SoundBooth CS4 not opening

It does the little square box that shows you what it's loading but when it reaches where it says "Loading PlayerMediaCore.prn(or .pm I couldn't tell)" It crashes. And it's not like "Adobe soundbooth has crashed" It just stops opening. Any ideas on how to fix this?

  • Photoshop CS4 not opening & Wacom Cintiq 20WSX driver problem

    Hello,
I have been using Photoshop CS4 for quite sometime now with no issues. I have just started using a Wacom Cintiq 20WSX and installed all the necessary drivers and now Photoshop will not open (I have seen other threads relating to Intuos tablets but not the Cintiq 20WSX).
I have unistalled the Wacom drivers and Photoshop will open, on reinstalling the Wacom drivers the problem starts again "Photoshop cs4 has stopped working".
I am running Windows 7 Home Prem 64bit. Photoshop CS4 has all current updates and I am using the most recent driver for the 20WSX from Wacoms site.
Any suggestions as this is really really frustrating. (I have not yet attempted to uninstall Photoshop and reinstall it)
(Incidently I am using the Production Premium CS4 Suite and everyhting else appears to be unaffected -AE, AI are opening with no issues)
    Thanks!

Hi. I had the same problems with my Intous4 as well, and since both cintiq and Intuos use the same driver it probably is the same.
Try this. Uninstall the wacom, unplug it, restart the pc. Then download the latest driver from the wacom site (if you didn't already), and install that latest driver alone, without installing the one that came with the cintiq. This is how I solved my problem, it wouldn't open PSCS4 64bit and AE

  • Why will CS4 not open DNG files converted from Olympus E-M1 raw files?

For several years I have been able to use the DNG Converter to convert .ORF raw files from my Olympus E-M1 and then open them for processing in CS4. Suddenly CS4 quit recognizing these DNG files saying "Photoshop could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file"
I have not changed any preferences. I'm using E-M1 v3.0, DNG Converter v8.3.0.141 on a Mac. I have deleted DNG converter several times, even reinstalled an earlier version but nothing changes.
However, CS4 will open DNG files converted from Pentax raw .PEF files from my K-5. Weird. It's the Olympus raw DNG conversions that won't open.
I can view the DNG converted files in question in Mac's Preview just fine but not CS4. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Be sure the DNG Converter's compatibility is set to provide support for your version of ACR:

  • JPG Image saved in CS4 not opening in IE,but works in Firefox

    Hi All,
I have received images from my client which are edited & saved in CS4. But when i m trying to open these images in IE its not opening, but it is opening in Firefox.
Wat is the solution for this??
I m here attaching a file in which i have shown the screenshot of IE and Firefox. And also the properties of images saved in CS3 and CS4.
Please mail me at [email protected]

Are the documents all RGB?  Most browsers don't speak CMYK.
Also, next time, use the camera icon to add an image, don't put them as attachments -- the virus scanning queue for attachments is busted at the moment.

  • Dreamweaver CS4 not opening in Mountain Lion

My old iMac crashed.  I bought a new one with Mountain Lion and restored files from backup.
Dreamweaver will not open.  Gives error code 150:30.  Says my licensing has expired.
    Now what?

"Save As Adobe PDF" works fine in Snow Leopard.
Thanks for the link, but this is no help - I already have "Save As Adobe PDF" on the menu - the problem is when I click that it errors out...
I just think its sad that Adobe charges people $2000 and provides zero support for future updates; when I buy an iMac for half that amount of money or an iPhone I get operating system support and bug fix downloads to deal with the latest internet advances for years to come - but Adobe apparently takes your money and says sayonara! Is it really that hard to provide updates on $2000 worth of software for say 24 months??

  • Smart Objects in CS4 not opening correctly

I am experiencing a problem in CS4 at work that is giving some trouble. First off, I'm running a quad core, Mac Pro running Snow Leopard with 3GB of RAM.
Here is my issue. If I have an existing Photoshop document with a placed EPS Smart Object file (which was created in Illustator CS3 or CS4) or I Place an image using File>Place, and I double click it to open for editing, it's opening in Preview and not in Illustrator. But, if I open the EPS in Illustrator, select the graphic, copy, then paste into Photoshop as a Smart Object, double-clicking the square to edit works just fine.
After searching through the preference and Google searches, I just can't seem to figure out why.
Please help for this is very frustrating!
    Thanks in advance.
    JimmyDC

    Thanks Chris,
That's pretty much what I had to do. Basically, I had to control-I on an EPS file, change the Open WIth to Illustrator, then checked "use this application to open all like documents" . Works like a dream now.
It appears that Snow Leopard restructured the way files are opened via their creator codes. If anyone is interested, here is a MacWorld article I found that was written back in September.

