Soundbooth CS4 Installation Problem
I recently purchased a copy of Soundbooth CS4, which I just tried to install. When I loaded the disc and the installation screen came up, I clicked on the install Aodbe Soundbooth button and waited several minutes and nothing happened. I checked the Task Manager and the setup process was indeed running.
I ended the process and tried to run the setup several times manually by going to the Start up menu ... choosing run and navigating to Setup.exe from the disc and still the same problem.
I am running Windows XP Media Center Edition ... Service Pack 3. Please help!!! I need to use this software on a project right away.
Well, there's a few things we can check that might help figure out where it's failing.
If you open Windows Explorer/My Computer and navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\ then you should hopefully see at least one, possibly several, compressed log files named something like "Adobe Soundbooth CS4 2 07-08-2009.log.gz"
If you do see one, please e-mail it as an attachment to [email protected] and I'll see if I can find any obvious reason for the failure. We can continue troubleshooting from there.

CS4 Installation Problem on Mac - Error 2
I have tried for several hours to make the new install of Adobe CS4 work. The Lightroom2 install worked fine. Background: I have a macbook pro, OS/X 10.5.7, enough avail disk space. I had a trial version of LR2 and full CS2. I have done the following: checked "repair permissions" - an OS/X utility that interfered with operating Capture NX a couple years ago, so I added that step. I have uninstalled every Adobe application, using Clean Script 3 and Clean Script 4. I have tried to install CS4 in a separate user account, which has since been deleted, and again both Clean Scripts have been run. I have restarted my computer and downloaded a fresh version of CS4. I have tired to install it as a Tial version instead of an upgrade, also. It NEARLY installs, but at the very end of the install bar, after Bridge and before finishing Photoshop installation, I get a big red X and an error and find it is Error 2. The Adobe support pdf's have not helped, including those referenced by their little support bot.
Have spent a couple hours with Adobe Support, also. No one knows what Error 2 means.
Also, the "support" person closed my case as though it had been resolved - said he would call me back in one hour and 2ours 45 minutes later had not called back. He CLOSED the case, wasting my time and lying to me.I have just committed the cardinal sin of allowing my daughter to install Adobe CS4 Web Premium on my new Mac Pro 2.26 8 Core.
I use this computer for pro music composition, and until I allowed my daughter to talk me into letting her use it for Adobe Web Premium (24" Apple screen, she has a PC laptop), it was strictly a no fly zone.
My worst fears were realized.
Neither she, nor I, can't get a clean install. Each attempt is greeted by a 'Successful but with Errors' or some such garbage. I have submitted a support requerst but have had no reply.
The new Mac died. Apple replaced it with a new computer under Applecare Warranty, and a new hard disk, but still the problem remains.
I've tried a new partition; nope.

I tried to download the Adobe Support Advisor, but it would not download. I have erased the registration, followed the instructions to the letter.
Nothing.
Adobe help in Australia were polite but did not resolve the problem. I called again and was greeted by a call centre somewhere in the Third World by someone who knew less about computers that they did about Adobe products. This poor person probably has a good job within his impoverished community, but undoubtedly paid a pittance (or why would Adobe set up a Call Centre in India), which make s it really hard to vent my frustrations without appearing racist.
I am attempting to take over the problem as there is no way a seventeen year old girl could negotiate this. I can't.
Has anybody any clues?
Appreciate any help. I can't access my daughter's email which the product is registered through at Adobe, as it is on her school computer which is connected through the school server, but my email is [email protected].

Hello everyone,
I hope you may be able to help me! I bought a copy of Creative Suite 4 Student Edition yesterday, and on attempting to install it today, my mac will not even register there is a disc in the drive. I have recently upgraded my mac to snow leopard, and I see from the Adobe site that there shouldn't be any problems. It just seems odd that my mac isn't even picking up anything from the disc, it makes a couple of unhealthy noises then ejects them.
Can anyone help? I apologise if that doesn't make sense, I'm quite new to this...I am having the same problem. I installed Snow Leopard. Right after, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, and other programs stopped working, gave an error message when I tried opening them and said I needed to reinstall the programs. So, I went through the "adobe uninstall" procedures as well as the script uninstall they offer on the adobe website.
After doing this, I inserted the Adobe CS4 Master Install discs and they just spun and spun. Finally mine showed the icon, but when I clicked for it to install, it just spun and spun and never opened the installer. I tried it for about and hour.
My friend has the Adobe CS4 Web edition, so I tried his thinking mine might be bad or had a scratch somehow. But, his did the same. I am really in a mess right now because I use all of these program for my web design business and now I have nothing and have three projects due this week. ARRGGHHHH!!!!! I hope someone can help.

