Soundman on Equium A110-252 PSAB2E

For some reason I can't launch Soundman in my Realtec ALC861 High Definition Audio drivers.
Can someone help me.
TNX

Hi mate,
sure can I help you. Go to your Control Panel to "Add/Remove Programs" and remove that soundman or soundmax software. Go to the [Toshiba Driver Download site|http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp] and download the latest version of this sound driver software.
Install it and check if the error persist. If yes, then backup all your files and recover (which means windows reinstalling) your machine. All files will be deleted during recovery, so DONT forget to backup your files....
If the problem is still present after doing these steps, give a short feedback here.
Good luck

Have a Equim A110-252 running Vista Home premium. Only one core working. BIOS set to core multi-processing enabled.
    Bios version V5.20
    Any ideas?

It appears this model came with XP. Did you install Vista or upgrade to Vista?
Perhaps you need to install or update the Intel Chipset Driver, or install the Value Added Package.

  • Equium A110-252: I can't get any channels with V-GEAR MobiDTV

    Hi.
I have the Toshiba Equium A110-252 and i've just bought the V-GEAR MobiDTV but I can't get any channels. Do
es anyone know if this laptop has the correct software/hardware that is needed.
Hope someone can answer this for me.
    Thanks

    Hi
This is not a Toshiba device and in such cases the best way is to contact the device manufacture.
In your case I would recommend visiting this site:
    http://vgear.com/products/list.asp?ProdID=AMVG1-016-002
However, I assume this tuner should receive the digital signals.
I dont know where you live but in my knowledge the digital TV is not available everywhere. The digital signals must be strong enough to receive the TV channels.

    I have a Equium 110-252 (PSAB2E).

It proceeds then to search for the drivers for the device but it did not find anything.
Can anybody tell me where to find these drivers!?

  • Equium A110-252 - Can't charge the battery

Hi there, please forgive me if I am posting in the wrong place but I'm not sure what I am doing.
I have an old Toshiba Equium A110-252, my charger got damaged so I purchased a universal charger.
All was good for a couple of hours then everything stopped working.
I set the adjustable voltage to 19V hope this was correct!
All I get is a slow flashing amber light.
The manual tells me that this means either low power or power is getting to the laptop whilst in stand by mode.
Which ever I can't get the laptop to do anything.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Very best regards to all
    Richard

    Hi!
Why you did buy a compatible charger and not an original Toshiba? AC/DC adaptors from 3rd party manufactures can cause such problems.
In your case I would buy an original Toshiba charger. Normally it should work well again and if you are not sure you can contact an authorized service provider for help.

  • Equium A110-252 freezing in win 7

Hi I have a big big problem with my laptop which is Equium A110-252.
I installed win7 and I tried to install all the compatible drivers, only the ones that says win 7 x32, however my laptop keeps freezing at random times and I don't know why.
I didn't have this problem using win xp, could anyone plz help me, I really want win 7 to work because it is way faster than xp.
    Plz help me

    Hi!
I doubt that Windows 7 is faster then XP. I have also tried Windows 7 RTM and I must say its faster then Vista but in my opinion XP is still the most fast OS.
However, if your notebook freezes in Windows 7 you should use the preinstalled OS that I think is XP. I mean Windows 7 isnt on the market as yet and I doubt that pretty old Equium A110 will support Windows 7.
What you can do is to clean the notebook using compressed air spray because maybe its overheating.
But I think thats all what you can do.
    Bye

  • Equium A110-252 and Windows 7

Hi, hopefully someone might be able to help me on this one. I have a A110-252 laptop. It currently has only 256Mb RAM but I'm planning to upgrade it to 2Gb. At the same time I'm hoping I might be able to upgrade (clean install) to WIndows 7.
I don't have the laptop infront of me but I believe it has a Vista compatible sticker on it (not sure if that really counts for anything though!) and there are Vista drivers available for it. Would this be enough to assume it would work ok in Windows 7? I'd really like to upgrade it as I want to buy the family pack (3 WIndows 7 licenses) but it would be pointless if it doesn't run.
My other thought was to (once I have the RAM upgrade) is install the Windows 7 Beta but it'd be handy to get other people's opinions.
    Thanks

