Soundcard for lap

I have a soundblaster audigy 2zs for my pc and was wondering if there is anyway I can hook it up to a laptop. I have a dell latitude d600 and want to use it on the road. So can someone tell me how to get hooked up. thanks :manvery-happy:

Only if you have the docking station with a free PCI slot, but carrying it would be impractical. If you want to take it on the road get a bus-powered USB card or a PCMCIA card. And if your laptop only has a ExpressCard slot you'll have to wait for such cards .Message Edited by HSE on 05-0-2007:37 PM

  • How to use multiple VCI strings for lap 1300 and 1200 (option 60) in one pool?

    Hi All,
Hope to you a very happy new year,
I have two differnt LAP 1300 and 1200 in my network and I need to add theme to the WLC,
I successed to add one of theme by the option 60 in the DHCP pool at the Core SW,
    So my quetion is below:
How to use multiple VCI strings for lap 1300 and 1200 (option 60) in one pool?
    Thanks in Advanced,
    Ahmed,

To add to Scott's post.  Option 60 would be useful if you needed to put certain types of AP on specific controllers.  Otherwise, no real need to use it for the most part.
Though, I do recall an issue a few years ago that some windows machines had issues getting DHCP if option 43 is being returned.
Now, on an IOS switch, you can only configure one option 60 per DHCP scope

Have a look in the examples under Hardware Input and Output|Sound (LV6.1)
Dunno where it is under 6i, but the files are there.

Hi, since nobody else has piped in, all I can say I haven't seen one ever, but might report if your G5 is PCI, PCIx, or PCIe.

  • FIRE WIRE IEEE1394 FOR LAP TOP

I am trying to transfer videos from my sony Handycam to my laptop.  Previously I did this with my desk top thru a Firewire but my lap top does not have a Firewire port.  Sony will not transfer via USB.  Is there any way I can add a Firewire to my laptop, either internally or externally?

read the sticky guides, building and bios
bios one suggests not having acpi on with tv cards might help and a few other ideas in them, pci latencey etc
In addition you can find numerous articles in this forum and on the web about the combination of VIA Chipsets and SB cards; it just appears that there is still an inherent risk in that combination. Problems some times - but not always - can be solved using Latency settings or patches ...
I recommend to look for other soundcards in case of VIA chipsets (unless you can arrange with your dealer that you may return the card in case of problems). There are, also according to my experience, several cards around which will at least match the quality of SB for the same price or less - just go out and use your ears.

  • Brand New MacBook Pro - HOT HOT HOT To hot for lap

I have had my MacBook for only 24 hours and i think something is wrong.
Its so hot on the bottom i cant put it on my lap. i bet its at least 90 degrees.
is this ok. It cant be.

Read your User Guide around Page 62 - Safety:
*Handling your MacBook Pro* Set up your MacBook Pro on a stable work surface that
allows for adequate air circulation under and around the computer. Do not operate
your MacBook Pro on a pillow or other soft material, as the material can block the
airflow vents. Never place anything over the keyboard when operating your computer.
Never push objects into the ventilation openings.
The bottom of your MacBook Pro may become very warm during normal use. If your
MacBook Pro is on your lap and gets uncomfortably warm, remove it from your lap and
place it on a stable work surface.

  • WLC displays different IP for LAP in GUI

  • Aaa authentication using tacacs+ for LAP

WIth Autonomous AP, you can configure aaa authtentication using Tacacs+.
In lightweight AP, do u have similar function where u authenticate using tacacs+ when u telnet/ssh into the LAP after it is registered to the WLC?
    Rgds
    Eng Wee

There really isn't anything you can do on the LAP through telnet/ssh.  You can enable TACACS for access to the controller.

  • RCA 7.1 soundcards for the Mini?

