Sounds from my keyboard to play in garage band

Hello guys I am a new GB user I have a simple question i think. Will GB recognize the sounds in my Roland Fantom X7? I got my keyboard to work but it seems it only plays the sounds that came with GB and not the million sounds in my Roland. Does anyone know about this. or do I hav eto by Pro tools to get my Roland sounds to play?

Be sure to re-read those instructions. You don't go into the Mac's headphone jack as that is an output. You need to connect to the Mac's line-in (which, on mine, is right next to the headphone jack).

Can't Hear GM sounds from external Keyboard

My system set up is a Mac Mini OS X 10.9.5 with 2.3 GHz intel Core i5 and 5 Gb of Memory . A Focusrite Saffire Pro 14 interface.
I am using a M-Audio Keystation 61es connected via the USB to to the Mac,( and have done for the last 2 years ),
when I was using it in Garageband it worked perfectly as a 'Plug-in & Go' keyboard and i could access and play both the GM sounds on board or the GB sound Library.
Since Upgrading to Logic Pro I can only play Midi voices and loops from Logic, although it recognises the Model of keyboard and allocates the relevant channel, it also allows me to see the onboard menu of GM sounds, and registers in the volume of the track a signal coming through the relevant channel, so i know its communicating somewhere.
But I can't hear ANY of the GM sounds from the Keystations on board library.
Have looked at all the Midi Settings i can find in Logic and followed some paths suggested in the various Logic Manuals, but still no Noise !
I am no Techno Head so please! if you know what it is that I am NOT doing , explain it the simplest way you can.

As far as I can tell, the M-Audio Keystation 61es does not have any form of on board sound generation. So whatever you heard in Garageband was synthesized by GB. In the same way you'll have to set up a virtual instrument in Logic to generate the sound.
Apart from that, it sounds like you are not really aware of the difference between Midi controller data and audio data, or at least the way they are routed. The midi controller has no way to send audio to logic through a midi connection. If it had on-board sounds, you'd have to route the audio explicitly to logic using an audio interface or in rare cases using audio over the USB connection that also does midi. In any case, you'd have to route the sound manually. The external instrument plugin in logic allows you to do that easily. But again, I don't think that applies to your situation.

No sound from external keyboard in Logic Express 9.1.8

I have connected my Yamaha MM6 keyboard to my Macbook Pro using a USB connection. In Garageband, everything works fine, but in Logic Express 9.1.8, I don't hear anything, In the Library panel, the MM6 shows up as Port 1 and 16 channel options appear. None of them result in sound. It indicates notes being played in the Input window, but not the Out. Does anyone have any advice?

OK, maybe I am not explaining this the right way. There is no sound coming out when I press keys on the capslock keyboard. I went into Window > Environment. Then I clicked on the drop down arrow in the top-left hand corner where the layers are usually located and went to "click & ports." I have everything connected properly, but I don't see "Caps Lock Keyboard" located in the "Physical Output" object box where it should be. Does anyone know how to get it back in there as I believe this is why I can't get any sound from the capslock keyboard.

Recording sound from DVD and CD play

Try this:
1. Connect the Line IN jack on your player to the line output of an external stereo source, such as a CD or MiniDisc player, using the supplied line-in cable.
2. Press the Back/Options .You may need to do this more than once until the main menu appears.
3. Select Extra button to start a line-in encoding.
5. On your external stereo source, start playing the song you want to encode.
6. While encoding, you can press and hold the Back/Options button and select one of the following items:
Pauses the encoding. You can also pause the encoding by pressing the Play/Pause button.
Stops and saves the encoding. You can also stop the encoding by pressing the Record
Split Ends and saves current recording session, and begins a new one.
7. Press the Record button to end the line-in recording. The recorded track is named LINE followed by the date and time of the recordin YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS<. For example, if you record a track on March 5, 2004 at 2:57 pm, the track is named LINE
This information can also be found in your user's guide, it's a .chm file found in your installation cd.

Why does a sound from Jampack suddenly not play (after it was working fine)

Have a track-----French Horn part written in and was all playing fine. However, at a certain point it just won't play the French Horn part and/or even play the french horn sound or any of the new horn sounds. But the part is there (i see the midi notes and it plays it back on just a piano sound).
Nothing muted/soled, etc. However, if I start an entirely new session/song, then it plays back a new horn part fine.
Even if I create just a new track it won't play the part on the old session.

