Soundtrack Pro cannot launch. Missing PtoFX.framework

Just installed Logic Studio 9 and ran the updater to make sure I have the latest versions of everything.
Logic Pro, Main Stage ... work fine, but Soundtrack Pro would not open. Here is what I get
Dyld Error Message:
Library not loaded: /Library/Application Support/ProApps/SharedA/Frameworks/ProFX.framework/Versions/A/ProFX
Referenced from: /Applications/Soundtrack Pro.app/Contents/MacOS/Soundtrack Pro
Reason: image not found
I searched left and right for the solution to no avail.
I put in the installation disc again, but I cannot select Soundtrack Pro (Or Compressor for that matter) to be installed. It is simply in the disabled state.
Can anyone help?

A small caveat - I could not get the Compressor to work using this method so Compressor still crashes as soon as it opens up.
I did some more digging around and found the following.
1) Soundtrack Pro and Compressor were not installed originally with Logic Studio. The installer said that I already had newer version installed. I never installed Soundtrack pro or Compressor before. /Library/Receipts does not contain any references to either one.
2) I tried to remove both apps according to Apple instructions to no avail. Installer still thinks I have them.
3) I tried (following Apple recommendations) changing the value of the Soundtrack Pro version to force the software update to update Soundtrack Pro. Changing version from 3.0.1 to 3.0.0 does nothing. Changing it to 2.0.1 prompts to install 2.0.2 which I did not want to do since I am not sure what kind of damage that will do to the rest of the system.
So basically - if anyone knows how to force the installer to install Soundtrack Pro from the actual Logic Pro DVD - that would be the real solution.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

  • TX - VersaMail cannot launch - "missing localization information"

Some time ago, I'd been having problems with VersaMail resetting my TX every time I tried to launch it, but I followed the directions in Knowledge Base Article #36541 (Parts One and Two) and it solved the problem beautifully.  However, after several weeks, the problem returned this morning, so I followed those same instructions again (or at least I thought I did!), but now whenever I try to launch VersaMail on my TX, I get the following "Launch Error" message:
"The application cannot be launched because it is missing localization information."
I've tried restoring the deleted files from my Desktop's Palm User folder and re-synching, but still get the error.  If anybody can help me get this resolved quickly, I'd really appreciate it.
     Thanks.

Thanks for the reassurance about NVBackup 1.22b9.  I'll probably try to install it sometime soon when I get the time.
As to NVB's copying itself to the card, I had indeed checked the box in Preferences to have it do that; that wasn't my problem. My problem was that after backing up to the card and doing a hard reset, NVB was no longer on my TX and I couldn't figure a way to access NVB on my card to do a Restore.  As a result, I used Palm Desktop to reload NVB to the TX by means of a HotSync, but when I tested my VersaMail after the HotSync it worked perfectly, so there was no need to do a Restore from the card.
My remaining question:  In an event such as this, where I've done a hard reset and NVB no longer exists on the TX, but is resident on the card, is there any way I can access the NVB on the card to initiate the Restore - without having to reload NVB first - or do I have to reload NVB first by means of the Desktop, then do a HotSync, and only then do a Restore?  Put another way, can the NVB on the card only be accessed when NVB is resident on the TX (which wouldn't make sense, as why then would anyone ever bother to put NVB on the card in the first place?), or can it somehow be accessed on the card even when NVB is absent on the TX, as it is after a hard reset?
In short, if there's any way to access the NVB on the card directly after a hard reset without having to first reload NVB to the TX, I'd appreciate knowing how to do it.
Thanks again for all your help.

Every time I try to load Soundtrack Pro (within Logic Pro 9.1.8) I get the message "Soundtrack Pro cannot be opened because of a problem". Software is up to date on a Quad Core iMac. Can anyone help?

  • Soundtrack Pro crashes on launch.  New OS 10.6.6 update?

