Source Code directory

Can any one please tell me the source code directory structure for J2EE app. So that building and deployment is easy

How do I get Perforce to work when the project file isn't in a directory above the source code?
Use the command line version. Apple is dropping support for Perforce anyway.

  • What specifically do I need to install in order to be able to compile source code?

    Basically, there's an app I need to use which is only available at the moment through downloading its source code and compiling myself on my Macbook.
    As far as I can see, the only way to get the necessaery commands is to install the entire xcode developer environment - just wondering is there any more specific way to do this? I'm a bit low on disk space at the moment, so I'd prefer to avoid installing the full 4GB xcode paraphernalia if I could avoid it, but if there's no other choice I'll go ahead and do it.
    Anyone know if there's an easier way?
    I get the following error when I try to run the ./configure command for the source code:
    configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
    Is this a case of installing the full developer environment or is there a shortcut?

    I've installed one, now I'm getting the following error when trying to compile:
    checking for intltool-update... no
    checking for intltool-merge... no
    checking for intltool-extract... no
    configure: error: The intltool scripts were not found. Please install intltool.
    Thing is, all three of those files exist in the actual source code directory, as .in files. Do I need to move them into a different directory, or should they not be .in files in the first place?
    Apologies for the newbish questions, last time I had to compile anything I had the full xcode environment installed and didn't run into any issues like this but at the moment I don't have the space for it so manually it'll have to be!
    I'm assuming the issue here is simply that those three scripts need to be in a different directory rather than the source code directory?

  • Batch code for running a find/replace all on multiple files within a source floder/directory

    What I need is a Batch source code that will open all files in a folder/directory and run a find and replace_all query within them and then save all the files.  The files were created in Illustrator and saved using the Scene7 FXG format extension.    These files will be uploaded into Scene7 as a group after the find and replace macro/query is run on the code.  The same find and replace query will be the same for all the files.  Basically this function or batch process  will save time in setting the same parameters all at one time instead of having to set the parameters individually in scene7.
    a source code sample of the find/replace module macro might be              searchString:  s7:colorvalue="#FFFFFFFF"
                                                                                                                          replaceString: s7:colorValue="#&txtclr;"
                                                                                                                          searchWhat   "FXG document"

                                                                                                                        useRegularExpressions:   true
    I have no problems creating batch files within Ai and PhotoShop but I have limited programming skills in how to create source code for manuipulating documents outside of those apps or in a OS invironment.
    I could probably come up witha simple program to do what i want for one document but i get lost when dealing with multiple documents in a source folder (prolbem is,  I will be dealing with thousands of documents not 100 or less)
    If anything which Adope cloud app would work best:  Dreamweaver or Edge code   (or just use my notepad)

  • Why does debugger not find source code when compiler output has been directed to the root directory, but the source is in a sub-directory, using Forte for JAVA community edition V3.0

    I have configured Forte to put compiler output, i.e. my classes, in the root directory of the project. I now find that the debugger does not find the source code when it is in a sub-directory. However, if I temporarily copy a classes' source code to the root directory the debugger will display it.
    To direct compiler output to the root directory I selected Project >Settings>Compiler types, then External Compiler ( which is the default compiler in my case ) and set Target to be the root project directory. This is the only directory it will allow.

    This Forum is for Forte 4GL or UDS as its called today. I am not sure if anybody is going to be able to answer your question here. Sorry.

  • Who can tell me which directory the JSSE source code in?

    I get the source code of JDK5,but there are too many directories ,I don't get the source code of JSSE,I am beginner.

    Then you have no need for the source code of either J2SE or JSSE actually.

  • How to read the Java source code (in Netbeans)

    I use OS X10.5.5, NetBeans 6.1 and JSE 6 on a 64 bit mac.
    When I downloaded NB6.1 it had JSE 5 as it's default (and only) java platform. I ran Software Update to get Java 6 from Apple, used the Java Prefrences utitlity to set JSE6 as default. In NB I added the JDK6 platform, registered the JDK6 javadocs and noticed that I also have the option of registering the Java source code.
    I have three questions:
    1) How do I make JDK6 the default in NetBeans. The JDK5 keeps being default after I did the steps above and I don't see anywhere to change that.
    2) How do I read the Java 6 source code? I can see sun provides [source code| http://download.java.net/jdk6/] for their supported platforms. I dont see Apple doing the same for its JDK port. What would I need to do to get to read the java SE6 sources? or is it actually hiding somewhere in the /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home hierarchy?
    3) Where does the JVM look for the binary code to run when I make a call to, say java.util.ArrayList or any other library. In my naivety I would have assumed it would be a .class file somewhere in the java Home folder, but I don't see anything like it.
    thanks in advance,
    chris

