Source for 2GB Memory for NB100-12A

Can anyone tell me where I can obtain the 2GM memory upgrade for my NB100-12A? How much does it cost? To install it, do I have to remove existig 1GM and replace with new memory or what is the procedure?

First, a question - are you running the pre-installed version of Windows XP? If so, I'm not sure it will support 2GB of RAM - does anyone know for sure? +Officially+ the NB100 only supports 1GB, so I'd check before spending any money...
Assuming your OS +does+ support 2GB, I'd suggest you try Crucial - good memory, good service and a fair price. If you go to the following link, you can enter the details of your netbook and it will provide a link to the correct memory:
[Crucial memory|http://www.crucial.com/uk/netbook/index.aspx]
It looks like it's about £20 at the moment - prices have risen lately :( You could get memory that's +slightly+ cheaper, but then you'd have the hassle of working out exactly what to get.
In terms of fitting, you need to remove the cover on the bottom of the NB100 (it's secured by a single screw). Remove the existing RAM and fit the new stick. Re-attach the cover and reboot - job done :)

  • Is this the right 2GB memory for my  Areca ARC-1880ix

    Hello
My  Areca ARC-1880ix came with 1GB of onboard memory.   I am able to upgrade it to 4GB of memory.  But I am only upgrading it to 2GB of memory, swapping out the 1GB stick for the 2GB memory.
I want to double check to make sure the new memory is "compatible".  One of the reasons I'm checking is, while it appears that the stick will indeed fit in the board, the stick is not as "tall" as the original memory stick.
I assume I am being overly careful. I guess I could just stick the memory into the card and see if it blows up.  But I figure I'd run the sticks through the experts here.
See the attached photo of the two sticks, side by side. BTW the slots align up.....
The memory stick that came with the card has these specs:
    UNIGEN
    UG 12T7200M8DR-8CR
    1GB DDR2  800  RDIMM 240PIN
    1116-ME75TDM80018CUEKRS
The memory I bought is 2GB and here are the specs:

    Rowby,
Do NOT order the 2GB stick from the link you provide above for a ARC-1880 series controller card. The only one that they show on that link that would be compatible is the $249 4GB 800MHz stick. If you click on the "details" button by each you can view what cards each RAM stick is compatible with.
If I were you, I would just stick with the 1GB RAM. And, if that is not fast enough for your needs, buying more hard drives would probably help your system's performance more than the cache upgrade.

It must be PA3513U-1M2G. You must check if this module is compatible with your notebook model. I think so.
Anyway I recommend you to buy high quality product like Kingston modules.

  • What kind of memory for my Macbook Pro Laptop

    Hello:
I am thinking of getting more memory for my laptop.
I am unsure on what brand to buy, so I appreciate any input you might have. I have 2 memory slots that have 2gb each. How much can I put in each slot? 4gb, 8gb?
What kind of prices for the memory?
Here are the specs on my laptop.
    MacBook Pro
    13-inch, Early 2011
Processor  2.3 GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory  4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics  Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
    Thank you!

You can put an 8GB module in each slot, giving you a total of 16GB. But that's the maximum.
Good sources of RAM for your model (which use 204-pin PC-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMMs) are Crucial, OWC and Corsair. Other people may recommend other brands, but I would get one of the three (and I only include Corsair because that's what I'm using).
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • Memory full. Not enough memory for operation.

    To the Report Design Team,
It has been suggested that I post this issue here based on another thread I started: Re: Memory full. Not enough memory for operation.
The template contains a single 24 bit PNG image as a background in the Page Header section, plus 9 image records from a SQL Server image field over 3 pages (3 images per page).  The images are all JPG at 3000x2000 (digital camera).
To summarize, we are experiencing three problems.
    1. CR2008SP2 Designer issues a Memory Full error when Exporting to PDF.
    2. Using a 3rd party PDF Printer (Bullzip PDF) and CR2008SP2 Designer generates a PDF, however, the CR2008SP2 API throws a "Memory full" exception suggesting Designer and API are different (see stack trace in linked message above).
    3. With only 3 images on 1 page, CR2008 Designer Export to PDF takes 110 seconds to generate a 24MB PDF while our third party PDF Printer generates the same report in 17 seconds and 580KB.
Edited by: Don Williams on Sep 30, 2009 6:43 AM