  • Soundbooth CS4 not picking up my isight camera

    Hi there,
I am using a Mac pro with a firewire isight camera, however, I can't seem to get the mic to wok within Soundbooth - Can anyone shed any light please?

    Hi Wayne,
Can you share with us what you've tried and what the issue is?  Does the iSight microphone not show up as a valid input device in Soundbooth?
Try the following steps and see if it resolves the problem:
    1. Open Applications > Utilities > Audio and MIDI Setup.  Try configuring the Default Input to your iSight microphone.  If it doesn't show up as an option here, then there may be some installation or driver issues.  If you do see it, set it as the default.
    2. Launch Soundbooth and click the red Record button.  In the dialog that pops up, you should see the iSight listed in the "Port" dropdown.  If not, you may need to select your default configuration in the "Device" dropdown.
    3. If this still fails, we can create a new device profile and try to force things.  In the Record dialog, click Settings...  This will launch Audio and MIDI Setup again.  Once it opens, in the menu bar click Audio > Open Aggregate Device Editor.  Click the + button to create a new entry, and name it something like "My iSight configuration."  In the "Structure" box, place a check next to your Built-in Output (or Line Output if you use that) and one next to your iSight microphone input.  Click Done and close out of the Audio Setup application.
    4.  Restart Soundbooth and bring up the Record dialog again.  Click in the "Device" dropdown and select your new "My iSight Configuration" option.  This should make the iSight the only available input port.  Try recording.
    Good luck!

  • CS4 not opening. Need help!

I have CS4. My computer crashed and I have a new hard drive, with Maverick 10.9.4. Photoshop won't open. Do I need to de-install CS-4 and re-install the suite? Or is it because I need to get some kind of permission to use it on another computer, even though I paid for it? CS4 was originally installed on my other laptop. The message originally said that "licensing has stopped working." Now there is no message at all.

Important: Perform the solutions below in order. Continue to the next solution only if a previous solution does not resolve the problem. After performing some of these solutions, you are required to reenter licensing data or activate your product. Furthermore, tryout editions of Adobe software are sometimes prevented from starting.
Solution 1: Delete the FlexNet Publisher preferences folder
    Quit all Adobe applications.
On your startup disk, locate and delete the following folder:
    [hard drive]/Library/Preferences/FlexNet Publisher/
Important: The path above points to the Library folder at the root of your startup disk, not the Library folder in your user home folder.
Important: Apple made the user library folder hidden by default with the 10.7 release. If it's necessary to access these files to perform Adobe-related troubleshooting, use the instructions in the following document make the user library content visible: Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 Lion
Enter your password if asked to authenticate the folder deletion.
    Start your Adobe applications.
Solution 2: Run the License Repair Tool
    Close all Adobe applications.
On your startup disk, locate and delete the following folder:
    [hard drive]/Library/Application Support/FlexNet Publisher/
Important: The path above points to the Library folder at the root of your startup disk, not the Library folder in your user home folder.
Enter your password if asked to authenticate the folder deletion.
Download the Adobe Licensing Repair Tool.
    Run the License Service Update.
    Mac OS X 10.7
    a. Double-click the LicenseRecovery111.dmg
Note: Leave this window open and proceed to the next step.
    b. Double-click your Hard Drive.
    c. Double-click Applications.
    d. Double-click Utilities.
    e. Double-click Terminal.
    f. Type “sudo python “
Note: There is a space following “python”. Do not press Return.
    g. Drag LicenseRecoveryLauncher.app from the LicenseRecovery111.dmg window onto the Terminal Window and press Return. Note: Make sure that the Terminal window has the command and the path to the APP file. For example: "sudo python /Volumes/LicenseRecovery\ 11.6.1/LicenseRecovery/LicenseRecover.py”
    h. Enter your administrator user name and password when prompted and click OK.
    i. Follow the onscreen instructions.
    Mac OS X 10.5 to 10.6
    a. Double-click the LicenseRecovery111.dmg
    b. Double-click the LicenseRecoveryLauncher.app.
    c. Enter your administrator user name and password when prompted and click OK.
    d. Follow the onscreen instructions.
    Start your Adobe applications.
Important:The patch applies to CS3 and CS4 products, Acrobat 8, Acrobat 9, Photoshop Elements 6, Photoshop Elements 8, Director, and Adobe Technical Communication Suite. If your issue does not resolve on the first attempt, run the patch again. Enter option 0 when prompted.
    Solution 3: Repair disk permissions
    Launch the Apple Disk Utility:
    /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.app
    Select your startup disk.
Click Repair Disk Permissions. Note: Repairing disk permissions can take a long time. For more information about using Disk Utility, see the Apple support website.
    Start your Adobe applications.
Solution 4: Reset permissions on the FlexNet Publisher licensing service folder
Important: The path listed below points to the Library folder at the root of your startup disk, not the Library folder in your user home folder.
Follow the Permissions instructions in Solution 5 to modify the permissions on the following folder on your startup disk:
    /Library/Application Support/FlexNet Publisher/
Solution 5: Reset permissions on the Adobe PCD folder
Important: The path listed below points to the Library folder at the root of your startup disk, not the Library folder in your user home folder.
Follow the instructions below to modify the permissions on the following folder on your startup disk:
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/
    Permissions instructions
Close all Adobe applications. Follow the directions below to modify permissions to the folder.
Note: This solution requires administrative privileges and credentials.
    Mac OS X 10.4
Using Finder, navigate to the folder to modify.
Control-click the folder and choose Get Info.
Expand the Ownership & Permissions section.
Click the Details option to show the various owner and group options.