    This is taken from the help included with netbeans. In response to question 1.
    By default, the IDE uses the version of the Java SE platform (JDK) with which the IDE runs as the default Java platform
    for compilation, execution, and debugging. You can view your IDE's JDK version by choosing Help > About and clicking the
    Detail tab. The JDK version is listed in the Java field.
    You can run the IDE with a different JDK version by starting the IDE with the --jdkhome jdk-home-dir switch on the command line
    or in your IDE-HOME/etc/netbeans.conf file. For more information, see IDE Startup Parameters.
    In the IDE, you can register multiple Java platforms and attach Javadoc and source code to each platform. For example, if you
    want to work with the new features introduced in JDK 5.0, you would either run the IDE on JDK 5.0 or register JDK 5.0 as a
    platform and attach the source code and Javadoc to the platform.
    In  , you can switch the target JDK in the Project Properties dialog box. In  , you have to set the target JDK in the Ant script itself,
    then specify the source/binary format in the Project Properties dialog box.
    To register a new Java platform:
    Choose Tools > Java Platforms from the main window.
    Click New Platform and select the directory that contains the Java platform. Java platform directories are marked with a
    in the file chooser.
    Use the Sources and Javadoc tabs to attach Javadoc documentation and source code for debugging to the platform.
    Click Close.
    To set the default Java platform for a standard project:
    Right-click the project's root node in the Projects window and choose Properties.
    In the Project Properties dialog box, select the Libraries node in the left pane.
    Choose the desired Java platform in the Java Platform combo box.
    Switching the target JDK for a standard project does the following:
    Offers the new target JDK's classes for code completion.
    If available, displays the target JDK's source code and Javadoc documentation.
    Uses the target JDK's executables (javac and java) to compile and execute your application.
    Compiles your source code against the target JDK's libraries.
    If you want to register additional Java platforms with the IDE, you can do so by clicking the Manage Platforms button.
    Then click the Add Platform button and navigate to the desired platform.
    To set the target Java platform for a free-form project:
    In your Ant script, set the target JDK as desired in the javac, java, and javadoc tasks.
    Right-click the project's root node in the Projects window and choose Properties.
    In the Sources panel, set the level of JDK you want your application to be run on in the Source/Binary Format combo box.
    When you access Javadoc or source code for JDK classes, the IDE searches the Java platforms registered in the
    Java Platform Manager for a platform with a matching version number. If no matching platform is found, the IDE's default platform is used instead.

  • How to display the source code for this friggin' file.

    Below is a rather lengthy bit of code that provides the behavior and attributes of a web server for OpenCyc. I need to know if I can enter some java to have the HTML source code displayed in a separate text file whenever this class returns some resulting webpage. If you have any ideas it will be greatly appreciated.

    JLundan,
    I want to thank you for responding to the thread I started on the forum at java.sun.com. Your solution to my problem of needing to print the code of the html pages that the file I included generates was just what I was looking for. However, I have some further questions to ask, if you don't mind. To clarify my task I should say that your rephrasing of the problem is accurate: "You wan't to display the contents of the HTML file that the web server produces in response of client's request?"
    Yes, this is what I need to do, but also it needs to display the source code of that html file that the server produces in response to the client's request. Also, in this case, I am the client requesting that the server return some html file, and I'm not sure where the server is. But the webserver.java file that I shared on the forum is on my local machine. I was wondering if I could modify this webserver.java file at my home so that any html file the server returns to me would automatically display the source code. This is a school project of mine and I am stuck on this one thing here.
    Further, where would I put the "foo.html" file so it can be written to?
    FileOuputStream fos = new FileOutputStream("foo.html");
    fos.write(bytes);
    fos.close();
    Thanks so much for your help. I look forward to your response, at your convenience.

