Soundbooth 1.0 Not Acceptable Audition Replacement
I recently upgraded from Production Studio CS2 to the CS3 version, and I have to ask, knowing how important sound is to a filmmaker, why the main sound editing application in Production Studio was DOWNGRADED from CS2 to CS3? There are so many restrictions and lack of functionality compared to Audition and other staple sound editors that it is truly ridiculous. Why did we pay $1200 for a professional film studio editing package with subpar sound editing capabilities?
I keep reading forum thread responses that make statements such as We didnt get multi-track editing, or this or that, into Soundbooth 1.0, but we expect to have it in 2.0. Are you kidding? I just paid $1200 for a downgrade to sound editing software, and I have to wait until CS4 and pay another $1200 just to get the functionality that was in CS2 and lost in CS3? The current version of Soundbooth is too limited and not capable of offering sound editing needed in truly professional filmmaking.
I am steamed to hell about this, and I want to know what Adobe plans to do to satisfy their customers.
Thanks Bill, you nailed it. Production Studio CS3 costs the same as the CS2 version, yet the new sound editing software (Soundbooth replacing Audition) is horribly lacking in comparison.
It is widely known that amateur filmmakers disregard sound when it comes to movie making because they do not understand how important the role of sound is to the movie making process and for the viewer of the final movie. Unfortunately, with Adobe downgrading their filmmaking studio packages sound software from Audition to Soundbooth, they proved that they do not understand, or are ignoring, the needs of professional filmmakers, and thus moved their filmmaking studio software suite from a professional level to that of an amateur/intermediate level.
Furthermore, by unnecessarily creating two sound editing applications and including the lesser of the two into the $1200 filmmaking software suite and the better of the two as a standalone application, they are making it blatantly aware to us consumers that they care little about the true needs of filmmakers and care more about maximizing their profits. Those of us professional filmmakers who upgraded to CS3 and need multi-track audio editing, for example, are forced to now purchase additional sound software outside of our $1200 studio suite an application that was a member of this same suite in CS2 but is now a separate, profit earning stand-alone product in CS3.
It is sickening to see a company in which we have invested so much hope and money, while in the midst of better competition such as FCP and Avid, abandon the needs of their true customers for the almighty dollar. This is no longer acceptable, and I want compensation. You are selling the Premier Production Studio CS3 at the same price as the CS2 Studio, yet you have removed the much needed and fully functional Audition software and replaced it with a beta version of an extremely limited sound application called Soundbooth. I purchased the CS2 Studio for $1200 and upgraded to the CS3 Studio, and in light of how Adobe has jerked its customers around, I want a credit to my account for the cost of Audition CS3, which SHOULD have been in the CS3 Studio upgrade but was replaced by a beta piece of crap.
Adobe, it is time you stop following in the footsteps of greedy, money-grubbing A-hole corporations for pure profits, and remember who your clientele are. Either credit the cost of Audition CS3 to all Production Studio CS3 owners, or offer Audition CS3 as a free software add-on to us Production Studio CS3.
Prove to us that you are a company worth continuing investing in, and that we should spend another $800-1200 next year for CS4! If you cannot re-add Audition into the Production Studio, there is other software of similar cost that offers much more, such as Avid and FCP, for us professional filmmakers.

HP pavilion G6 Recovery manager not accepting restore OS after replacement of motherboard
Hi,
My laptop is HP pavilion G6 with WIN 8 OS.
Recently my laptop motherboard, processor, Hard disc were replaced with another mother board and upgraded processor from AMD A4 to AMD A8 and hard disk as well due to some technical problems araised in the laptop. But these changes made by Reliance digital through HP service only. Unfortunately they had installed an unlicensed win 8 version and they said that my recovery DVDs won't work with existing hardware changes. Even though i am trying to installing the previos win 8 OS from recovery DVDs, HP recovery manager is not accepting to install Orginal Win 8. Can any one solve this issue to restore my old original OS from recovery DVDs or suggest me for the best.
Thanks in advance,
Santosh AYes, before Windows logo. At the first screen after powering on the machine tap Esc to bring up the Menu- same screen where you use Esc + F11 for Recovery.

