installing drivers, and a hard reset ofthe computer (unplugging all devices and power sources, waiting and restarting).  I have tried System Restore to restore the system to a date before the problem.  None of these have helped.  Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi there @Rob5
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.
I understand that you are having problems with the notebook speakers., and I am happy to help with this. From all the trouble shooting you have described it sounds like it may be that the speakers themselves may have gone bad, or the connection is loose.
Before we look at the possible physical problem, take a look through this page first, just in case there is something you have not yet tried.
No Sound from the Speakers (Windows 7)
If you are still getting now sound, then take a look through page 62 of 137 in this guide:
HP Pavilion dv6 Entertainment PC - Maintenance and Service Guide
That page shows how to replace the speaker assembly and the relevant part number, but before going that route, I would suggest just disconnecting and reconnecting the speakers, in case it is just a bad connection. Over time a connector can work itself loose. Just doing that may fix the problem. If not then you can call our technical support at 800-474-6836. After i installed iTunes 7, the muscic from my library was only playing in 2.1. Does anyone know how to get sound coming out of all my speakers (mine are 5.1). I have quicktime set at 48khz, 16bit, and 5.1, but i still only get music as though it was set at 2.1. I miss having surround sound so please if anyone knows anything about this i would appreciate it. My soundcard is the soundblaster audigy 2 ZS

I am having more or less the same problems as you guys. Currently I use a soundblaster audigy 4 with "CMSS 3D" function ... it used to work with itunes but started to get all weird with the 7.0 update. If nobody knows how to fix this I will have to use 6.xx again :/
I'd be grateful for any advice as well,

  • Urgent Help With 5.1 Speakers

    Hi,
Ok I just went and bought the Creative Soundblaster Audigy souncard and also bought the Creative Inspire A500 5.1 speakers too.
Now I have installed everything and plugged it all in, but whats annoying me is that you can only here the front 2 speakers and the woofer, the two rear and center speakers are getting no noise from them when I play my music etc.
Can someone please help me fix this?
Its annoying me cause I had this problem when I have a pair of 5.1 Artec Lansing speakers but got the same problem, so I thought ill buy Creative speakers to match to sort the problem but its still doing it, so I dont wanna loose faith in Creative.
    Thanks,
    Rowan

Can someone please help me with this?

Hmmm, Sorry it didn't work for ya, Have you tried headphones plugged into the port next to Digital DIN, See if you have any sound at all?**bleep** fine speakers these DTT3500 but they sure are a biaaatch to get working, Almost too complicated with all the features, I had a lot of issues in XP also with these, Always had to set them up in?windows sound settings or change speaker modes in order to get sound from ALL speakers in some games. Hopefully Creative will release some updated drivers soon for us Vista users.Cheers,Macca