  • OIC: Need to find the Source Code for the YTDSummary.java file

    Hi All,
    We have 11.5.10 implemention and we are using the OIC(Incentive Compensation) Application. In the Report Module for the Year-To-Date Summary we need look for the Java Source Code.The cnytdsum.jsp file call the YTDSummary.java file. We have teh following question
    1. How we can get the Java Source Code and where and which directory we need to look into?
    2. Let say if we need to customize the java file how we can do that?
    3. where and which directory we have to complie the java file?
    Highly appreciate for any pointers
    Thanks,
    Johnson.

    But those must be platform dependant, not really that
    interesting to look at. I have never felt any need to
    look at those at least.Wake up and smell the coffee, abbie! I read the source code all the time and constantly tell my students to do that, too.
    1. Java source code is not platform dependent. The original poster wanted to look at linked list code, how could that be platform dependent?
    2. It is the implementation of the SDK APIs, so by definition it is implementation dependent code, liable to change in a later version. So don't assume anything beyond what is claimed in the API documentation. However, sometimes the documentation is incomplete or ambiguous to you, and reading the source can provide some insight, however implementation dependent. (Light a candle or curse the darkness.)
    3. Why read source code? It's a good way to learn how to program. You see something in the API and ask: how'd they do that? Or you realize you want to do something broadly similar, but you can't reuse the source code.
    For example, Images are not Serializable, but suppose you want a small image that is part of an object to be serialized with the rest of the object without too much fuss (ie, without using javax.imageio). You notice ImageIcon is serializable, so you use it. (An ImageIcon has-an Image.) Then you wonder: how'd they do that? You read the source and then you know.
    You live, you learn,

  • How to get the source code of a PRT application in the portal

    Hi!
    Does anybody know how to get the source code of a PRT application in the portal?
    Thanks in advance,
    Celso

    Celso,
    If its Java-based code have a look at the properties of an iView that belongs to the application in question and copy the value of the Code Link parameter e.g. 'com.sap.pct.hcm.rc_vacancyrequestov.default'.
    Search the Portal installation directory under /j233/cluster/server/ for a .par.bak file of the same name, removing .default from the codelink parameter
    e.g. com.sap.pct.hcm.rc_vacancyrequestov.par.bak
    Copt this locally and import into Netweaver Developer Studio. You will have to decompilte the class files with a decompiler such as DJ Decompiler or Cavaj (search with Google).
    Cheers,
    Steve

  • Error in compiling java source code in a package

    hi all...
    am having a problem in compiling a java source code:
    i have a class named 'Test' in the package 'packone'....
    i have another class named 'getTest' in the same package....
    in the class getTest i am taking a reference to Test class...
    on compiling i am getting the following error....
    cannot resolve symbol
    symbol : class Test
    The source code for the two classes are :
    package packone;
    public class Test{
    and
    package packone;
    public class getTest{
    public void me(){
         Test t = new Test();
    i have included the directory path in the classpath....
    still its not compiling .....
    please help
    thanks....

    Assume the current directory structure:
    C:\
    C:\packone...and that your classes are named Test & GetTest.
    My guess is that you're compiling within the directory C:\packone using the command "javac GetTest.java", which is wrong; You must use a path corresponding to the package-name.
    Move your command-line cursor to C:\ and type "javac packone\GetTest.java" and you'll be fine...

  • Webutil, ora_ffi and source code

    Hi
    We use forms 6i, so, of course, we can't use webutil.
    What we currently do in client/server is use the get_file_name to allow the user to select a file from their drives and then that path and filename are stored in the database.
    Then, using some ORA_FFI code, we allow the user to click on the file name and the file opens on their machine, using the default application (done by a call to shellexecutea, I think)
    ANYHOW, what we'd like to do is bring this over into our web deployment.
    For the get_file_name item, I was thinking that if we could get the source code for Webutil, we could make it work for 6i.
    Question: Is there any place I can get the source?
    For the opening of the file, it gets a little more complicated.
    Question: Does anyone know how I might accomplish the same functionality for our web as we have on our client/server version?
    (yeah, I know this is kind of a big question)
    thanks!
    -Joel

    HI Joel,
    As far as I saw,you can use webutil with F6i...the only requirement is to have a JInitiator 1.3.1.9 available..
    You can download it from otn and install it into Forms6i..
    I don't know exactly ,but it seems to me that patch 13 installs it automatically..
    You can open the webutil.pll with a text editor and get the code frm there,and create the 6i pll.
    And with webutil.olb,you can open it in a forms9i get the code from the triggers on the block,and create a 6i olb file.
    I thinck it worth the work.
    You must also create the virtual directory where the webutil files are downloaded from.
    Good luck

  • How to get Source Code out of SCA File

    I have a SCA file comprising SAP Ecommerce 5 solution. What I want to achieve is to get all the source code out of it including the original directory structure. Unzipping it doesn't give me the required results and requires a lot of manual work creating directories and more unzipping.
    I tried importing it into a Local SC in NWDS but it complains that " Import (into source SC) not possible: SCA doesn't contain DC sources".
    I don't have access to NWDI at this point.