I am trying to re-install CS3 after having to replace my Hard drive, but it will not accept my serial #. How can I get it to allow me to continue using my software?
If you had registered your CS3, you can get the serial number from your Adobe account when you log in through the Adobe corporate web site. Just go to My Products to find it in your account.
Adobe applications show you a truncated s/n to discourage software piracy. Legitimate Adobe s/ns have 24 digits. -
I spend good money for my iPhone i have the iPhone 5 with the new charger slot which is smaller. I have been through at least 3 charging cords and this is not acceptable to me. i never had a problem with this on my older phone. apple needs to correct this and reimburse me for this cord.
Charging cords are covered by the iPhone warranty or their own warranty
if puchased separately. Take your iPhone and the cords to your local
Apple store for evaluation and possible replacement. -
My mid 2010 MacBook Pro 15 inch unibody battery will not accept a charge
HI there one and all!
My mid 2010 MacBook Pro 15" unibody laptop will not accept a normal charge using the mag safe cord. I have replaced the original battery with a factory new replacement, but I still have the same results.
The computer powers up and runs only with the mag safe cord attached and when shut down, does not switch from green to orange to indicate the charging mode.
Can anyone be of assistance or perhaps has had a similar issue? Thanks in advance to anyone for their insight and help. If it makes a difference, my computer information is as follows: MacBook Pro 15", Mid 2010
Processor 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory. 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics. Intel HD Graphics 288 MB
Serial number. W80---------------
Software OS X 10.9.4 (13E28)Please find "System Information" in this folder path---Applications > Utilities---and launch it. When it opens, find "Power" in the left-hand contents pane and click it to get something like this in teh main pane:
Copy everything in the "Battery Information" and copy/paste it here. The number values in that report may help us diagnose what is happening.
Also, did you buy this battery directly from Apple or from another source. There are an increasing number of reports showing up that suggests some counterfeit batteries being sold. -

I get ora-00900 invalid sql statement
can somebody explain why this happens
ThanksI agree with jan and anthony. Your post is too long and ill-formatted. However here's my understanding of your problem (with examples though slightly different ones).
1- I have a function that returns number of records in a any given table.
1 CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION get_count(p_table varchar2)
2 RETURN NUMBER IS
3 v_cnt number;
4 BEGIN
5 EXECUTE IMMEDIATE('SELECT count(*) FROM '||p_table) INTO v_cnt;
6 RETURN v_cnt;
7* END;
SQL> /
Function created.
SQL> SELECT get_count('emp')
2 FROM dual
3 /
GET_COUNT('EMP')
14
2- I decide to move the statement to a database table and recreate my function.
SQL> CREATE TABLE test
2 (stmt varchar2(2000))
3 /
Table created.
SQL> INSERT INTO test
2 VALUES('SELECT count(*) FROM p_table');
1 row created.
SQL> CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION get_count(p_table varchar2)
2 RETURN NUMBER IS
3 v_cnt number;
4 v_stmt varchar2(4000);
5 BEGIN
6 SELECT stmt INTO v_stmt
7 FROM test;
8 EXECUTE IMMEDIATE(v_stmt) INTO v_cnt;
9 RETURN v_cnt;
10 END;
11 /
Function created.
SQL> SELECT get_count('emp')
2 FROM dual
3 /
SELECT get_count('emp')
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
ORA-06512: at "SCOTT.GET_COUNT", line 8
ORA-06512: at line 1
--p_table in the column is a string and has nothing to do with p_table parameter in the function. And since there's no p_table table in my schema function returns error on execution. I suppose this is what you mean by "sql statement in a table not accepting variable"
3- I rectify the problem by recreating the function.
1 CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION get_count(p_table varchar2)
2 RETURN NUMBER IS
3 v_cnt number;
4 v_stmt varchar2(4000);
5 BEGIN
6 SELECT replace(stmt,'p_table',p_table) INTO v_stmt
7 FROM test;
8 EXECUTE IMMEDIATE(v_stmt) INTO v_cnt;
9 RETURN v_cnt;
10* END;
SQL> /
Function created.
SQL> SELECT get_count('emp')
2 FROM dual
3 /
GET_COUNT('EMP')
14
Hope this gives you some idea.-----------------------