Problem is that your notebook model is not supported for Win7 and you will probably have problems to find Win7 drivers.
You can try to use Win7 drivers designed for other Toshiba models with similar hardware configuration but if this will work I don't know.
RAM upgrade is definitely good idea and I can imagine you can use your notebook well using supported Vista.

  • My Equium A110-252 won't recognise DVD +R discs

like the title says, i can't get my laptop to recognize DVD +R discs anymore. I managed to writ one a few months ago but it seems to have gone screwy since then.
I've tried deleting the Disc creator software and re-installing it but to no avail, Please does anyone have any ides how i can resolve this issue????

Did you check different medium manufacturers?
I use the TDK CDs and DVDs and Im satisfied.
I was a long searching and testing for me. I have used several CD from different manufacturers and have had similar problems.
Now I have decided to use only CDR or DVD-R.

  • Equium A110-252 - Microsoft Office programmes wont run

I can't run any of the Office programmes as i'm being asked for the product key. The only product key/disc i have is for One Note. Does anyone know if i have to purchase office, or have i not been supplied the disc by the retailer? Office was already installed when purchased, but wont run until key is entered. Any help appreciated.

    Hi
Microsoft Office is not the same like Microsoft OneNote. I believe the notebook was delivered with the OneNote and not with MS Office. The key for OneNote you will find on the CD box as mentioned. But the key for OneNote will not work with the MS Office.
Therefore if you want to use Office you have to purchase it.

  • Need info about HDD adaptor and Vista utilities installation on Equium A110

I own an Equium A110-233 (PSAB2E), and I recently upgraded to Vista after installing 2GB of RAM. However, I found myself a little short of hard drive space and treated myself to a new 120GB HDD. However, it seems that the computer has an edge connector interface, as does the existing Hitachi TravelStar HDD - it doesn't look like there's an adaptor plug on the drive. Does anyone know where I can get an adaptor for my "traditional" 40-pin hard drive?
After installing Vista and reflashing my BIOS, I reiinstalled ConfigFree and the Value Added Package (amongst other drivers). However, running ConfigFree always leads to a crash with the BSOD ID "NO_MORE_IRC_STACK_LOCATIONS".
As for the VAP, I wanted it mainly for Power Saver. However, searching for it gives only "Power Saver Help".
Can anyone give me any pointers here? Thanks.

    Hi,
did you know that you have a serial-ata drive in your machine which is not compatible to the IDE standard (40 pin)? You wont get an adaptor from 40 pin to serial ATA, because SATA is a completely different technology to IDE.
You will have to return the harddrive you purchased and buy a serial-ata drive, which will fit in your machine.
A little idea from my side regarding your BSOD:
Download the powersaver and the configfree for vista from the internet (this is a good address: http://209.167.114.38/support/Download/ln_byModel.asp) and reistall that stuff, maybe it helps.

  • Equium A110-276: Do I need to update BIOS when Vista was installed?

I do know where to post this...
"I have clean installation of Windows Vista on my Equium A110-276. Do I need to update the BIOS or not? Does Updating BIOS Compulsory/mandatory?

    Hi
It seems Toshiba has published a special version of BIOS for Windows Vista.
If you want you can check it on the Toshiba driver page.
But if your Vista runs correctly on the notebook with previous BIOS version you dont need to update the BIOS.
I would recommend updating the BIOS if any strange operational behavior will appear.

  • Equium A110 - How to connect to PowerMac?