    Hi,
    For getting the source code of the Business Package Content, follow the steps below:
    1. Make sure Source Archive is available for the Business Package.
    2. Create a NWDI Track, and include all dependencies (check SAP Note : 1080927 - Creating CMS Tracks for common Application Types )
    3. Once you have track in place, you can import the Track into NWDS
    4. In Development Configurations perspective of the NWDS you can see the track.
    5. Now create Project from Inactive Workspace to start modifying the code.
    Check the link for general links
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/JDI/NWDIRelatedNotesandLinks
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers-

  • Problem with registering Parser - Recompiled source code, don't see any changes

    I had created a parser. I had register this parser with Ifs Manager. I had execute this following statement to see if been registered carefully:
    On user ifssys/ifssys
    sql)select name,stringvalue,bundle from odmv_property where name= 'p01';
    I see my parser....
    select name from odmv_propertybundle where id=1139;
    ParserLookupByFileExtension
    All it's ok. I upload a file with a 'p01' extension with option 'parser' on my Internet Explorer. All work fine.. My parser work. But I need to do some changes in my code. I update my code, recompile my code. My class file have been updated. After my parser (.class) file have been updated I upload a new file with parse option. I don't see any change I do in my code. Why??? How I can update my parser to view change. I have only recompile my code an place my new class files on the same directory. I have try again (change on code, recompile, test) and I don't see any changes.
    But I have test by change my classname. My classname before is Test1 and I have rename my classe by Test2. I have compiled this code and a file Test2.class have been generate. I have update my register parser with Ifs Manager to use the new classname Test2. I have chack with sql statement to see if my parser have been updated. I have been updated correctly. I have upload a new file with parse option and I see my change on my code..
    Do you have some explanations about that??
    How I can update my source code of a parser already registered to the parser take the change I do.

    Ok, but they have another manner to resolve this problem. If I upload a file with parser option on Windows Nt explorer (Using SmbServer or WcpServer). How I can update the class file into the JVM? I need the restart this those server or just one? If just one which server I need to restart?
    Thanks Francois

  • Project setup - what's best for source code versioning?

    We're about to start developing a new portal and are wondering what would be the best directory structure. It's important to decide at the beginning because we're using CVS version management for our source code (we are currently using it for our ADF development).
    Are there any issues related to directory/package structure? With ADF, we had problems when we wanted jsps from one application to call those in another application. To get around that, we had to put all of our applications within the same jdeveloper "project".
    I'm keen to hear any suggestions - especially if you work in a multi-application environment with concurrent development etc.
    thanks,
    M

    Since I don't have a Canon, I don't know the specifics of how to ingest media for that camera. But FCE does have the ability to log & transfer AVCHD, as I have done this with a Sony HandiCam and my Lumix GH-1.
    The codec that FCE transcoded to, was AIC, Apple Intermediate Codec. FCE is 'fine' if you are not using 24p frame rates, as there are no 24p sequence options. (You can use 24p in a 25p timeline... but broadcast engineers will gnash their teeth on such botchery.)
    This may or may not be an issue.
    On the 'problem' of 'wyrd things happen when I whip pan my camera'... well, yeah... There are some industry standards about how fast objects should move across the field of view to avoid artifacts.
    The "whip pan", namely quickly pivoting the camera, will produce strange imaging. While the technology and image formation is different, so the artifacts are different, but even for 'film film' there are limits.
    One rule thumb I've run across is an object should take at least 5 seconds from one side of the screen to the other. Faster will result in artifacts, strobing, or in the case of digital cameras, 'rolling shutter' issues.
    The motto of the day is... "Know thy camera"...
    There may be filters to minimize or save the day if needed, but it is just better to shoot correctly in the first place...