The .rpt file size is 14MB with the Data Save option enabled, 12MB without Data Save.  Presumably the 12MB file size is because of the 24bit PNG we have as our background.
The Designer executes the report in less than a second and we can scroll through all pages and see the image fields perfectly.
When we Export to PDF, the Designer takes a long time, eventually gets to the 77%, the 7th record and returns "Export report failed" followed by "Memory full".  If we export only page 1 of the 3 pages, it also returns a Memory full error.  However, when the same report is run with only 1 page, that page exports to PDF but with a ridiculously large size and export time.
The machine has 2GB of physical memory with an 8GB pagefile with Windows 2003 (latest everything).  The process runs up to about 1GB before reporting the memory full error.
We've also tried a variety of other suggestions posted in the other thread with no success.
We're happy to provide the RPT file to the Report Team to diagnose the problem.  Ultimately, we need to be able to produce a 15 page report with approximately 45 images.
Our preferred scenario is fixing problem 2.  The CR Designer seems quite capable of rendering our report and printing it to our third party PDF printer in a timely manner with small size.  However, the API reports memory full.
The API resides in a dedicated reporting web service with NO other code except for loading the report, setting parameters and printing.  When executing, it uses up to about 1.1GB before reporting the error.
Are there any other suggestions for fixing what we have?  Are there known problems with large images in reports?  Do we need to lodge a formal support request?
    Regards,  Grant.

  • Hard Drive and Ram Memory for Pavilion dv6-6123cl

Good morning! I want to change my ram and my hard drive. The ram will be 8GB and 2TB drive, I wonder if I used the hard drive, if supported? and as for the ram if I have to buy one that is compatible or anybody served me?
    Thank you! : smileywink:

Are you located in the U.S.? If not, where? Country only is enough so we can link you to a source for hard drive and memory.
Page 62 for the hard drive and 66 for the Memory.
You need to open the memory door and see if you have one 4 gig stick or 2 x 2. If you have 1 x 4 you just need to get another to have 8. If you have 2 x 2 you need to get 2 x 4.
You need DDR3-1333 mhz SO-DIMM memory and you need a 2.5 inch wide 9.5 mm thick SATA hard drive. 2 TB drives are not really available in the market. 1 TB is about as big as you are going to find out there.
Post back with your country of residence and we can link you to a good online store. If your hard drive is working well right now you need to use the HP Recovery manager to burn recovery DVDs to put software on the new drive.

  • "Your Mac OS X startup disk has no more space available for application memory" error?

I've searched the web high and low to resolve this issue, tried many different approaches, and have not been able to resolve it. I'm really looking for help at this point.
I'm trying to export a 5 minute video that I've put together using FCPX 10.0.8. I export "master file" to an external hard drive and at some point in the export process I get the following popup:
    System information:
    13" mid-2011 Macbook Air
Processor  1.8 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory  4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 (2GB x2)
Graphics  Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5
Hard drive: 256 SSD (107 GB available)
    FCPX project information:
FCPX media is stored on SSD system drive and exporting to external drive
Media is 1080p 24 frame footage shot using a Canon T2i
Total Length of project is 5:13
    Background rendering is off
Proxy media is created for all media but I am exporting original media
    I've tried the following:
Freeing up more hard drive space - I've anywhere from 25 GB to 107 GB free and it does not seem to matter how much free space I have, I still get the error
Repairing system drive - I've repaired permissions with Disk Utility and I've even performed a drive Rebuild using DiskWarrior
Cleaning up FCPX project - I've gone through and deleted all unused media, deleted project and event render files, etc
Cleared RAM - During export I've repeatedly ran MemoryKeeper to clear RAM and free up more memory
System restart before attempting the export and I also boot up holding 'shift' which blocks unnecessary background tasks, dropbox, etc from starting
    Considerations/Observations:
I've exported longer and more complex projects using the same setup with no problem, also with less free disk space
I've never seen this error in any other situation
The error will pop up anywhere from the export being 35% to 98% completed
    Activity Monitor during export:
The only processes that are taking up any considerable memory are FCPX and kernal_task
'% CPU' on FCPX jumps around from 60% or less to 250% or more
    FCPX usually has 83 threads
'Real Memory' for FCPX can be anywhere from 300 MB to 2 GB
It seems that when the export is at about 25% or 30% that is when the computer starts slowing down, 'Free' system memory goes down to mere megabytes, and a ton of swapfiles start to generate in .../var/vm folder which will build up until I'm out of disk space
Sometimes the error will pop up even before I run out of disk space due to the swapfiles. Last time it came up when I still had 40 GB free
Screenshot of Activity Monitor 'System Memory' during a previous attempt to export, taken right as the error popped up:
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help me figure this one out!

Like Russ said, your system specs are pretty marginal - especially the 4GB of RAM. As you are experiencing this sometimes gets rapidly depleted, so the system starts to use swap on the system drive - the internal SSD. You have written about freeing hard drive space - do you mean in the external? You really need room in the internal SSD: not for your export, but for system stuff like sleepimage, swap space etc. The error message is pretty clear: you reached a situation where there is not enough space in the SSD for your system to work properly.

  • Looking for a memory that is reliable!!!