Can't mount external HDD? "usb 1-1: Device not accepting address"
I just bought a Medion HDDRIVE2GO (Full Speed) from Aldi, and at first when I plugged it in, everything went fine (well, I thought so). Appearently it had some errors with HAL not being able to read the HDD (error name="(unset)").
I gave it a reboot, and now it does not work at all! In dmesg, I have this output (the bottom is the most important I guess)

"rmmod ehci_hcd" made it work for some of these guys Which one of them explains It's a data speed issue. Cables.., 2.0 1.0, that sort of things. Read it, I bet you'll get more out of it, It's old though.
Try removing the module, plugging the drive, check dmesg, and mount manually.

could router WiFi be defective if it will not accept your password saying it is incorrect it is 2 yrs old.
The router could be defective but if you are having WiFi problems it is necessary to isolate whether the problem is with your network or your iPad. Note: Do NOT consider your network to be blameless if some other devices can connect to it.
First, test your iPad on some other networks: a friends, Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, etc.
If it works well there then the problem is with your network. Try restarting your router by removing power for 30 seconds. If that does not help check for a firmware update for your router. If none exists which corrects the problem consider replacing the router.
If your iPad does not function well on other networks it possibly has a hardware problem. Contact Apple Support or visit an Apple store for evaluation. They can provide a replacement if your iPad is bad.
If you need more help please give the make, model, and version of your WiFi router and how you have it configured. -
Bought and paid for CS4 Premium, Acrobat Pro not accepting serial #
My Acrobat Pro application, part of the CS4 Design Premium, will not accept the same serial I used for my other Adobe applications.
Any solutions beyond tossing two hours of my life in a phone call to Adobe India Customer Service? I have had one good experience using Adobe CS out of five, but really it takes hours to get someone who is helpful. Adobe needs to address this brutal customer in need situation.
Apple buys Adobe, everything is fixed.
Solutions? Beyond waiting for Jobs to mount a take over?I should add, I did install the complete CS4 Design Premium package in mid November 09. Worked flawlessly, until yesterday that is.
After some hours on the phone with Adobe customer service in India, finally the serial question was solved for all applications BUT Acrobat Pro. The tech said the serial number issue was caused by unknown forces. Odd, Adobe has a special number for serials not being accepted. It is a 1-800 number, I used it. I believe it is an Adobe made issue to keep pirated software out of the loop.
The tech said he would call me back in thirty minutes to confirm all applications were in perfect working order. I played with the entire group and AP was the dog of the bunch.
The tech never called back to check on me. That was nearly 24 hours ago. I anticipated this would be the poor result from Adobe.
I suspect I will need to devote another hour or so in Adobe Hell India Zone for a fix. The customer service is something which turns me off all Adobe products. When I find replacements for the software I will jump at the chance. -
I cannot locate my original SN fron Aperature 2. I have the Aperature 3 upgrade SN but that apparently is not acceptable. Help!
Contact Apple and ask for a "Replacement Serial Number".
You will need to provide a proof of purchase:

Acrobat will not accept license code after installing cs4 premium upgrade
We just upgraded to CS4 premium, from CS3 premium. In doing so acrobat replaced Acrobat 8 pro with Acrobat 9 pro.
All our tools only work in Acrobat 8 pro, so we unistalled the Acrobat 9 pro and the software will not accept the keys from the product boxes that was used to install the software. the 30 day trial period comes up where you can enter a number or buy "version 9".
Is there anything special to fix this mess that anyone has found?
We are a printing company and use tools from enfocus, quite, and other special plugins that only support up to version 8?
Before we totally uninstall CS4 premium we wanted to see if anyone else has had this issuse or knows who to get with at Adobe to get a key that will work for the licensed software.