CS4 installation problems...novice
Hi, all. I just purchased a student edition of Photoshop CS4 to begin using for a Photoshop class. As luck would have it I'm unable to install it after downloading the installer with the following error message: Installation failed. One or more required components of Adobe Photoshop CS4 failed to install correctly.
After installing the Support Advisor, it came up with the following message: Issue no: 18312. Unable to copy a file onto the machine when installing the Adobe Creative Suite 4 product. After accessing the provided Knowledge Base link, I followed their directions by uninstalling Photoshop and running some sort of cleanup utility which didn't seem to do anything. I've repeated this about four or five times.
If anyone can offer some advice I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm pretty much at a loss as to how to solve this. Also I'm on Mac OSX 10.5.8, if that helps.

CS4 Installation problems - live messenger

I am trying to install CS4 Web Premium Student Edition on a Windows 7 machine.
The installation keeps continually failing because the installer reports that Windows Live Messenger is running and I need to close it before I can continue.Despite closing this application using Windows Task Manager am still receiving this alert and hence can't get any further and so have to abort the installation.

Soundbooth CS4 startup problem
Hi!
I have a strange problem when I try to start my Soundbooth.
It crashes every freakin' time before it even starts.
That start screen shows always the same thing before crash.
When the Soundbooth is starting it will show at the some point
that it's "loading importerQT.bundle", then it just freezes and
crashes.
What should I do?
I'm running Leopard (Mac OS X v. 10.5.6)
Machine: Mac Pro, Dual-Core Intel Xeon 2.66 GHz

I just tried that "shift-key thing" and it didn´t work. Soundbooth
is trying to start, but when it tries to load that ImporterQT.bundle
Soundbooth just crashes.
Photoshop, illustrator and evertything else is working just fine.
The Soundbooth is the only one witch does't work. And I haven't updated
anything except today. Whole CS4 updated everything, but the Soundbooth is still having that same problem. And I also tried to update my soundbooth with that "soundbooth_leopard_update.dmg" but it says that "the update program doesn't find the right path of the product" or something? I have Finnish language system and that is propably the reason for that error message. I have seen that same thing earlier also with some other softwares.

Photoshop cs4 installation problems
hi im having big problems getting Photoshop on and off of my mac book iv tried to uninstall it (i did it complete wrong by dragging and dropping it in to the trash i now know that’s not the way) iv put a post on the mac web site and was told to do this,
"You won't be able to install CS4 until is is properly uninstalled. In the Utilities folder, you'll find the folder "Adobe Installers". There will be an alias in there named per the Adobe software you installed. Double click that to launch it and start the uninstall process. You'll get a list of software you can put check boxes in to remove from the hard drive. There's also a Select All button at the top.
This may or may not work since you already manually removed some of the items the uninstaller will be looking for. If it appears to finish, then try installing PS CS4 again.
The blunt approach is to use Adobe's Clean Script tool. This will remove anything to do with any piece of CS4 files from the hard drive. You will definitely be able to reinstall after running it. Be aware though that it will remove ALL CS4 software on the hard drive. InDesign, Flash Pro, Photoshop, etc. You don't get to pick and choose."
non of this worked and when i put the disk in it brings up the setup program but wont accept the serial number and when i try to install the trial version it asks for the disk to be inserted which is all ready in the disk tray iv got no idea what to do can any one help me pleaseany one ????

When i install the trial for photoshop cs4, i get this message: "Session has dependencies that cannot be satisfied. The installer database is invalid: please re-install the product from the original media."
I'm using Vista and have all the system requirements. I've even download it off another site and uninstalled Photoshop CS2 but it still doesn't work. Any help will be greatly appreciated!Use the CS4 Clean Utility from the support pages. Furthermore, since it will give you the MS Installer Cleanup Utility, you need to use that tool to unregister any instances of Adobe Setup 2.0. Once that's done, try again. If it still doesn't work, repeat the cleaning and manually delete a file called caps.db in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\caps. be warned, though, this will disable any uninstall functionality for Adobe programs and will also disable the automatic updates - with the database gone, there is no frame of reference.

Dreamweaver CS4 installation problem (hang)
Hi guys,
I have tried to install DW CS4 or CS3 by doing all the different steps suggested:
- firewall and antivirus stopped,
- editing ContainerProxy.js,
- registry cleaning,
- uninstall all Adobe products,
- run Setup from ...\Adobe\Installers\435a6af7459cb02a9c1138113a26e93 for the CS3 version,
- run it with several windows installer version,
- using the CS3 and the CS4 cleaner, etc.
But the setup process always hangs in the task manager forever (the CS3 version consuming 10MB RAM and the CS3 with 30MB).
For the CS4 version neither the temp installer folder is created.
Any other desperated action, please?

Photoshop CS4 installation problem
I have bought CS4 and installed it successfully. I now have the upgrade disc to CS4 extended (bought from Adobe). When I run the disc, it offers to install CS4 NOT extended. When i install...i have the basic program ...not extended. Why?. I tried uninstalling the original version and re-installing from the disc...original version still on my computer.
I uninstalled, re-installed a trial version of cs4 extended from the web..it would only acccept the serial number from CS4 and NOT my extended box...
I cannot seem to get extended onto my computer! any ideas?The old version must be deactivated and uninstalled. Extended features are solely differentiated by the serial. If your PS Standard is part of a suite, then the whole suite must be upgraded, e.g. Design Standard to Design Premium, not just Photoshop. Only one serial can be valid at any one time, so there is no such thing as having a suite and a separate PS extended on the same system.