    Hello fellas,
I'd like to upgrade my current memory Ram( from 1GB to 2GB),
but i'm quite corncened in prices, is there any place out there who sales as Good Quality RAM as Apple but with a reasanable price? I mean i don't wanna screw up my MB with something that will never work as it should!
    Thanks in advance.

The quality is probably good, but I've never used that memory before, so I can't be sure. In the past, I have had issues with quirky behavior in my PowerBooks if the added memory isn't closely matched to the existing bank of memory. Several people on various forums pointed me to Crucial, and since I have been buying from them, I have never had a problem.
The memory you are looking at is much cheaper than what I buy from Crucial, and it might be just as good. There's no way I can be sure of that, though. Unless someone else here confirms that it will be a good match for the memory already in the MacBook, you'll just have to order it and try it. Then you will be the authority.

  • Not enough memory for Photoshop CC anymore?

My computer had room for 6 RAM sticks. Up until Friday, I was using 5, for a total of 9GB RAM. After using a program called Speccy to determine my computer's motherboard, I found that I could upgrade to add another of the 2GB sticks that I already had in it. So I bought another one and installed it, hoping to have 11GB now. I plugged it in and it snapped into place. Turned on the computer, and still just had 9GB. There's a seperate section in Speccy that shows my physical memory, which it shows is 7GB, with available physical memory at 4GB.
All that to say, I can hardly do anything in Photoshop anymore! It used to work great. It is not even letting me save a psd document, or make any changes. Says there is not enough memory. So not only have I not increased my RAM, but it's acting worse than ever! Any ideas what may be causing this or what I could try to fix it?

If you have snapped in 11GB of ram to your mother board something is wrong.  Check you memory configuration. There are restriction as to what is supported. Memory configuration vary in what is supported, Often memory of the same type must be use in memory banks.   My machine came from Dell with 4 RAM  sticks 2GB each 1600 ECC each in the first slot next to the two processor so 8GB.  I think each is on a separate buss or channel and that first slot form memory bank 1.  I added 4 8GB stick of 1600 ECC Ram for and additional 32GB. While I have a mix of stick sizes each memory each bank is populated with identical memory sticks. The work station only has 8 memory sockets.  They can use memory sticks up the 16GB in size. So if I had the money and the desire I could install 8 16GB memory stack for a total of 128GB.  I chose cases of wine instead.
Your numbers also seem odd to me but then I'm no expert.   I always though memory was configured in banks with 6 slots I would think you have two or three banks. 2 thee channel banks or three two channel banks.   I can also believe all slots could be independant. but you stated five slots were used for 9GB so something like 4 2GB sticks and a 1 GB stick you stated you added a 2GB stick for a total of 11GB. Yet two thing show you have 7GB of ram installed. You need to take a closer look at your hardware.
What you wrote does not add up why would adding a 2GB stick into your machine cause the RAM used by the machine to drop down in size 2GB to 7GB instead of increasing 2GB in size to 11GB. Check you machine hardware manual about memory configuration supported.
"My computer had room for 6 RAM sticks. Up until Friday, I was using 5, for a total of 9GB RAM. • Which "Optimize Memory For" setting is best ?

    I don't understand this..Or I think I've used it wrong..please help?
By default, Premiere Pro renders video using the maximum number of available processors, up to 16. However, some sequences, such as those containing high-resolution source video or still images, require large amounts of memory for the simultaneous rendering of multiple frames. These sequences can force Premiere Pro to cancel rendering and to give a Low Memory Warning alert. In these cases, you can maximize the available memory by changing the rendering optimization preference from Performance to Memory. Change this preference back to Performance when rendering no longer requires memory optimization.
Select Edit > Preferences, and select Memory in the Preferences dialog box.
In the drop-down list next to Optimize Rendering For, select Memory.
Click OK, close Premiere Pro, and reopen the project for the new preference to take effect.
Does setting to MEMORY only benefit lower end systems with bottlenecks, or do you use this settting on higher end machines too?
I've always had mine set to MEMORY because I thought it would make better use of the memory. Now I have a higher end machine with 16GB of ram. And I just read a thread where someone said set it to peroformance if you want to see more CPU/RAM utilization..so now I'm confused.... Do I set it to PERFORMANCE or MEMORY w/ 16GB of ram (core i7 2600k @ 4.2ghz)? Also if you could explain why. Thanks!

Why would low-end RAM affect the Performance Setting (vs. Memory).  It seems like the Memory setting would rely more heavily on RAM (where I have no problems).
For what it's worth, this is a dedicated "high end" editing machine, and the RAM was top performance/top dollar when purchased.
"I believe setting the optimise to Memory will slow down the render speed to acceptable levels"  I would like to know if this is in fact really the case (which would suggest optimize to Memory is a "slower" setting than optimize to Memory).
I am seeing this problem in CS6 with only HD footage after editing an entire feature with CS4 in 4K (.r3d) without any issues.  Seems very weird.
