Soundbooth creates a gap in mp3 files

I've listened to these original files over and over in Quicktime and iTunes and there is no gap. After opening in SB (CS4) there is now a gap and  a  repeating segment: http://96.0.181.107/soundbooth.jpg
Playing and listening to the mp3 in SB, there is clearly now  a gap and repeat segment (marker 3.2)
Tried just deleting the gap but I don't know how to match up the repeating section (SB beginner)
What gives? Why is SB creating this gap in some files (not all)  and how to avoid it?
OS 10.8.5 | 2 2.66Ghz dual core intel xeon | Soundbooth CS4

This is a random anomaly. I used to see it on my MacBook running Snow Leopard and with CS4 and CS5. I never was able to dstermine a cause, but I always worked with "scratch files" so when it happened, I could go back to the original and start over. I haven't seen it yet with Audition, but I haven't done nearly as much editing with Audition as I did with Soundbooth.

  • I would like to create a list of MP3 files to download from a MUSE web site.

I have the honour of creating web site for our church.
We would like to publish the ministers sermons on the web (audio files to download).
How do I do this in Muse, or is it not possible and should use another web site creating software to do this?
Is there an add-on which I could purchase which would help?
    Any help would be appreciated
    Ossydoc

    Hi Ossydoc,
You can use Muse to create such a website. All you need to do is, create links in Muse for the sermons and select  " link to File " in the hyperlink option and link to those Mp3 files.
Please refer to this screenshot :- http://prntscr.com/4xvdup
Now, when you publish your site,  Muse would automatically upload those files onto the server and the users would then be able to listen as well as download those sermons using the links on your site.
    Hope this helps

  • How do I create custom ringtones from mp3 files in itunes 11?

I've upgraded to the iPhone 5 from Blackberry, and I have several custom mp3 ringtones I would like to assign... and can't.  How do I do this in iTunes 11?

You would have sorted it out by now.
    Anyway,
    1. Go to EDIT =>REFFERENCE
    2. Under General, tick TONES, then you will be able to see TONES folder...
To create ring tone from mp3.
    1. Make sure your mp3 file playback duration is about 30 sec or less.
    2. Add it to your library as you do with music.
    3. Under MUSIC folder, select SONGS
    4. Find the mp3 file you want for ringtone, right click it and find CREATE AAC VERSION
    5. OPEN window explorer, browse to MY DOCUMENTS/MY MUSICS (XP) or Library/my music (Win 7), there should be iTunes folder in there, find the mp3 file... and change the file extension from [.m4a] into [.m4r]
    6. Back to iTunes, add [filename.m4r]
Now you should have rinetone under TONES folder in  your iTunes.

  • Create an audiobook from MP3 files?

    Hi all,
I've just bought a couple of Audiobooks from Buzzymedia. These come on a CD as multiple MP3 files.
Is there any way to turn these into one or two audiobooks rather than loads of mp3 files that I have to sync and make sure are played in the right order ?

Thanks, but that's not going to solve this for me I'm afraid.
The CD's I've got just contain MP3s, so there's no way to rip them afresh. As for just joining the tracks, the appendix only deals with doing this with WAV files, and the only software it mentions is for Windows, which I don't have access to

  • Create a new MP3 file from an existing AIFF or MPEG file

The iTunes 9 on my old Mac allows me to create an MP3 version of a song track in the Advanced pull-down menu. The iTunes 10 on my new iMac only allows me to create an AIFF file in Advanced. Is there a way to make these conversions in iTunes 10? I want to be able to create a CD using MP3 files (of classical music NOT purchased from the iTunes store). Thanks for advice.

The conversion setting in the Advanced menu reflects the Import Setting in iTunes > Preferences > General. Change the Import Setting to MP3 and the Advanced menu will also change to MP3. When you have finished your conversions, reset the Import Setting to the format you prefer.

  • Importing but will not make it an mp3 file

I am new to iTunes. I don't like it. I want to import a AIF file and have it convert it to a mp3. I went into advanced preferences>importing and have Import using:mp3 encoder. I then click Add to Library and it just makes a copy of the AIF file in my iTunes folder. I also tried Import but it just makes a copy. How do I make it create a mp3 version of the AIF file? What am I doing wrong?

OK first off the importing option in the preferences is for when you import stuff off of CDs. Importing will read in and convert your CD tracks. The "ADD" command is different from the Import command and does exactly what is says, which is adds the file to iTunes. No conversion will be done.
But to convert is easy. Since you already have preference in iTunes set to MP3, all you have to do is go to the AIFF files in your library, right click on them and pick the "Convert to MP3" command. This will create a new converted MP3 file of your original. You can now delete the original AIFF file if you wish.
Note: You can do this on a bunch of songs at once. Highlight a bunch of AIFF songs, right click and pick "Convert to MP3" and the whole bunch will be converted (one by one).

  • ITunes will no longer play nor add to the library any mp3 files which I have created by conversion from a wav file.

