Source not found exception in JSF processing

Hope this is not a newbie question, but I am stuck here.
I am using jdk 1.5_07 with tomcat 5.5 and using Exadel studio for eclipse as my ide.
I have created a jsf page with a simple drop down menu. The menu gets its data from a backing bean, which in turn calls a business object that queries the database to get the data for the drop down.
When I run the page, it fails because it says it returns a null list.
In the debugger, i have stepped through the code and backing bean (session based) does everything it is supposed to, including updating the property in the object ArrayList<SelectItem>. When the backing bean is initialized, the constructor calls a method that initializes this property properly.
As soon as the initializiation is done, however, I get an error message in the debugger that:
"The source attachment does not contain the source for the file NativeMethodAccessorImpl.class. You can change the source attachment by clicking "Change Attached Source below:". Click on this button brings up a window for me to select my src.zip, prepopulated with C:/Program Files/Java/jdk1.5.0_07/src.zip. The file exists, I have checked it.
If I continue in the debugger, it then does call the getter method for the property, but at that point in time, the object is empty for whatever reason (again, it was a sesson bean), so that it returns a null to the jsf page, which then blows up because it got a null value.
I have no idea what is happening here - the message would seem to indicate a problem with my JDK, but it works fine for the example apps and in tomcat.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Subsequent to my last message, I found that if I put the initializer method call in the getter, it works. Meaning, if I have the initializer method in the constructor for the class, when the getter is called on the object, the data is not initialized and returns null. When I check for null in the getter and put the initializing method in the getter, it works fine. This would appear to be something to do with the lifecycle of the request - I am using a session scoped managed bean. Is there some kind of round trip between the method constructor call and the getter method? I would not think so, as the getter is what is instantiating the class in the first place, but I am new to JSF so I am not sure what is happening.

Not able to start the remote server - class not found exception

That's a remote exception coming from the registry. You need to learn to recognize remote exceptions and their source, it's a mjaor source of confusion in RMI.
In this case it's the registry that can't find the stub class.
The stub class needs to be in the CLASSPATH of (i) the Registry and (ii) the client as well. Ditto the remote interface; ditto any application classes it refers to, and so on until closure.
The easiest way to achieve (i) is to start it in the server's JVM, with LocateRegistry.createRegistry().

I have seen your two posts and there are something you need to notice:
Where the ClassNotFound exception you got? From deployment tool or
application server kjs process?
Of course, you need not to add supporting classes to each ejb jars or ears.
1. If you use deployment tool to package your application, I'm sure you'll
fail to resovle your classes without supporting classes added to jars.
Please select Edit->Preference,in Classpath entry, enter the supporting
classes(packaged to jar files) location. This should work.
2. After deploy to ias, please edit the registry using kregedit which you
described in your posts.

published successfully. On running the client program I get an
error saying that the mybeans's HomeHelper class cannot be
found. This error occurs when there is a lookup to the home
interface of the bean. The exception thrown says Reasons are
unknown. On checking the objects of type 'JAVA CLASS' I found
that the homeHelper class object had been created automatically
be the deploy process. What is the reason for the class not
found exception and what can I do to correct it. ?

File not found exception....in jboss

how to access a .properties file in jboss web application....as when running the jsp code from jboss which in turn invokes the java class file which is using the .properties file we get the file not found exception with respect to the properties file though it is not posing any exceptions while executing the java code from the command line..please feel free to provide any useful answers.

java file that contains the processing logic...Yes, and given all I know about good application design, this doesn't sound like something a JSP should be doing.
absolutely fine on command line no hassels....An application server is not a command-line environment. It imposes a huge bunch of restrictions and implications.

Struggling to Run

Ok...after I thought everything was going well enough.... problems are arising.
Here's where I'm at and that will include how i got a "nano" error. After a lot of late night messing around I ended up installing a few important component that seem to have done some good. Firstly i installed j2sdk-1_4_2_18-windows-i586-p and ended up with a few good things. Windows was happy when i changed the path variables in the environment setting to point to the newly created c:\program files\java\j2re1.4.2_18\bin folder. This allowed me to start up eclipse properly and use some functions in CMD. In CMD when i use the command java -version it reads Java version 1_.4_.2_1_8. Next i installed the j2sdk-1_4_2_13 jre 1.6.0 environment and ended up with a new folder in C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0 as well.
with the two environments installed i thought i was ready fro the next step.
I got started on eclipse and now that it was opening i was feeling good. Next i opened window --> preferences --> java --> installed jre's and i started adding things like crazy. My current list of comprised of many things which I'm certain should all be there at this point so I'll list them:
j2sdk1.4.2_13 - C:\j2sdk1.4.2_13
j2re1.4.2_18 - C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_18
j2sdk1.4.2_18 - C:\j2sdk1.4.2_18\jre

I've set the preferred jre to be set to jdk1.6.0 - C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0 and it seems to work for all of my programs that do not have the input.scanner. However for the projects that do have this method i get a few different errors:

Why i get servlet exception/login servlet not found exception with .ear ?