Launch Adobe Acrobat 9 or an Adobe Creative Suite 4 product.
    Mac OS X 10.5, 10.6, and 10.7
Using Finder, navigate to the folder to modify.
Control-click the folder and choose Get Info.
Expand the Sharing & Permissions section.
Click the Details option to show the various owner and group options.
Click the lock icon in the lower-right corner. Type in your administrator user name and password when prompted and click OK.
Change your user name to have Read & Write permissions.
Change admin to have Read & Write permissions.
Change Everyone to have Read & Write permissions.
Click the Gear icon and select Apply To Enclosed Item.
Close the Get Info dialog box.
Launch Adobe Acrobat 9 or an Adobe Creative Suite 4 product.
Solution 6: Remove the SQLite journaling file
The journaling file exists only under specific circumstances where a client is accessing the database file with certain options enabled. If the file does not exist, continue to the next solution.
    Using Finder, navigate to:
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache
Important: The path above points to the Library folder at the root of the startup drive, not the Library folder in your user home folder.
    If present, delete cache.db-journal.
Launch Adobe Acrobat 9 or an Adobe Creative Suite 4 product.
Solution 7: (Acrobat 9 only) Reinstall on a file system that isn't case-sensitive
Adobe applications are not supported on an OS formatted with a case-sensitive file system. If you attempt to install an Adobe application on a case-sensitive volume, you get an error that the file system is not supported. (Case-sensitive volumes include UFS, HFS+ case sensitive [HFSX] or SMB formatted drive.) Acrobat 9 doesn't display such error messages and allows you to install the application. However, attempting to launch Acrobat 9 results in the error, "Licensing for this product has stopped working (error code 130:9)." Reformat the drive to a file system that isn't case-sensitive.
To check if Mac OS X is formatted with a case-sensitive file system, do the following:
Click the Apple menu and choose About This Mac.
    Click More Info.
    Under Hardware, select Serial-ATA.
Select the drive that Acrobat 9 is installed on and check the file system in the list. Note if the file system is case sensitive.
Alternatively, use the Disk Utility to check the file system:
Choose Applications > Utilities, and double-click Disk Utility.
Select the disk Acrobat where is installed and check its format.
    Solution 8: Reinstall
WARNING! This process requires you to uninstall and reinstall all Adobe CS3 and CS4 software, as well as Acrobat 8 and 9. Administrator privileges are required to install Adobe software. Log in to an administrator account to perform the steps below. See the operating system documentation for additional information.
Important: Before you uninstall the software, make sure that you have the installation media to reinstall it. Replacement media isn’t available for previous versions of Adobe software.
From the Finder, choose Go > Utilities.
Navigate to the folder Adobe Installers.
Double-click the shortcut for your Adobe product.
Follow the onscreen instructions to remove the software.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 for any additional Adobe CS3, CS4, Acrobat 8, or Acrobat 9 products.
    Delete the following folders:
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/caps
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/backup
From the Apple menu, choose Restart, then click the Restart button to confirm.
After the computer restarts, install your Adobe products from the original media.
    Launch your Adobe products.