    Hi,
I (just a few hours ago) bought the Creative Labs Inspire P7800 7.1 audio system for my Mac Mini. It was on special so why not. It's just that now I need a decent sound card to run more than 2 speakers from it. I've been googling around and it's becoming a huge headache considering i have no clue. Is there anyone out there who's familiar with the product? I believe it only handles RCA inputs (5 wires + 1 auxiliary input) to run.
are there any good USB or Firewire soundcards that split the signal into 7.1 or 5.1 well?
    Thanks

The m-audio Transit will give you a digital optical audio out of your Mac mini to a stereo/decoder for 5.1 audio. But, for 7.1 you'll have to step up the to the Sonica Theater and plug your speakers into it.
    -Doug
[EDIT] The Sonica Theater is now gone from the m-audio Web site. I guess it's been discontinued...

  • What is the soundcard for 2008 mac pros?

I'm having some problems with no sound in the Windows Partition of my Computer and I'm talking to Windows people about it. They're asking me for the type of soundcard I have and I don't know that. What section of System Profiler tells me what the sound card is?
    :\

The onboard sound uses the "Realtek High Definition Audio" drivers. You can either grab them off the DVDs that your Mac Pro came with or download them from Realtek's site:

  • Pci soundcard for mac g3

    Hi,
I have a blue and white Mac G3, my onboard sound in jack has broken and i can no longer record into my mac, i have heard that its possible to use a pci soundcard but i dont know which one as i have searched google but cant find what i need, i dont want an expensive soundcard just a basic good quality soundcard, i am running OS 9.2.
    Many thanks, Andy.

I currently use an M-Audio Audiophile 2492 PCI sound card in my Power Mac G4/400 AGP "Sawtooth." It works well and drivers are still available for this card from the M-Audio website.
I haven't checked eBay lately for a used one, but as another post alluded, a decent Audiophile 2492 might set you back around $50US or so. You do need to make sure that the card is designed to work in the old PCI slots -- some of the older cards were factory modified to work in the PCI-X (or whatever it is called) of the new form-factor Power Mac G5s. Almost all Audiophile cards since the G5 model came out have been made to support that slot architecture. I don't know if the PCI-X is backward compatible with the old PCI standard of the older G3 and G4 Power Mac towers.
If you do find a decent used Audiophile card, pay special attention to the RCA style jacks on it. The grounding sleeve of the jack was held in place within its plastic casing merely by the friction of the metal against the plastic. On my card, the grounding sleeve of one of the jacks consistently comes out of the card when I remove the cable, which can be quite an annoyance. The fix is to simply push the sleeve back into the plastic holder.
Otherwise, it's a great sounding card; much better than anything that Creative Labs every put out for the Macintosh. As long as you have fast enough hard drives (7200 RPM or better), your G3 should have no problem using the full 24-bit 96,000 kHz sampling rate of this card.

  • Searching for best Soundcard for record

    Hi,
I'm a Dj and I'm looking for the best card to record from vinyls. I'm looking for a card witch can record in 92 kHz but I'm not sure if the "Creative X-Fi Platinum Fatalty Champion Series" can do so.
    Could anybody help me

I found that the onboard sound was as good as my soundblaster audigy, so I took it out.  I have two identical systems networked. One system is used as a jukebox/media station, so sound is important there.
I put the audigy in one & hooked up my Altec Lansing 880 speakers to each system.  These are excellent speakers, by the way, so any degredation would be in the soundcard.  There was none.  So I pulled out the Audigy, & happily game & mp3.  Then again, I'm using the 845E max2, so your onboard sound may be different.  In which case, ASSAF is right, just disable onboard sound, networking, or whatever, & drop in your additions.

  • Best soundcard for recording with audition

    Hi guys,

ART makes a USB phono preamp...Not too expensive and designed for what you want.

  • Best soundcard for headpho

I want to purchase a soundcard $30-$50 range that will allow me to have the headphones hooked up all the time, but allow me to mute the speakers when on the headphone. Most store sales people cannot answer the question. Do I want one the USB types? Thanks for any info.

Well, then you can directly plug it into your sound card. Most sound cards have a mic port.
If yours is the big one and cannot fit into the small jack, then you can very easily buy a converter for it.
If you need a sound card, and on a budget, then try Sound Blaster Li've 24 bit.
Otherwise, just go in full force and get Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS (don't bother getting anything in between, especially Audigy 2 Value.)