I am able to deploy my war and after that generating the ear from that. both works fine in local system.
But when i run (Jboss as service[Java Service Wrapper]) it takes war without any problem.But with ear file i am getting servlet not found exception.I can't understand where this problem is coming from.
Even if i take my JSPWIki ear which is running well in production server, this also gives same error.
One more thing, the files, what i am running well in local system i.e. war and ear working fine. (can't test in production server so testing in same kind of testing server) there also getting login servlet not found exception. Even in same location other files which are deployed are working fine.out of 4 at least one is working fine.
I don't undersatnd where this whole problem is .
Please guiide me where sholud i concentrate to solve this problem.

I took the source code including the dll files already added to the project from here:

The solution include two projects the one name Capture is class library type and the dll that make the exception is in this project.
I tried now to use the program Dependency Walker on this dll file and it found error/s:
This is the log:

It happen only when using/detecting Direct3D 11 . So far only in Direct3D 11, When i use it with a game that run Direct3D 9 it's working fine.

Report Generation Toolkit (Word) : How to use correctly bookmark and cross-reference without "Error! Reference source not found"

Hi,
I try to generate a report using a template. In my template I use some cross-reference to refer to one bookmark. For exemple in the first page I created a bookmark for my name and in the header I created a cross-reference refer to my name. The problems is when I run my VI the bookmark actualise perfectly but the cross-reference refer to the bookmark can't actualise with the same value and generates an error : "Error! Reference source not found".
Can somebody help me please!

Hi,
When i create the word template, the bookmaks and the cross-reference referred to the bookmark update correctely. The problem is when I try to change the bookmark using "report generation from template vi" the bookmark change but not the cross-reference and the error generated is "Error! Reference source not found".
I make coople reasherch and i think they have no solution for this because : "if the text in a heading referred to in a cross-reference is revised, the cross-reference to the heading may no longer work" (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/troubleshoot-cross-references-HP005189368.aspx).
To "resolved" this problem I create an other bookmark in the template who have the same value white the principle bookmark.
I use Labview 2011 and Micosoft office 2010.

In summary, the system cannot find the files server.1.log, security.1.log, database.1.log and applications.1.log. I tried manually adding these files (I created them on my computer and left them empty) on the path written, but it did not work, for some reason they are deleted.

Nothing really seemed to work when trying to solve this problem, just suddenly it stopped appearing. It might have been our installation of SPS 15, since it was around that time that the error went away.

I am trying to set up the development environment using Portal (5.0.4), Eclipse and Tomcat-4.1.30-LE. I've set up Eclipse according to the instruction of "Debugging portal source code: Eclipse".
I got the following error when I select "Run | Debug" in Eclipse and Tomcat won't start.

Has anyone seen this before? How do fix it?

maybe this is just because there is no source code for the JCO Classes. I don't think SAP ships JCO Classes with source Infos for debugging.
In debugging i would suggest just not to step into the JCO Methods.

Administration-- Configuration -- Callout Directory -- xx/yy/zz (UNIX server that is accesible from B2B)
2.Partners--XX--Delivery Channel -- Select the channel where we need the call out -- Channel Attributes -- Transport Callout -- XXJavaCallout

Place the jar file in xx/yy/zz UNIX location.
Please let me know if any steps I have missed for using the callout functionality.

Administration-- Callout Details -- Implementation Class -- XXClassFileNameMake sure that you are giving complete name of the class (without extension .class.). For an example if your class name is Sample and it is in package a.b.c then give class name as a.b.c.Sample

3.Agreement--Callout -- XXJavaCalloutTransport Callout and Agreement Callouts are used for different purpose. Are you sure that you really need both in your case?

Java applet class not found exception for check scan

I am getting a class not found exception when trying to scan a check into a banking website. The application uses Java and the exception error has the name "com.epaysol.checkscanAppletV2" in the message. I have the latest Firefox and the latest Java installed. I tried going to an earlier version of Firefox and of Java where this app worked in the past and it does not work now in the earlier versions either. So I am now back to the latest version of everything.

I have impoted project file in eclipse in new machine using option import from existing workbence . When i stat to debug this project ,
i am getting error as class not found exception : com.mysql.jdbc.driver . my project folder already consist of mysql .jar file in /web appls/web-inf folder.
Application is running successfully in other machine from where i took the application file. As this error appeared I also added jar file into project path as Project ---->properties-- build java path---libraries----add external jar file.

Sounds like an eclipse question - not a JDBC one.
But since eclipse is telling you it can't find it then it means it is not in the eclipse path. So you must add it. (The fact that it is somewhere is irrelevant - all that matters is it is not in the class path.)

Class Not Found Exception After Connecting From a JDeveloper

Hi,
I am following the tutorial on SOA and started to experience problems in deployments (all but the console, including em) after the connection to the remote weblogic (10.3.5) from JDeveloper. I would know if the connection modifies the WLS environment. Unfortunately I did not note the message before wiping the setup, but found many entries on Google referring to some ADF library. I followed the suggestion to apply the adf runtime to the WLS install but this not helped.
By the way, I would just understand if the remote connection from a JDeveloper adds some configuration which is then eventually not found in the target WLS.

Can you check the log files of soa_server1, which are located in the <domain-home>/servers/<server-name>/logs.
There are probably some occurences of class not found exceptions.