What you are reporting is a known Premiere Elements 12 issue, the loss of sound from numbered Audio Tracks and Soundtrack after narration has been added to the project with the program's Narration Tool.
It was only looked at in another thread earlier this evening and resolved.
Premier Elements 12 for Mac - After narration, only Narration track plays back.
The fix suggested by Llamadude99 and variations there of seem to be the answer. Please go through the link above and the links within in the for even more background on the issue. I have not been able to reproduce the problem in Premiere Elements 12/12.1 Windows with a desktop microphone (computer jack connection) in order to get at the core of the issue first hand.
Some background questions...what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on? And what type of microphone are you using for creating narration with the Premiere Elements 12 Narration Tool? Are you using Premiere Elements 12 or the Premiere Elements 12.1 Update obtained via the project's Help Menu/Update?
Please let us know the outcome.

Not getting sound from midi keyboard+mainstage

Hey all, been reading this forum to see if someone's question and answer covers my problem... it seems not. I have Keystation Pro 88, connected by USB to my MacBook Pro. Mainstage acknowledges the midi inputs, and will play the sounds I relate to my keypresses through the built-in audio. I then connect an external sound card to this (Tascam 122L), also via USB. I don't get the same sounds from the keypresses - I can see my keypresses graphically reflected on the screen, but the sound from my Mainstage concert doesn't come through either headphones plugged into the 122L or any mixing board receiving the outputs from the 122L. The 122L seems to work fine (anything plugged into its inputs gets me sound). All that's lacking is for the midi info from the Keystation Pro to be turned into sound.
To save a step in the troubleshooting, yes, I've configured my mainstage preferences to send and receive to the 122L.
I'm fairly experienced with Logic Pro, but have recently been looking to switch to a computer-driven live setup, too. So far, no luck.
Any ideas?

What I've learned: the Tascam 122L has known issues when working with Leopard. Back in the store, I plugged another external card (Presonus Audiobox USB), which immediately worked with the Mac as though they were friends since birth.
I am rapidly warming to Mainstage.

HT1766 no sound from my speaker, headphones play normal, phone rings normal, alarm sound normal, re-installed software, will not play sound when music is played from speaker but speaker works for everything else....

Soft sound from rear speakers while playing mov

Hi,?Gaming and music is done via all speakers (i'm using analogue connection) just fine, but when i play a movie (using powerdvd 6?deluxe) i get faint sounds from the rear speakers. I had contact with creative's help desk in my country and we ran thru all system settings (e.g. thnx console). Everything was configured correctly., tho still a weak sound from rear speakers. They could not help me further ?I'm using a x-fi fatality soundcard with a logitech z-5400 speakerset.
When running a movie it shows a logo near the system tray : dolby digital. I am hoping one of u has a solution to this problem. Greetz,?Nask

In most of the cases, movies with mutichannel soundtrack do not use constantly every speakers. I think your case is normal and that's only your DVD's mix (as many DVD) that concentrates more on the front. try some of the sample there: http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/do...s/trailers.phpIf the first one sound at the same level for each speakers then it's alright.

No Sound From Virtual Keyboard In Logic Pro 8

All of a sudden, there is no sound coming from any logic instruments via the virtual keyboard. Everything was working fine yesterday, when all of a sudden in the middle of making a beat, the sound stopped. I have tried changing the midi and audio settings, but there is still no sound. I don't have an external keyboard connected, just the logic virtual keyboard. It is like the virtual keyboard has no connection to logic at all, which I know may sound crazy.
I have also tried loading other virtual instruments and it still won't work. It has to be something simple I am overlooking. Any assistance is GREATLY appreciated. PLEASE HELP!!

Hi, I've lost all sound; keys F 3 4 and 5 only come up with a circle and diagonal bar across it. no sound in i-tunes and none in garage band or YouTube viewings

Could be many things, we should start with this...

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
Also, open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there, some things will change it for their own use, then not set it back.

How can I stop a sound from looping so it plays only once each time the up key is pressed?

Hi there here is my code, the basis is it is playing a mp3 from my library.
Basically as the topic suggests I only want the sound to play once each time the UP arrow key is pressed. At the moment when you hold the up arrow down the sound keeps triggering and looping and gets really loud and noisy.

If you want the sound to only play once when the key is pressed then you don't want to have it in the ENTER_FRAME event handler like you have it. It is starting new sounds at the frame rate of your file the way you have it now.
Try having an event listener dedicated to a KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN event where you detect when the UP key gets pressed and use that to trigger playing the sound.

Exporting Video w/ Sound From Premiere Doesn't Play Correctly in After Effects.

I export a video from Premiere with sound and Import it into After Effects, however the sound seems to be sped up and glitching. The wave form is compressed and shows that the sound does not play for the actual duration of the video?

We can't know. You have neither provided any exact export settings nor any other useful info like system info, versions, audio hardware prefs and so on.