    Hi,
I'm trying to connect a Equium A110 laptop (XP home edition) to a 7500/100 MHZ PowerMac (O/S 7.6.1) in order to get mainly photographic files off.
I need to be able to file share via a Cat5e Crossover Patch Cable, which I've been told should connect PC to PC, Mac to Mac and in this case Toshiba PC to Mac. Is that possible?
At some basic level the PC seems to see the Mac (in LAN boot - unless this stands for some Migration Authorization Code of some sort?) but I cannot get a physical connection that allows transfer of files. The original cable vendor and Belkin have been no help whatsoever!
I believe one computer should be made the server (the newer PC laptop?) and the Mac a Client?
I've had a lot of people saying, 'it should be possible'.
Am I missing any software or drivers in order to create this link successfully or have I missed activating a setting somewhere?
I have relaxed potentially conflicting software whilst trying to achieve this.
    TIA.
    JimJam

    hi jimjam,
what do you expect from manufacturers if this is not a hardware problem?
you have to do your homework!
it's a problem that's related to the networking protocols...
what you need is a router + 2 lan cables or a crosslink cable, some time to read and patience...
smb or similar will do the job
file sharing rights are also required
if you are not experienced in network protocols use a usb harddisk to transfer the files
use a internet search with "smb file sharing mac windows"
i am sure the results give you some useful answers
btw: the apple support site has a howto exactly for this problem
so i wont copy and paste it here....
btw2: if you boot with dhcp enabled and choose netboot the bootprotocol will look for boot files on the connected computer...
    this wont help you...

  • Equium A110: SVID to Composit - black and white output

I Have recently bought a Toshiba Equium A110 and i have been trying to out put to a tv
the problem is that svid to svid is fine and in colour however svid to composit (Which is what i need)is black and white i have tried all the settings to no avail i think it has something to do with the tv settings are set to 60hz in the properties but i cannot change them
i have uploaded the latest 945gm drivers which did not cure the problem has anyone got any ideas of what to try next.

S-Video devices send two types of signals down the cable, Chroma (Colour) and Luma (B&W). Your TV or video device must support both Chroma and Luma signals otherwise the picture will be only black and white. Using incorrect signal encoding such as NTSC on a PAL only TV will also result in black and white picture however most modern equipment should handle both.
For using S-Video singals on a TV with no Chroma support you will have to use an S-Video to Composite adaptor. This basically mixes the two signals from S-Video in the correct proportions and delivers CVBS / Composite output. I know for a fact Maplin sell them for around 4.99 but you might find it cheaper elsewhere.

  • Equium A110 - Booting into BIOS

    Hi all
I have recently come across a problem with my *Equium A110-233* laptop. This laptop was lying in a cupboard for a year or so after a friend of a friend plugged a digital camera into it to transfer pics whereapon the laptop promptly shut down. It was an instant power off as i have been told. The laptop would not boot up again after that, in fact it showed no response at all.
Now, i pulled it out of the cupboard and plugged in the power cord to have a dip and see if i got lucky. To my amazement it booted after a little charging. I re - formated and re-installed windows XP with SP3. The laptop booted up for two days without any problems but, has now stopped behaving.
The problem i am having is as follows : When powering up the laptop posts, but then goes straight into the bios everytime. It did this a few times on and off and i thought nothing of it as it would eventualy load windows XP after rebooting. But now it simply refuses to do anything other than go straight into the bois on power up.
I updated/ flashed the bios after installing XP innitialy. I have no clue as to what the problem may be. Below is what i have checked so far:
Ram - Checked and working properly.
    HDD - Working properly.
Battery - Delivers power when off of AC.
AC power delivers power as indicator light is glowing on laptop.
Any ideas would be gratefully accepted.
    Thanks.

Hmm maybe the RCT/BIOS battery is empty ?:|
This could be possible because the notebook was not used for a longer time.
In order to recharge the BISO battery the notebook should be connected to AC adaptor and should be powered up. The battery should charge for about 24hours.
Of course it could be an motherboard issue this would explain the pervious issues