I am running iTunes 10 on XP Pro and it will no longer play those mp3 files which I have created by conversion from wav files.  I tried to delete some from the library and then re-add them but iTunes will not add them back to the library.
Can anyone help solve this, please?

Back up your purchased music before you upgrade, I've read at least 5 cases where purchased music has just gone.....missing.
That is not supposed to happen, didn't happen to me or thousnds of other iTunes users, but you don't want to be the 6th person, do you?
There are two things to try before you upgrade:

  • How do you create a save as default folder for MP3 files used Captivate text to audio voices files?

How do you create a save as default folder for MP3 files used Captivate text to audio voices files?

    Hi Ed
Thank you for contacting me, however I already know how to save text to
audio files via timeline using the Export feature.
So my question was not entirely clear and I apologize for that.  To explain
further, whenever I save a text to audio file, captivate takes me to a
default save as folder where I then have browse back to my production
folder where I am keeping all my Txt to Aud files.  This is very tedious
process when you have alot of files to save.  So my question was is there a
way to configure captivate so I can make my production folder the default
file for whenever I save a Txt to Audio file through Export feature that
the system automatically takes me to that production folder, and I am
spared the long tedious process of saving the file manually to the
    prodcution folder I want.
I have copy the pathway to the production folder in the URL filed in the
Save As dialoge box and that workaround as cut the work down but I still
have to paste that URL field to point the file to the right folder. So it
would be nice if I could do everything automatically.  Microsoft makes this
capability in their MS Office applications, so I was thinking Adobe might
do the same thing.  Your help with this would be appreicated,
    Thanks

  • After mixing a project i select bounce and burn the disc that is burned plays on any cd player but when i try to burn the wav or mp3 file that was created the resulting disc will only play in a computer this also happens with video projects help please

after mixing a project i select bounce and burn the disc that is burned plays on any cd player but when i try to burn the wav or mp3 file that was created the resulting disc will only play in a computer this also happens with video projects help please are there any settings i need to alter as it seems the wav or mp3 file i ceated is being converted to a data file somewhere between the folder and disc drive

Same thing for a movie file.. If you want to play back the movie via a DVD and a DVD player you must create a Movie DVD  and not just burn files to a data DVD... as Data DVDs are just storage devices for files and therefore will only work with computers...
Movie DVDs are special formats that include things like menus and special file formats.. so they can playback via a DVD Player...
You will need a 3rd party DVD Burning app like Toast which is what i actually use.... or the more popular DVD Creator app...to create and then burn a Movie DVD that will playback on a DVD Player....

  • Creating Audiobooks with Chapter Divisions from MP3 files.

I can create a plain old audiobook file from mp3's using this program...
    http://www.freeipodsoftware.com/
I have several unabridged books that have one 15-20 min mp3 file per chapter. I have heard that i want to keep audiobook file sizes below 320MB for stability reasons, so i've been breaking up the audiobooks to have 8-15 chapters per file, which yields about 5 audiobook files per book. My problem is that sometimes i want to skip a whole chapter. The program i listed above doesn't have the capability to insert chapter bookmarks/divisions.
Can someone please provide instructions or a link that shows how to take mp3 files that have 1 chapter per file, and turn them into audiobook files that have the appropriate file size for stability/quality and chapter divisions/bookmarks that i can skip to within each file?

That is used to Import from CD and also works when converting songs in iTunes.
You can convert directly when adding songs to iTunes.
If you look under the Advanced menu, there is an option to Create AAC {or whatever is set in Import settings}. This is used (as mentioned above) when converting songs in iTunes.
If you hold {Option on a Mac, not sure what it is on Windows - maybe alt}, you can select it and then select a file/folder on the HD.
This will import the songs into the library and convert them directly to the selected format. This is instead of adding the files, then converting them then deleting the original file.
Since each mp3 is a chapter, can iTunes combine multiple files/chapters into a single larger file?
No. As I noted above, I do not know of any Windows programs to do this. There are a few available for Mac.

    Hi,
Capturing from by Canon XH-A1 works fine.
Just the files that were created have the extension *.MP3
When you change this extension to *.mpeg afterwards, it works properly.
    Question:
How to capture in *.mpeg directly? And not in that akward false mp3?
    Thanks in advance

  • Creating Menu to navigate and play (very) numerous short MP3 files

Hi, I have a project for an English language school where I have burned an MP3 "jukebox" containing many short MP3 files. I would like to create a DVD navigation menu with two layers 1) To access a particular Language level and 2) to then choose a short listening exercise. Does anyone have any advice on how best to do this. Thanks

Firstly, you do not want to be using MP3 as your source audio format.
You should be using either Dolby Digital, or 16/48 PCM WAV.
MP3 will almost certainly be the wrong sample rate, and is already heavily compressed - and recompressing to Dolby Digital in Encore is going to introduce artifacts.
I'd go back to your source Audio files & start over - seriously.
Any listening exercise created with MP3 that gets retranscoded is going to be a waste of time IMHO.