CS4 MASTER COLLECTION installation problem on VISTA SP1

CS4 programs crash at Startup so I unistalled it plus CS4Clease and MS Clean Installer as advised in forums.

I have searched the forums endlessly with no avail.
Would a vista update have stopped CS4 from recognising or identifing the OS, thus causing the program to initially crash?

Photoshop CS4 installation path problem
i having installation problem after i restore my pc, where i have install it normally before window restore. after install it doesnt work at all.
It set the installation path to common files folder, i have try uninstall all and reinstall it but still cannot modify the installation path.
Please tell me how to fix it?By Fresh install i mean that Uninstall the existing Photoshop CS4 application through Windows Add/Remove Programs and install again through the Photoshop CS4 installer.Do inform if this works for you.

Soundbooth CS4 Problem with Quicktime MOV files
I know that Soundbooth CS4 should support Quicktime MOV files but I just get a placeholder image and the video doesn't play. What should I do? I don't know if it is an issue with Quicktime or with Soundbooth.

BruceIt's probably an incompatible codec in the QT. If the audio isn't AC3 and on a separate track from the video this can happen. There are still a few applications out there that will write the audio into the video track, and QT will still play it that way.
Are you attempting to edit video with Soundbooth?
If you are it's not a good idea.
You really should be using Premiere or Efter Effects to edit video, and leave Soundbooth for audio work.
If you have QT Pro, try extracting the audio from the MOV and save THAT as an MOV of just the audio. SB should have no problem opening that/ -
Playback problems in Soundbooth CS4 for Mac
I've seen this posted an number of times with a number of solutions. Trust me, I've tried everything that Adobe and, you, my fellow Adobe users have recommended.
My problem: the playback function in Soundbooth (and Premiere) plays for a second, then returns to the initial position.
Recommendations I've tried:
• Use the admin to set new permissions for the program.--> I'm the only person using my laptop, and the only admin. Didn't work.
• Opened Soundbooth>Preferences...>Audio Hardware>Select I/O as default.-->Yes, I kept getting that error message too, and the same when I selected an input.
• Your_HD>Library>Preferences>com.apple.audioAggregate... & whatever else.plist-->Neither of these files exist on my computer. I've looked everywhere including the contents of hidden files. Every XML document I opened in Textmate to see if they're coded for Soundbooth audio. Nothing!
• Uninstalled/reinstalled-->That didn't work! Even ran a code to delete all my Norton anti-virus peripherals to ensure there wasn't a conflict during install.
The only catch: Last week Soundbooth and Premiere CS4 worked fine. Friday my HD crashed and I had it replaced through Apple Care Protection. I was completely up on all my downloads and software upgrades, including OS 10.6.3. which, like most of you, I've found major incompatibility issues too. Monday I did the reinstall of everything, and now these programs don't work.
I'm exhausted and looking for any new solutions because these programs are essential to what I specialize in._durin_-->I've read countless threads on this forum where your expertise in Soundbooth have helped innumerable frustrated Adobe patrons. You're a talented problem solver and I thank you for recommendations. However, those files don't exist on my computer--either visible or hidden. I've checked.
Here is how I solved my problem and regained the power of Premiere and Soundbooth CS4 for my MacBook Pro that recently had a new hard drive installed.
I went to the Apple store and inquired about some issues with permissions. The only option they could offer me was to run a Disk Utility unit on my new hard drive to check for conflicting permissions. After ten minutes of investigation, no conflicts found, and a restart I opened both Premiere and Soundbooth CS4. To my surprise I could import and playback audio and video just fine.
This was two days ago and I have yet to encounter the problem since then.
A success with a different solution to this persistent and troublesome problem. -
Capture Noise Print (problem) - Soundbooth CS4
Hello,
I am having a "Capture Noise Print" problem with Soundbooth CS4.
I have 2 audio files:
File A (this is my noise print) I recorded a 4 minute file (.wav) of the ventilation system.
File B (this is the audio file that I want to improve: I want to remove the background noise of the ventilation system.
Q: How can I remove the background sound from File B using the noise print from File A?
I can only achieve this when both sounds are on the same file. Soundbooth CS4 doesn’t let me do this process when there are on separate audio files...(the box for "Capture Noise Print" is grey and cannot be selected)

1. Select 5 seconds of silence
2. Click Capture Noise Print
3. Select select a silent area
4. Click Noise..
5. Click "Preview".. whether On/Off buton is on/off, AND with Use Capture Noise Print selected, I hear no reduction. Even at 100%/3dB
If I uncheck the "Use Captured Noise Print" option, then noise is removed, but I get the robotic voice
CS5 latest updates.
Any ideas?

EDIT:: Interesting.. closing SB, then reopening seems to resolve the issue. Every so often it does the same thing, so I have to close/reopen SB.