  • Soundbooth will not open movie types

I have tried many things to fix my problem.  I have reinstalled Soundbooth, I have converted the file with Adobe Mediaencoder, and nothing seems to work.  I have tried to open .mov, .avi, .mpg, mp3 and others.  I have more than the required specs to run the program. I am running on a PC dual core Intel Centrino 2.6g ,2 gigs of ram, and 500gigs of hard drive.  When I try open the files above it just shuts the program down and wants to send an error report.  I can open one file such which is .aif.  Any ideas?

Need more information on the movies. What kind of movie, .mov, .mp4, .flv, .avi ...? Usually you don't need QTPro to just play movies, but a lot of movies (e.g. .avi) require additional software to play on a Mac.
Where are these movies located? On your main drive?

  • InDesign Trouble:  CS4 not opening CS3 file formats

    Hi..
For some reason, when I try to open a CS3 indesign file format in CS4, it freezes. I tried multiple files and it does the same thing...  Any suggestions out there?

  • CS4 not opening any kind of image

    Hi there,
I have a problem which for the life of me cannot figure out.
Whenever I load Photoshop CS4 and go to open a saved image - no matter what format it is - I get the preview image at the bottom of the Open window dialogue and when I hit Open nothing happens. The open dialogue disappears but nothing opens.
The same thing happens if I create a new image from FILE -> NEW -> and hit OK, nothing happens.
Anyone ever experienced such a problem? This happens on both 64bit and 32bit versions.
    Thanks,
    Colin

Anything weird that happens like that in Photoshop the first thing to try is resetting the prefs by keyboard method or the manual way. Read this link.

  • Soundbooth CS4 will not record files

I am having an issue with Soundbooth CS4 not recording a file. I can open the record box and select my audio source (Alesis USB mixer in this case) but when I hit record nothing records. The record button does highlight however no audio is record or wave form shows.... Ive tested the setup (Alesis USB mixer into my MacBook Pro) with Audacity and it works fine, all settings are correct with the Soundcard and with OS X.. Ive been recording into Audacity, saving, then opening in Soundbooth to do processing. While this works, I would like to get my moneys worth out of Soundbooth and do all my recording, processing, and editing in the same app. I've attached a photo of the screen for you to review...
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Hmm.  So when playback is fine but record just hangs, it's often a clocking issue.  Is this device one of the MultiMix systems?  If so, what version of OS X are you running and have you updated the drivers for the device?  I know there were some problems with Alesis support on OS X 10.5.5 or 10.5.6 and they released some updated drivers on their website to address the problems.  That would be my next recommendation.
If that fails, we may want to create a custom Aggregate Device with limited inputs to troubleshoot this.  You can do this by launching "Audio MIDI Setup" (located at /Applications/Utilities/) and chooseing "Aggregate Device Editor" from the menu.  Here you can create a new device and specify only a specific set of inputs and outputs from your Alesis, choosing which one you'd like to act as the Master Clock.  After this is created, select the new device in Soundbooth's Audio Preferences and see if you get different behavior.
We do have an Alesis MultiMix 8 around here, but it's currently locked in a coworker's office who's on vacation until Monday.

  • Why  will photoshop not open after loading it to new iMac computer from an external hard drive and I get this message: Licensing for this product has stopped working:error code: 150:30

Why will Photoshop CS4 not open after loading to new iMac from an external hard drive and I get this message: Licensing for this product has stopped working:error code: 150:30

A Photoshop installation is tied to the machine it was installed on. Moving it to or from a hard drive breaks the licensing.
The answer is easy: Reinstall CS4 from your disc. and apply all updates.

  • DLL files not supported on soundbooth CS4

Hi there, I use soundbooth CS4 and downloaded some plugins, After the plugins are downloaded i open the downloads folder on my computer there is the plugin and a read me file. i click on the plugin and soundbooth opens. but when its done loading i get a failure notice reading that the plugin i cliked witch is a DLL file is not supported. I tryed everything to get it to work but it seems that the DLL files wont work. please help:)

    Hi Andrew,
It definitely sounds as if the installation did not complete for Premiere and Soundbooth. My first recommendation would be to run the installer again, and let it reinstall PPro and Soundbooth. (Don't worry, you shouldn't need to run through the ENTIRE installation process again. I share your unspoken pain on how long that process can take.)
If that fails, we can continue troubleshooting, though I'd highly recommend calling Technical Support as they are much better at detecting installation issues than I am able to offer here. Both applications should work exceptionally well on your system.