    Hey all,
I just installed Logic Studio yesterday and updated to OS 10.6.6 today. Soundtrack Pro is crashing on start. Are these two issues related? Is anyone else having this problem?
The error report tells me this:
    Dyld Error Message:
    Library not loaded: /Library/Application Support/ProApps/SharedA/Frameworks/ProFX.framework/Versions/A/ProFX
    Referenced from: /Applications/Soundtrack Pro.app/Contents/MacOS/Soundtrack Pro
    Reason: image not found
    Other details I have:
My Soundtrack Pro version is3.0.1. The only other audio apps I have are GarageBand '11 and Amadeus Pro.
I have restarted the computer, and I have repaired disk permissions.
    Thanks in advance,
    David

Ok, here's an update on my attempt. nolanscott, you state:
    +reinstalling the old ProKit.framework 5.1 from TimeMachine again,+
    +Soundtrack 1.5 opens again...+
    +(HD / System / Library / PrivateFrameworks / ProKit.framework)+
I'm using Soundtrack Pro 3.0.1, and I don't find a "PrivateFrameworks" folder. But I did dig into a Mac Pro that has Final Cut Studio and did find what this iMac seems to be missing. But wow, not sure exactly how huge this is, but the ProApps directory on the iMac only has:
    --Bundles [directory]
    --Internal Plug-Ins [directory]
    --Logic Studio System ID
    --ProAppsSystemID
While the Mac Pro which has Final Cut Studio (admittedly no Logic Studio) has much more robust contents!:
    --Bundles [directory]
    --Final Cut Studio System ID
    --Internal Plug-Ins [directory]
    --MIO [directory]
    -- ProAppsSystemID
    -- SharedA [directory]
So, in the original error message I got, the entire ShareA folder doesn't even exist. The ShareA folder has 3000+ items in it. I've copied it on the corresponding location on the iMac (Volumes/Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/ProApps/)... and SoundTrack Pro still fails. This time the relevant message is:
    +Dyld Error Message:+
    +Library not loaded: /Library/Frameworks/ProMetadataSupport.framework/Versions/A/ProMetadataSupport+
    +Referenced from: /Applications/Soundtrack Pro.app/Contents/MacOS/Soundtrack Pro+
    +Reason: image not found+
Again, comparing the two computers, inside of the iMac to the Mac Pro, the ProMetadataSupport.framework folder is absent from the iMac. I copy that folder over from the Mac Pro and...
    BINGO. We have launch.
Now, the one thing about doing this is, that I assume I'm not the only Soundtrack Pro'er out there who is having this problem. I don't know what this will do when Apple releases and update for this. Will my fix cause new problems that conflict with Apples? Or did this in fact having nothing to do with updating to 10.6.6 and stem from something else I did? All I did was install Logic Studio, and run System Update. Didn't launch Soundtrack until after I had updated to 10.6.6, so don't know if the problem is connected to that...
Thanks nolanscott for inspiring my research!

  • Unable to launch Soundtrack Pro 2.0.1 (Fresh Install)

I've just installed Logic Studio on a clean installation of Leopard (10.5.1) on my dual 2ghz G5. For some reason Soundtrack Pro 2.0.1 immediately quits upon launch with the error *"The application Soundtrack Pro quit unexpectedly."*
I've attempted to reinstall only Soundtrack Pro 2 from the Logic Studio disc, but this does not resolve the issue.
Prior to installing Logic Studio, I had installed Final Cut Studio 1 (which included Soundtrack Pro version 1), so I don't know if this prior installation in some way conflicted with it.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions it would be much appreciated!

    I've figured it out!
I'm posting the solution here in hopes that it will help out anyone else who may be running into this issue.
For some reason the Logic Studio installer was not installing the ProAppsMetaDataSupport framework needed by Soundtrack Pro 2. This may have to do with my previous existing installation of Final Cut Studio 1, which contained Soundtrack Pro 1 and Compressor 2.3.1.
Here's what I did to remedy my issue...
    1) Delete all Soundtrack Pro 1.x system files
    2) Delete all Compressor & QMaster files (for directions, see:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302845
    3) Upon running Logic Studio, I noticed that though I could install Soundtrack Pro 2, the option to install Compressor was grayed out and indicated 'Skip'. I quite the installer and realized it was necessary to install Compressor directly using the package file.
    4) On the Logic Studio disc, control-click the *Install Logic Studio* icon and select *Show Original*. This will take you to a hidden folder containing all of the individual installation packages.
    4) To install Compressor first, open Compressor.mpkg
    5) After I installed Compressor, I chose to run the main Logic Studio installer, and chose to install Soundtrack Pro.The installation for Soundtrack Pro should run normally, and it should install the ProMetaDataframework automatically.
I also did notice that the installation packages folder did contain an entry for ProAppsMetadataSupport.pkg, so you may be able to run this if it for some reason doesn't install.
After this, both applications finally launched perfectly! Ok, time for bed.

Any idea how I go about fixing this?

Soundtrack Pro is an old version and people often break older versions by installing brand new versions of ProKit, QuickTime, etc. Have you installed any updates recently?

  • Just purchased and downloaded Acrobat Pro, but cannot launch it.  I need to use it NOW!

I was using the Acrobat Pro trial, loved it, used it every day, so purchased the program and now cannot launch it no matter how many times I download it and try.  Can anyone help?

What OS? Assuming you are using Windows, there may be something leftover from the trial installation. Try using the cleaner tool and then re-installing.

I keep getting this message when I launch PP "Premiere Pro cannot find any capable video play modules". I've read through a few threads and made the recommended changes but still no luck, it crashes everytime. I have a Mac Pro 2010 with a Nivdia Quadro FX 4800.

Hello and thanks for the response. Yes, I've read that post and many others, I still get the same message when trying to open. I've realized there's no way to get tech support for any of the products I'm using. Is there another place hat can help me with this problem? I really wanted to try PP but looks like I won't be able to.

  • Cannot use the Send to Soundtrack Pro Audio File Command

I cannot use the Send to Soundtrack Pro Audio File Command, only the Multitrack and it's starting to really get on my nerves. It is unhiglighted. If I unlink the clip and select only half of the audio, the option re-appears. I have no idea what is wrong.

As an audio file, you can only send one clip at a time. This is a feature, not a bug. See the book for more information.

  • Missing audio when sending to Soundtrack Pro

I have a sequence that I'm sending to Soundtrack Pro. It sends and opens but I notice that there is audio missing from sections where I have .motn elements in my timeline. The audio is there in FCP...
Is there a solution to this?

Turns out the audio needed to be linked to the .motn sequence.

I have the newest version of soundtrack pro and I cannot locate my library.
I'm sure it's something simple but I just don't see the option to view the

You can ctrl-click one of the clips in the library and go to Reveal in Finder.

  • Something has gone wrong inside my Soundtrack Pro and I cannot figure it out.

So I can record with any other program on my Mac Pro, including the voiceover inside FCP, but cannot get a clean recording from Soundtrack Pro.
Everything sounds like this - https://rapidshare.com/files/4143174674/Track%201%20Recording%20232.aif
I thought it might have something to do with sample rates, but didn't notice anyhting.
I was using a Shure SM89 shotgun mic recording some family members commentating on old family film. I was going into a Behringer 1202 mixer, and then out into my Mac Pro from the line-in. I assume I cannot fix these recording, and it was my fualt as I had my headphones pluged into my mixer and not into the computer.
Now anything I record in Soundtrack Pro sounds like this, although it records fine in other programs.
    Any suggestions?

It is an analog mixer, and I have the main outs going to RCAs and then those paired down into a stereo mini jack going into my Mac Pro.
I actually have not messed with any setting in the program in a year or so, and it was working fine for that time. I recently updated to OSX 10.6 from 10.5, and I am wondering if that may have something to do with it?
Like I said this was working fine for the past year or so, and after that update I can no longer record anything usable in Soundtrack pro, all the audio sounds like the sample I provided.
That being said, I can open FCP7 and use the voiceover tool to record audio with the exact same set-up and it works perfectly fine, so for the meantime that is what I have been doing, and worst case scenario my MacBook Pro also and The FCP Studio installed on it, and I could always record to Soundtrack Pro through that.
